Miller returns, Bowie to IR

The Raiders placed defensive back John Bowie on injured reserve to make room for Justin Miller, who will return kickoffs Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Guard Brandon Rodd was added to the practice squad. Although Louis Rankin has a locker with a name plate and is still full of equipment,, the running back was signed to the practice squad of the Seattle Seahawks.

More to come later . . .

An impression of my entire section las Sunday as those two INT’s were leaving JaBiscuit’s fat, meaty hand: “WHO ARE YOU THROWING IT TO?!”

No to Tebow. I want a QB from the west coast.

Were we really terrible last week or is Dever a solid team??????????
    ====================================================

Denver has very good players on their offensive and defensive lines. But what really killed us is McFadden’s three fumbles. Think I am kidding?? Go watch the tape on NFL.com. In fact just watch the first two plays. You see McFadden cough up the ball that results in an 8 yard loss. Russell hits Bush on a nice pass in the flat for a good gain the next play but not near enough to overcome “McFumblors” mistake. Then “McFumblor” coughs it up again at midfield on the drive where we actually got points. Then, McFumblor coughs it up again at the Denver 4, sealing the loss.

I wouldn’t mind Tebow as an undrafted free agent. We could use another cheerleader to go along with Southwick.

    promote the intern!

    save some money Al!

Danny Southwick for starting QB & GM :)

Man you know you’re the fan of a sorry @$$ NFL team when you start talking about the NFL Draft three games into the season.

    LMAO!!!!!!!!

I am scared to watch the draft. Al may forget we are a football team and start offering guaranteed money to European Basketball players.

No reason for the Raiders to draft a QB we can’t develop them. It would be a waste of time and talent. Our only luck is to find one who has already been schooled on someone elses bench and bring him over with lots of cash and candy.

Does anyone think Al still hates Gannon because he did not have a deep ball cannon type of arm?

I’m curious about something, 4eva..why would you paste legends comment, and then copy and paste CJ’s comment from #13?

Is there a point to that?

    I know, I know,..thinking isn’t your forte’.
Just wondered why you would post someone else’s reply, under your name?

Be honest. You’ve been accused in the past of not being the brightest bulb, haven’t you?

    Just checking.

If Al never got to draft on the first day, we wouldn’t have our starting All World CB.

    Just saying.

Not surprising that someone would come to Al’s defense…umm, umm, umm…..how diapointing. : )

    Tebow?

Not unless you want rosaries and crusifixes on the Silver and Black.

I know he’s a firey guy and everything, but we already have three RBs, and I think that’s all he is.

Tebow doesn’t have the kind of arm Davis is interested in, IMO. We’d have to be moving in a different direction if that were the case.

Our only hope is that Al doesn’t realize that next year’s draft starts on Thursday night…hopefully he only wakes up for the late rounds on Saturday!

I’ll sneak in Thursday and Friday and draft only o-line, d-line and LBers. Al can draft all the WRs, CBs, TEs, and S he wants to on Saturday.

Really, most of the guys at the top of Al’s board should still be available on Saturday anyhow lol.

Actually, I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Lal to take the WRs to basketball camp. Learn to box out defenders, shield the ball from them, extend for the rock in the post. Actually jump for the thing.

As far as I’m concerned, Zach Miller is our best WR at this point. Let’s hope Chaz is in good form when he gets back, hopefully in time for H-Town, but I would still prefer he wait another week just to be sure he’s close to as 100 as possible and ready to rock.

    ***

He’s a smart kid, a hard worker, a leader and a winner. plain & simple. thats what you want in a QB. may not be able to throw 70 yards downfield, but who cares? He’s accurate. He can get the ball to the playmakers on offense. He won’t hold the O back or put the defense in a position to fail, like JR does

    LA to thebay,

I guess when you draft several thousand DBs, you are bound to get it right once. We’ll just ignore Bates, Washington, Gibson, Huff (two good games don’t take him off the sheet list), Buchanon etc etc etc

Well, either that or Gannon’s comment of “It’s not a tough place to work, it’s an impossible place to work. …… It’s an organization that is, in my opinion, dysfunctional”

    Gosh.

I wonder which one it was, lol?

Anybody have thoughts on a vet QB that might be on the market before the trade deadline this season? JRuss is just not cutting it, we have better luck with vets anyway. There is not another QB out there that would have a worse rating than Russell.

  • Einstein

JaBust Russell is a fat loser and he has body odor.

  • Einstein

Todd Marinovich and JaMarcus Russell, first round picks by the Raiders…. Need I say more? Stick with the VETS!!

  • Einstein

For all the Al Davis haters out there, I have a question, if all steps down, dies, etc.. and his son Mark takes over, what makes you think anything will be any different?

  • Einstein

This is my take on the Raider Hating that is so rampant lately. Look at it this way. All the “current” media, all of them, news, internet, tv, etc.. even broadcasters are at the age now where they once either played against the Raiders or rooted against the Raiders. The Raider teams they played or rooot against at that time were some of the best teams to ever dawn the Silver and Black. Tom Jackson, ESPN, as an example. Jim Nance (former player), Dan Marino, Boomer, Shannon, the list goes on and on. All former players who were smacked around by the Raider or watched their favorite teams lose to the Raiders. With all this being said, F THEM. F THEM ALL. They are just haters. We will return, and for the FIRST time in my life, I admit, it will only happen when Al Davis isn’t physically attached to this team anymore. He must go.

We just can’t shake Bowie, can we?

I think he needs to live with Nnamdi for a while, maybe he can flourish many seasons down the road.

Like someone else said, Gannon should be Russell’s QB/Life coach and keep the cheeseburger out of his mouth. Whoever that was, priceless.
