Napa DA to talk at 3:30 p.m.

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 at 1:28 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Slight change in plans. Napa County District Attorney Gary Lieberstein will hold a press conference at his office at 3:30 p.m. to explain whether charges will be filed against Raiders coach Tom Cable in regard to an alleged assault against assistant coach Randy Hanson.

An e-mail will be sent out in advance of the announcement, but may not be available before Cable talks with reporters at his post-practice press briefing.

Trying to spin things in your favor only works on others and cant work on me. Just stop. You will never win nor will you ever be right

Trust me, Cable and his attorney will know prior to this public announcement if charges will be filed. If charges are filed against him, Cable’s attorney will be able to make arrangements for a turn in time for Cable’s processing (booking). Assuming a judge is available, Cable’s bond will be set and he will bond out spending only a couple of hours in jail. It will all be handled civilly.

********STOP THE FREAKIN PRESS (Long but a must read!!!)*****

Dakota – Thanks for the post by ESPN Analysts Trent Delfer and Hassellback. They pissed me off!!!!!

Who the heck wants to hear from Delfer and Hassellback? Especially Delfer!!! Delfer was one of the most pathetic QBs of all time. Delfer could not get off a 5 yard pass in traffic he was horrible for Tampabay. He would throw interceptions and get sacked constantly. Many Analysts said the guy had no pocket presence and was a pure diappointment in the NFL. Tampabay had a great team but they would loose every year in the play-offs mainly because of Dilfer’s horrible play. They had to dump this guy becuase he could not complete a decent 5-10 yard out. Dungy stayed with this guy, defending him constantly to the media. In the end it cost Dungy his career and Chucky took Dungy’s team lead by Brad Johnson to the Superbowl to beat the Oakland Raiders (our squad man!!!). Delfer would get booed almost every game and the NFL Analysts that Delfer is trying to portray hated this guy!!!! He went to Baltimore and their defense was so strong they carried this guy to the superbowl.

He was considered an H Back with Baltimore. No not a half-back a “Handoff Back” they would not let him throw a pass unless it was highly monitored and the WR was wide open. Every game he played in Baltimore the announcers would say “all Dilfer has to do is throw the ball away and just don’t do anything stupid to blow that game.” What a hypocrite Nation!!!!

I am not saying Russel with his weight and issues is not well deserved but this guy is taking a beating from a bunch of “has been clowns.” I am so glad the Raiders don’t talk with ESPN, they don’t deserve it man. They make up a story when there is no story. How do they really know what Russel thinks about the game after getting payed a big pay check? Are they just jealous? They are not in this guy’s head. They have no idea what his preparation is like w/o being there. Most of the analysts making comments heard the comments from other analysts. That is their source another media source. I guess if Russel looked more like Dilfer and Hasselback he would be saying give this kid time to develop he has went through a lot with this franchise. It is true man!!!

Lets talk about Mr. Gannon’s preparation. Well Gannon, if you are reading this I guess Russel has one thing up on you at this point in his career he never threw “FIVE INTERCEPTIONS IN ONE GAME, WHICH HAPPENED TO BE THE BIGGEST GAME OF HIS LIFE!!!!” What type of preparation was that Captain America? Did the pressure get to you a little bit. I guess Chucky knew how weak your arm really was and he knew you could not improvise because you were a good study and a system QB.

“The Buccaneers defense held the Raiders to just 19 yards on the ground, and they picked off quarterback Rich Gannon five times, including three that were returned for scores, as they knocked off Oakland, 48-21, for their first Super Bowl championship.”

You see the media paints any picture they want to paint. I hope Russel has one heck of a game against the Jets. I want to see this young man succeed so he can shut these sorry @$$ x-players like Dilfer up! If it was not someone taking time with Dilfer and no other QB talent out there available for Baltimore he would have never went to the super bowl. Baltimore could not find anyone else so they chose Dilfer until they transitioned to another QB. Dilfer calls himself a Christian what a hypocrite; he knows darn well he could not make any of the throws he is referring to in his article. He was not consistent at all, not one bit. Most teams just carried him as a back up, just in case.

Check out Hasselbeck’s bio it speaks for it self. These guys were so sorry all they could be were analysts. How pathetic!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Hasselbeck

What a joke, don’t throw stones with “glass arms” gentleman.
    ———————————————————————————————————

ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer played quarterback for 14 seasons with four NFL teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, whom he quarterbacked to the Super Bowl title in 2000. “My problem with JaMarcus Russell,” Dilfer said, “is that he’s not improving, not putting his best into the position to be successful. When you look at it closely, you can’t find any excuses for this guy.”

I don’t think Cable will be charged. But it’s not because he’s innocent. Politically, there’s no gain in Napa’s DA office pressing charges. Only a slight risk in it, considering the business the Raiders bring in every August. Raiders’ training camp doesn’t make or break Napa, but again, there’s no risk in dropping the charges, as I seriously doubt Napa county’s voters are watching this closely and demanding charges. There’s only slight risk in going through with it. The political choice is for them to drop the charges. Then of course, whoever makes the final call at Napa’s DA office might be a moral crusader, and file the charges, as well. There’s more than enough evidence beyond reasonable doubt. Remember, Davis shills, BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT, that means you don’t need video tape. We’ll see shortly.

And the testimony of Raiders’ employees means absolutely nothing. They’re only looking for someone to come forward and describe an assault. An employee saying nothing happened holds no weight, and doesn’t refute anything. In fact, it’ll likely be inadmissible in the trial. They’re being paid by the company which employs the defendant, for crying out loud. Get real.

Not only is Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn disappointed with his playing status, but the former first-round pick could lose millions if he doesn’t play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers.

According to Quinn’s contract, he needs to play 70 percent of Cleveland’s offensive snaps this year to earn two bonuses worth a combined $10.95 million. Quinn played 2½ games (10 quarters) this season before being benched in favor of Derek Anderson.

OK StrahanMaddenRaider, first of all the politics are insignificant. The DA is just being VERY thorough knowing that the media and the Raider legal team will be watching every detail.

Second of all, you have NO IDEA if there is enough evidence. The only insight into available evidence comes from the victim and his lawyer.

    Dilfer is a D-Bag!
Saw him play in HS, down in Aptos, only reason he QB’d was his divorcee mom married the HS Football Coach.
Played pretty good at Fresno, and then STANK it up for years in the NFL. Ravens won the SB in spite of him, and he never was more than a ‘game mgmt’ QB. He’s just bitter that he didn’t have the tools that JR has…but he’s got a mancrush on Sanchez, surprise, surprise….

Blackout area is significant. I am down in Santa Barbara and it is blacked out all the way down here. Also, the game a week or two ago against the Giants was dropped by CBS around the 4th quarter due to what the network perceives as a low viewing audience.

Goodel says the NFL is fortunate to stay on free TV? That is baloney. The NFL year after year is the biggest money maker for advertisers of all sports and non-sports. Just more news-speak from the people in control.
