Cable is Mum because AL hasnt told Cable what he will be doing in regard to the RB's yet. By Sunday @ 1:00 Cable will have full instructions.

Just win despite it all baby!

Jhill,

They have tried all those things with Darren so far when he has been healthy, he just hasn't done a whole lot with it. They split him out wide opening night, threw him a short pass and had room in front of him and he dropped it. Drive-killer. Same with his fumbles, and h ehas been injury-prone. That leaves Fargas, great backup, below-average starter, and twinkle-toes Bush, who will probably leave after this year anyways.

If Darren doesn't do anything the next 8 weeks, RB would be a need, IMO. But a big, physical guy, not a super-fast guy. I want Jonathan Dwyer from Georgia Tech.

I can't see us taking a RB.

We need to settle on one guy, and give him the bulk of the touches. DMAC needs to be on the field, IMO. I just don't think he is being used correctly. Get this kid in space and DCs will need to account for him. Line him up in the slot, throw screens and flares out of the backfield, and run him to the edges.

Vegas,

I understand the pessimism, but Al rarely drafts a position that isn't actually a need, IMO. He may screw the pick like DHB over Crabs, but he does actaully take positions that we need.

DHB and Mitchell were good examples of need picks, but bad execution by the GM. Not knowing what we had in Huff, and losing Baker and Wilson made S a need pick. With our leading WR having something like 30 catches last year, WR was also a need.

I firmly believe that you take a potential impact playmaker as high as we were in the draft. With not much to choose from, I wanted Maulauga or Percy Harvin at 7. I really had no problem with a S in rd 2 other than the fact that no one had heard of him.

Oh well ...

Jhill,

I think we really need a 3rd DB badly, so a 2nd or 3rd rounder spent on a nickel corner could really improve the team, especially on 3rd downs. Can't see a safety early, but I wouldn't put it past Al to draft some fast S in the later rounds.

The next games will really determine whether we need to draft a RB, IMO. I'm beginning to think neither of our 3 RB's are very good, although Darren has a chance the next games to build on something.

I like the idea of drafting a "natural" RT in round 2, like Loadholt last year for the Vikes. But we will probably draft a LT in the first round, move him to the right side and watch him struggle.

I DO think we need a nickel corner though, so a DB in rd 2 might be an option.

No way we draft Mays with Branch and Huff playing well enough to keep Mitchell off the field.

We might need to think about trading Huff to get Mitchell on the field.

But realistically, our DB situtaion is far from settled.
