Cable thought about going for two

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Monday, November 23rd, 2009 at 5:50 pm in Oakland Raiders.

More news, notes and quotes (at a better rate of connection speed) Monday and the weekly press conference with coach Tom Cable:

– Cable had two strategic decisions which worked in his favor during the 20-17 win over the Bengals.

First, facing a fourth-and-1 trailing 17-10 at the Oakland 47, Cable was booed for sending in Shane Lechler to punt. The Raiders had failed on a third-and-1 and nearly eight minutes remained in the game.

Lechler punted the Bengals back to the 10-yard line and the Raiders forced a three-and-out.

Oakland got a 12-yard punt return by Johnnie Lee Higgins _ good by the Raiders’ 2009 standards _ only to have Bruce Gradkowski’s deep pass to Louis Murphy intercepted by Johnathan Joseph when the quarterback was hit while throwing. Both Cable and Gradkowski contend a touchdown was there for the taking with better protection.

Later, when the Raiders tied the score when Gradkowski and Murphy ultimately hooked up, Cable’s decision was whether to go for two or send out Sebastian Janikowski to convert the extra point and put the game into overtime.

“We talked about it. My thought was we had battled to get there,” Cable said. “Let’s get to overtime and win it there. If we can get one more drive, I felt like we were getting into a rhythm offensively. I thought we’d be fine, but I did think about.”

Bottom line is he made the right call both times because the scoreboard says so. Strategically, it seems sound from here to put Lechler on the field to pin the Bengals back in their own territory on the first decision, and to trust the way the team had been playing defensively with regard to the second decision.

– Gradkowski had passes batted down at the line of scrimmage by Donata Peko and Frostee Rucker, and his relative lack of height (he’s 6.5 inches shorter than Russell) means he’ll have to look for windows at times instead of throwing over the top.

“I think moving in the pocket can help create lanes for himself,” Cable said. “As offensive linemen, you have to be aware of those things and his physical stature. We have a thing about jumpers and being more aware of it than the week before. Before it was kind of easy because JaMarcus was so much taller than everybody else over the top.”

– Defensive end Jay Richardson got his most extensive playing time because of the injury to defensive end Richard Seymour and responded with his best game with six tackles and a tackle for loss.

“I thought it was a real lift for our team,” Cable said. “Jay has not played a lot because of who he’s playing behind and he was needed yesterday. He stepped up and made some plays.”

Said Richardson: “You want to make sure you step up and do your job. Don’t worry about the added pressure, just do what you do best because we all have different styles up front.”

– The Raiders brought more blitz pressure than at any time since the win over Philadelphia, and Richardson was glad to see it.

“It helps you out because the offensive line has got some other things they’ve got to account for and in doing that they might lose track in what we’re doing up front,” Richardson said. “Blitzing forces them to have to think more, make some checks, and usually they’re going to have a bust.”

Not that he was all that thrilled with having to listen to Branch and Stanford Routt crow about their pass rushing skills.

“I’d rather us get the sacks up front, the defensive linemen,” Richardson said. “I’m always happy for the guys, but you’ve got to hear about it when they get a sack.”

– You don’t see a lot of instances when players get both the strip and the fumble recovery on the same play, but the Raiders had it happen twice with rookies against the Bengals. The last one, by Myers, was set up the winning points. Myers said the game was televised at his home in Iowa so friends and family got to see it, and he’s been fielding texts and phone calls ever since.

“It just happens so fast,” Myers said. “I was on the backside and I saw (Caldwell) cutting back, and I was just trying to make a play and luckily fell into it.”

Myers said it was the first strip and recovery of his career, including college, where he played special teams, and high school, where he played defense.

On the first series of the fourth quarter, with the Bengals up 17-10 and poised to go up by two touchdowns, defensive tackle Desmond Bryant stripped fullback Jeremi Johnson and recovered the fumble at the 14-yard line.

“It just worked out that way,” Bryant said. “I reached out to tackle him, I didn’t know if I was going to get him or not, but the ball came out, it was laying on the ground, I was looking at it and I thought to myself, `I ought to grab that.’ So I picked it up. It was pretty awesome to have that much of an impact.”

– It’s only one win, but to Murphy, beating the Bengals has created a Tsunami effect.

“I hope we can just keep riding this tidal wave,” Murphy said.

– Cable’s biggest concern are the big plays which the Raiders surrendered _ a 61-yard run by Bernard Scott, a galling 23-yard screen pass on third-and-22 to Scott, a 30-yard pass to Chad Ochocinco, a 15-yard reverse to Caldwell and a 40-yard pass play to Laveranues Coles.

“The big play is really an Achilles’ heel for us right now, something that has to be addressed,” Cable said. “Big plays are caused by a breakdown, a lapse by an individual, a missed tackle, getting out of the gap, blowing a coverage, something like that.

“When you take the big plays out of it, we’ve improved dramatically defensively. But it’s also cost us. We have to really put attention to that.”

– Cable wasn’t about to get into assessing Gradkowski as a potential longterm NFL starter along the lines of other off-the-beaten-path quarterbacks such as Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme and Jeff Garcia.

“I think Bruce did a good job yesterday, and we need him to do a good job again this week,” Cable said. “This will all sort itself out. To make statements like that right now would be ludicrous. Right now, as I said when I made the change, he is our best chance to succeed, so we’re going to keep riding it, keep pushing it, try to get better as a team. How it all turns out, time will tell.”

ive been thinking about the seymour situation and even if we dont resign him it still seems like he was worth the first round pick because of everything him and ellis have taught the young dlinemen so if he leaves the younger guys are ready to step up because jay rich and shaunessy have been balling when they get in not to mention dez at the dt spot

  5. Mistabrown Says:

16 with all due respect #4 is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read and thats saying alot in here!

If they dont extend Seymour that is the biggest blunder I’ve ever seen. You dont rent out players for 1 year for the cost of a #1 draft pick.

  6. vegas raider Says:

The way all of our young later-round draftees (and even undrafted with Bryant) guys are playing, and handling the media and being positive hard-workers, I’m thinking we should go the way with Seymour and just trade all of our first-round picks for proven veterans.

Hell, we are just going to draft colossal failures in the first round anyways, maybe we can do it again this year.

I like Bryant alot though. Harvard kid.

  7. vegas raider Says:

The great thing about Murphy is his will to win, you can tell he truly loves football. Scored the tying TD yesterday, and no outward celebration, he was just releaved his team was no longer losing and wanted to celebrate with his teammates.

Remember JLH’s dumb azz, doing back-flips and crap. Now look at him.

  9. 16yearsold16yearfan Says:

im not saying we shouldnt extend seymour but it wont be the end of the world if we dont because the younger players can step up and take his spot but if we dont get a long term contract with him we should franchise him for one year and after that we’ll have shaunessy ellis jay rich and scott too

I still have not heard a satisfactory answer to how a team’s 1st pick overall who shows up TO CAMP unable to read a defense, slothful, lazy, skips meetings, can’t digest the playbook and is allowed to start coming out said camp. Allowed to start the 1st 8 games.

Its all good that Gradkowski is starting…problem is…all these wins are no better than exhibition.

The Owner and Coach threw away the season….and for what? I don’t care where a player is drafted…there are certain things you don’t do.

    We need a new Owner

I would go ahead and cut Russell right now to send a message to the rest the other lazy players that some things just won’t be accepted.

    Cut him tonight!

I can’t believe that kid would be so arrogant and lazy as to skip meetings. So incompetent that he doesn’t even understand the basics of the offense after a full offseason.

I hate that the Raiders have never only had 3 yrs of decent to good QB play in the last 25 years.

We still have a chance to win more games than we did last year. That was the goal going into the year. No sane person was talking playoffs, unless it was the chance to go 8-8 and win the division maybe.

I didn’t think we’d go to the playoffs either.

My point is that at what point does Al Davis start running this team like a real team.

No more season killing decisions. This year its the Russell debacle….last year it was the Kiffin drama….year before that was the whole last second hire of a head coach….

For once, I want a full seasom without this B.S.

The first meeting the kid skipped should have been the last as the declared starter.

Murphy saying he didn’t know the building was open on Tuesday.

That stuff p&sses me off because it means the team isn’t even bothering to prepare for the season.

Then they sell us on a late season glimpse….and the bitter cycle starts anew.

    Its called bullsh&t…

What Russell did was insubordination. Missing practices, skipping meetings AND showing up overweight. What the hell kind of contract did they write up. I would have certain performance or behavior clauses or something….

Anyway, if Russell played poorly but was doing all the right things…I would simply look at the benching etc…as a step to give him a chance to watch.

But this kid acted so unprofessionlly that I am personally offended.

I dont’ think he deserves the opportunity. In a day and age where other QBs are busting their azz…Russell couldn’t be bothered to show up to meetings.

The criticism I hear on radio, from Cable, ESPN etc….is he just doesn’t have a handle on the bare basics of the position. That’s unacceptable. Especially with a full offseason and a coaching focus on the basics.

I really believe he should be cut.

The Seymour pick was necessary going into the season given the deplorable play of the D-Line at stopping the run.

The 1st round pick likely would be wasted as 16 said.

Davis’ track record at the top of the draft would most likely never equal what Seymour will give us this year.

At least Seymour was able to impart some knowledge and serve as an example.

They can always franchise..especially with the added money that will be freed up with Kelly/Warren

Exactly, only Murphy. It was a good sign, but he never followed up on it. He than went to camp and blew off the last day of OTA’s.

I hope I’m wrong, but 504 was the first to respond yesterday and I’m going to mail him my Jamarcus jersey. I can’t stand him, and refuse to wear it.

  44. aig Says:

    SnB,

it comes with the territory of being a Raider fan bro. I wished that Chubalot would put in the preparation to realize his potential. hopefully he pulls a Vince Young and do the right thing. Peter King reported that V Young was being mentored by Koby Bryant last year and it calmed him down a lot.

  45. aig Says:

    Raider O,

Asking King Davis to bench both JR and DHB is a tall order for Cable. I think Cable bargained for a JR benching and promised to throw the ball more to DHB. If I have to pick the two, I will bench JR. We did win with James Jett on scholarship so having a liability at WR is not as bad as QB.

  46. priesttj Says:

SnB, that is the single dumbest comment you’ve made. Cut Russell are you crazy? at 23-4 years old? that’s why they call us fans(fanatics) we say and do some very stupid things. You’d still have to pay him the rest of 30 mill for nthing and he is still very young at the toughest psition to play in sports. This kid could turn out ot be a star in this league wether naysayers believe it or not. There isn’t anyone in here capable of assesing that situation with any degree of professionalism. I would’vesaid the same thing about Huff until this year. And a lot of people did say it.

You guy’s have a lot to learn about young developing players most QB’s don’t get it until their 4-5 year starting. Look at Vince Young tonight he looks like a completely different player because he was allowed to sit and watch. Russell can be viewed in the same fashion. What if Tenn. had given up n VY they would look like complete idiots and deservedly so.

Russell’s entire career is ahead of him wether some of you braindead fans understand that or not I gaurantee this coaching staff understands it. You never throw away great young talent until you exhaust all avenues as the 49ers are doing.

While it’s obvious that Russell needed to sit to say something that freakin dumb is just beyond me. And I think you know better.

    Should the Bears dump Cutler?

How ’bout Panthers dumping Delhomme, why not just cut him?

Young players develope individually differently you don’t pay that kind of money and willy nilly flush it down the toilet. Russell has tremendous talent give him a chance to realize it. Same with DHB and DMC. Two years from now you’ll be signing their praise’s.

Ypou people are freakin’ crazy. Don’t you know the coaches watch that film yesterday and they see that Grads made mistakes but they wont say it. You’ll see Russell again befre the season is over. Read Cable’s above comments.

The looney bin is alive and well.

As for his contract. That’s a sunk cost. You pay him whether he plays or not. No point in paying him to lose.

I am fully aware of what it takes to develop a qB. All those other names you mentioned were not accused of skipping meetings, showing up late and overweight. That’s unacceptable in Pop Warner and it sure as HELL is unacceptable in the NFL.

Now they are saying we were stupid to draft him or Oakland’s environment ruined him.

He is absolutely horrible. He is throwing behind recievers and missing wide open RBs. AD no longer can judge talent. He needs to get good people and delegate. He thinks he can still compete at the same level with guys watching tape 5-10-15 hours a day and really breaking things down. Bottom line is he can’t. Kiffin apparently did not like the pick and neighter did Tim Brown. In retrospect they were right. Bottom line Oakland should do a Minnesota and just skip picks until they get till around number 20. They have a terrible record when they pick in the upper first round.

  67. priesttj Says:

Grads is nothing more than a journeyman QB, and it’;l shw itself soon enough and the coaches know it. He really struggled early in that game, his best plays were the last drive……….period.

Grads works is butt and I commend him for it. But he threw some scary passes and is still young and learning. He has a long way to go.

All Russell has to do is apply himself and he’ll take the job back in his sleep. Grads is average at best…………period

  68. SnB offense defense specialteams Says:

    Priesttj,

I think it was a neat thing to get that kid some tickets to the game.

    I’ll forgive your “looney-bin” comment….LOL

BTW, looney is a QB coming to camp overweight and skipping meetings….that’s looney.

If the Raiders had discipline…perhaps a slap on the wrist or even a demotion in camp could have straightened things out. But no, we enable this poor behavior.

Like JHill says…how in the world can Louis Murphy not know the building was open on Tuesdays>

    Priest,

First, I do want JR to succeed because I dont want to see we wasted a pick on him.

Here’s an observation for you. Other than the fact that he can throw a mile with his arm, he is NOT ACCURATE. Usually the big arm guys lack the intelligence to be a complete package. I have yet to see Russell be known or shown me that he is accurate on a consistent basis. Jeff George was a head case but he got a big arm and was accurate. other than throwing the ball for 75 yards i have yet to see JR be known for anythign else. Huge concern for me.

  72. Mistabrown Says:

Priest is in here dumbing up the blog and you suckers take his bait every dam time..

  73. SnB offense defense specialteams Says:

    Priesttj,

All I ask is the team compete and put in the effort. But to hear about not putting work in, overweight and skipping meetings…I have a problem with that.

If Russell was benched but doing all the right things..then I would agree with your position..

But as a former athlete…I find the idea of not bothering to attend meetings and keep your body in shape is a sign of disrespect to your teammates.

At $30M dollars…why isn’t he ready to roll on the preparation and commitment side.

  74. priesttj Says:

SnB, your smarter than that man, you’re letting ONE win get you drunk with visions of granduer. Sober up this is the NFL. Talent always wins out. Russell has shown that he can win in this league regardless to what the naysayers say. He has shown that. Yes he has struggled no question but if they pput the right talent around him and he grows up the Raiders will have one of most dominant QB’s in the league.

And they know it. Trust me.

  75. VanHeathen Says:

Priest, you act like this kid can just ‘flip a switch’ and turn it on.
So some extra hours a the facility are gonna change him overnight? “in his sleep”?
No, a dedication to nutrition, training his mind and getting in and staying in playing shape year round would be a start.
But i guess he could do all that “in his sleep”…I always like reading your posts, but i don’t see it happening so easy.

  76. aig Says:

    At this moment Priestj,

I am in heaven if God would guarantee me that the RAiders will have an avg QB on our team for the remainder of the season. I’ll even give up sex for the rest of the season for avg QB play. It sucks the last 8 weeks knowing that every game we go in the game with a handicap at QB.

  77. 1960AutumnWind Says:

    Priestj

“All Russell has to do is…” Sounds like a wife whose husband is beating her – excuses excuses. This guy was given the team on a silver platter and can’t make it work. He actually regressed from last year. How long do we double down and chase our loses? Until he is 25,26 or 27? I know if I was a coach I would have benched him after the 2nd or third game because his poor performance would be jeopordizing my job.

    ======================================================
I know what Gradkowski represents. He’s a gritty player but I doubt he’s any real solution. He’s a serviceable backup at best.

As for Russell, somehow he has to learn the basics of the game. Its disturbing to hear the comments about what Gradkowski does that Russell doesn’t ….basics like line checks, the amount of the playbook and others things.

At year 3, Russell needs to be better than that. Not working on the basics because he’s missing, meetings and showing up overweight.

    That’s not promising at all

  79. 1960AutumnWind Says:

Clue about what Priest I am so tired of you and others apologizing for this bust o rama. Get a replay and look at all the stupid plays JR made this year. Here is a question who played worse than JR the first half of the season this year?

  80. priesttj Says:

So were a lot of young QB’s he wasn’t ready it’s obvious, but he showed that he can win in this league. He did it!!

He has shown when he is confident he can slice defenses up. he’s done late in games with the game on the line. He’s DONE IT!! now because he strugles like all young QB’s he has no chance.

You guy’s are crazy, he just needs t put the time in to get better……..period That’s all Grads has done put the time in. I’ll take Russell against Dallas over Grads right now.

Russell in two years will leave grads in his rear view mirror on his way to the playoffs.

  81. VanHeathen Says:

If JR was actually ‘Fit’ his brain would function faster on game day, there is a direct corrolation between how hard your heart is working and the ability to make decisions, therefore, he’s limiting himself, by being out of shape, but it’s cool. He can change all this “in his sleep”…

You can’t make emotional decisions like that, lol. Bench the guy and fine him.

  96. 1960AutumnWind Says:

Mistabrown you are right. I am just ticked off about the waste of a draft pick we could of had an awesome WR or one of the best RBs that has come out in the last 5-10 years. I guess what done is done and it is time to move on.

It will be interesting to see next week how Gradkowski does on the road in Dallas. I am glad to finally see the Raiders win a game like the one with Cincinati. We don’t need a great QB to win games but if he can just play well enough to keep the defense honest against the run….

  97. Dude Says:

Do you even realize how big of a joke you are around here? How about on the radio waves? Everyone makes fun of you all the time and you dont even realize it. LOL!

  98. raiderzmaverick Says:

Man – out later round draft picks turn out MUCH BETTER than our 1st round picks almost always!!!!

Good thing we traded our 1st round pick next year….won’t waste money on a failed pick! Now if we just put DHB with LESS playing time and give the other WRs a chance (he still is dropping passes like crazy) then we’ll improve the offense even more.

  99. raidertay Says:

It would be one thing if JR was putting in the time and just not getting results. But every story I hear about him is about how much of an arrogant lazy jerk he is.

Does anyone know when would be the earliest that the Raiders could part ways wih him? Isnt 2010 the no cap year. Can we cut him them. AD is not afraid of admitting his mistake and cutting high priced players.

We need to sign Vick next year. I think he would be a perfect addition and he should be familiar with Cable’s offense.

  104. Dude Says:

Ummmm… I am gonna guess C, all of the above

  105. priesttj Says:

Jhill, I respect you, and SnB should know better than to cut a talent like this kid.

Yes, he has stcrewed up royally and been a complete knucklehead but he has more talent than Grads can dream about. And based on what Cable is saying he said he’s handling the situation as a pro. The kid is young and stupid at times. But he will learn and get better and if your the Raiders you definitely want to benefit from that.

Young people do some very stupid things as the old saying goes “youth is wasted on the young” he’ll learn and be better for it.

  106. SnB offense defense specialteams Says:

But, i think it got him an MVP trophy.

  117. Mistabrown Says:

Little Nickie Miller the DB killer.

  118. KoolKell Says:

Then Al Davis took the Kid out of a moving pocket, play-action type game run by Kiffin and dropped him into his oldies but goodies Marc Wilson/Andrew Walter version of the Vertical Passing Attack “Great Raider Traditions”.

  119. jhill Says:

    Priest,

When you talk about Russell having more talent than Russell, you’re really just saying that he has a better arm. I don’t think anyone is disputing that. Russell can certainly make some throws that Gradkowski can’t.

But I think it’s also fair to say that Gradkowski can make some throws that Russell can’t.

I don’t get caught up in all the hoop-la. I don’t really care how he talks, what he wears, or how much he weighs. He just needs to stop bouncing the ball around, and MOST importantly, get his footwork straight. Dude could be 400lbs for all I care. But if he had his footwork were better, he’d be a bit more accurate.

I understand that the things that are wrong with this kid can easily be fixed. But you can only lead a horse to water, ya know?

  122. 1960AutumnWind Says:

You can put JR with Moss and TO and the guy from Carolina in the slot and he still would have low numbers because you have to throw it to where they are with proper timing. I mean he has trouble hitting Bush or DMac in stride how is he supposed to hit a WR in stride. About all he does well is throw darts at his TE because he does have incredible arm strength but that is only one dimension of what you have to do to be a legit NFL QB.

  123. aig Says:

  132. priesttj Says:

Jhill, agreed no problem there. And I’m not just talking arm I’m talking upside. Grads is easily shead of Russell in terms of mechanics , no question and capacity to read defenses and check in and out of plays. He’s got him dead to rights.

But he gt that from the QB coach we have right now, this is what I’m talking about for less knowledgable. Russell gives you much more to work with interms of skillset. he can learn all the things Grads has. Grads has better touch on dinks and dunks and movement skills. Right now his accuracy is better due to confidence in what he sees. And confidence in his surroundings. But that is a TON when leading a team.

So if I can correct myself. Grads is in fact the better QB right NOW!! but what you don’t understand is that Russell’s career hasn’t even gotten started yet.

  133. Crimedog Says:

Seriously, he wears those pads that cut off above his shoulder and his arms and shoulders look massive. This kid seriously wants to get better and be a player in this league, unlike JaWalrus. He still makes occasional mistakes but he appears light years ahead of where he was last year.

  134. Terrapin Says:

Just started watching VY play …man, he is playing much different than before …I still think they’ve got him running too much ..baby steps I guess.

But the fundamental difference I see is he’s more poised and he’s softened his throw. Much more touch than before although he can still throw it when need be.

Maybe Russell can take some lesson on VYs change in his throw.

  135. 1960AutumnWind Says:

    Jhill

I know I know I went a little far on that one. Its just the Jamarcus worship is driving me crazy.

CD – Henderson is doing well. If Grads can get the Def to not load the box it would be nice to see the running game to come on.

  136. jhill Says:

    Aig,

I’m not buying it. Add 3 pro bowl WRs to this offense and all 3 of our QB would be much better. Do you see some of the catches those guys make?

I’d love to be proved wrong. Go ahead AL! Make the move to bring 3 pro bowlers. I’ll settle for 85 in the slot, Boldin on 1 side, and we can even keep Chaz and Murphy.

I’d really like to see that!

  137. VanHeathen Says:

Priest, how long is JR gonna wait to ‘get started’. the clock has been ticking, and it seems like he’s a slacker w/ a taste for the nightlife, and we know what that did to D-Russ and Marinovich…

  138. aig Says:

    Jhill,

I agree with you. Chaz bailed out Grad on that big thrwo behind Chaz running fullspeed yesterday. Nobody else on our team can do that. That’s why i said his numbers would go up. But Russell’s lack of field knowledge would still limit him. When he only uses half of the field then the team is playing with a handicap. I mean Russel can’t even audible. We know you have to be able to audible. Gannon pointed out that when JR audible it means it is a running play because JR is only bluffing.

  139. priesttj Says:

Last year at the end of the year Russell had competent help arund him this year he had Garbage……..period even Fargas was out and so was DMC. Our best WR’s were out. We had two babies lining up stumbling all over the field.

Grads is benefitting from all of what Russell didn’t have. Give Russell tw weeks with JLH, Chaz and Murphy and the two TE’s with DMC and Fargas all healthy and we’ll see what kind of QB he really is.

  140. priesttj Says:

Not to mention the biggest problem the Oline sucked.

  141. jhill Says:

So if I can correct myself. Grads is in fact the better QB right NOW!! but what you don’t understand is that Russell’s career hasn’t even gotten started yet.

    ——————————————————

I understand what you are saying, man. But the thing is Russell’s career is only going to go as far as he takes it. It’s a simple as him becoming a gym rat. Really, it’s that simple. I’ve seen PLENTY of guys with “talent”, but it just wasn’t that important to them. I actually think it is important to him. I think he likes his wealth and the perks that come along with it, so he’ll get it. He may have already gotten it for all I know.

  142. aig Says:

I agree with you. Chaz bailed out Grad on that big thrwo behind Chaz running fullspeed yesterday. Nobody else on our team can do that.
    ——————————————————-

Chaz bailed out Russell plenty of times of those same throws. Russell didn’t have to be perfect with Chaz and Miller in the lineup. That’s why for the life of me I just can’t understand the decision to go with DHB and Murphy. Russell looked better with Lelie and Curry last year, right or wrong?

Russell can read the field, he just refuses to look to the side that DHB is on because he doesn’t trust him. He trusts his arm more than his team mate, and he thinks he can just get it to Miller and the RBs. He’s not doing a good job of just “playing QB”.

  144. priesttj Says:

Aig, you are a liar if yu say he can’t audible Russell was checking plays as of last year. See that’s what I mean when I say these guy’s do nothing but lie on this kid or they are too ignorant to see when he’s audibling.

And that ny friends is MY biggest aregument about the criticisms of Russell is that the majority of them are inaccurate. Just as this one is.

No coach in his right mind would play a QB that cannot audible. But most in here are too ignorant to know that.

  145. 1960AutumnWind Says:

I guess I was watching different QB but I thought I saw a QB that looked like JR overthow and under throw RBs on checkdowns and on a Monday night FB game hear a commentator observe what I was also seeing that they were only giving JR half the field at a time. I was wondering which part of that had to do without having the awesome tools such as JLH like he had last year?

  146. jhill Says:

    Crime,

You know Henderson wants to be out ther. Remember him showing up a day or two early to the hotel for camp?

I hated Gannon, but I have to admit that I hate losing more than I hate the dink and dunk.

  149. aig Says:

    Priest,

It was obvious. Gannon pointed it out and sure enough a running play happened right after. We can pick on Gannon for all we want but the guy knows what he is talkign about. He studied Russell all season and says whenever Russell audibles …JR is just trying to bluff the D. And that The D knows full well it is a running play because Russell doesnt audible. Since those comments fromt he Denver Game, i have to agree. I know you love JR and defend to death but we can surely agree that JR has not put in the dedication for his craft. JR doesnt know the playbook the way he is supposed to. That is why they limit the playbook on him and Steve Young pointed out that they keep things fairly simple for JR. bill parcells did the same thing with his black QB with the Cowgirls once as well.

  150. 1960AutumnWind Says:

How about him… He gives us the best chance to win. Hopefully they can build on last weeks game and add some more into the offense. I would love to see a play action burn with Dallas cheating 8-9 in the box giving the passing game no respect.

  151. kidseven Says:

Did anyone else notice on that TD to Murphy he’s actually running backward just before he catches it? Weird route at best. Was Gradkowski just being creative or was that play actually drawn up? I’d originally thought it was a deep out thrown before the break, but the highlights show something much more random.

  152. priesttj Says:

Aig, you’re a fool if you think he can’t audible n QB starts without that being part of his arsenal. It would be stupid of a coach that STARTS a QB who cannpt when he has QB’s on the bench that can.

If you believe that then you just don’t know football. And I don’t give a damn what Gannon said it tok him 8 years to become a starter. Probably because he couldn’t audible.

    —————————————————–

Murphy did a great job of adjusting to the ball. The kid is getting better. They mentioned that he took Russell benching personally and has been catching an additional 200 balls a day. That kid is going to be just fine.

  157. Trolls 35 Raiders 0 Says:

That’s weird  I  always thought that bhp  and aig  were kissing cousins :D After all they both wipe the old geezers  arse with their tongues :o

  158. priesttj Says:

He should take it personally Jhill he was part of the problem. DHB should give him a game check. 8 passes thrown his way and 1 catch……crazy!

  159. jhill Says:

    Priest,

What you saw Sunday was Grads following orders and throwing the ball to DHB. He was targeted 8 times and only caught 1 pass. It doesn’t really matter what QB you have out there. Those types of numbers are going to make your QB look unimpressive.

The good thing about Sunday was Cable not trying to feature DHB on the game winning drive like he did last week. Could you imagine that 4th down pass to Chaz being to DHB? Or that TD pass?

  160. priesttj Says:

Jhill, and that gawd for that, Cable is personally resposible for the KC loss throwing to that baby. When Chaz was available. Anybody would’ve been better!!

  161. jhill Says:

You know the sad thing about the DHB thing is that Cable was really trying to sit here and tell us that the WRs were open.

I think I saw DHB open ONE time yesterday. He NEVER had seperation from his man, and Grads was in jeopardy of being picked every time he threw his way.

    I just don’t get it!

  162. priesttj Says:

    ” thank gawd for that”

  163. jhill Says:

DHB should be alternating with Murphy in the slot. Get that kid a matchup that he can have a good chance of winning. In the slot, he could go against a LB, S, or nickle corner. Let him run a few 5 yd slants, or 10 yd curls.

  164. 1960AutumnWind Says:

    Priest

No we have to give Grad 8 games before we can know. (That is a joke) I do not think anyone has any illusions that Grad is the 2nd comming of Kurt Warner but I am not sure I can take anymore of JR losing games. Learning the offense is what the preseason is for. JR should have been better than he was.

  165. jhill Says:

    LOL …

Try an dumb it down for DHB and do the equivalent of handing him the ball. Reverse, screens, 5 yd slants, and quick curls.

    Baby steps!

  166. priesttj Says:

Jhill, NOW you finally understand why I am so vehement in my support of Russell. The way Murphy was playing and DHB and we are blasting Russell. Cable tells a lot of lies to justify some crazy stuff. Like the 4 drops for each QB thing, flat out lie.

For reasons I’m not sure of Russell was scapegoated for this mess when it was a coaches decision to play these babies. Cable is a flat out liar.

  167. priesttj Says:

Auttumnwind, you just don’t get it. Sorry. Grads is OK I have no problem with him. I also think Russell NEEDED this breather it will serve him well. But he didn’t loook bad by himself he had a TON of help.

  168. Terrapin Says:

Playing Grads …you’re winning the war but losing the battle ..simple as that.

If for 1 minute you think Grads is better than Russell you must check your IQ. Maybe a better grasp of the game from his experience but talent? Not even in the same ball park.

  169. jhill Says:

    Priest,

I got that from the start. Russell allowed himself to be scapegoated, IMO. There is NO excuse for the QB to give off the perception that he doesn’t care. Whether it is true or not, the old saying about perception being reality is in play. Russell would be adored by fans if he was at least the hardest working guy in the building. And if he was the hardest working guy in the building, he wouldn’t be having half the issues he’s having. Like you said, the kid has been acting really immature, and we just can’t have that.

  170. Terrapin Says:

oh wrong way….winning the battle but losing the war ..damn …its getting late ..my IQ is dropping down to ya’ll mo-fos

  171. kidseven Says:

Man, there are lot of conspiracy theories in here. I think it’s something about Al Davis that breeds them.

In the last few days I’ve read that Jamarcus was benched because he’s black, because Hackett is out to get him, and because the coaches purposely call crap plays for him.

I’ve read that Grads is following orders to throw to DHB, and that Cable benched Russell so he could alternately scapegoat him, and as someone else suggested, bring him back in and take credit for his improved performance.

I prefer Occam’s Razor–the simplest answer is usually the best one. I think the players and coaches are doing everything they can to win. If something works they’ll probably stick with it (accept for running Bush more than 5 times a game–apparently that’s too much to ask. Maybe Bush was too close to Randy Hanson…ooh…spooky)

  172. jhill Says:

    Terrapin,

The job is there for Russell to take it. It’s simply on him to take it back. Just like Cable says up top. Russell just needs to show some consistency. Not 1 day here or a series or 2 there. He needs to be consistent is everything he does as the QB of the Raiders. And that most certainly includes 6am-6pm Monday thru Sunday!

  173. jhill Says:

    LOL …

Ok Seven, you really think there is a simple answer? You already contradicted the answer even you came up with. There is NO reason why Bush should have ended up with only 14 carries last week, and only 4 this week.

    WTF is going on?

Can ANYONE tell me what Cable’s game plan is?

  174. aig Says:

    Priest,

Bro, sometimes you’re too much. Not sure wth you’re trying to say but my point is JR can’t audible right now. Not last year not college but right very fcking now. Gannon pointed that out and he was backed up by the very next play that transpired on the screen. Steve Young mentioned that on the first game that JR is only looking on one side of the field. Cable even acknwledged that JR was supposed to audible on that first 4 vert play against the Jets. First play of the game for the O and JR was already lost in la la land. Dude, i know you love JR but stop being so fckign blind. I hope he becomes VY but right now he is a liability.

  175. aig Says:

    Kidseven,

That play to Murphy they practiced alot last week. Murphy said so. He was supposed to cut the route short to a Dig if it was a cover 2 or take it to the seam if cover 1. It was cover 1, he took it to the seam and the throw is supposed to be a backshoulder throw. They practiced it and it was delivered. TD!

  176. Terrapin Says:

Watching VYs game change gives you hope for Russell. Actually, I’m confident Russell can be much better than Young – a lot better probably. He just needs to apply himself just as much if not more. Thats all it takes for him.

Dude is arguably one of the most “gifted” QBs in the league. He just needs to apply those talents through hard work and being consistent.

  177. kidseven Says:

    Jhill,

I know, I know. Some of things do seem inexplicable, but I still say it has more to do with bad gameplanning or other mundane reasons–not a grand conspiracy. Cable seems to be determined to get the passing game going and it’s probably cost us some games. But then who would have thought Russell would struggle so mightily.

  178. kidseven Says:

aig Says: That play to Murphy they practiced alot last week.

That’s really good to hear. That’s the kind of stuff that makes all the difference.

  179. NorthernD Says:

As much as everyone would like to see DHB have a seat on the bench, I just don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon. And the reason for it, the ghoul upstairs.
Davis knows the players he’s taken in the first round have been lousy, but he’s a stubborn old man. He knows it’s making him look bad.
You can’t hide Russell and his awful play, so he had to sit. Hopefully, he can turn it around, but who knows?
DHB has also been awful, but you can get away with it by not throwing to him. You can talk him up by saying he’s ” a good blocker” and ” he’s turning the corner.” But if he’s on the field, then he’s not another first round bust. Or that’s what the organization will tell the fans.
I’m sure Al sees DHB as the next Art powell, Warren Wells, James Lofton or Cliff Branch. Right now, he’s just a track guy who can’t catch.

  180. Terrapin Says:

Cable’s running too many backs ..simple as that. Stick with 2. Let them get in some kind of rhythm. Bush started and still couldn’t get any carries.

Make up your mind Cable. You may think this thing is working great but reality is a btch. It is not and this running game could be a TON more dominant.

Just poor utilization of the talent. He must have ran that full back rollout like 5 times Sunday. Since when did Lawton become this must throw to player? I’m just satisfied the guy didn’t drop the balls like he’s being doing all damn season. Given that history, for Cable to run that play to him so many times is damn near crazy.

Davis likes McFadden and his speed. Plus he’s a first rounder so he has to get touches.

what we learned this weekend is that the whole team is not seriously flawed…just too many rookies at too many important positions.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t consider Jamarcus a “rookie”, he was picked too high and paid too much to have 3 years to be still a rookie and playing like one. He needs to man-up and make serious steps to be better than your average guy. That’s part of the perq’s of being the QB or the man.

You can’t suck while your sucking up the perq’s or else the whole system breaks down.

Whatever it was, it is what is now…he’s benched, he has been shown up by a 3rd stringer on a team without depth at QB and he has to deal with that. Will he or won’t he….that’s his challenge now. Personally, I wouldn’t bet on him.

C,mon priest. Russell got 1 TD in that Philly game on 85 yard catch and run by Zach Miller in the FIRST quarter. 9 times out of 10 that pass play never gets close to a TD.

Russell didn’t make good consistent drives for TDs in that game.

I know Russell got the win that day, but don’t compare that game with what happened with Gradkowski yeasterday.

Russell completed 17 of 28 passes for 224 yards, with two interceptions and the touchdown to Miller. Without that one play Russell is 16 of 27 for 138 yards and 2 picks.

Al Davis is the DEFINITON of CLASS.

He is a hall of famer for a reason. He is the sole person responsible for joining the AFL and NFL and creating what we now know as the Super Bowl.

He continues to rule his domain as he sees fit.

When Jamarcus is enshrined in Canton, it will be Mr. Davis who will give his introduction speech.

You cannot judge a QB on whether he can read defenses or look-off receivers, the true litmus test is LEADERSHIP! Jamarcus has worked his butt off to be the leader of this scrappy group of Raiders, and one day it will be clearly evident. It is obvious all this talk of Jamarcus being lazy etc. is a conspiracy amongst some of the players. Mr. Davis will seek out and destroy those that caused this dissension, and they will pay dearly.

If you only knew what was going on in Mr. Davis’s head you would be standing and applauding the “Master”.

Get out to the games and BOO what is wrong…CHEER for what is good…and POUND the crap out of any 49er fan or MR (redundant) who is dumb enough to show up!

GO RAIDERS….KICK DALLASS…or at least look good if you lose and make them sorry.

I personally think Cable benched him when he did because he really needed to win that game against KC, it was a win-able (sp?) game and his future career was riding very heavily on that.

He doesn’t feel Jamarcus gives him the best chance to win, and neither do a lot of the players on this team.

Don’t know how many ways I can (or they can) tell you that, but it’s out there for everybody to see.

Jamarcus is not 100% percent committed to doing everything it takes for the Raiders to win football games.

  223. Random Drug Tester Says:

Gradkowski is not the MAN, he has a decent track-record and is a very successful athlete in his own right.

But Jamarcus has the benefit of a lot of the raw tools it takes to be very special. He has the potential to take us a lot farther than 95% of any QB that comes along.

But it means diddlely if he doesn’t change his approach to the game, if he even has an interest to do so.

He has shown nothing to indicate that he can or will do so.

I personally think that’s a GOOD THING. We normally draft descent in the later rounds and I think we have quite a few picks this year in those areas.

    ^^^^^^^
    They traded away the 2011 1st round pick…..NOT the 2010 1st round pick…

The Raiders will have a top 5 pick next year most likely and will probably use it on USAIN BOLT!

  225. 16yearsold16yearfan Says:

rdt i understand what you are saying but jamarcus didnt just become uncommitted if he wasnt committed for 9 weeks why wait for him to have what would have been a good game without 8 drops to bench him he should have benched him earlier when wasnt working and was playing bad

  227. Random Drug Tester Says:

Until Jamarcus changes his ways, guys like Gradkowski, Frye, or even David Carr, will out-perform him and prove themselves more valuable. Especially in a dollar and cents evaluation.

We can’t afford anymore Jamarcus Russell’s, Darren McFadden’s, Darrius Heyward-Bey’s, or Tommy Kelly’s on our team. Cap year or no cap year, we need to invest in long-term assets like O-line and D-line and add complimentary players through the draft by scouting properly or trading picks for proven value.

  228. Random Drug Tester Says:

I already answered the issue of why he got benched now…it has come down to Cable’s self-preservation. He needs to win games, experimenting or “growing with Jamarcus” is no longer viable. He has to put some wins on the board this year, and it isn’t going to happen with Jamarcus.

You watch, DHB is next…his playing time will go down, and it should.

That’s easier said than done. I suspect that the older Al gets, the more erractic the decisions he’ll make.
I think that a 60 year old Al Davis would have enough faculties to select the obvious choice of Crabtree over DHB.
Right now I think he’s desparately clinging to the idea of re-building the teams of the 60’s.
I hope at some point he relinquishes some of his duties and vision for the team to someone else. But I think he only trusts people who he doesn’t fear will take over. People like Cable, and not like Gruden.

It was pretty awesome to have that much of an impact.”

  238. The Real MaddenRaider Says:

Al Davis’s insistence on forcing Russell into a vertical offense has killed the case against Russell. If Russell was given an actual, modern day offense to work under (meaning, not a hybrid between a modern day offense and the dusty playbook Al drew up for Cotton Davidson), and still failed, then I’d be on board with all of you blaming Russell’s quarterback play for this season. Well, actually, I’d never blame anyone more than I blame Al Davis, because Al Davis is responsible for every single person employed by this football team. But I’d at least agree with all of you that Russell should be benched. But to give Russell the playbook we gave him, then sudden switch up to a conservative offense when Gradkowski’s thrown in there? Something is wrong with that picture. Russell was sabotaged. By whom, and for what? I don’t know. Was it Cable, who wants someone he feels gives him a better chance of winning as starter? Or, was it Al, who set Russell up to fail all along as revenge for the contract negotiations in ‘07, where Russell and his agent made Al look like a complete idiot (not hard to do anymore, btw)? Whatever the case, they did Russell wrong. And it’s just another chapter of the same soap opera that started when Davis refused to give Gruden a new contract. A horrible franchise, ran by a horrible owner, that deserves every bad thing it gets until that owner at least removes himself from football operations.

  239. Crow Says:

Everything that’s wrong with the organization is Al’s fault. There’s no denying that. BUT, Russell wasn’t even that good at LSU. His former teammates are on record as saying they’re not surprised by his struggles because he never put in the extra work to be a good player.

The guy’s work ethic stinks. Bottom line. He was a bust no matter where he went.

  240. The Real MaddenRaider Says:

Crow, agreed on Russell’s marginal ability, and would add to that that Davis never should have drafted him. At that time, I didn’t believe we should take Russell or Quinn. But his marginal ability is all the more reason to put him into the safest offense possible. Instead, every other play he was given had all of his receivers downfield with one check down. All Russell should have been given is a run heavy offense, with pass plays designed to control the ball. You know…like the one we won with yesterday. I agree his work ethic sucks, and that he has an attitude problem. All the more reason to go with a safe offense in the so many games we started him after we knew of all of these negatives.

  241. The Real MaddenRaider Says:

Russell was sabotaged by someone. Either Al or Cable. Take your pick. I honestly don’t know. But I know he was sabotaged.

JaMarcus Russel is dumb. He cant speak, I doubt he can read, and he has become attached to an inanimate object (the beanie). I want him to succeed because he is a first round pick, but just listen to the guy. He is a gigantic thug who cares more about his 500K earrings than being smart enough to be given more than 50% of our playbook. He can only read one side of the field, the world speculated it and Mike Brown the safety for the Chiefs confirmed it. He does not have the correct thought processes or demeanor to be an NFL quarterback, and the only way to fix those two things is to put in the time to change it and he wont. You shouldnt need a change in ownership or management to teach a man how to love the game of football. We were all tricked by that LSU team watching him throw the ball 60 yards off his back foot. But people, he was throwing jump balls to Dwayne Bowe on a team that was more athletic than any. Accept the bust, restructure his contract, and lets watch Bruce motivate this team as he should and make JaMarcus better himself

    ————————————————
Priest, the truth is that it appears that Russell isn’t the smartest fish in the pond. I have not heard him in any interviews give insightful data or anything that indicates something was thought out. I see it on the field as well that he is a bit dull, and doesn’t seem to be able to view any errors made himself. He doesn’t understand when he’s throwing under 50% and has almost no yardage and a couple turnovers why he would be taken out of the game and feels he’s doing well.
I have heard from enough interviews that he has the ‘potential’ but needs to put the work in. Every interview indicates he needs to put more work in but he doesn’t. I haven’t heard ANY of the comments that Gradowsky gets about being in there, putting in extra time, making smart decisions. And these are teamates saying these things. While noone wanted to bust his chops that were on his team they hinted towards it. And you can see their response to Bruce G. being in the difference between the two players. AND Bruce is NOT even a middle-of-the-pack QB based on his past performances. He wouldn’t be starting on any other team in the NFL right now – even Cleveland, but he is considerably better than Russell in his performance.

QB requires more intelligence, and hard work than any position. You have to be able to read the defenses, see what everybody is doing, look at the different reads within a matter of milliseconds and based on what you see deduct the best thing to do.

And, even if he were able to do that, I see WAY too many horrible throws by him. Receivers don’t help him by dropping the balls. But he throws it more times than not in a place which makes it impossible or near impossible to catch it.

  251. 4evaRaider Says:

Now this is some funny stuff on the DisChargers i love it. Cause see my UPS driver is a die hard Charger fan, i know i didnt think they existed either, but hey who knew. Well enjoy.

To date the title for the most successful sports franchise in San Diego’s long history belongs to the San Diego Sockers. This storied franchise rocked the Major Indoor Soccer League with 10 titles.

A San Diego professional sports team has never won a Super Bowl, World Series, Stanley Cup or NBA Final. The drought dates back a combined 95 years without a championship. (Chargers 45, Padres 40, Clippers 5, Rockets 4). What’s the contributing factor to this monumental achievement in futility? Not one professional sports team from the great city of San Diego has a historical winning record.

In order to find San Diego’s last morsel of championship pie one would have to travel all the way back to 1963, when the San Diego Chargers won the AFL championship. To this day the Chargers remain the only AFC west team without a Superbowl victory, meanwhile their counterparts; the Raiders, Broncos and Chiefs have racked up six titles. San Diego has however be a most gracious Superbowl host. Each time San Diego has hosted a Superbowl a division rival has played in it.

Like any great city void of a championship, one would expect there be a great curse to blame; like that of Boston and the Bambino. Well in this category San Diego once again disappoints.

As lore would have it the curse of Lance Alworth is to blame for the city’s 0 for lifetime debacle. Many of you, my self included have probably wondered, who in the hell is Lance Alworth?

Originally drafted by the Oakland Raiders and traded to the San Diego Chargers he was an all star from 1963-1969. In 1971 the Chargers traded Alworth to the Dallas Cowboys only to watch him earn a ring in Superbowl VI. Alworth was the first San Diego Charger inducted to the NFL hall of fame. Alworth chose the great Al Davis as his presenter for the ceremony.

Since the trade San Diego teams have been Championship deprived. The Chargers guilty of executing the trade are the most maligned of San Diego’s teams.

Ryan Leaf considered the biggest “bust” in pro sports history was drafted only one pick after the great Peyton Manning. Having nearly tasted Manning glory the Chargers elected to draft Eli Manning in the 2004 draft. Apparently well aware of Lance Alworth, Eli demanded a trade and refused to play for the Chargers. Eli went on to win MVP honors and a ring in Superbowl XLII for the New York Giants.

The Padres haven’t faired much better in the draft; see Matt Bush for details.

The Chargers have only had one appearance in the Superbowl but in San Diego tradition, they choked and were routed by the 49ers 49-26. Boasting a .417 playoff winning percentage it’s doubtful the Chargers will ever make it back to the big game, let alone win it.

Despite this extraordinary display of ineptitude, Charger fans seem content with their role as perennial AFC West Bridesmaid. They find some refuge in minor victories such as division titles or their current 12 game win streak over the Oakland Raiders but the elephant in the room remains an empty Superbowl trophy case.

The only way he was sabotaged was that he was never held up to the same standards that other players were held to and was given a free walk.
Same thing that DHB is being given now. But seeing how Russell was given it for 2 years now I hope they come to their senses and not let DHB stink it up as a starter as long.

I think both maybe, possibly, somehow, someway (god the chances are small) can pull together and become good. But, they have to be shown that they are accountable for their actions and only be put in if they are the best player out there just like every other position.

I think I just realized why our 1st round picks suck so bad. They’re not made to perform before being put in and are given a free pass because of their status. No other team is really doing that.

Other teams give them every opportunity to show they’re good enough but they don’t get put in and played unless they’re the best option on the team. We just put them in even if they suck so it teaches our players you don’t have to play good to remain a starter…and it teaches them they don’t need to really get better and will still get their pay check and play.

Grads is playing better, first off he doesnt have to impress if he fails then no harm done. But if he even plays a lil better skies the limit. I dont blame Jmac for the offense or the team. I do blame him for not being in shape or taking blame, but not for the teams win/loss record.

Meanwhile, a “speed” guy like Chris Johnson last night, who is smaller than McFadden, breaks tackle after tackle game in and game out. In one game Chris Johnson had 2 or 3 more impressive runs than Darren has had in his entire NFL career.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is the type of attitude that is needed in the front office. Mr. Davis and the culture he has created is not conducive for a winning football franchise…

No, I remember Gannon was playing well for the Chiefs. They kept in Elvis Gerbac for some stupid reason (kinda of like our management not playing the best player) and so they let Gannon go to Free Agency. IRVING – Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was limited in practice Monday, but he expects to be fine for Thursday’s game against Oakland at Cowboys Stadium.

Romo was kneed in the back while tackling DeAngelo Hall after a first-quarter fumble in Sunday’s 7-6 victory over Washington. After completing 15 of 27 passes for 158 yards, Romo said he received an injection for the pain.

“We’ve had better Mondays, but it’s part of playing in the National Football League,” Romo said. “It’s slowly getting better, and by game day I should be good to go. It’s going to take a lot more than this to keep me out.”

I was impressed last night by Vince Young. Took the year he was benched, worked out hard, studied the playbook and when he was called on, has seized the moment. Put a picture of him and J.R. next to each other and think what could have been.
    ——————-

bro, the key thing was that VY accepted his benching and had guys like Favre and Koby mentored him. Peter Kings wrote that Koby was in touch with VY often. The key thing for us is will JR accept this well and use his time wisely? Based on last Sunday it seems he took it well. I dont think JR is ever going to be a leader. He needs strong personalities around him on the O. It looked as though JR was more relieved to not be in that role.

“The Notre Dame quarterback was out at a South Bend, Indiana bar when, according to the Chicago Tribune, an irate fan started beef with Clausen. The man allegedly pushed Clausen’s girlfriend outside of CJ’s Pub, according to an anonymous source who spoke to the South Bend Tribune. When Clausen pushed the man back, the man punched him in the face. Clausen reportedly had a black eye, according to the Tribune’s source.

No charges were pressed, as no police reports were filed this weekend that involve Clausen.”

So Clausen’s girlfriend was pushed, and he pushed the guy that did it in defense of his girl. What a bastard! We can’t have that kind of person on our team! We like the wife-beaters, not the girlfriend defenders around these parts!

The opportunity arose and I was convinced to throw it in the fire at the tailgate before the Chiefs game.

I gained instant validation when about 15 minutes later I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Jim Plunkett. What a nice guy.

I’ll tell you this, that hat smelled soooo bad while it burned. The combination of toxic fumes and Buc hatred.

I clearly stated that, first off, there is NO GAME this Sunday, but INSTEAD told him I will be at the Englander on parrott st, in San Leandro, on Friday night.

Also asked him what color dress he would be wearing.

THEN REMINDED HIM OF EXACTLY WHERE I’LL BE, dumbass.

He then, conveniently, pretended he now couldn’t be bothered to reply, and quickly left.

Now, back to why is it you soil your pretty pink little panties at the sound of gunfire?

We hang on each word “The Master” utters, as though it is coming from a Divine source; well in fact it IS of divine origin.

Mere humans may try to comprehend “The Master” and his wisdom, but only an elite and precious few are able to. Those that do are indeed blessed with a precious gift; the gift of true understanding of “The Master” and his ways.

It may be difficult to ascertain “The Master” and His machinations of superior achievement, but we try;oh how we try, and with time the truths “The Master” reveals will be seen and finally appreciated for the eternal wisdom they are clothed with.

Do you not realize that makes you everyone’s biotch? lol…damn..are you always this slow?

You’ll look back on these days and state two things…first “Damn, I sure was a puzzy” and “They were right, I did look dumber than cotton”.

It is rather humorous, isn’t it?

    the reality?

Those like Smac? Alisgod? When you give them an exact address and time? THEY NEVER SHOW..ever.

It’s a weak bluff because they feel inadequate, and embarrassed, and hope challenging someone will mask the fact thinking on their feet was never their forte’.
And then they get the double indignity of making excuses on why they got busy/lost/confused/couldn’t be bothered.

Or..like Alisgod..he doesn’t even have the balls to ACT like he’ll show..his little BB size huevos swells at the thought someone ELSE might show, where he can get brave, vicariously, through the other posters.

    It’s called Mini-Huevos Syndrome.

So how is that any different from other people who do the exact same thing? Nice one Rachoshyt. I guess silvernMac dont have to worry about you coming after him at the Coliseum. Thanks for letting him off the hook and thanks for proving my point. Case closed.

  544. TrueRaider Says:

Only way win is if we can stop the run and force Dallas to pass, Landry the saftey from Redskins said Roy Williams is scared to run in the middle, shut down Austin and blitz Romo like we did to Palmer and McNabb, we have a chance to stop their defense.

Offensively, Henderson vs Demarcus Ware will be key match. Also Satele vs Ratliff, our OL needs to play physical run the ball control the play clock we leace BG with 3 n short which he can get it through his hands or legs. Dallas allowed over 100 yards rushing last week to Redskins without portis n Betts. Play caling will be essential but I feel we have a good chance wining especially with BG starting over Russell
