In my mind you are spot on. It is true that we have the worst linebackers in the league BY FAR. Morrison and Howard cannot play PERIOD! You hardly ever hear their names called in regard to making tackles. Every now and then they get lucky, but generally they suck big time; and I mean BIG TIME. Guys, watch film of these hapless turds and see for yourself, when it comes to the big plays Cable talks about. The coaching staff and Al Davis, or whoever is the retard making important decisions is insistent on this stupid ass man to man defense crap. Read what Dallas coach Phillips said about it. My God, it is so freaking obvious that IT DOESN’T FREAKIN WORK!!! Man to man is toooooo predictable to scheme against for an opposing offense. The darn opposing coach said it outright.

F this pathetic franchise. They do not deserve you guys as fans. Al Davis is truly someone who is mentally unstable, and i’m sick of caring about this garbage of an organization that can’t even compete.

The glory years were nice, but they are LOOOOOONG GONE, and we have no hope whatsoever of ever being a team that matters as long as that mental case is running things.

Somebody please e-mail me if Oakland ever beats San Diego again. I hope I can live that long to see it.

Here’s what is amazing to me… The Raiders are 3-8, in another coach-threatening downward spiral, exhibiting the same excruciatingly painful traits they have for the past 7 years and there are 252 posts on this blog.
Raider Nation is a passionate bunch of great fans that frankly, aren’t fully appreciated by Al Davis or the rest of the team’s management.
In my view, the Raiders’ #1 priority should be to bring in an experienced GM who can provide the necessary stability, foresight and most importantly, remove Davis from the day to day running of this team. Why is Holmgren talking to the Browns!? Davis should be up his ass like a bad rash…
Keep the faith guys – if you’ve stuck around this long you might as well see how the movie ends….

Q: Is there a common theme to the big plays allowed?

Cable: There’s a couple of miscommunications. More than anything, we’re a man team, play press coverage, and we didn’t really play them up real tight. The runs, really, were empty gaps, people not defending the gap properly. But just too many of them. That’s really the tale of the game defensively.

I personally believe that Thomas Howard’s IQ + Kirk Morrison’s IQ combined, is less than every single QB in the NFL. You can’t win with dumb players as your starters. Ever since those 2 have been the starters, the defense has been getting GASHED. I say we gas ‘em both. Seriously. I saw them in a video one day at a grade school, involved in an impromptu version of “Are you smarter than a 5th grader?”. Those 2 idiots could not spell simple english words. They did not know the meaning of other words that a 5th grader would know. Frankly, they were stomped by the 5th graders.
Now, everytime I see the defense get stomped like they did on Thursday, I reminds me of Morrison & Howard getting stomped by those 5th graders. Is it really any wonder that the defense gets GASHED every game because “people” are in the wrong gap? They practice all f*ing week, & STILL aren’t sure of their assignments. Meanwhile, opposings OCs know exactly how to exploit their lack of intellect.

Dirt nap for Al! It’s a shame that we, as fans of this great franchise, have been reduced to waiting for the death of our owner GM so the team can become competitive again. I hate to wish ill will on anyone but I pray almost every night that Al will not wake up.

The only problem with your #2 is odds are not in Al’s favor that he will pick someone who fills all those shoes.
Not just Al but almost any owner is in the same boat.
When you get as old as me you discover the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
Its an old one but it fits well in this case.

Al will do what he wants to do, nonetheless I am of the belief that Cable can get us to 8-8 if he gets a good coach or three and lets someone else call the plays.
We could do a lot worse then having him as head coach.
