A lucky victory via a fluke fumble does not justify the soap opera that goes on here, constantly. I’m unimpressed. 6 straight seasons with 11 or more losses, and 3-7 this year? The only thing that convinces me is a blowout vs. a team like Cincy. 3 wins straight would do, too. I’m guessing we’re 4-12 by season’s end. I’m also predicting both Cable and Gradkowski are gone after this year. Unfortunately, Al won’t be.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:12 am
And I also feel sorry for the Coopers in that the last team Marquis played for was the drama circus known as the Oakland Raiders. A woman beating coach, a team that sabotages their first round black quarterback, an owner who doesn’t like smart black athletes, and that’s just the beginning of it. Because Cooper played here last, they have this default link to the team and of course they have to show up to games when invited, just out of formality. I’m certain this trip to Oakland was more work than it was pleasure for the Coopers.

Hey MR. Yea I was on atdhe today, and around the 3rd qtr, I got hit with some malware of some sort. It tried to get me to run an exe. file but i didnt. Im still running scans right now just to get it all out.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:37 am
I don’t get why the glass-half-empty fraction here tries to constantly remind the glass-half-full fraction that the glass is half empty…
We won. Period. Cinci had a chance as well but they didn’t take it.
The win was admittedly somewhat lucky. But we put in enough effort and stayed in the game long enough that the one or two lucky breaks at the end could still make a difference. It was a combination of Cinci giving one away and us being smart enough to not kill ourselves until then. In between we actively, consciously made a couple of really good plays on D, ST and O.
Now let’s see if they can carry some of the good things into Dallas. But Dallas will be very, very motivated to beat us in their new stadium. OTOH the Raiders are good at surprises, bad (KC loss) and good (Philly win, Cinci win)…. we’ll see…
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:42 am
re virus from atdhe:
I have Kaspersky Internet Security, and at one point it too alerted of some malware and denied it’s installation/running. So not a biggie, just showing that not to have an AV software running at all times is like internet suicide…
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:51 am
Abused by Al, I love how you insist the glass is even half full… I see about a drop of orange juice in the glass, and today’s game was it. Call it 1/8 full all you will.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:59 am
Kaspersky? Havent heard of that one. Im running Panda and Webroot.
November 23rd, 2009 at 2:04 am
The old Raiders won some lucky ones too. The HOLY ROLLER and countless others where Stabler and other guys came through with some wacky stuff.
Good win.
Too bad that all this QB controversy has shrouded the good play of some of our young guys.
Richardson played well yesterday. Shaunessy is making a move to become a guy we can use in the future, Branch is showing to be a BIG TIME pick, Huff has improved, Henderson is a very solid T, Chaz will get healthy and be a good no. 1 WR.
We actually have some guys who can play and we still have some holes to fill.
1. We have to get our WR’s in with the program.
2. We need to get JaMarcus on track.
This win by Grad should show JaMarcus that he can do the same if he puts in a bit more work and gets serious.
Just think if JaMarcus got his head together, he would be amazing.
November 23rd, 2009 at 2:06 am
JaMarcus is NOT done yet. He’s got time to make it work.
If a non-talented little dude can win with hard work and “punctuality” then JaMarcus should be able to figure out the key areas he needs to improve on.

There is no connection between the current Raiders and the “old Raiders”, Copenhagan. It went to Green Bay in the ’90s. Today’s lucky bounce has absolutely no relationship, either real or supernatural, with plays such as the holy roller.
November 23rd, 2009 at 3:21 am
Not to mention, the rules of the game have changed, since then
November 23rd, 2009 at 3:45 am
Real RM, I just disagree with you. But that’s OK.
We all know that Raiders have a long way to go towards respectability. But you have to start somewhere. Maybe that game was a start, maybe it was not and all is lost again in Dallas. I’m not saying they will win, that would be an outrageous statement. But if they can again avoid penalties and turnovers, play good defence and sustain some drives… We’ll find out very soon.
If we can move from consistently bad as we are/were to consistently mediocre, it’s not very exciting, but it is progress. 6-10 at the end of the season with a little bit of an uptrend on offense (DHB catching a few balls, among other things) and I say we were not total suckers in 2009. Hopefully we found out which players to retain and which to send packing.
Then comes a new season and we’ll see how this goes. I hope the organisation will change, with Al ceding (sp?) some control but I’m not betting on it.

Good Morning NATION!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:12 am
People scream for years that we cant win because of Big Al…Cable…Jmac…WR’s…O-line…D-line…and millions of other reasons. If we woulda fumbled the ball at the end and lost these same idiots would be screaming typical Raiders. But sense we put together a game plan that would work…quick-pitches and short passes 2 Dmac (like I suggested)and did enough to capitalize at the end and win they call it a non deserved win. What a bunch of ignorant monkey haterzzz they are.Go to your 49ers web site because thats where you belong.Azzholes.I am happy for the win we EARNED and take it as a step in the right direction….Oh and 1 more thing
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:20 am
Mornin’ 4evaRaider,
I’m going to post something I’m sure you all ready know but here’s the proof:
The Real MaddenRaider Says:
blitzing and luck. that’s all that happened today. neither will happen next week.
Cincy choked this one, gave it to us.
luck is luck.
A good team beat themselves. That’s all that happened today. That’s how it will be written, as well it should be.
The Raiders do NOT have a team, no matter who starts at QB, gradkowski or Russell.
—————
During the game for 3.5 hrs MR wailed against Grad for NOT being JaMarcus as if he’s was JR’s greatest fan. The last 3 years he’s been wailing against JR.
Does this sound like a Raider fan to you guys? He’s just another internet troll with nothing new to say. Why can’t we get this troll banned like NarcoBob?
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:20 am
I will say this after our EARNED VICTORY…
Kirk Morrisson has 2 go.Maybe he can play SAM but no-way is he a MLB.Thats our weakest spot, imo
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:23 am
Morning TW!!!
Yep I dont even utter its name…a true hater in every semse of the word
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:25 am
Yep A WELL EARNED VICTORY against Cincy’s 1st string and you could see they threw everything they had at Grads but the O-line really played well in pass-protection
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:26 am
Morning coffee always taste better after A WELL EARNED VICTORY!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:26 am
It was funny to see the time spent ragging on the Raiders during the game & then dissappear when it was over.
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:28 am
I didn’t get to see most of the game but as soon as the Denver game was over (I won $40 on them) It picked up with the replay of the KO fumble. I was exstatic!
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:30 am
This week I have to cover for an employee who has this week off, meaning I start work at 4am! On my computer was a note that said: Brocos Rule!!! Raiders play w/daolls!!! Obviously put on before the games, hahaha.
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:32 am
You’re right 4eva, no sacks, I wonder how MR can spin thta one. Looks like the O line played harder for Grad or he just gets rid of the ball quicker.
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:34 am
4 Grads 1 st game at the helm he didnt get sacked and played smart.I think Grads and Dmac will take this team 2 the next level. As soon as our WR made a catch and our RB’s caught the ball it opened the running lanes almost instantly. We had long ball control drives and when the drive stalled Lechler would pin Cincy deep. Our defense was WELL RESTED in the 4th qt,and that REALLY SHOWED.Yep Grads and his ball-control mistake style is just what we need.Dmac is gonna flourish now,imo
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:37 am
A little of both,imo TW.
You should get a little stuffed blue or orange pony and rip its head off and put it on his computer!!!Kinda like the Godfather lol
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:44 am
Bush fumbled also but the DEFENSE HELD.Cincy fumbled and we scored…thats the mark of a good team…taking advantage of the other teams mistakes
YEP ALL IN ALL A VERY WELL DESERVED VICTORY IN ALL NATION MEMBER EYES!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:49 am
I grew up in Texas as a Raider fan & am looking forward to Thanksgiving game. My dreams of a Oakland/Dallas Superbowl were dashed by the Donkeys when Rob Lytle’s fumble was ignored by the refs robbing me of the best Superbowl ever. That’s when I first started hating the Broncos. Now I just make money off their fans!
November 23rd, 2009 at 5:14 am
I would enjoy making money off them 2!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 5:45 am
If I could have any team facing the Raiders in the S/B it would be the Bears…All my uncles are Bears fans and I would like nothing more than to have the Raidersw stomp the Bears in the S/B
November 23rd, 2009 at 5:52 am
Good Morning Nation!!!
This is what I saw yesterday…
Yes, Palmer and Ocho were kinda having their way in the beginning. A little adjustment held up a lot as we were only down by a TD at half time. Now this is what kills me…HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS…??? Could it be? As Carlson Palmer really could not do much in the 3rd, let alone the 4th! Gradkowski made throws that Russell never could have done in the past 3 years…haha! He has 2 TDs in one game while Russell has 2 all year?
Anyways…good win and you should have heard how loud that half empty stadium got during the last 30 secs after we recovered the fumble and kicked the FG!!! BTW: Didn’t Aso get his first pick in years at the end? Couldn’t tell who it was that picked it off!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:05 am
Yep half=time adjustments really helped.Much credit 2 the defense…Morrisson is not a MLB as many have said.He always bites on the fake and doesnt make a play anyway, imo.Morrisson is our weak-spot,imo
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:09 am
Yup…he should be our SAM!
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:16 am
All day the announcers were saying Grads throws a “catchable” ball.Over and over and its true he does.Man I just think Dmac is gonna thrive with Grads as QB.I mean Fargas even ran the ole 29 quick-pitch Man I JUST LOVE THAT PLAY!!!.This is about the most fun Sunday I,we had in a long time, imo
JUST PLAIN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:19 am
A WELL EARNED VICTORY IF THERE EVER WAS ONE!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:25 am
Happy Monday today.
Anyone knows if Seymour injury is significant?
Still, Richardson and Bryant did a solid job playing in for Seymour
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:27 am
Yes it was!!! That last TD with Murphy as he fought to get to the goal line…that is what we need! So much for that falling down on the one yard line…LOL
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:29 am
We can beat Dallas, they are not that good this season.
They had a lot of trouble yestarday against Redskins, and the Skins are 3-7 like we are. Dallas won only by 1, 7-6.
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:29 am
Richardson played lights out!!!
There was a play in the 2nd qt.where the Cincy RB ran off RE and was gonna get about 30yards but Richardson galloped down the field and stop him 4 about an 11 yard pick up!!!That play summed up the BIG DEFSNSE yesterday, imo
take daughter 2 work BBL NATION!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:29 am
Despite win, Cowboys have issues
The Cowboys’ late touchdown to get the win doesn’t mask their recent offensive futility. The unit was out of sync and the much-maligned receiving corps was held in check for much of the day. Though the rushing attack came to life, the Cowboys’ inability to muster a balanced attack allowed the Redskins to control the tempo of the game. If Dallas continues to get minimal contributions from its pass-catchers, it will have a tough time competing with the elite teams in the NFC.
– Bucky Brooks
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:30 am
Hwndr,
Yup Nmamdi got his pick.
Trailing 14-0, it seemed like a game to toss in the towel, like so many others. Than Bruce engineered a 70 drive towards the end of the half, and we had a ballgame. A very exciting, passionatly played ballgame, on both sides.
Tyvon Branch is working towards a PB selection in the future. With Ed Reed and Troy P set as the PB safeties in the AFC it will be tough, but Troy is hurt so Branch may get the chance this year. He was out of his mind yesterday.
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:31 am
Richardson played lights out!!!
…………………………………….
He stopped Larry Johnson for a 3 or 4 yards loss on first L.Johnson carry
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:33 am
Tyvon Branch is for real, and Michael Huff is playing at a Pro Bowl level this season.
Huff is impresive in coverage, and his tackling is much better than it was before.
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:35 am
Can’t wait to hear all the crying on KNBR or NINERS personal channel they have nothing but jackasses on air .
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:37 am
Safety play is a bright spot in our defense for the first time in a long time, maybe since Rod Woodson retired
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:55 am
Isn’t it amazing how we have the same team, just different qb? Amazing how one different field general can make a difference, huh? The O showed spark and the D got their rest as needed. Good question that someone posted earlier…how bad is Seymour’s injury?
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:15 am
I can’t believe there are still people who believe Jamarcus could make it in the NFL. He’s a stiff, and he leads the league in fumbles!
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:22 am
The D is definitely solid right now. Marshall needs to tighten it up on 3rd and long. Teams pick that up against us way too many times. And the guys need to stop allowing a 50+ yard run or screen pass every week. But it seems like there aren’t any holes on that side of the ball where it’s like we NEED to replace this guy or that guy. I love our secondary right now. Nnamdi, CJ, Branch and Huff are all playing at a high level. The d-line is getting a push and much more physical than in years past.
This means that in the draft we can focus on drafting the best OL, WR or QB in the top-10, unless there’s a can’t-miss prospect somewhere else who just blows us away.
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:26 am
Here’s what scares me vs. Dallas:
- DeMarcus Ware
- Their running game
The o-line is going to have to step up big-time if we’re to have any shot in this one. And the D needs to be aggressive vs. the run but also avoid giving up the big running plays.
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:28 am
It seems our defense when pressed against our own goal-line is the best defense we play.I wonder what the % is against our D in red zone???
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:29 am
And Richardson slappin L;Johnson was great I agree El Tato
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:29 am
Chris in NY,
We need to look at a LB in the first-round, IMO. Our 3rd LB changes almsot every week, and that is why we give up these screens and long-runs, again IMO.
Lacking a physical presence. Kirk is solid in the pile, and Howard makes his plays, but nobody is intimidating anyone out there, and none of them are very good blitzers.
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:30 am
sup nation? nice game yesterday
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:31 am
And can we get a guy who know how to return kicks.
JLH is shook, I don’t know what happened to him, but he is making a B-line for the sidelines on all his punts. He sucks so bad, that I was generally excited when he had a 7 yard return in the second half.
Holland……boy he isn’t very good, and never seems to get out of third gear. Anything past the 25 is bonus these days.
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:36 am
Morning 408!!!
In Bruce we believe
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:37 am
I thought Kirk was is our glaring weak-spot.Dosent stick his head in a developing hole…bites on every fake…he know he got help around him and instead of flying head 1st into ball-carrier he bites on fake allowing 4 or 5 or 6 more yards.MLB is what we really need, imo
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:38 am
Hey 408!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:38 am
And with Ike always getting banged up…we need some gunners on ST!
As for our D, yup, I am one who is tired of giving up long TD plays to running backs on one play. Take away that 61 yarder, we held Cinci in check at the running game!
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:40 am
I agree Vegas…down 14-zipp and we was only getting warmed up…Big Win against best team in AFC!!!! The NATION RE-JOYCE-ETH!!! =)
November 23rd, 2009 at 7:41 am
We won baby! The D pulled it out! Grad was ok, nothing spectacular, but hey, it’s his first start…so Grad’s first start: 17/34, 183, 2 td 1 int….Gannon’s first start 16/31, 227, 0 td 1 int… I bet MR was in here back in ‘99 bytching about Gannon (34) not being the future and how everything sucks, etc…. A win is a win baby, I friggin enjoyed it! The D was awesome!

Vegas,
Did you lose your mind at the 1 minute mark when DMAC barely got that 1 yd for the first down?
AGAIN?
Well at least Cable didn’t blow 20 seconds thinking about whether to call a timeout.
Cable is getting better. Just needs an OC and playcaller so he can focus on game management.

November 23rd, 2009 at 7:58 am
The only thing that brought me down last night, is when espn put up the AFC playoff hopefuls and there was a few 4-6 teams that made the screen.
Man if we could have beat the sorry Chiefs, we could have made the page and been only 2 games out of the 6th seed!!!!!

wow, it was refreshing watching an offense that actually had a hitch in their step. You see what happens when someone is in there that knows what is going on and takes control of the team? And someone who is in there that doesn’t weigh 270 and moves like molasses with a brick for a brain?
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:00 am
Vegas
slow down there buddy
??playoffs?? (herm edwards voice) ??playoffs??
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:00 am
I still wish we would run a reverse for DHB, and use him in the slot. They threw him the ball a lot yesterday and he didn’t beat Hall or Joseph 1 time. If you keep it real, that PI call he drew should have been on him. Grads is not going to shine with DHB having to go against top corners each week. Cable should think about creating a mismatch to get him on a LB, S, or nickle corner.
We need an OC!
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:01 am

***********************************
I thought the scenario was ripe for a draw, 3rd and 1 we had to get the first, and could have spiked it or called a timeout afterwards. So I think it was the right call….and because I am in a good mood I will say Darren got the job done, albeit barely, but he did.
The last two weeks Cable has been very aggressive calling timeouts on D at the end of the first half. Worked into a 57 yard FG attempt yesterday, even though he missed, he is putting a lot of faith and showing confidence in both the O to get points and the D to get the stop.
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:03 am
3 penalties for 13 yards. The zebras had no say.

9-7 is still out there.
(Just kidding, but it is fun to say)
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:07 am
You didn’t answer the question Vegas, lol!
I would have loved to see your reaction when that play unfolded. It was NOT clear that he got the first down, and he was a half of a foot from NOT making it.
I am ROTFLMFAO right now!
Cmon, bruh! You KNOW you were seconds from blowing a gasket. Or shall I say, less than a foot. I could just imagine your DMAC rant had he not got that half a foot. Like you say, it was RIPE, and he BARELY got a yard.
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:08 am
I know we been saying wait till next year for 2 long…but Cable and the team will be improved and we make that page next year Vegas.Gonna have 2B a better field-general 2 take the job from Grads, imo and I dont see anyone on the horizon.
We suffered 2 fumbles and an interception but every time we had the ball except once we moved the chains. And when we didnt score after moving the chains Lechler pinned em deep. The offense is gonna open up more and more as Grads gets comfortable,Dmac only had 10 yards receiving but he gotta start somewhere.Look 4 Dmac 2 thrive with Grads, imo

Yup. And it was noticeable. Props to him for sticking it out. He made that big 4th and 10 catch on the last drive. Imagine that pass going to DHB instead? ugghhh!

Jhill Cincy had the ball most of the 1st half then we roughly split the second half.We had 16 1st downs so 2me we really was moving the chains.Maybe we only had the ball a third of the game but we havnt had 16 1st downs in a long time

Gooooo McFadden! 6 carries yesterday!
3rd and 1 draw play? Yikes Cable!

thx j hill i thought something didnt look right when he motioned. he looked like he was hurting. hope he can go this week after a rather quick turn around. he ate up dallas in 1st qrtr of preseason game 1. 5 catches in a quarter. like to see chaz and murphy start. or at least some 3 wr sets with dhb in the slot. granted murphy has dropped a lot of balls, but he seems to get open a lot more frquently than dhb

actually dmac although not to productive, has been lowering shoulder and going thru the tackler, instead of tripping on hash marks. like to see a lil more of that from him.
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:25 am
I don’t know guys. I think I am like the defense in that I feel it is 100% on them and the STs to win the games for us. The thing that stands out to me from yesterday is the red zone defense. 3 trips deep into the red zone, and we hold them to 3 pts. That was OUTSTANDING! STs coming up with a big fumble recovery was huge.
I give the offense all the credit in the world for finding away to overcome a 4th and 10, with under a minute to go down 7 points, and win the game.
But let’s be honest. It’s going to be our defense that carries us, while the offense comes along.

Last year DMAC split out wide and caught some passes. I’d like to see him out in open space a little more.
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:27 am
mitchell played good on the series he played early. (1st td for cinci). he came up made a good tackle, covered a guy in endzone and then only see the field on our return game. while eugene was out there in 4th qrtr and on st’s kickoff & punts. why?????????????????????
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:29 am
I’ve read that Mitchell struggles in coverage. He seems to stuff the run well in the red zone.

I agree with that Jhill.A good MLB will make other teams punt instead of trying for F/G’s.Red Zone D has been waay above average so far this year, imo

Local news said earlier Kyle Orton wore a boot last night. If he doesn’t play against the G-Men, I think the Donks lose by a fortyburger.
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:32 am
i dont think he is on the field enough to tell if he does struggle or not. ive watched every minute of every game, and altho he doesnt play often, i can remember him allowing any catches to anyone. he covered slot wr yest in end zone. eugene we all have seen struggle in coverage and is too small to tackle. im not on mitchells jock colorado, i just happen to think that from what ive seen, he should be on field b4 eugene. he is constantly around the ball st’s and the few series he gets to play
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:34 am
Just going by what I’ve read. I agree with you though. Would like to see him on the field more.

a lot of people on here have talked a lot of shyt about money warren. i think he’s much better than tommy kelly. kelly makes 3x what warren does. i see warren in the backfield a lot. doesnt make a lot of plays, but gives a helluva lot better effort than kelly

November 23rd, 2009 at 8:38 am

Perfect example yesterday of a fast finesse defense out quicking the mammoth O-line.
This is also a good matchup against the Cowboys who are a big power line.
I’m hoping the short week does not take the jump out of Warren and Ellis’s legs.
They were off the line sooo fast yeasterday.
November 23rd, 2009 at 8:45 am
NewEnglandRaider,
as for Mitchell, I wonder if the coaching staff interprets his pass coverage development as needing work. A good QB like Carson could give a pump fake or look-away to rookie, have him bite and then it’s sayonara six.

tommy kelly is one of the highest pd dts in the nfl. maybe he need another off season for his knee to fully heal. that being said nothing about this guy impresses me. nothing. he seems to just go thru the motions, doesnt seem to be trying very hard, always looks gassed. if we are gonna cut one of our high priced players this off season, it should be him. no way does he deserve the $ he is making. i think he was better earlier in career when he would plat de instaed of dt

Gritty Raider victory!!!! Chaz, thanks for showing up at 75% and making a hugh difference. Murphy has skills and should recognized as the # 2 reciever, Chaz #1 when healthy. The Raiders are learning the hard way money does not always make the player. The player must earn the position through hard work and dedication and should not be expected to be treated as royalty because of what the Raider organization thinks he can achieve.
I don’t care what color the win comes from as long as the Raiders win.I like the position the Raiders are taking, put the best man in there to get the win. I would think it would be that simple for Raiders fans.In my opinion, Russell had and still has a fair shot at starting if he is the best player.
Enjoy the win Raiders fans. Wins in the NFL don’t come easy.

I’ll let you all continue on the obvious blame for the players that you think are holding the team back from any hope of winning.
I’m going to at least post a positive comment on some players that don’t throw or catch the football.
Mattt Shaughnessey is the real deal. I was at the game and he is starting to dominate. The young man needs a year of weight training and some technique to his position. He is holding the point of attack, and is a better pass rusher since camp opened in July. Big improvement for the Defensive line. Matt Shaughnessey can dominate, it’s the work and time for this player.
Tyvon Branch has been discussed, not to the degree he should have been. Tyvon tackles well, improved from last year, his cover skills are excellent and he is playing up to a high standard from last year.
Tyvon can read defenses and understands what the team is asking him to cover and compete at that position.
Tyvon is still a gunner on punt returns also, and is excellent there to.
Brandon Myers who was not activated for the first four games is a good blocker and receiver. Watching him on our running plays he has been able to lead on the point of attack and runs better routes than most would have guessed. Plays great special teams. Myers is on the field, Zach Miller has been doubled by most teams, unless Myers is on the field. Zach Miller is free to pass protect less and has been in the pass pattern more often.
Desmond Bryant needs to gain weight through lifting weights. Bryant can hold the point of attack, and is a very good pass rusher from the Defensive tackle position. Looks to be wearing down and the off season weight conditioning should help improve his time on the field. My impressions are he is very similar to Richard Seymour, with his determination and never give up attitude.
Mike Mitchell is always looking to hit somebody. He is fun to watch on special teams. He is advertised as this blog commented about last spring. The Raiders currently interchange their safetys. I hope he is ready to play more next year, his physical nature in the box or the strong safety will be a better physical presence we desperately need.
I’ll let you guys continue to shout out you hatred for the others, but some players are playing better than some of you thought.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Comment from last week. Stop looking at one person who is obviously holding back the team. There are other players improving and will be better. Not all of our drafts are a bust. I think we should tell AL the first round is really round 3 or six. He will get a good player.

To all of you who wanted to see the Coliseum empty, it was close. I decided to go. I’m a member of Raider Nation! I’m there good and bad. Call me stupid or whatever childish name you can think of, that was a game I ‘ll never forget.
We were a 11 point underdog at home, against a team that had beaten Pitt twice and Ravens twice, top 10 defense, top 15 offense.
They played hard, no less without Seymour for the entire game on defense.
The big “IFFFFFF” when we get this offense worked out and the players play like yesterday, or like the Philly game or SD game this team will win consistently.
The defense is better and as a unit plying better than anytime last year.
Get the D off the field and you’ll see a top 10 defense. The offense can move the ball and create enough movement this team will be on the field less and won’t be giving up big plays as much.
November 23rd, 2009 at 9:55 am
I said it last week that my gut feeling was that Grad would inspire this team, good win. Now Dallas r playing bad, we need to shut down Austin who is on the left side of the field which means he will be matched up with CJ I don’t know why can’t asmough shadow the best wrs? If we shut down Austin game will be over as Homo will keep throwing it to Witten. We also need to stop the run, F Jones will motivated to play against his friend Mcfumble. Go Raiders win win win

Dakota:
Point well taken.
With that being said, I really do believe in the “3-year” rule when it comes to the NFL draft.
Look at the list of players below:
In my opinion, they’re all good players.
But, I don’t think any of their 1st actual playing years in the league had anyone jumping up and down.
Mario Henderson,
Tyvon Branch,
Johnnie Lee Higgins,
Michael Bush,
Jay Richardson,
Oren O’Neal (yeah, I still think he’ll be a Raider again – and a good one)
Darren McFadden,
Trevor Scott,
Chaz Schilens
Sure, some of these examples are better than others, but, the point is that every one of them showed you enough to believe that there’s something there.
The year’s not even over, so I personally am not even close to declaring DHB or Mitchell as bad picks.
I know I sound stupid in saying this, but, I’m the only human being on the planet that believes DHB will prove to be a better receiver than Crabnuts.
Crabnuts is a reincarnation of Keyshawn Johnson (slow but good possession receiver). He ain’t gonna get any faster.
DHB has started running some really good routes. Pass-cathing has a ton to do with confidence. And just as Cliff Branch did in his 3rd year, I think DHB will figure it out sooner than later.
And when he does, that speed will be a serious weapon that you CAN’T teach.
I’ve got the same belief in this kid that you do in D-MAC.
I also think D-MAC will be great when it’s all said and done.
But if I was going to adopt the “what have you done for me” theory, I could easily declare D-Mac a bust as well.

You can let er “rip”. Many problems still need to work out on offense. I’m pleased with the two tightend offense. The players blocked well and all of the tightends can catch.
You DHB guys who can’t stand him, and have called him everything you can think off. The guys works his ass off during the game, prior to the game and has emotion on the field. Everything you wish Jamarcus had.
I will not call this guy a bust yet, if he continues to work the production will be there, he wants to get better. His actions show me he cares and yes he knows he is being criticized.

Gradkowski should be kept in there for rest of the year….until he screws up badly and costs wins…..like what Russell was doing before, costing the team wins by playing terribly.
Russell also needs to start showing that he is serious about being a leader, hard worker and being a winner.
That means he needs to use all that money he doesn’t deserve on a personal trainer and lose 15-20 pounds and get in the best shape of his life and put in long hours of studying film instead of spending that undeserved money on drinking, bling, and just flat out being lazy.

Right now people are looking at this win as an anomaly. Sort of, ‘what did the Bengals do wrong?’ rather than giving the Raiders credit for being good enough to beat just about anyone with competent play at the QB position. Beat Dallas on Thursday and that will change.

It occurs to me that what Darrius Heyward-Bey needs is hypnotherapy. There is nothing wrong with his physical skills, but the vapor lock in his brain discourages his hands.
KidSeven,
Nnamdi had to be the best corner in the game for years before he made the Pro Bowl. Anti-Raider bias will on Tyvon as well.

Some pleasant observations that I made from my seat yesterday:
1. On just about every occasion that Gradkowski came to the sideline, JaMarcus was there to greet him, to cheer him on, and to offer his insights.
JaMarcus could have reacted one of two ways to his benching: Sulk or learn from it.
Well, if yesterday was any indication, he wants to learn and get better.
He was totally engaged with the coaches & players during the whole game.
And on the last drive, he was waving a towel in support of his teamates.
Call it sappy if you want, but, I think it showed a lot of maturity & heart from a young kid who’s struggled with maturity since he’s entered the league.
Good stuff.
Keep it up JaMarcus.
Keep watching.
Keep working.
Keep learning.

I also recall some of the comments last year when Ochocinco was trying to get out in Cinn. They were lobbying hard for Davis to trade for him. I was amused by his wednesday talk to the media and his upright team first talk and praising the Raiders team.
I saw I guy yesterday hang his head and become frustrated.
For the record Ochocinco caught 4 balls for 67 yards, three were in zone coverage and one against Nnamdi.
I stopped counting by the end of the third quarter, he lined up against Nnamdi for 36 snaps.
Finally at the games end he was quoted how they the Bengals should have never loss to the Raiders. Ocho cinco you should of said that wednesday during the media session, you phoney bastard.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has been around long enough to know a thing or two about succeeding in the NFL. His history tells him that the odds don’t favor Raiders rookie receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey.
Ochocinco wasn’t asked specifically about Heyward-Bey, but he left little doubt to whom he was referring when he spoke at length about sure hands. Ochocinco intimated the ability to catch is something a receiver is born with and that learning how to catch after reaching the NFL is a recipe for disaster.
You can’t be in the NFL and try to work on it now because it’s too late,” Ochocinco said in a conference call with Bay Area reporters. “You should be ready to play. You can’t come into the NFL and then they have to teach you how to play receiver.”

Right now people are looking at this win as an anomaly. Sort of, ‘what did the Bengals do wrong?’ rather than giving the Raiders credit for being good enough to beat just about anyone with competent play at the QB position. Beat Dallas on Thursday and that will change.
==================
LOL..no, sorry Chris.
It was an anomaly.
How could it have not been? Yes, it’s a win, but do you not believe KC’s win against Pitts was an anomaly? Obviously Pitt is not as good as perceived, but losing to KC?
Bengals losing to the Raiders?
Was one of those ugly games that someone had to get a W.
Matters little that they fumbled away the game at the end, but it’s not like it was an earned win.

To me, he reprents the Jim Otto-type of heart that is sorely lacking in today’s glam athlete.
I never said anything about his talent. But the guy has absolutely no regard for his body or well-being.
He gives it all up for his team on every play.

Wow
I have been reading the posts from MR. Very ignorant and bigoted – can not see the obvious. Lets see Gradokowski had as many passing TDs in one game as rest of season? Gradokowski is not an average NFL QB but JR was terrible! He was so bad he was making the offense as bad as the ill coached 2006 offense and that is flat out terrible. JR as I watched him was probably the worst QB I have ever seen play in the NFL this year. He was one of the worst ever. Last year he was showing some promise at the end of the year but regressed. I guess he thought he arrived and did not need to prepare. No one is that good and JR is definitely not that good to pull that.

Listen, if DHB becomes a decent player is not the question, it is the position and the money been given to him that matters. Somebody mentioned Meachem, Meachem was a 27th pick not 7th overall pick. When selecting a player that high you either get a Calvin Johnson or you get Troy Williamson. Now, DHB seems closer to Williamson then C Johnson. Just like Williamson, fast but cant catch. Even if DHB gets better, what numbers will he put up? 40 catches 500 yards 4 td numbers or 85 catches 1200 yards 10 tds thats the numbers a top ten pick produces. I will be honest DHB is Troy Williamson cousin.

Agreed. Grads is a good backup QB at best. But, he is still outperforming the starter. If we had a good or great QB, we would be talking playoffs instead of draft picks.
November 23rd, 2009 at 11:22 am
Our chances will jump 50% if Romo doesnt start or cant throw deep passes because of his injury. All we need is to stop the run, easy said then done but if we can limit Cowgirls running game then we can shutdown Austin, Roy Williams is addition in subtraction, dude talks too much cant run routes and complains alot. I dont think he had any catches yesterday.
November 23rd, 2009 at 11:22 am
Haven’t heard anything yet today. Probably won’t know until Wed.
November 23rd, 2009 at 11:23 am
Hope to see more passes go Schilens’ way vs. Dallas and on into the future. Schilens’ 25-yard reception in yesterday’s game is everything we’ve been missing from our WRs all season long. Go up and snatch the ball out of the air between tight coverage. If that was either of our rookies it’s either incomplete or it bounces off their hands and the Bengals bring it back for a pick-6.
Murphy made a nice play on the TD. He’s had several nice plays this season. But he’s been inconsistent too and has probably as many drops as DHB (although he’s probably had at least 2x as many passes thrown his way too).
DHB has been a mess, but I do like the kid’s mentality. Hopefully they can teach him to catch. I’ve never been impressed with the kid’s game on the field, either in the NFL or what I saw of him in college. But if he has the raw athleticism, the work ethic and the willingness to be taught then there’s always hope. It’s not going to happen this season for him but if he works hard and maintains his confidence then things maybe could be different in a year or two. The one good thing I see with his game is that, like Murphy, he’s a willing and able blocker.
Also, vs. Dallas, I’d like to see them make more of an effort to draw up some plays to put McFadden in position to break some big plays. I know he’s been a disappointment — mainly because of injuries but also fumbles — but he’s still explosive and I just feel like some big Run DMC plays are bubbling just below the surface.

Richocrap:
So. . . . .you say I’m in “image” fan.
Sure, fine. . . .sound good to me. You’re right – I’m an image fan.
I love the “image” of the Raiders – whatever.
I haven’t missed one single snap of Raider football in 31 years (either in person, on TV or on the Radio). NOT ONE SNAP.
My ass was firmly planted in my seat at the Coliseum during the last kneel-down by the Jets in a 38-0 spanking.
Where the hell were YOU Richocrap, during that last snap?
You’re right dude. I’m all about the “image”.
It makes you feel all warm inside to say that? I’m happy for you.
In the meantime, while you get off on your weak little comments, I’ll keep being a Raider fan. . . .image or no image.
And as for Fargas, how about actually reading what I said about him you blind piece of crap? If you had a brain, you would understand that I wasn’t comparing his skills to the “tooze”, “the snake”, etc.
But you’re too ignorant.
And before I part, and before you come back with your weak attempts at a response, tell us all right now:
WHY DO YOU, RICHOCHET, LOVE THE RAIDERS?
Tell us all.
You constantly dodge this question.
Tell us what YOU love about the Raiders. Apparently, my love for the “mystique”, the “image”, the “aura”, the “commitment to excellence” are all WEAK.
So then, tell us why YOU love the Raiders.
Please tell us.

It will be nice to watch a game this week without the scratchy sond, poor resolution, and functionality of streaming internet video.
November 23rd, 2009 at 11:31 am
hey , first off ” Garbagekowski” gives the Raiders the best chance to win. He is the best QB on the team right now. He is a solid QB who commands the offense. Now I am not saying he is the face of the franchise, but right now he is the teams best shot at winning. He makes JabeefFrank look like a little kid.
I also know that many here don’t know much about the guy, but I had a chance to watch the dude play during his stint at Tampa ( wife is a Bucs fan) I was impressed by his play during his time there. He also had a handful of games where is QB rating was in the 100’s. He is smart, a leader and knows what to do with the ball. And his biggest asset is that he is an accurate passer.
So all of you JR leeches on here get a clue. It really blows my mind to still see supporters. It boils down to 3 options…
A. You don’t know jack dick about football.
B. You bought all his gear and are now a upset little brat.
C. You are family.
Did you follow the guys career in college? He was mediocre at best. He had one good game and was drafted for that ONE game. That is a fact. He is not a NFL QB, not yet. He has a long way to go and a ton of work to do. And from what is being said about him by his college teammates is no surprise. They say his work ethic is for sh-t and he is lazy.
Like I said, he is the face of the franchise, but right now he is the teams best chance at winning

If we win against Dallas, then Pit without Polumalo and Big Ben is going to be easy game. They also lost Charlie Batch and now they might looking at Garcia or Cleo Clemons. All we need is consistency in moving the chain and getting first downs, we give our defense a time to rest, they play motivated and we can win. This team plays with emotion, when we are all in one spirit offense, defense, Special teams, Fans, we are unstoppable, that is why we been losing in games JR would misses open WRs or throw it 2 the other team. We are getting lucky with teams getting banged up while we getting healthy now.

My biggest laugh, is the guys commenting to all to see on this blog, to not go and attend the game.
The thinking was to embarass Davis. Yet I read this morning the previous threads and some of the same tools were upset they couldn’t find the game on the internet. I see you don’t want us to go to the game, yet you guys are looking for bootleg sites to watch. You guys are insane and quite funny.”
Feeling a little self righteous because you went to the game Dell? Hell I was at the game yesterday as well, but if I wasn’t, I would have been scrambling on the internet as well. Does that make me insane? Come on man.
If boycotting is something that people believe in, personally I don’t, it is there perogative to not spend their hard earned money in this rough economy. Does this mean that they shouldn’t be able to watch the game just because they don’t want to spend their money on an inferior product? Thankfully I have enough disposable income to be able to go to the games if I so choose, but not everyone is as lucky as myself.
Lately your posts have been a little condescending as if you know more than most about the Raiders. I respect your opinion, it is well educated, yet you have begun to demonstrate a tone of righteousness that seems very unbecoming.
Just wanted to give you a little perspective on how you are perceived by some.

So all of you JR leeches on here get a clue. It really blows my mind to still see supporters. It boils down to 3 options…
A. You don’t know jack dick about football.
B. You bought all his gear and are now a upset little brat.
C. You are family.
—————————————————–
How about D, some of us are Raider fans. I personally root for all 53 guys on the team. From Slade Norris, to Cornbread Green, to Jamarcus Russell. I even hoped that Turdell Sands got his shyt together, as I do Warren, Kelly, and every one else who puts on our Jersey.
My question is how can Raider fans NOT want the guy to succeed? We invested a lot of $ in this kid, so why is it a bad thing to HOPE that he gets his head together. The appropriate action was taken by benching the kid. It does the RAIDERS no good to cut him and not make an ATTEMPT to get him on track.
Here’s to putting a foot in his ass!

___________________________________________________
_CLEVELAND (AP) – Former Seattle and Green Bay coach Mike Holmgren is interested inworking for the struggling Cleveland Browns.
Holmgren said on his weekly radio show on Seattle’s KJR that he has not yet spoken to Browns owner Randy Lerner, who is looking for a “serious, credible leader” football authority to run his struggling team. However, Holmgren did indicate he would welcome the chance to take on a rebuilding project like the 1-8 Browns.
“It takes a tremendous amount of energy, but there is a certain appeal there,” the 61-year-old Holmgren. “There’s something in my personality, too, that taking on those types of projects, that kind of gets me going. But there’s a lot of work to do.
“The important thing, going into any organization is that all of the principles, all of the decision makers are pointed in the same direction, with the same motives, the same desires, and then you have a chance.”
Holmgren was Seattle’s GM and coach for four seasons. He stepped down as coach after last season to spend more time with his family.
Last week, Browns Hall of Famer Jim Brown said Lerner had met with “one of the great football minds in this country,” and hinted that person may have been Holmgren. Brown is a senior adviser with the Browns.
Cleveland coach Eric Mangini, struggling in his first season with the Browns, refused to comment on reports that Holmgren was on Lerner’s wish list.
“Randy’s really handling that, so I’ll let him talk about that,” Mangini said this week.
The Browns, who have scored just five offensive touchdowns this season, visit Detroit (1-8) on Sunday.

Jhill,
you are right. Nothing wrong with wanting JR to succeed. I want him to succeed too. I just dont want him on the field when he is not ready. Currently he is not ready. I sure do hope he gets on a weight program in the offseason and dedicate himself. Kinda like pulling a Vince Young. JR is still young and most of us at that age with that kind of money would be a little full of ourselves too.
November 23rd, 2009 at 12:25 pm
I will be the first to say that I was a huge JR supporter. But as things progressed with him the harsh reality set in that he is not a NFL QB at this point. I am not saying to cut him loose ( but I have yelled this sentiment at times throughout games). Benching him is the first correct thing they have done. Now if his work ethic does not change and no further results are seen in the foreseeable future, they will have to get rid of him.

I have a hunch Garcia will be their guy though. He will spill the beans for them on our playbook plus he can play the role of Grad during the practice.

Hard to say because it sure would make sense geographically speaking. Holmgren owns a nice place in Santa Cruz and is a Bay Area native. You know how secretive Al is, if they have been in contact it would probably be kept under wraps. Plus I don’t see Al giving up his strong hold just yet…

The Real Madden Raider is a scum bag who does nothing but bash the raiders and keeps defending that fat pig who throws a 5 yard pass into the ground. Get this through your useless mind Madden Raider Jamarcus is done as a Raider, Grads has been in the NFL 4 years and fatso 3 years and theres a huge difference between them momo. Grads shows up early to meetings, understands the playbook. keeps in good shape, very mobile which you need to be when your behind a average Off Line, Throws accurate, short passes and runs, thats what wears down a defense retard. Remember Gannon or are you still that stupid. Jamarcus 3 years in the NFL, out of shape, doesnt like to show up at meetings, throws 2 td passes in 9 games cant read a D. So my question to you, you dumb moron how do you keep defending this guy when he doesnt want to get better?

So you admit, it was the game planning in recent weeks, and not Russell. If we give Russell the game plan we gave Gradkowski yesterday, we win as well. And, we gave Russell a similar gameplan in weeks one and two, where we won week two, and only lost week one because of a poor defensive scheme at the end. Russell’s go ahead TD pass in week one was a bomb to Murphy. You guys are ready to enshrine Gradkowski in Canton for throwing his go ahead TD pass yesterday. Russell did the same thing in week one when given a more conservative gameplan, against a team that’s good, just like the Bengals. I don’t know what your guys’ agenda is, but whatever it is, you’re not using your brains.

Ok clear difference between Grad and JR.
1) Foot work: Just watch JR footwork compared to Grad this week. I can post two highlights when JR drops back, he clearly lacks the mechanics that Grad has.JR seems out of the pocket, scared and clearly can’t play under center. His tds came from Shotgun position.
2)Accuracy: Remember M Vick when he had R White and Jenkins they were dropping the balls left n right, everybody said Vick didnt have a number 1 wide receiver well, Matt Ryan comes in and makes White a pro bowler, why? When you throw the ball, you gotta know how much zip you let it have, JR doesn’t know that. Besides he misses open wrs, he doesn’t sees open targets downfield and by the time he makes his decision, coverage looks down on the Wrs. Grad reads plays better and clearly didnt miss any open receiver yesterday. Besides, short passes is his speciality which JR lacks.
3) Pocket Presence: JR doesnt command the huddle, Grad clearly inspires his offense. Grad is not afraid of taking that hit, JR gets rid of the ball or holds to the ball too long, there is no balance in his plays.
4) Leadership and accountability: Enough said in this topic.
5) Playbook: Listen to all analysts, they said JR can read half the field, he didnt know how to lineup his offense in the start of the game, he clearly needs to put on the work. Grad is a complete QB right now better and more equipped to lead this team. I didnt even state all the work ethic and other stuffs about JR, just facts.

November 23rd, 2009 at 1:00 pm
True Raider, the point is, we changed the playbook for Gradkowski, giving him more throws to the running back. Why not the changes for Russell? I don’t care if Russell’s so stupid that he can’t even make throws to the running back. So the solution is to instead give him plays into coverage downfield? When Russell was given a playbook similar to what Gradkowski was given yesterday, in weeks 1 and 2, we fared well. We would have been 2-0 if not for the prevent D we used at the end of SD.

Tom Cable ….
Should he get another year just for bringing John Marshall on board? Imagine this defense next year, especially with a couple of high round draft picks added.
Then again, how can the WRs not know that they could come to work on Tuesdays?
I think at a minimum, Cable should be looking for an OC and playcaller to add to the staff. He needs to focus more on being a Head Coach instead of trying to learn how to call plays and come up with game plans.

The past weeks games aren’t available for free on NFL.com, TrueRaider, just yesterday’s game. So there’s no way your link is going to prove that the playcalling was different from game to game, because you’ve only got a link to ONE GAME. Nice try, slick. You should be a corporate spinmeister. Well, let’s face it, you kind of are, for the Raiders. And unpaid, at that, which is sad.
I’ve watched the previous games and I can see for myself that Russell was getting more passing plays designed to go downfield than Gradkowski was getting yesterday. Lots of slants and underneath routes. Even the final TD pass was underneath coverage. If Russell was in there, the play would have been designed to go over the top and you guys would be blaming russell for the pass getting batted down.

What alot ppl dont realize is that by benching JR, all the players felt we have a chance to win, it is motivation factor. Grad is not a pro bowler or a suburb QB, but he is inspired the Raider players in believing they have a chance to win. It is like when you know your teammate sucks and he gets benched you feel the next guy give you a better chance to win. JR had his chance, now Grad is in until he proves his teammates wrong.

DMC has been a disappointment all around but he’ll come around.
He’s a much more well rounded back then Rankin or Echemandu and has made huge strides pass protection.
He looked good yesterday. Oaklands offensive plays got cut down in the 1st half by Cincy and the Raiders D being unable to get off the field.
Hope DMC gets it together but man, its been a let down for sure.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Good afternoon, Nation. Fine afternoon, isn’t it? Victory against a very good Cincy team. Russell is on the bench, where he belongs, until he learns how to be a man. Now, if Cable found the cahones to bench DHB, we’d be in even better shape. But I’ll take what I can get.
Is there any other receiver in the league that can miss a pass as bad as DHB does? Cable didn’t figure on having to teach a 1st rounder how to catch, now did he? I’m sure he’s watching Crabtree and punching the dummy of Davis he has in his house.

November 23rd, 2009 at 1:34 pm
TrueRaider,
You’re going over board trying to use Grads as the example. Russell has his issues, but CMON.
Grads had 180 yds passing, 2 turnovers, and completed 50% of his passes. He had all day to throw yet Murphy and DHB didn’t catch a ball until the last drive.
Comparing the 34th best QB in the league to the 35th really isn’t saying much.
Gradkowski, Russell, or who ever else you put in there will not be able to force Murphy and DHB to get involved. And having them in the lineup most of the time will mean our QB is going to produce games that have him passing for under 200 yds, around 50% completions because of drops and guys not being open, and a couple turnovers that are just the natural course of the game.
With an offense like that, we need our defense and STs to have at least 5 or 6 pro bowlers on it. We need to keep teams under 20 pts to have a shot a winning.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:35 pm
True Raider, I’ll happily await any quotes you have from players saying that Russell being benched motivates them. And I love the way you put it, too. “what you guys don’t realize is”. LOL. No need to bash Grads or Russell.
The offense PRODUCED the same stats and pts as any other non blowout game we’ve been in. It may have LOOKED better, but the PRODUCTION was still the same. Running game was even worse.
We need to figure out a way to get the defense to play like that every week. No matter what is going on with the offense, there is enough talent on that side of the ball to hold teams to 20pts or less. We had a chance to win yesterday b/c the DEFENSE did it’s job, not b/c of Gradkowski’s energy.

Relax on Grads boys its his first start of the season, 2 td passes is not bad for your first game. The other momo threw 2 tds in his last nine, cmon pull for Grads and keep bashing the idiot MR.

Nnamdi, thanks for correcting my egregious misspelling of Ech-E-mandu.
However, as for your main point I must disagree. Darren did not look OK yesterday. He looked like sixth rounder at best.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:44 pm
Yep. That’s how bad Russell is. The Nation just breathed a sigh of relief now that the lazy fat dummy is on the bench. We’ll take mediocre-at-best over immature-fat-lazy-stupid-and-slow, any day of the week and twice on Sunday!
——————————————————-
I think most people just want to see obvious things done the right way.
DHB should not be starting.
Fargas should not have more touches than Bush and DMAC.
Walker should not be behind Watkins and JLH.
Pears and Barnes should not have been starting.
McQuistan should have got a look.
Hiram Eugene should not be on the field.
Morrison is not a MLB.
And Russell should not be out of shape.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:46 pm
True Raider, guess I’m not going to get that quote, huh? How would you know what the Raiders’ players are motivated by? What connection do you have with them? How many of them have you ever spoken to personally? For all you know, they could be pissed about Russell being benched. They could feel the same way I feel about it, that Russell was sabotaged with a crap playbook, for all you know. Talking about what motivates the players as if you know anything about what the Raiders players are feeling. Paalease.

Bo,
Don’t worry, Kevin Gilbride will figure out how to get McFadden involved in the offense next year while Cable begins terrorizing Seattle women.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Not sure how you can blame the coach. Darren is only good at getting THE OTHER TEAM’S offense involved.
If he can’t return kicks, cut the bust.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:47 pm
And, btw, for most of the game yesterday our team did not look motivated. They looked distraught, and we’re losing up till the final moments. If anything, the defense looked more hyped up because they were blitzing more. As far as the offense goes? I saw the same inept bunch. Playcalling saved them in the end. It could have saved Russell, too. We’ll never know.

True Raider, any quotes from players to back that up? What player said straight up that with Russell out of there, the team is more motivated? You’re making things up, now? Is that it?
======================================================
Sure, it is not direct quotes but that what it sounds like. Btw, since I am providing the quotes, why dont you prove that the play calling was switched for Grad, I gave the link for the game, give me mins and quarter, please back it up like I am doing.
“Bruce gives us the best chance to win right now,” tight end Zach Miller said.
“One, a passion for the game, a love for the game that he shows in the way he plays, the way he calls plays,” Fargas said. “The way he works on details of plays with players. That’s the main thing I’m seeing with him. It’s just, he’s a get-after-it type of guy.
“You want to make a play for your quarterback, but when he shows that type of passion for the game, obviously guys are going to feed off it and try to give him that same effort.”
“I think they have respect for me,” Gradkowski said of his teammates. “The important thing is they know I’m going to prepare and work hard. If you do that, you just have to go out on game day and play hard and let the chips fall into place.”

LOL!
I’m rooting for Grads, no question about that. The minute I see him throw a nice deep ball, then I’ll really be on board. I was never a fan on Garcia or Gannon’s style of play. Heck, even now I wish Charlie Frye was starting.

O.K. – so this is my last official response to Richocrap:
RICHOCHET: AGAIN, you have no idea how pathetic you are, having said that..oh…a FEW DOZEN TIMES. 3rd time today, lol..admit it, you’re weak. You’re slow. And I’m your daddy.
=====================================
Richocrap:
So. . . . .you say I’m in “image” fan.
RICHOCHET: Actually, no..YOU SAID IT. You whined on and on about how you became a Raider fan because of AL DAVIS. Because of the IMAGE he presented. The “us against them” the “bad boy” IMAGE..YOUR WORDS. Yeah, you’re an image fan..makes you a joke.
AND YES, YOU TOLD MANY POSTERS ON THIS BOARD IF THEY DID NOT support Al and “his image” of the Raiders, they should GO FIND ANOTHER TEAM..again, YOUR words.
Tell me..honestly..did that pirate on your shirt get the kids to stop laughing at you?
—————————–
I haven’t missed one single snap of Raider football in 31 years (either in person, on TV or on the Radio). NOT ONE SNAP.
RICHOCHET: according to who? YOU? Means nothing..you’re desperate to explain why you TELL OTHER POSTERS TO LEAVE IF THEY DON’T LOVE AL. makes you weak. Makes you a fool. Anyone can lie.
My ass was firmly planted in my seat at the Coliseum during the last kneel-down by the Jets in a 38-0 spanking.
Where the hell were YOU Richocrap, during that last snap?
RICHOCHET: I was beside Al, in the box, slapping him for his bad choices, while stealing his chips. See how the “saw what I want” thing works?
===================================
In the meantime, while you get off on your weak little comments, I’ll keep being a Raider fan. . . .image or no image.
RICHOCHET: Until Al dies..then you’re gone.
And as for Fargas, how about actually reading what I said about him you blind piece of crap? If you had a brain, you would understand that I wasn’t comparing his skills to the “tooze”, “the snake”, etc.
RICHOCHET: rigggggt..he’s just your 2ND FAVORITE RAIDER PLAYER OF ALL TIME. What has he done for the Raiders? NOTHING? What has he brought that a hundred other highly producing, very instrumental players of the past brought? Nothing.
Words spoken by a fan who’s just ‘RECENTLY’ started following the Raiders.
Why do I just KNOW that all of your Raider gear is dated 2002? Where, during the playoff run, you pulled a RobG, and all of a sudden became a “RAIDER FAN”?
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Jhill. Agreed. DHB should not be starting and I’m hoping Cable works that out with Al soon. Not to give up on the kid. Just let him sit for now and give him a few plays per game.
Bush should take the load and we need some to utilize DMAC better. Walker should have seen the field by now.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
JHill Grads doesnt have the arm strenth to go deep, but you dont have to if you got fast players five and ten yard passes will work all day as long as you are accurate. When the D can get some rest they are a very difficult unit to play against. The offense doesnt need to score every drive a little time consumption helps the D go a long way. Grads was to hyped when the game started but you can see when he settled down that he is a smart QB. When he rushed those guys to the line of scrimmage to give Seabass a chance at the half was impressing to me with no time outs. He has the smarts and work ethic

Every word that comes forth from your mouth will no longer be taken seriously by me. You are clueless to the game.
