Third quarter: Chargers 21, Raiders 13

News and notes from the third quarter of the Raiders’ game Sunday against the Chargers in San Diego:
– Louis Murphy reverse puts Raiders at San Diego 18-yard line on last play of quarter. Raiders driving nicely following Gary Russell fumble recovery. JaMarcus Russell gets lucky with careless first-and-10 pass which Eric Weddle can’t handle.
Really need a touchdown here. Third quarter defense was among best of the season in every area.
– Stanford Routt blitzes and forces a third down incompletion from Rivers. Raiders get ball back and desperately need to make a play in the passing game. Instead, Russell sacked on third down when Zach Miller never sees blitzing safety Steve Gregory.
Huge break _ Sproles fumbled ball away to Gary Russell.
– Seabass converts 41-yard field goal, capping 29-yard, eight-play drive, getting another three points out of prime field position. Raiders scoring drives have totaled 60 yards and 19 plays for a touchdown and two field goals.
By contrast, the Chargers three scoring drives _ all touchdowns, have gained 217 yards in 22 plays.
– Nice play by free safety Michael Huff to break up Rivers’ third down pass on San Diego’s first possession in the second half.

JR thinks his “strong” arm can make up for bad footwork – NOT. All it gets us is incompletes & INTS. He doesn’t position his feet correctly – stepping into the pass. That’s why he’s so inaccurate. He’s been here long enough to fix that problem if he’s going to.

Funny game so far. Cable is just not giving the Team a chance continuing to play JaMarc. The guy has no feet… 40 year old Farve dances in the pocket, JaMarc looks like a statue. We will never win with him, NEVER.

Nope. Its the “Al Davis Show” doesn’t matter who coaches, plays or othewise.
I am actually pleased with what I saw today. They played hard for most of the game and did the best they could with the limited talent and intelligence on the field and in the front office.
They tried their best and didn’t embarrass the Nation.
