Gallery coming along
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Monday, September 28th, 2009 at 1:48 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Robert Gallery came in to the locker room on crutches, a bandage over a scar on his left leg where doctors inserted a steel plate and screws to repair a broken fibula.
He conceded he won’t play this week, but wouldn’t rule out next week.
He’s got the team’s medical staff to do that for him.
“They had to go through a bunch of muscle to get in there, but it’s not out of the question,” Gallery said. “ So it’s just when I can get moving around and obviously that bone is not a lot of weight bearing so that helps. Pretty much week to week, what they said. This week’s pretty much out, but I don’t think you can count out next week. But you never know. We won’t know until the end of the week.”
Will have updates from minimal locker room availability as well as Tom Cable’s press briefing (2 p.m. on the West Coast) later as well as updates on my Twitter page.

Repost:
Brien,
If Russell’s the captain of the brigade, Cable’s the general, and he takes his orders directly from President Davis.
It’s worse than ‘Nam.
Sending unprepared youngsters into hostile territory with a lack of leadership, motivation, and strategy, and you’ll witness the result.
Russell does need to be the leader of this team. He needs to be more discipline. He needs to be smarter, more dedicated and better prepared.
He could use some help from the general, but the general is scared of the President.

I would rather have Byron Leftwich at QB than Russel.
September 28th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
I don’t know one NFL team that would leave a QB as the starter that can’t throw for over 100 yards in a game and has a less than 50 percent completion rate for the year after 3 games.
Oh wait, I do. The Raiders.
When Al fired Lane Kiffin last year, one of his many reasons was that Kiffin didn’t want to draft Russell. Maybe Kiffin should come back as the GM. He can’t do worse.

I don’t think Al and Cable are on the same page. When the game was on the line, Cable said run, run, run.
Al says pass, pass, pass.
Two opposing ideologies.
Sorry, Brien, you know you’re my boy, but we don’t agree there.

September 28th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
What pisses me off is Russell’s lack of remorse. He stands up there saying he thinks he’s progressing adequately. He’s either lying to us or is simply one dumb SOB. I choose to select the latter option. I believe he is less than adequate intelligence wise and is totally lazy and unmotivated resulting in someone who simply doesn’t care. He is NOT being held accountable by anyone who counts. After all, think about it. He’s in his early twenties and has $32 million in the bank – GUARANTEED! He has absolutely nothing at risk. He can live well down South with that amount of cash. He’ll never have to work again. Why start now? HE-DA-MAN111

They’ve been grooming Russell all offseason to be The Guy, and to run an offense that’s not neccecarily pass-first, but one that can rely on Russell to win games when called upon.
Does Cable want a capable QB he can rely on? Of course.
It’s not there. At least not yet. Call better plays.
If the same thing goes down in Houston, we all know beyond a shadow of a doubt they are going to ride Russell & DHB until the wheels fall off or until they just “get it.”
Hopefully Chaz will open up a lot for this offense. He is sorely missed. He’ll make whoever lines up on the other side better, he’ll make Zach better, he’ll make the run game better, and he’ll make Russell better.
That being said, he’s a 2nd year guy that hasn’t proven anything, other than he played well in the two games he started last year and that he breaks bones in non-contact drills.
Scary.
We need to gel in a hurry. Like Aso said, find the identity. It’s not 50 yard bombs, that’s for sure.
It worked once to Murphy, on 4th and a mile, and it’s not going to work week in and week out, especially in the first frame.
September 28th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
The thing that pisses me off the most is the lack of even attempting to HIDE their WEAKNESSES in a game as important as this one at home.
After the KC game…..IT WAS FREAKIN OBVIOUS what the game plan should have been against the Donks….TO HIDE THEIR WEAKNESSES AND NOT FALL INTO BEING STUBBORN AND TRYING TO FORCE RUSSELL TO MAKE EARLY DEEP DOWNFIELD LOW PERCENTAGE THROWS AGAINST THE DONKS when he is freakin STRUGGLING!
Terrible Owner/GM…..Terrible coaching…..terrible game planning…..terrible scheming…..terrible strategy….terrible execution…..terrible EVERYTHING!
September 28th, 2009 at 2:24 pm
- Will someone please give DMAC some game film on Tiki Barber? And tell him that in high school and college he can get away with using the ball for balance but in the pros they will rip it from you.
-3 weeks in and the WR’s are always out of position, don’t fight for the ball etc. why does Sanjai Lal still have a job???
-If JRuss was progressing at the end of the season why are coaches changing his mechanics? If it wasn’t broken at the end of last season why did they try to fix it during the offseason. You don’t just go from 41.3% vs. 65.25% in the last four games of the season.
I thought JRuss’s problems last year were scheme and classroom.
Solution:
1. Fire Sanjai Lal.
2. Teach JRuss’s the concepts of the offense
3. Whatever they were trying to do as far as changing JRuss’s mechanics. UNDO IT!!!
4. DMAC meet Tiki Barber game film (hold the ball high and tight.)
September 28th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
Here is my thoughts on the game:
- The play calling by Cable is just terrible! I would love to see a “real” innovative player caller work with Bush & McFadden. I think Bush should get the bulk of the carries with McFadden getting about 10-15 touches with screens, sweeps, and a little at slot receiver. Instead, Cable uses these basic play calls that any team in the NFL will prepare for..and of course shut down this mindless offense!
- The fumbles from McFadden are unacceptable. I do not think he is a bust at all..Teams are putting 8-9 men in the box because they know all Raiders can do offensively is run the ball. And of course, JRuss can’t soften that 8-9 man front.
-JRuss is just terrible. I’m not sure he is a bust..but he needs to be on the bench! Put another QB out there and see if the offense improves. What to lose? If anything, it will embarrass Russell and hopefully make him work!
-Heyward-Bey should NOT BE ON THE FIELD! His routes are terrible, he cannot separate, and cannot catch..He will never succeed in this leaugue!
-I feel bad for the defense..I think every veteran on the team and probably every player knows that JRuss is not going to win games. I think QB situation is like a bad smell that will not leave the locker room. These men are professionals…they want to win. You think they want to get embarrassed? Yet, the coach is not playing the best players!
I could go on and on..about Al’s decision making..our head coach is clueless AND HE IS CALLING THE PLAYS!

When Heyward-Bey reached the sideline, Murphy berated him, we assume, for poor route running and something less than an all-out effort going for the ball. Teammates and coaches separated Murphy and Heyward-Bey.
Soon thereafter, Murphy and Heyward-Bey worked out their differences and talked about the things that each player saw on the field.

Tom Cable is in over his head. He’s probably a good O-line coach but offensive coordinator he’s not. I also believe he’s not ready to be a HC. He doesn’t make the tough decisions and making excuses for people should not be in his job description. Somehow I don’t think John Madden would be accepting the performances of the various players we’ve seen. He’d be running around screaming, hand waving and threatening everybody involved. Management by intimidation is sometimes a very useful tool. Too bad it’s not in Tom Cable’s toolbox. we have a so-called eam with absolutely no leadership at the player, coach and ownership levels. That kind of explains it all.

September 28th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
I was at the game yesterday. What I heard were several classless idiots chanting Russell Sucks at times when it didn’t even apply. Like when a blitzer came right through the line untouched for a sack and people chant “Russell Sucks”? They just looked like a bunch of idiots that don’t know sh1t about the game of football.
Does Russell suck? Maybe, maybe not. I know that I have seen him play much better than he has been. Even if he does suck, show some class. It was embarassing and basically sickening.
Do you think hearing that makes ANYONE want to play for the Raider Nation fan base? I had to witness Louis Murphy telling the fans in the Black Hole to shut up and support their team. I paid a lot of money to be there and I was pissed too but I guess I am old school. BTW I didn’t hear any McFadden sucks chants yesterday, how many fumbles did he have? He sure SUCKED yesterday. I guess if Russell ever gets better McFadden will be next in line as scapegoat. I know a lot of the play calling sucked too. Open your eyes wider people, it isn’t all Russell.
The bottom line is I am not an apologist for any team member, I just think people need to sack up or stay home.
BTW that was the worst game that I have ever attended and the officiating also had much to do with that. I have never seen anything like it and I know that I am not just Oliver Stone Jr here. There were sooo many bad calls, as well as several missed ones, that I saw live, in person with my own eyes. I know I wasn’t hallucinating because everyone around me saw it as well.
OK, feel free to fire away at me to your heart’s content. I now know that there are many fans in the Raider Nation that are just looking for someone to sh1t on.
September 28th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
UP
How many times did McFadden fumble the ball yesterday, 3? That doesn’t suck?
I guess fumbles are better than picks. In my book a turnover is a turnover regardless of who committed it. If you say Russell sucks you better realize that McFadden sucks too. Look at his numbers this year. How many times has he put it on the ground this year already? Don’t be scared to know the truth and it’s not hard to find…

Because of the low quality of football being played yesterday, I’m sure Krappy had many spontaneous crap explosions which probably contributed to the fan violence in the stadium.

Cutting or trading Russell only further sullies Al’s reputation.
This won’t happen.
He’s cut ties with 1st rounders before, but Russell is under the microscope and Al can’t take many more blows to his ego.
So either Russell’s a bust and Al looks bad.
Russell gets traded/cut and Al looks bad.
Russell gets traded/cut and looks good with a smart organization and looks terrible.
Al’s gonna let this ride for at least this season, IMO. He let these guys ruin his progress from last year.
DHB I think was the beginning of this slump. Get a fast guy that can get behind everyone.
How bout a possesion guy that moves the chains on 3rd down.
We all hope you’re right, Tommy. For our sake and yours.

Al doesn’t like legit head coaches, he thinks the hc is simply the guy to take the timeouts from the sidelines.
He thinks all we need are athletes and we will win. He hires and fires more HCs in the Bay Area than McDonald’s fires local managers.
Al…that doesn’t work anymore. The next Gruden you find, you need to keep him for the rest of your life. And let me clue you in…Cable ain’t no Gruden…hell, Cable ain’t no Norv Turner. I’m not sure if Jerry tweeted about this already, but are you aware of any measures the Raider organization is taking to prevent Krappy from unleashing his exploding poop torrent at the next home game?
Because if you aren’t there to assist your grandfather in diaper cleanup/containment, they’re going to need the National Guard to stop all the fan violence that will come as a result.
I’m sure Tom Cable will be addressing this issue throughout the week, Brian the Genital, but if you have any information on the matter please enlighten us.

Cable’s right in one regard, this team is not too far off.
If they play with intensity and violence like MNF, they’ll be in a lot of games.

Last year I thought Russel was making progress as a qb at the end of the season but someone said it earlier and was right not many other teams would let him keep starting with the performance he has put on so far. I really dont think this team is that far off from competing each week but the QB position is a big, big part of any team. Some teams just need someone who isnt great and can manage a game though. I think Cable needs to show the team that no one is untouchable really now. The short series I saw with Gradowski in game1 showed me he can read the feild better than Russel and can hit the short dump off passes Russel can’t even seem to make. In reality if someone can manage the game we got a shot almost every week. This will stop the defense from tiring out by the end of the game so they wont be on the feild all day long. As far as Mcfadden foes 3 fumbles are not acceptable. Start Bush and pound the rock and let Gradkowski complete short to mid range passes the keep drives going. Let Mcfadd have a few carries but also a few short screens etc as a wideout. Dont try to make him the every down back. Man our coaches need to give the team a chance instead of hindering them

DMac should be our slot receiver. He’s never going to make it as a RB in this league. He does his best when he’s got the ball “in the open”. He’s not built or able to go between the tackles. He just goes down to easily and that’s not going to change. Leave the RB positions to Bush, Fargas & Rankin if he’s still around.
Dmac has good hands and could succeed at the slot WR position. We could get a lot of mismatches with him there. Of course this all assumes we have someone who could get the ball to him. But, we all know the problem there. We had another converted running back who did well as a receiver (TE in this case). Remember Todd Christensen? He turned out to be a great receiver. I believe DMac too could make a great contribution is we played him in the right position – and, that’s not at RB.

Ooooooooooh groundbreaking comedy we got here today by Beecher. What has gotten into you today? Oh you must have broke a nail yesterday when you saw the Raiders not come out and wear those pink jerseys women wear at the games. It is okay Beecher, dont cry too hard about it. A little fairy pillow biter such as yourself should be concerned with baking cookies or taking the kids to soccer practice. This football stuff is very heavy for you I know but maybe you should get in where you fit in more often. The women’s empowerment meetings are a start

After watching the first three games, I do not believe Russel is the primary problem. Sure, is accuracy is terrible, but the real issue is the return of Al Davis’ vertical game. The rest of the NFL adjusted to Davis’ strategy back in the 1980s. I saw it with Jay Schroeder and Jeff George. The Raiders are still running the same offense they did in the 1970s. Run the ball, and throw it deep. Where are the quick slants and screen passes. Denver killed us with the underneath stuff. As long as Russel keeps taking seven step drops and chucking it down field, he is going to continue to take sacks and throw interceptions.

and bottom line, Al Davis can bleed silver and black more than all of us combined, there is a bottom line $$ that takes presidance over anything else.
45k in attendance at a game in September – maybe in December in a 3-13 season, but 1-1 divisional home game?!?

Ken Stabler= says Dmac needs 25 touches. you wanna go against him? He knows more football than you guys can ever know combined. Bush is cool and all but he just aint better than Dmac. Now the fumbles are not cool at all but we still have only seen one game where either guy has gotten more than 20 touches. so until then shut the hell up

^^^^^^^^Exactly! There were no TE sets….Miller wasn’t involved underneath, neither Stewart or Myers got involved….no ATTEMPTS and misdirection reverses, bubble WR screens, no quick outs, curl routes…..NOTHING……but running off tackle and then trying throwin LOW PERCENTAGE 25,30 to 50 yard plays….AND FAILING MISERABLY.
What a joke!

Richochet: awww…widdle waiderdoggy? You had to endure listening to your hero get booed? “classless idiots”? moron..they played good money to watch JaBlubberButt stink the place up.
And how precious are you to think that there’s an appropriate time to chant? See, ANY TIME to tell a piece of crappola that he stinks is pretty much a good time.
=========================
Does Russell suck? Maybe, maybe not. I know that I have seen him play much better than he has been. Even if he does suck, show some class. It was embarassing and basically sickening.
Richochet: Oh shut up, you whining little tool. Class would have been for Russell to state “game was on me” or “no, I’m not happy with where I am as a qb”. Instead he blames everyone but himself.
And saying ‘Does he suck? Maybe, maybe not.” MAYBE NOT? You’re a wuss, not to mention sorry. Like it or not, he’s the worst qb in the league. uH…MORON??? that means HE SUCKS!!
————————————-
Do you think hearing that makes ANYONE want to play for the Raider Nation fan base? I had to witness Louis Murphy telling the fans in the Black Hole to shut up and support their team. I paid a lot of money to be there and I was pissed too but I guess I am old school. BTW I didn’t hear any McFadden sucks chants yesterday, how many fumbles did he have? He sure SUCKED yesterday. I guess if Russell ever gets better McFadden will be next in line as scapegoat. I know a lot of the play calling sucked too. Open your eyes wider people, it isn’t all Russell.
Richochet: Again..aren’t you just so sweet? ‘poor widdle JR. quit picking on him. He’s my hero. Don’t hurt his feelings”
Here’s a tidbit for you. Fans have watched Russell suck for THREE WEEKS STRAIGHT. Booing everyone takes away from the message of “YOUR ACT IS OLD, RUSSELL. YOU ACTING LIKE A BLASE’ PRIMA DONNA IS OLD. YOU THROWING PLAYERS UNDER THE BUS IS OLD. YOU BLAMING EVERYONE BUT YOURSELF IS OLD.”
=============================
The bottom line is I am not an apologist for any team member, I just think people need to sack up or stay home.
Richochet: LMAO..not an apologist? YOU’RE BEGGING EVERYONE TO QUIT CALLING OUT RUSSELL. What do you call it? Besides hanging on his sac, that is?
Oh..and you want “everyone to sack up, or stay home”?? lol..sure, weenie, just because you say so.
Everyone should just pay their good money..and what? POLITELY CLAP AT THE EFFORT?? Oh..I know..cheer that Russell actually gets to the huddle without stopping a hotdog vendor?
hey, I know..maybe YOU should stay home..with your poster, and your JaJabbathebigButt poster and his bobblehead doll?
===========
Richochet: ahhh..got it…WAS THE REF’S FAULT THAT RUSSELL HAD A 22 RATING??
Let’s summerize your post, cupcake. You think everyone should treat JR like a fragile child..don’t boo..politely watch..and if that fails, blame the refs?
Good one, cupcake.

This team will need to seriously consider bringing in Michael Vick next year.
Because of the antique offense THEY run….you need someone who can improvise on the fly…draw a play in the dirt and use his legs when the receivers disappear
September 28th, 2009 at 3:19 pm
Start Bush and RB and put DMC as the slot and change of pace RB…it will cause matchup problems for defenses.

Seriously, when a guy can barely string together a sentence, he should not be the starting QB. That might be okay for RBs and WRs, but you can’t have half-wits playing MLB, C, or QB.
September 28th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
Quite frankly, until Al Davis hires a competent coach and allows said coach to have full control of his job…this will continue as it has for the last 24 years.
Michael Vick will at least provide some excitement
September 28th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
Funny how no-one in here for the past 2 days has made a comment about the collapse of the O-line yesterday? Too many people out for JR’s head. The reason we didn’t run the ball was because there where NO holes? We had 9 first downs for the game. Who was protecting the QB? The RB’s? Only time JR had time to throw was out of shotgun, and damn little of it! Our recievers do not know how to seperate, or when. They do not see the line collapse and the QB trying to get the ball to them, we as a team were not prepared to play yesterday. Our D had some fine moments, but were on the field way too long! Maybe film will wake some people up.

We should just out right stop drafting skill players and build inside out from now on. If you have a dominant O Line you can have an average QB and still put up points.
If we have a good D line natural pressure will happen for the D and we dont have to blits or lbs because we never do anyway.
Im telling you, if we can start drafting from the inside out, thats the onlt way we have a chance to rebuild this team, not by adding decoys and toys for Al

SnB you really went off the deep end after this loss. Everyone is acting like we were some super bowl ready team that is off to a horrible start. What did you guys expect this year? We’re gonna be a competitive team by the middle of the year that will upset a few teams and lose some games that we should have won. Somewhere in the 6-7 win area. Just be patient. McFadden does not need to be cut. If that happened, I guarantee you there would be a lot of good teams waiting to pick him up.

SnB, Cable just needs to have the balls to run the team. That’s what Gruden did. That’s what Kiffin was set on doing. You’re going to be fired anyway. You’re going to be scapegoated anyway. So you’d might as well take charge. It just takes a small street degree. What happens is that Davis will get into the ear of guys like Cable and Turner and try to sell them on the notion that they’ll be the next John Madden. That the Raiders will win again, and they’ll be along for the whole ride, if they just work with Al and not try to take over the team. Of course, the obvious catch is that they will not win because Al is crazy and has no idea what he’d doing anymore in regards to football operations. But guys like Cable and Shell and Turner have nowhere else to go. So, they really have no choice but to believe Al. Where is Cable if he’s not head coach of the Raiders? On a sled somewhere. Kiffin knew he’d have something elsewhere because of his dad. Same with Gruden. They had the capital to martyr themselves. Cable’s next stop after Oakland is bagging groceries at Safeway, and he knows it. So when Al tells him,, “stick with me. It’s going to happen. We’re going to be huge, you and me”. After week one, I thought Cable was coming around to it but obviously he’s not.

IM STILL SCRATCHING MY HEAD OVER TURDELL SANDS BEING SIGNED BY NEW ENGLAND.

Anyone hearing anything about Davis being broke, and the reason for him not planning any big events for his 80th bday was due to this (he said it was out of respect for the economy and not showing off, etc)? Also that he’s trying to sell even more of the team to gain working capital? If that’s true, the Raiders won’t exist anymore. Think the NFL is going to bail Al Davis out if he can no longer afford to run the team financially?

So what the heck are we going to do with Jamarcus Russell? Whats going on?
September 28th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
McFadden needs to be cut…outright. Michael Bush is a FAR better option than McFadden. He gets paid too much to be a 3rd down back…and he isn’t even good at that! He’s not very explosive and that 40x doesn’t translate to the field. His catching ability is marginal and the guy just doesn’t make plays of note.
You need to give Michael Bush the ball 25x and let him wear down the opponent. Like Mike Singletary (a real competent leader of men) does with his offense.

Since the Raiders paid $60M for the guy. Might as well see what he can do with Schilens in the lineup. If he fails there then I would CUT him outright too.
Trade for Michael Vick and let him improvise

I really believe Javon Walker needs to be out there. Hes been there, done that and we need to see if he can be a more reliable option at this stage. No?
September 28th, 2009 at 3:49 pm
I told y’all that this f’n fat boy will be a BUST should of gone with our real need RECIEVER which would of given us Calvin Johnson! Then wait and could of picked up Flacco or sh!t why not Ryan but NOOOOOOo this old senile goat fell in love with the big arm and one that one good game he had agaist a horrible Notre Dame defence. JaFATs0 is a BUST!
September 28th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
schilens is a BUST as well!
September 28th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
HEY 24
JAVON WALKER IS GETTING THE MARCUS ALLEN TREATMENT HE IS HEALTHY AND AL IS MAKING HIM STAND THERE.

SnB – I wouldn’t go after Vick. He was never a good QB regardless of his athleticism. I say trade for Kevin Kolb instead if you’re going to go that route but I’m not sure the Eagles would let that happen.
September 28th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
how dare him have #81!!
September 28th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
we should of went with calvin johnson!!

UP Loco, New England has scouts in Oakville, and always picks up our trash, and turns them into treasure. It’s the NE way! That’s why they win so many games! Simple, we don’t develope our players to be winners anymore!
September 28th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Real MR,
The root cause of all this mess is Al Davis. I don’t blame these coaches for taking the job. The job still pays $1 to $2 million. That’s real bank and if you can survive a couple of years…your family is set. Who cares about reputation or what some stupid fan thinks of you. Just nod and say yes-sir boss and do your time until you are fired.
Also, of the 21 or so 1st and 2nd round picks…only 3 are not BUSTS (Nnamdi, Seabass, Howard)….3 out of 21!
Those players can play. Its the antique playbook, pisspoor playcalling and general chaos that is the Oakland Raiders organization
September 28th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
I’m not ready to give up on McFadden or Russell.
If they were used properly, they’d be productive. Besides, McFadden hasn’t had the opportunity this season to really show off. The fumbles are a major setback.
Hopefully it’s one really bad game and not the story of the season.
Houston will be a crucial game across the board for the owner, organization, coaching staff, players, and fans.
If we see more of this vertical nonsense, we might as well write the season off.
I didn’t think I was ready to that just yet, but yesterday’s performance was really sad.
September 28th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
UP LOCOMOTIVE – Thats the strange thing. Why pay Walker all that money to sit on the sidelines? We desperately need a veteran presence out on the field and not 2 rookies. Murphy is pretty good but its just not working out for DHB just yet and thats ok but put in Higgins or Walker.

Kolb is a backup QB. Matt Cassell II…forget that crap. The only QB that can win here with this antique offense is an improvisor. And yes, he might not win often but at least he gives you a chance on every play.
Look at Andrew Walter. He looked just like Russell in 2006…its a freekn joke so stop wishing on the next guy to boo out of here.
Davis needs to relinquish control and he won’t do it
September 28th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
SNB, of course the root cause is Al Davis. The point I’m making is that Cable’s working at Safeway in a year, no matter what happens. He might as well make a run at it and just coach the team his way, and even risk being Kiffin’d for it. Overhead projector style, baby. If he puts up some wins, or even gives pro and college programs the impression that he’s genuinely trying to and that it’s really Al holding him back, he can parlay his time here into a head coaching gig somewhere else in the NFL or the college 1A level, like Kiffin and Gruden. He just sits back and let’s Al pull his strings, it’s “paper or plastic” in one year.

i’m hearing the obvious, yet no one is talking about john marshall’s sorry defensive scheme. we have three safeties and you’re going to put ricky brown on a wide receiver on third down ? we give horton all day to throw and we still don’t blitz. seems like everytime denver ran the ball they were getting 7-8 yards a pop. with the speed we have on defense we need to blitz. it’s rob ryan all over again. there’s no f@%&en way we let horton beat us ( pathetic ). seymore should play inside on obvious run downs then end on pass downs.and you don’t put a linebacker on a wr. on obvious pass downs !
