Take a look at his footwork. Two reasons for drop backs at 3, 5 and 7 steps. (1)To get separation from the O-line and on-coming defenders, and (2)timing with the receivers. When JRuss hops back or skips or whatever he does rather than setting up properly, his timing with his receivers is all messed up. When taking a proper drop, when he plants, receivers should be coming out of their breaks and the ball should be delivered at that time. If he does not take the proper drop, then the timing is messed up. Also when it comes to his accuracy, he is not stepping into his throws. He is leaning back slightly and this throws off the accuracy. Just ask Romo. Easy to get away from these fundamental things when you are nervous. Its the coaching staffs job to remind him. Very easy to correct. I am a huge JRuss fan, but his lack of work ethic pisses me off. Off season he should of been picking the brains of some of the better QBs in the league. Maybe spend a few weeks with his southern friend Drew Brees or Payton Manning. Should come into camp in the best shape of his life, every year. Kiffin and Cable have pointed out how he must behave to become the player he needs to be, but to hear his college buddy point it out and he seems to just now be hearing it drives me crazy.
