Raiders-Jets blacked out
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 at 2:34 pm in Oakland Raiders.
The Raiders game Sunday against the New York Jets Sunday will be blacked out locally because it failed to sell out 72 hours before kickoff.
It is the third consecutive blackout. Bay Area fans will instead get the only CBS offering _ Carolina at Buffalo.

Not only is Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn disappointed with his playing status, but the former first-round pick could lose millions if he doesn’t play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers.
According to Quinn’s contract, he needs to play 70 percent of Cleveland’s offensive snaps this year to earn two bonuses worth a combined $10.95 million. Quinn played 2½ games (10 quarters) this season before being benched in favor of Derek Anderson.

Lol, now we know why Derek Anderson keeps playing…if Al was pulling this the media would be all over it!!!! (said using my best paranoid BHP/Lefty impression)

And the testimony of Raiders’ employees means absolutely nothing. They’re only looking for someone to come forward and describe an assault. An employee saying nothing happened holds no weight, and doesn’t refute anything. In fact, it’ll likely be inadmissible in the trial. They’re being paid by the company which employs the defendant, for crying out loud. Get real.

How wrong can you get? Of course the wotnesses testimony would be admissable. They’re not married to Cable. Employment means nothing when you are under oath.

Well, now that the Governator has signed legislation allowing the LA Statium to be build, it is just a matter of time before Oakland loses its franchise once again anyhow….
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Blacked out again?
Dang.
Come on, Raider Nation.
Didn’t Howard call you punks out?
No matter, a win is what we need. The fans will return when the wins do.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Bo, “witnesses”. LOL. You’re funny. The DA and the jury will be thinking exactly what I’m thinking….witnesses to what? I thought nothing happened?
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:46 pm
Of course it’s blacked out. In this economy, going to an NFL game is tough purchase. Going to a Raider game? Which is a waste of money no matter how good the economy? Out of the question.

Correct Bo, the jury would be allowed to hear their testimony if it was relevant….and the jury would then have to decide how much weight to put on the fact that they are Raider employees.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Hey the black out is a good thing for those with sore eyes after watching DHB stink it up for 6 straight games! Go Chaz, get that bobsledder off the field!
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Dakota, it’s Quinn’s fault for agreeing to such a stupid deal. He had to have known there was a good chance he wouldn’t be getting that many snaps.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:49 pm
“when Crabtree surpasses DHBs catch total in the first half this weekend….”
Possibly on the first drive.
Where’s Vegas at, we need the over/under.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:50 pm
God, I cringe thinking about the heat the Raiders are going to take when Crabtree surpasses DHBs catch total in the first half this weekend….
…should have drafted Monroe.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:51 pm
Russell is texting Quinn right now…”shouldave held out for the mulla!”
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Dakota, exactly my point. Bo thinks Cable’s lawyers would be able to get people as dumb as Raider fans on the jury. People that would actually take the testimony of Raiders employees seriously. Ha ha ha!!!!
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
DHB is not comparing himself to any other rookie wr. how could he? murphy has him burned and sits just a locker away…
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:54 pm
Hmmmmm, Lakers-Nuggets or Grey’s Anatomy and Flash Forward tonight…decisions decisions…..
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:54 pm
There is not one single American outside of the Davis Nation that would take the testimony of a Raiders’ employee seriously. Soon as they’re being sworn in the jurors will be trying not to laugh.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
I heard that if Hanson doesn’t get Cable prosecuted, his backup plan is to make Cable go on Bully Beatdown.

Check it. There are 28 rookies with more receptions than DHB…Meanwhile DHB has 1 more reception than Michael Oher the Ravens 1st round OT.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:01 pm
Carolina and Buffalo. I think I’ll go outside and watch the grass grow instead. Has to be more interesting than that dog matchup.
Thanks again, NFL! I’d really like to go to the game. I really would. But ya know, laid off months ago, mortgage, bills, food. All those little things keeping me away from shelling out money to see the Raiders when all I’m asking for is a lousy 3 hour window to see my team from my living room….. while I still have one.

Dilfer is a D-Bag!
Saw him play in HS, down in Aptos, only reason he QB’d was his divorcee mom married the HS Football Coach.
Played pretty good at Fresno, and then STANK it up for years in the NFL. Ravens won the SB in spite of him, and he never was more than a ‘game mgmt’ QB. He’s just bitter that he didn’t have the tools that JR has…but he’s got a mancrush on Sanchez, surprise, surprise….
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:07 pm
Why compare DHB and Grabgreed in the first place? They play two different positions. The better comparason would be Schillens and Grabgreed who play the same spot. Both are possession guys. Neither has played a down this season. Of course, Chaz has a year under his belt but he is a 7th rounder and “Greed” was a first. I’ve been saying all along that it would have been even a bigger waste to take that “Greed” since we have a good possession guy all ready. Some people just don’t seem to get that here.

You’d think with the Economy in the DUMPS, that the League would have suspended all blackouts for this season. But no, they got to try and squeeze every last cent they can out of the fans.

Oh Barack did this to the economy. The economy wasn’t already in the toilet and going down faster and gaster when he took office huh? But it’s his fault. People just can’t wait to blame Obama for what has been coming for having Bush for 8 years. What hapened? Forgot about that guy? But less than a year in office and everything is his fault? Idiot. Take a look at the economy over the past few years and tell me then if it is Obama’s fault.

Not me….I gotz the Sunday Ticket….which is like GOLD!
LOL….So, I’ll be seeing the Raider game as well as ALL the games!
