I think Bush is better.

Someone please explain why Michael Bush gets 114 yds. on 14 carries, then we NEVER see him again?

What sense does that make? And based on the fact they hardly EVER give Bush a chance, when they do, all he does is pick up big chunks of yardage. I believe Bush’s yds. per carry are BETTER than Fargas. I can’t fathom why when a guy goes for 114 yds. on 14 carries he gets benched. Just because the Raiders are dumb enough to bench the guy, it doesn’t make Fargas better. It just mean the powers that be don’t know what the he!! they are doing OR he’s in Al’s doghouse for some small perceived slight.

I can’t do it man – my koolaid includes Russell in the mix.

As long as he would accept less money and Gradkowski proves to be a legit starter, then I’d like to see the following with Russell:

Just sit him down and force him to watch, learn and work his tail off.

If he shows some “Eye of the Tiger” in him (I know – ha ha ha ha ha), then we can take the kid more seriously.

He’s got some skills. No, they’re not great skills like some people like to say. But there’s enough raw talent there and he’s made some really nice plays to warrant not giving up just yet.

If he takes less money, what do we have to lose?

It’s not my money and it’s not yours.

Sit his ass down and let him show you that he wants the job back.

And if he doesn’t do that, then as you suggested – we forget, admit we F’d up and move on.

I just think it’s too early. He’s started a total of 25 games and in those 25 games, he’s had a lot more nice plays than Alex Smith had in his entire 3 1/2 full seasons of football.

I still haven’t given up on DHB, and Darren could be more effective in varying roles. But Russell, forget about it. Let’s all just pretend that never happened.

But I enjoy the kool-aid myself, I have been off the deep end with Bruce since day 1 and I’m not stopping anytime soon.

He seems like a legit, old-school, hard-nosed safety.

And if Mitchell pans out, that’s like having 2 Huggy Bears on our defense (had to throw in the Fargas analogy).

Huff’s doing a great job though.

What to do with Mitchell is actually a nice problem to have. You’re only an injury away from needing the kid to step up and make an impact.
