Ellis inactive
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, November 15th, 2009 at 12:03 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Defensive end Greg Ellis, two weeks removed from arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder and knee, is one of the Raiders inactives for today’s game against the Chiefs.
Ellis was limited at practice Friday and coach Tom Cable floated the idea throughout the week that it was possible the veteran could play, although it may well have been a bit of misdirection intended to keep the Chiefs guessing.
Rookie third-round pick Matt Shaughnessy will start in place of Ellis at left end.
With Chaz Schilens active for the first time, Todd Watkins will be inactive.
In a mild surprise, Langston Walker will be active for the first time and Khalif Barnes inactive. Barnes started the last two games at right tackle. Cornell Green makes his return to that position after being out four games.
Other Raiders inactives include LB Ricky Brown, G-T Erik Pears, WR Javon Walker and WR-KR Nick Miller. Charlie Frye is the third quarterback.
Inactives for the Chiefs are CB Donald Washington, S DuJuan Morgan, LB David Herron, LB Justin Rogers, WR Bobby Wade and DE Sean Ryan. Matt Gutierrez is the third quarterback.

November 15th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
come on raiders! Like JaBUSTUS Russell said..”Dis here i reckon be a must win game i reckon”
November 15th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Barnes should be ashamed of himself!
Walker came off the street and is already ahead of him on the depth chart?
Emabarrasing!
Pears and Barnes were starting for us, now the are both inactive, lol!
Yeah, Oline wasn’t a problem.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Shaughnessy will do a good job.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
I expect to see heavy running with Gallery and Cornbread back.
Of course we can bank on 2 false starts from Cornbread. Let’s just hope it’s on 2nd and 1 instead of 3rd and 6.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
Oline has always been the problem. Until Al Davis starts drafting linemen in the first round, we will continue to suck.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
Agreed, Kirk.
I’d like to see Bryant get the start over Warren too. Might as well bring in the young guys at this point.
Also, time to bring up young Slade fromt he practive squad.
John Alston? Yeah, right!
November 15th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
I actually think we might be on the road to being ok, Kirk.
Henderson, Gallery, Satele, and Walker is a nice 4 some. Green and Carlisle would be solid backups.
Just need a starting caliber RG, IMO.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
jhill, I hope you are right.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
If Shaughnessy plays like he did in San Diego there is no cause for concern
Schilens back is best news of this season

Bush and Fargas combine for 13 yards in 2 plays…
Then Cable goes to the Wild Sht Formation for 5 yards followed by a 2 yard pass and a punt.

wtf 50 yarder
November 15th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
Haley asked one of his players…
“You don’t want to play today do you?” lol
Cable is scared to ask his players this question because he already knows the answer.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
That was a bad pass by Russell, all right, but a good receiver would have had it.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
Jabust sucks bench fat arse
November 15th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
Bad pass to Murphy…still should have been caught though.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Sure is nice to play a team that shoots themselves in the foot even more than we do.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:50 pm
If Sea-Bass looks better than I’ve ever seen him.
Too bad he couldn’t play QB for us.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:50 pm
Nothing is good abt this team, nothing exciting Al Davis give up your power u moron
November 15th, 2009 at 1:51 pm
in these current financially & strategically poor times…the new Raider motto will be….
Just Cover Baby!
November 15th, 2009 at 1:51 pm
That was a hideous screen….. Way to go Sea Bass…. well worth a number one pick (only took 9 years)!
November 15th, 2009 at 1:52 pm
Well at least we got something out of it…..
November 15th, 2009 at 1:53 pm

November 15th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Doesn’t look like there’s much of a crowd.Al should walk round and shake everyone’s hand and thank them for coming.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Tommy Kelly — well worth the big contract!
November 15th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Dang, if we had an offense, we’d win this one by 30 points.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Is there another stream? The one on that EPLsite just died.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
The Raiders are the only team I have ever seen who just simply REFUSES to get off the field on 3rd down.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Any links?
November 15th, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Agreed 75,
3rd and 23 and we give up the first down?
LMFAO.
Why couldn’t Kelly jump offsides again and save us?
November 15th, 2009 at 1:57 pm

2 hour replay here for a 1st down.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:57 pm

November 15th, 2009 at 1:57 pm

November 15th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
A call goes our way!!!
November 15th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Anyone at the game, how many ppl are there?
November 15th, 2009 at 2:09 pm
Raiders give a 44 yard TD run on 4th and 1.
Sad
November 15th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
Dumbest team in America, u know they going to run why can’t you penetrate line of scrimmage and stop them?
November 15th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Russell made some good throws on that drive.
HB should have caught that pass on the goal line.
If it hits you in the hands you’re supposed to catch it.
