Third quarter: Chiefs 13, Raiders 10
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, November 15th, 2009 at 3:46 pm in Oakland Raiders.
No scoring
– Quarter ends with 2-yard Kolby Smith gain to the 22-yard line.
– Raiders recover Charles fumble at 50, Gradkowski replaces JaMarcus Russell, Raiders go three-and-out, wasting opportunity. Russell immediately had words with teammates, who looked as if they were attempting to calm him down.
– Cassell doesn’t see Bowe breaking free in the end zone, throws incomplete on fourth down as Raiders hold at the 13-yard line.
Chiefs had gained 23 yards on comical fumble sequence on completion to Bowe. Morrison caused fumble, while Raiders missed at least three chances to recover it.
– Bush runs six straight times for 38 yards, comes out for a breather, and drive falls apart deep in Chiefs territory. Third-down middle screen to Miller reaches the 6, called back because Samson Satele was downfield.
Russell’s third-and-15 throw under pressure should have been intercepted, but Brandon Flowers dropped it. Sebastian Janikowski followed by missing his first field goal attempt of the season, wide left, from 46 yards. He’d hit 13 in a row this season and 20 overall.
– First possession of second half, Chiefs get in position for 52-yard field goal attempt by Ryan Succop. He misses wide left. Raiders open at 43-yard line.

Cable just sealed his fate.
Benching the QB with 10 dropped passes and unlimited drive killing penalties?
Gradkowski better win this game or else Al will WITHOUT question fire this cat.
UNBELIEVEABLE!
November 15th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
Russell will go down as the worst #1 overall pick in history. The guy sucks. He’s bad at keeping in shape. He’s bad at preparation. He’s lazy. He’s stupid. He can’t throw accurate passes on most throws. He blames everyone else. He just sucks. Period. I can’t believe we even have this argument any more. What a waste of typing.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:49 pm
Now What??????
November 15th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
Cable is fugging clueless …
And he was doing so much better in the first half.
Just can’t respond to pressure AT ALL.
How about just giving the fugging ball to Bush and running PA off of that?
You know, the thing that got us the 10 pts we already have?
I cannot believe he benched a QB that should be up with that DHB TD drop and that Jano missed FG.
Cable is a fuggin CLOWN!
November 15th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
Did they say we were going to see a lot of
the “Paw Cat” today with McFadden. Nevermind
it looked like a kitten when they ran it.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
Now what? You sell the team to London. That’s what.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
RAiderTExas,
Its the RAiders organization to be at fault. Namely Al Davis. Who drafted Russell? Who gave him all of this “great” coaches? How about that receiving talent?
And Russell showed he was lazy at the combine…just like DHB showed he couldn’t catch the ball on his college film.
AL Davis is one of the most inept decision makers in sports. He drafts on one single attribute…athleticism and has no respect or comprehension for things like work ethic, chemistry, intelligence, intangibles etc.
THis is our team and they are competing. But don’t get yourself worked up in anger when they don’t win.
They are not going to win very many games for a long time. I just enjoy watching the games and hope for a competitive contest.
Today….albeit its bad…they are competing!
November 15th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
RAiderTExas,
Did you see Higgins on the punt return? TEam is just not prepared to play week in and week out.
It is what it is!
November 15th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
Ok it might be a good idea to mix it up a bit.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
does anyone know why mcfadden isnt being used?
November 15th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
Why has Higgins turned into our primary receiver today?
November 15th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
screw gradkowski.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
FIRE CABLE, HACKETT AND TOLLINER TOMORROW!!!
November 15th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
Its that time of the month for McFadden.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
I don’t disagree. The team is not prepared. Cable sucks. But for anyone to say that Russell is not part of the problem is just to not know football. Do you really think 99.9% of the football world is wrong about him? There are only a few lonely holdouts believing that this guy is NFL material. They’re just as stupid as him.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
Get Gradkowski out of there. Put in Frye.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
Fuggin byotch made ass Cable …
Grads with his pass thrown behind JLH for a pick.
LMFAO!
GAWD DAMN IT!
November 15th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
If it weren’t for Cable’s physique, he coulda been a great tennis player. His broads and Hanson seem to think his backhand is unstoppable.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
Frye is not allowed in unless one of our top
two Qbs gets hurt. Nfl rule.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
JHILL – That move Cable made was completely asinine. Dude is clueless. How the hell are these drops the QBs fault? NO QB WILL BE COMPLETELY ACCURATE. They all mis-fire.
He sealed his fate (definitely with me). If I saw it then I’m sure Al has seen enough. Al knows its a dumb freakin’ move.
He better win or his ass is grass tomorrow …the boss will have enough of it.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
Shaughnessy is beast though.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
WHat a shame…..
November 15th, 2009 at 3:58 pm
This whole team is going to cave in on CABLE. Everyone sees how bad of a move that was expect these dimwit fans.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:58 pm
Nnamdi is overrated, big time.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:59 pm
Screw Cable. He needs to be out of here tomorrow.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:59 pm
saying nnamdi is overrated is retarded
November 15th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
so nnamdi has a bad day once outta the past what? 3 years and he is overrated?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
No, it’s not retarded at all. The guy is a good corner, but why the Raiders don’t move him for a ton of value is beyond me.
He doesn’t make plays, and when tested he often gives up good chunks of yards.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
Disagree,
Nnamdi is overrated.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Actually Nnamdi doesn’t get thrown at much, but he
does give up a big play a lot. The last game vs. the
Chargers on that big 3rd down to Chambers, the Bears
game at home a few years back that we lost in the
4th quarter come to mind.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Nnamdi has more value for us as a trading piece than he does as a player for us. How bad have we been with him?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Is this a big play or what. Hold them to a field goal and then Grad will drive them down the field right?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
RaiderTexas,
Russell had question marks about him before the draft. ONly Davis was enamoured by that big arm. He showed up overweight to the combine.
He was a hit or miss prospect. Simple as that. Homerun or strike out. THat’s how Davis drafts….you do that for every draft pick you better hit a couple of homers.
But the Raider scouting department isn’t really all that saavy either.
SO here we are. YOu can blame the players…but half of them shouldn’t be on the field to begin with. That’s on the General Manager
November 15th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Nnamdi was the happiest guy in the AFC West to see Tony Gonzalez leave to ATL.

=======================================================
Yes, I relunctantly and sadly agree with you. I thought they should have traded him prior to the draft. But then again, the GM we have would just botch the picks/trade anyway.
Just enjoy watching Raider football fellas. There is only 16 of these a year. Then we sit an discuss draft and free agent talk and rinse and repeat.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
Cassell thinks he is John Elway.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
Succup sucks.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
Good stop, but it doesn’t matter.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
Nnamdi is brown noser also. Instead of walking the sidelines pumping teammates up like a leader, he stands near Cable commenting on the offense.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:07 pm
Miller has taken a step back this year as TE.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
Is there at least one KR in the world who can at least
run past the 25 yard line?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
Cable is a waste. That move was completely moronic. He’s trying to deflect blame and make the QB look bad. He & the coaches don’t have these guys ready to play. You have to think long and hard to come up with any team dropping this many balls in one game. Yet the HC takes the blame out on the QB.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
C’mon RAIDERS we can still win this game
November 15th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Put Russell back in and maybe we win
November 15th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Plenty of time for a dramatic Raider victory…
November 15th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
F’K it ….I already know we’re going to lose. The offense has probably already mailed it in like WTF is going on with the HC?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Well, Al Davis should be able to save money with this month’s water bill. Only Lechler should need to shower.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Raiders suck in Navajo too.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Lol, the Gradkowski move might have been the worst move of the year by Cable.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
would be nice to see what Jamarcus would do here
November 15th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
put russell back in the damn game! its not his fault today. WHY in the world is the ball not going to schilens????? ive seen him open!!!
November 15th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
LOL….sad so sad
November 15th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
I really want us to win this game I really do. But if we lose it will guarantee Cable’e termination. Right now today this very minute, I want Cable fired more than winning this game. Al Davis will draft the letter and check the bulbs in the projector this evening if we lose this game.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Well that was pretty pathetic…..
November 15th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Why don’t we bench Grad and try Frye now, maybe there is a light in the tunnel, that will be an injury to all three QBs, a death to the owner, season injury to DHB and Murphy, a pimp slap from Cable and finally an entire new kick and punt returners.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:17 pm
Soooo, 1st round pick goes to who? A QB or a LB?DT?CB?WR?RB?OG?OT?DE?K?P? LOL
November 15th, 2009 at 4:17 pm
504,
Absolutely, Cable and his entire staff must go…keep Dwaine Board for the D-Line…just get him a DT.
Have to hope that Davis can get lucky with one of these middling coaching hires.
Cable is the offensive coordinator….LOL
November 15th, 2009 at 4:19 pm
Lets talk Harbaugh.

—————
The worst move of the year was taking DHB in the first round. It’s a no-brainer.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
So if KC wins, does that mean the Raiders is the worst team in the AFC West or worst team in the whole NFL?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Yeah I think Cable has to go. This team does not improve and they continue to kill themselves-He’s got to go!!!!!
November 15th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
i have to agree with raidingtexas. watching crabtree catch passes with the niners is a tough thing to watch
November 15th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
Wrong again,
Worst move was naming Cable permanent HC.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
We can bench DHB, we can’t bench Cable.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
Well I gotta admit defeat. A bye-week and the come out no more prepaired that any othe Sunday. Cable, gulp, good luck with your next job. Nobody will come in here and correct this mess, but at least you tried.
Maybe Grad was Cables’ 70+ yarder (along Kiffin lines).
November 15th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
We should draft Colt McCoy. Has nowhere near the physical skills JaFlubber has, but he is a leader. Last time we chose leadership over physical skills was Gannon, and that turned out pretty well.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
Pulling Russell was a good move IF…
1) winning this game meant anything for this season
2) you had somebody worth putting in.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
Guys, can someone tell me whats good about the Raiders?

LOL — its sad how deep this team has fallen. It is a shame really. But at least they didn’t get blown out and had a couple of nice runs from Bush.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
McFadden for 0 yds…..familiar call
November 15th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Nice no gainer McFadden, you soft POS.

overturned because they are the Raiders
November 15th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
The biggest catch for DHBs career!!! No. Out-of-bounds. loser.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
wow
November 15th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
DHB is a bust
November 15th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Actually …the painful thing about watching Crabtree is they are actually using/targeting him the right way …to get him in the game to get him warmed up …you honestly don’t see that with DHB.
I was stunned at the difference between how they immediately targeted Crabtree vs what Cable marches out with every freakin’ Sunday.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
The NFl really feels sorry for us.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
Not meaning to pile on, BUT, Crabtree doesn’t drop that pass, lol.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
you’re not questioning Tom Cable’s coaching pedigree are you?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
Cables a dumb ass. Wait freakin’ 2 hrs to call a TO.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
DHB = POS
November 15th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
Look at Nnamdi go over to DHB. I bet he said:
Don’t worry man, we get paid tomorrow.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
DHB leads the league in worst hands category. He couldn’t catch a cold.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
Murphy was patting DHB on the back saying, “don’t worry, I dropped a ton of passes too, just none that will be on sportscenter tonight.”
November 15th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
I told you guys DHB is a bust
November 15th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE
November 15th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
He cost us the game, thats why he needs to be in the bench
November 15th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
DHB won’t get better, he will continue to drop passes at killer times for however long he plays in the league.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
2 weeks to rest and prepare. Pathetic
November 15th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
Whats the over-under on DHB talking about how well he’s “grading out”?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
What happened?
November 15th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
Al Davis drafted a complete bust #7 overall, among other things.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
Al told DHB “thats OK cause you run really fast”
November 15th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
Did he drop the ball in the endzone or what???
I lost the feed of course.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
He tip drilled it for a pick
November 15th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
DHB needlessly jumped like a ninny, bobbled an easy catch and it was picked – ballgame.
