Gee…never thought I’d be at the top…
Good Morning, Nation!!!
September 29th, 2009 at 6:08 am
This is where the Raiders usually pack it in and go on a long losing streak and go into the tank all the way.
I still believe there is hope. We just have to fight!
Yeah JaMarcus sucks, but he could get better.
Yeah McFumble coughed up the ball, but he can fix that.
Yeah the D got run over, but they were on the field all day and demoralized by the lack of production by the O.
ALL of these things COULD turn around quick with focus and effort! COME ON!!!!!!!
September 29th, 2009 at 6:13 am
I agree with Copenhagen_Fan…..there’s still hope. Unfortunately, I’ve felt the same thing about this time of year, every season since 2003.

Cable said he believes 90 percent of the roster “gets it” in terms of a standard of performance it takes to succeed and that “we’ve got 10 percent that we’ve got to get there as coaches. We’ve got to improve them. We’ve got to get them to a point where they can go in and perform like the other 90 percent.”
Cable conceded Russell is part of the 10 percent!

Morning, Nation.
Are you guys really making lists of who doesn’t get it after some ballpark ‘10% of the team’ statement?
Green doesn’t belong on the list. Neither does Walker. Those are veteran guys. You may not like Green’s penalties, but I’m sure you liked his run blocking skills, especially after Mike Bush gouged TB for 177, almost exclusively to the right side.
No, those two don’t belong.
DHB sure does.
Of course, they’re not giving him any help.
They like Kelly, or at least the company line suggests as much.
It’s one bad game. If they recover quick, it’s just an ugly loss and fuel for the rematch in Denver (kinda like last year).
If we lose in Houston, then be nervous, because this thing could snowball.
Houston will tell a lot about the 2009 Raiders.
September 29th, 2009 at 7:19 am
YOU PEOPLE need to understand something. Heyward-Bey, Murphy, Schilens, Higgins & Miller all have success depending on Russell. It’s hard to say any of these guys aren’t getting the job done when the quarterback play has been atrocious.
sort of like when everybody felt sorry for Andrew Walter & Aaron Brooks for having that league’s worst starting o-line in 2006, I’m feeling sorry for our WR’s and TE’s for having the league’s worst starting QB this year.
Same goes for our LB’s. Hard to hang Brown, Morrison & Howard out to dry when the D-Line isn’t getting the job done. Say what you want about how good Ellis & Seymour are, but even they got dominated against Denver’s o-line. Warren/Kelly reverted back to last year’s poor play on Sunday, but our offense kept them on the field too long and gave Denver’s offense great field position against our D.
-a true fan
September 29th, 2009 at 7:20 am
As dissappointing as Sunday was the only options we have are to let the young offense play through this.
There is not just one thing to fix on offense.
The inexperience with our skill players is going to create mistakes. That is no different than any other team in the NFL.
Our problem is that our Oline provides very little margin for error for a very inexperienced group of skill players.
A stronger line is more consistent and would let JR hold the ball too long and still make a play etc etc.
Alot of inexperience at the skill positions and an inconsistent line is going to be difficult to watch.
Our only hope is to let the young guys learn and grow as we grind through a tough year.

Thank you. Some still can’t stand to hear it, but this is not a real team. This is a sideshow. It’s where careers go to die.
Good to see that you’re shooting us straight, Jerrah.

What’s wrong with the Raiders? Al Davis has a pulse! The Raiders will continue
to stink until they have an owner with a real commitment to the success of the team and the long term planning to recruit top personel, draft quality players and trade for players that will add and not subtract from the mix. At one point Al had Ron Wolf to do most of this but he let the man go. The Packers who sucked like the Raiders do now hired him and we all know the results. All the talk about what Al should do or who should be fired ,traded or punched is
a waste of thought and time. My only hope know is that the team gets so bad that either Al has a coronary or the league steps in and for the sake of the fans
and forces a sale to a responsible adult. I bet Eddie D would only be too happy
to buy in, after all, Al was the guy that touted Eddie to the Niners owners when they neededto sell the team. Wouldn’t that be poetic !
September 29th, 2009 at 7:23 pm
“jerrymac: Sure it bothers them, but I don’t know if anyone knows how to fix it. That’s up to the man at the top and everyone must follow his lead. ”
Look at Jerry revealing his spiritual side. Preach on, brutha!!

It’s up to the fans to drive a stake through the heart of this train wreck! All the pop- psychology and very funny comments are spitballs against a stone wall. Just imagin a boycott of Sundays at home games. A sprinkling of fans, almost nobody tailgating, merchandise sales in the tank. I hate to bring the league into this butwhat the f–k at this point they ought to declare Al unfit to run the team as his actions are detrimental to the league’s financial health in these tough economic times. Who knows, a psychologic evaluation of the man might achieve
results. Anybody?
