Gradkowski’s reps increased last week
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 at 11:55 am in Oakland Raiders.
Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski was mum Wednesday on the subject of whether he would be the starting quarterback this week, preferring to let coach Tom Cable do the talking, but apparently his work load began to increase in the days preceding the 16-10 loss to Kansas City.
“I got a couple more reps last week than I have been,” Gradkowski said. “This week, we’ll just see. You’ll have to ask coach Cable.”
Regarding his increased work last week, Gradkowski said it was “just kind of switching things up a bit, just in case I had to go in there. Week after week I think the more reps I get the better I’ll be in the game.
During the Monday press briefing, Cable said Gradkowski had a hamstring issue which could factor in to the decision on the starter against the Bengals. Gradkowski seemed puzzled that it was an issue at all.
“It’s not a big deal,” Gradkowski said. “I don’t know why it got blown up, but I’ll all right. I feel good. It’s not going to limit me.”
The Raiders had a brief walkthrough before the open locker room session which occurs before practice. Ostensibly, a quarterback has been identified to work with the first team during practice. As the team came off the field, Gradkowski was walking with passing coordinator Ted Tollner.
Starting quarterback JaMarcus Russell was not in the locker room while the media was present.
More to come later . . .

So how do we end up having to rely on a QB that got released by two of the worst teams in the league?
Give me a break.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
Let’s start Micahel Bush at QB. He can throw the ball and will see much more playing time. Damn near same weight as Jadeadly.

QB is a moot point
2009 is a moot point
An AD-owned and run Raiders is a moot point
We need change…NOW!!!

Wow J-Russ finally shows progress then we bench him. I f you take away the 10+ dropped passes last week he would have been like 18 of 23….go figure…
Bench Cable….or get an O-coord.

Yeah, probably the only way to get the leading rusher and only running back to get over 100 yards rushing in the last couple of years on the field for more than 10 to 15 plays

I can see it now… 3 TE set… DMac at QB with Fargas and Bush in the backfield… just keep slammin’ that pigskin until the Bengals ears bleed… Throw? We don’t need to stinking THROW!!!

So Gradkowski got increased work last week and was still not effective with the WRs when he got in the game?
Can we see Frye? The guy who Jerry said WAY back in Preseason was by far the best looking of the 3? The guy who Cable says we are blessed to have? The guy who could easily be the coach on the field?
Hmmm!

move #2 down to 3rd QB for awhile & let that sink though his stocking cap into his head.

Face it ladies and gentlemen, neither the Frye-boy nor the Little Lebowski is even a short term answer at QB. Might as well let JaBling go for it again. Cable obviously is clueless as to how to generate anything except a truly odorous game plan.
Cleveland vs Detroit this week and later Oaktown vs Cleveland. For all the marbles. Yay!

What else can you expect. It’s not his fault anyway!
