Final: Redskins 34, Raiders 13
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, December 13th, 2009 at 4:28 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Scoring
Wash_Quinton Ganther 1-yard run (Graham Gano kicks PAT), 11:22
Wash_Ganther 1-yard run (Gano kicks PAT), 9:42
Wash_Gano 41-yard field goal, 2:47
Notes:
– Zach Miller hit hard by Rocky McIntosh, helped off the field. He appears OK, talking on bench. Raiders give it up on downs, JaMarcus Russell throwing incomplete as Redskins come in to run out the clock.
– Nnamdi Asomugha back in the game, upends Devin Thomas on reverse. Redskins go from second-and-16 to a first down on two basic running plays, get in position for 41-yard field goal by Gano. The game is the absolute definitition of garbage time.
– Sack-fumble by Brian Orakpo against Russell for 17-yard loss. Andre Carter misses chance to recover and Mario Henderson gets it. Raiders punt out of end zone, and Antwan Randle El fumble is recovered by Tony Stewart at the 50-yard line.
Huge break.
Except Russell is dumped by Lorenzo Alexander for a 9-yard loss and he’s barking at the line. Russell pass is tipped at the line. Raiders will punt again. On fourth-and-15, he’s sacked by Andre Carter.
– Russell intercepted by LaRon Landry at 41, Jason Campbell immediately hits Moss for 28 yards, Ganther eventually scores from the 1 and Raiders down 31-13 with 9:42 to play.
– Stanford Routt called for pass interference when Santana Moss slips on the grass . . .Redskins to the 30 on first-and-10.
Campbell converts third-and-6 first-down pass to Malcolm Kelly, with Tyvon Branch in coverage. Moss gets another first down, slipping tacklers on short pass, 8-yard gain first-and-goal at the 3.
Ganther scores touchdown from the 1-yard line.

with jamarcus russell this team has no chance.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
I just cant see how an old arse owner who supposedly has all the knowledge about the NFL doesnt realizes that Jamarcus is a clear bust, Ryan Leaf bust not David Carr bust. JR sucks so bad that even the birds were bowing his play. Anyways, I wish Bruce gets healthy and we should win against the Donkeys if Bruce starts otherwise we are toasted.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
we all knew the game was over as soon as Russell had to replace Gradkowski.the sad part is we will probably have to put up with this the resr of this year and next because the old man is so stubborn Russell will be the QB.it’s hard to imagine anyone could consider him a real NFL QB.

December 13th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
Jamarcus Russell is the worst QB in the entire NFL. He is a worthless piece of sh!t and should be cut immediately after the game. If anyone thinks differently, you should get on a roof and jump off head first. Tom Cable should be fired next. The play calling this game was absolutely pathetic. If we dont get a GM and a good head coach we will be finished for atleast another 3 seasons.

EXACTLY!
December 13th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Damn..watching on delay..and some of those short balls? where receiver/back just floats out? even those are high..and the receiver got hung out to dry.
Receivers have TO HATE THE GUY..they’ll never say it, because that’s suicide, but how can anyone on the team even want to see the guy in the huddle?
December 13th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
any update on Bruce??
December 13th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
J.R. IS A PIECE OF CRAP, MAN I CANT STAND WATCHIN HIM WITH HIS MOUTH WIDE OPEN LIKE HES JUST SO DAMMN TIRED.FAT FUC.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
How can an owner say: “Jamarcus is a great QB, get over it” say what? what greatness does he sees in him? even he knows he sucks. Cut him right away.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
Did Al Davis even interview Russell during the draft process?
Al DAvis is the WORST talent evaluator in the NFL!
How can you miss so badly!
December 13th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
Dallas or San Diego, either team loses is good news.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
Is Michael Bush injured?
December 13th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
JaBustus requires a pass blocking line that can provide at least 7-10 seconds of blocking. We don’t have that line nor will we have it in the forseeable future. JaBustus has NO pocket presence and has NO mobility. He’s just a blocking dummy to knock down.
JaBustus has NO FUTURE in the NFL. Cut our losses AD and let’s move on. Warm up Frye for next week if Gradkowski isn’t available.
We’d be better with a backfield of Bush, Dmac, Fargas and no designated QB. Both Bush & DMac are supposed to be able to pass. Let’s try it – a beter solution than the GREAT WHALE.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
Russel’s family fattened him up when he was a kid with corn and red meat. They fattened him up so he could chuck a pig skin 80 yards no problem. Then they conned a senile old man into thinking he was a professional.
I look at Russel as nothing more then a con artist. Davis is a fool. Cable is whatever…

SnB’s formula for success:
1. Fire Tom Cable – make Hackett interim head coach
2. Cut Russell immediately…meaning tonight
3. Place DHB on the practice squad
4. Release Cornell Green
5. Bench Fargas and DMAC…make Bush the FULL-TIME STARTER
December 13th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
17-13 in the 4th qtr….isn’t that a good time to pound the ball up the middle with Bush & Fargas, and swing McFadden around the ends?
Certainly sounds better to me than having THE qb drop back and showcase his talents.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
DMAC had some good plays today, not a bust yet. But not putting Bush in!?! Cable, use your players. Get them involved you idiot.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Russell had more people fooled, and still does, than just the old man.he also had Kiper and the other so called experts fooled.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Mario Henderson had his worse game as a Raider today. He was getting beat all day, and got our QB knocked out of the game by getting beat and the adding insult to injury by falling on his knee.
14 penalties ?????
Cornell Green was back to his old self today.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
I think Bush is just in Cable’s dog house.

Why did Davis draft the kid? He’s was slothfull during the combine.
Why did Davis force Cable to play the bum?
See, I agree with those who keep the attention on Davis.
Because that incompetent owner is the root cause of all this mess.
and guess what? THe gutless Raiders won’t have courage to CUT the deadweight on this team…which is plenty!
December 13th, 2009 at 4:43 pm

December 13th, 2009 at 4:50 pm
Like Charles Davis said on the broadcast, you would think that there would be some support for a come back try. Russell gets booed for coming out and leading the team to a score? That was ridiculous! Comes out on the second drive and leads the team to the 28 yard line, then Henderson gets beat really bad by Orakpo and gives up a sack. The how many penalties in a row did we get to push us out of FG range? Instead of it being 17-16 at a minimum, we punt the ball and go down 24-13.
Totally ridiculous to put this loss on #2.
Cable is on the radio now BLASTING his Oline play.

You are a moron who lacks any brains, JR lost the respect of his teamates. 6 sacks, Int, he killed his WRs, he throws the ball either high or short, what eyes do you have, why are you defending JR, have you been partying with him or maybe you did some nasty things with him, you r fking queer to blame the line when all of us know that the whole offense hates JR.

the game wasn’t a blowout while Gradkowski was playing.it wasn’t a blowout until Russell threw the int. and they took it in to score.russell is totally responsible for the lopsided final score.we might have still lost, but the large margin was due to the incompetence of the person playing QB.Gradkowski was sacked 2 times-Russell 6 times.he is totally clueless on the field(off it too, probably).

He needs to grow up a lot faster, and he needs to work harder. He is not in college, so he can’t just depend on his talent. This is the NFL!!

THe Raiders have no running game.

The Raiders have the worst QB in sports history on the roster….and I mean at any level of sport
Get a REAL QB
Get a real running back
Get a real offensive line
and get a real coach.

Jhill, you can support him and make all the excuses you want for the guy,but it is obvious he is not an NFL QB.as you loved to say over and over,Gradkowski isn’t a great QB.but it has been shown the last 4 weeks that he is much better than Russell.so that must mean Russell isn’t as good as what you call a below avg. QB.yet when he preforms like dog sh!t,some like to point out all the other problems.no wonder the guy thinks he is doing a good job-he has people around him telling him it isn’t him,but everything else around him.

Take it out on whoever you want to, but you KNOW AL DAVIS is going to ride this guy to the end of his contract.
Might as well focus on some realistic stuff like replacing Green, Carlisle, and Morris in the starting lineup.
Where are all the radio quoters from the past few weeks? They JUST said that our Oline is NOT good enough to pass protect when the other team knows we are going to pass. Are they protecting Russell too?

Mrs. Leave it up to you to act teh dummy again.
Jhill, bro, JR was awful today. Forget the sacks. When he had time, he threw late over the middle to Chilens for an int. Even the announcer said you dont throw late over the middle. What you saw out there was 1 QB moving his team for 10 points in the first half. The other QB couldnt even move his team. His dumpoffs and checkdowns were high or in the ground. He got his crew killed out there today. today put the final nail in the coffin for all the argument for JR. he just doesnt have pocket pressence.
December 13th, 2009 at 5:09 pm

DMAC is a wide receiver
Bush should be starting

Specifically WHAT TALENT are you talking about? He can throw a long inaccurate ball when not pressured. Beyond that I’m unable to come up with ANY talent he might have. He can’t learn the entire playbook. He’s not mobile and can’t escape a rush. He has NO pocket presence. He loses the ball when hit more often than not. He throws bad passes that put our receivers in jeopardy of injury. He can’t complete a viewing of all available receivers. He’s slow in getting back anbd slow moving back into the pocket. He has absolutely no leadership on the field.
PLEASE TELL US ALL about these talents you know about that afe NOT obvious. The only thing I’m sure he’s qualified to do is eat cheesburgers. This guy is a black cloud over this team. He needs to go back down South and pen a burger ranchise. There he may succeed.
December 13th, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Jhill,
Why do you think Russell will be here next year? he is scheduled to earn about 9-10 mil if we keep him. If we cut him it is a 3 mil loss. The only reason JR will stay with us is if he agreed to take a paycut. He will want out of here asap. However, he may realize that other teams will not pay him anything over league min. Therefore the only way he stays is redoing his contract due to no other chance of playing again. Or else he just forces the Raiders to cut him, take his $3mil and retire.
December 13th, 2009 at 5:13 pm
It wasn’t a blowout when Bruce was playing…
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a blowout. Good teams have guys who can come in and get the job done. All 3 of our quarterbacks suck. That’s why they’re here to begin with. Gradkowski is not the answer. He’s a little bit better than Russell but not nearly as good as some of you think he is.
December 13th, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Lefty,
Let me ask you one question.
Why is anytime I talk about another area of the team, it turns out to be an excuse for Russell?
Are you disagreeing with me that the Oline play today was terrible? Even in the first half when we were LOSING 17-10?
Did you not see the play that got our QB knocked out of the game?
I said we lost the game when the Redskins made the adjustment to McFadden. Grads was playing then. Why are you talking to me about Russell?
I’d prefer to talk about the Oline, is that ok?

SnB,
I am well aware of Crazy Al. I am prob one of the few guys on here that understands that fcker and his tendencies. However, i dont see Al paying JR 9 mil at this rate. As much as Al committed to JR, there is no way cheapskate Al will pay him $9mil, esp in an uncapped year. The league is going to allow the owners to clean house in regards to the cap next year. Take that one to the bank. JR will prob end up redoing his contract cuz he doesnt ahve a choice other than retiring. Do you see any other teams in the league paying him more than the league min after this year’s performance and reputaton?
December 13th, 2009 at 5:22 pm
10 million base pay plus 5 million roster bonus. JaMonkie is gonna get 15 million to have a completion percentage under 40 a QB rating under 20 & 2 TD passes. I honestly believe you can find some guy at junior college who would play for $5 an hour and do better than JaMonkie. Throw in anther 10 million to DHB and probably the worst pro sports moves in history. Way to go Big Al. JUST DIE BABY. Maybe we can ask Bernie Madoff to be GM from the joint.

The Oakland Raider Revival Plan:
1. Fire Tom Cable – Hackett to interim coach
2. Hire a downfield powerblocking head coach
3. Cut JaMarcus Russell tonight
4. Start Michael Bush full-time
5. Restructure or cut DMAC, Huff, Kelly, Gallery
6. Cut DHB
7. Cut Carlisle, Green, Warren in the offseason
8. Draft: DT, RT, RG, LG, LB
9. Trade Nnamdi Asomugha for more picks (this is a long-term rebuild in Oakland)
9. Bring in vet QBs for open competition with Gradkowski (Losman, Bulger, Rosenfelds, others???)
10. Sign a FB and bring in a nickle back / KR

I would love to hear what JaMonkie has to say about the INT. Chaz was open, but because he decision making is so slow that by the time he did throw Chaz was covered. Is JaMonkie gonna blame Chaz for that too? JaMonkie is a cancer that needs to be terminated. Bad attitude, Bad work ethic, no heart whatsoever and throws teammates under the bus. What a great guy.

I’m still waiting for you to tell me where I supported Russell OVER GRADS, Raiders4eve !!!!!
I have a problem with the fans booing OUR TEAM while we are trying to come back and WIN back to back games. Not quite sure what type of fan you are, but we were down 17-10, SCORED a fg, and the team here’s booos ???
The team comes right back down after the defense steps up and the TEAM gets down the 28 yd line to get boooed again?
DAMN DUDE! You guys talk about the team quitting, well the fans quit first! Where the fugg is the home field advantage? That’s some dumb ass shyt to me, and it has NOTHING to do with Russell. The game was NOT over but our home field advantage surely was!
And did our Oline play bad and get our #1 qb knocked out of the game, or what?
December 13th, 2009 at 5:29 pm

Statement was made, alright. By Washington. And that is that the Raiders suck no matter who’s starting quarterback, and that will remain the case until Al is dead.

Since you guys want to give Gradkowski props for one half of football, let’s add some facts to that. Score at half time was 17-10, which means that Gradkowski was on pace to lose 34-20. You guys want to play this hairsplitting game. Let’s go full circle. 34-20 for all intents and purposes is a blowout, especially considering that our final TD would have been junk that Washington gave to us. Gradkowski sucks. Get over it.

December 13th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
Before Gradowski’s injury the past three weeks were a huge improvement.
The brought energy and heart to the team and they responded.
There’s no telling if Bruce is the quarterback we need but we’ll get some idea of that when he comes back and plays the next three weeks.

We were LOSING when Grads went out, and had ZERO momentum.
Why are we even talking about Russell. It is clear as day that this team needs a mobile QB behind this Oline.
Why do you KEEP talking about Russell? We all know what it is. He is what he is, and Al Davis fired a coach over him, JUST LAST OFFSEASON!

Al Davis made the BUST QB 2nd string instead of on the practice squad
Davis sucked the life out of this franchise with 7 years of stupid decision making
December 13th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Personally I am done supporting Al. I will never again buy a ticket or any Raider gear again unless he is willing to make serious changes. The first change is to cut this lazy, brainless, fat pig JaMonkie. I then want him to hire a true GM who knows how to draft as well as acquire free agents. If Al pays JaMonkie to be the starter or even compete for a stating job I am done until Al is six feet under. He has taken the finest organization in pro sports and turned it into the biggest laughing stock. Having JaMonkie at QB just proves that Al has completely lost it. If I could I would hire Martin Sheen to take a trip up river and terminate him with extreme prejudice. Al please JUST PHUCKIN DIE ALREADY!!!!

December 13th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Sign Gradkowski to a new contract. Draft a QB early in the draft – hey, the Bengals had Akili Smith, then got it right with Carson Palmer. Let’s hope we have a similar situation. We need OL help and Defensive help everywhere. We need an offensive coordinator. Cable MAY be gone, but then again, who will come here that is any better?
The officiating absolutely SUCKED in the first half (haven’t watched the DVR of the second half yet). Murphy continues to get robbed on calls. Clearly he had his hand under the ball AND control AND it was called a catch on the field, AND the Raiders ran another pla before review. Absolute HORSECRAP by the refs. And the halo rule on the punt SUCKED plus the extra flag – double jeopardy. The refs should lose their sacks for not letting the teams play. They played TOO much into the outcome both ways. I know that Jerry doesn’t buy into it, but it was too obvious that the refs wanted to be seen and heard in this game, and be part of the outcome. Even Jerry should be able to see it. Most times, the lack of calls are the best calls. It leaves the game in the hands of the players…
December 13th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
does it matter if the raiders were losing when grad was in still? it was the end of the half theres 4 quarters in football.. if we only played 2 quarters then we would lost to the steelers n bengles.. it doesnt matter what the halftime scroe is or if you are traling a game.. the end result is what matters and dispite if hes not the greatest quarterback in the first half let alone the nfl he provided what quarterbacks are required to give in this league and thats a W. whos to say he wouldnt have drove the raiders in the 3rd and 4th if the game had remained close. The D knows that with JR in point are going to come at a minimum no matter how much the team tries. If the team goes down 10 with bruce in the mindset is “ok well we need to score lets go baby” with Russ in and we go down ten the mindset is “game over”

Russell losing the fans is what sucks the life out of the team, man. You guys that have been at stadiums KNOW what a home field advantage means. WE lost it as soon as Russell stepped on the field. The fans started booing Russell, but they HAVE to realize that THAT is what sucks all the life out of the team.
How does booing the team when we are only down 4 pts help? Did you really hear all that booing on the 2nd drive?
How does that help the players?
That’s just AWFUL!
Al has to do something about this because we certainly can’t win with empty stadiums and the home fans booing our team!

I have never seen one player have such a negative effect to the team. You could see the energy in the team in second half was gone. They were no longer trying.
Also interesting watching JR’s interaction with his team mates on the field. During TV time outs he stands 10 feet away from the huddle. Not sure if this is so he can hear his headset in the helmet but it really had the look of he didn’t feel like he fit in.

It’s just a rock bottom situation right now man.
The fans won’t even root for our team or go to the games.
They concede the Oline is awful, we need an OC, and more than 1 LB, and of course, a QB.
It’s going to be really bad to see this team take the field for the rest of the season with Russell at QB. The booing is going to start as soon as the gates open. That’s no way for a team to play.

December 13th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Gradkowski is tough for hanging in there with 2 MCL sprains.
He obviously makes our team better.
JaMarcus obviously makes our team worse.
We should start Charlie Frye next week he is a smart guy that can manage the game like Bruce.
Our O-line is good enough to win games, but not good enough to take the team to the next level.
If you hate on Fargas you don’t know football he is the best runner we have.
Darren actually looked good today both running and receiving when the O-line did their job.
Its impossible to know if Tom Cable is a bad coach because our head coach is simply a motivator since Al does everything.
Hopefully we win some more games so we get in the teens in the draft so atleast we dont have to pay the dumb pick 23583232453453 dollars
December 13th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
i asked earlier-even though our Oline isn’t great, why are they so much better for 1 QB than the other?
December 13th, 2009 at 6:10 pm
JHill,
Rock bottom is about it.
What’s lost in all this nonsense is that the defense gave up a ton of points and a ton of yards.
The O-Line got manhandled all game…hence Gradkowski got hurt
Still giving up big plays on the defense.
This offseason, the Raiders really have to start pairing back the payroll. Highest cap number in the league.
Gotta start making cuts and redeploying those savings into talented football players.
December 13th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Miller talking about the pass rush today. Talked about how many times Grads got hit today whick knocked him out of the game. Grads didn’t take as many sacks but those hits add up, man.

I don’t know that they were, Lefty. I know you’re listening to Miller on the raido right now. He just talked about how Grads was getting hit and ultimately got him knocked out of the game.
Grads does a better job of getting ball out of there and taking some chances right before he takes a hit. But he is STILL taking hits. The Oline needs to be improved even with Grads in there. Please stop trying to turn this into a Russell thing.

Lefty, Lane Kiffin told Al Davis not to draft the bum.
But Davis got captivated on combine throws and measurables.
Davis is no longer qualified to evaluate QBs. he hasn’t drafted a good QB in over 30 years.
The Raiders should have let the kid hold out. Davis should have listened to kiffin!

As lousy a pick as Russell turned out to be a lot of people had him projected at No. 1 overall.
Even after that the Raiders drafted Murphy, Shaughnessy, Myers, even Mitchell who might turn out not as bad.
December 13th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
What’s lost in all this nonsense is that the defense gave up a ton of points and a ton of yards.
The O-Line got manhandled all game…hence Gradkowski got hurt
——————————————————-
Exactly SnB!
I was wrong about the defense earlier this week. I really thought they were turning the corner. But how “Raider” were those 3 offsides penalties in a row?
DAMN IT!
December 13th, 2009 at 6:18 pm
Siver lining in the Bruce Gradkowski injury is that he will most likely be resigned. He won’t have a chance to “blow up” and get away from us.
December 13th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Jhill,
Tom Cable doesn’t know how to get a team ready to play football. He has to go as head coach.
The penalties are a result of a lack of attention to detail.
The defense has the same problems all year…although they are getting more pressure on the QB…which is a good thing.
The Raider defense is missing a good linebacker and a good DT. They are weak up the middle
December 13th, 2009 at 6:20 pm
What the crud is Cable thinking bringing in the slob? What would have been wrong with Frye or even McFadden in the wildcat or punting on first down, even. Anything but jaCarcass. This was THE worst officiating of a Raider game in recent memory. Bar none. How is the footing our fault???? The most disapointment I have experienced this season. We were in this until jaCarcass entered the fray and gift-wrapped their victory. It’s lucky they tried to pick it up and run with it at the goal line or it would have been even worse. You could see the slumping shoulders when Russell came in. Nice pocket presence. Do you need any more proof of his ineptitude, Al. Cut him NOW.

I am not completely sold on Gradkowski. So they will now have to bring in some credible competition because there is not enough tape on Gradkowski.
A couple of good halves doesn’t make a starter. Gradkowski earned the right to be in the discussion…but he has not earned the right to be the undisputed starter.
The Raiders should be looking hard for a QB in the offseason
December 13th, 2009 at 6:22 pm
Like Miller just said …
This is NOT an offense that can play from behind. They HAVE to be able to run the ball. Once the defense gets to just pin it’s ears back and rush, we basically don’t have a chance.
We HAVE to upgrade our Oline! Charlie is 100% correct!
December 13th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
Jhill, you make my point.it is about Russell.he makes the people around him worse, while Gradkowski makes those around him better,or at least look better.one guy gets sacked 6 times, the other 2 times.are you saying you don’t see any difference in that?the line could be much better, but they aren’t as bad as they look when Russell plays either.
Jhill, you keep saying you don’t care about Russell, and while you may not, everyone on here thinks you do due to your comments.perhaps people wouldn’t get that impression if when everyone was pointing out how terrible Russell is you wouldn’t come in and talk of the ineptness of the WRS or the Oline.it really seems as if you are just making excuses for the terrible play of the QB.
December 13th, 2009 at 6:25 pm
Russell seems unable to learn period! Paul Hackett must be cursing his luck for getting this rube. I tell you if a half-decent qb were to be drafted from any program and gets Hackett as a coach he’d beat Russell for the starter job in a heartbeat!

Careful, SnB! If your not for Grads, you MUST be for Russell, lol!
At this point, I think we need to worry about upgrading the Oline and the OC. For EVERYONE, especially the players, to know that your offense has no chance if it gets down is very telling. They KNOW that they can’t pass protect if they are down?
We can’t even get Miller in the pass routes because he has to stay in and block. He just said he stays in to block about 40% of the time.

I know the players were dissappointed when JaCarcus came in because I was. I may not play but I am part of this thing. Iagree with that earlier post that JPuke won’t restructure and he will get the heave ho. His time in Oakland is done that was cemented today. I bet Frye starts next week if Grads can’t go.
December 13th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
Lefty,
I see your point, but I’m not going to pile on just because everyone else is. Do you agree with booing your team in a 4 pt game? CMON!
We were down 17-10 at halftime with the QB hits adding up to Bruce being knocked out of the game.
I really don’t see why I can’t come in here and talk about that! No matter WHAT I say, a few, NOT ALL, of you start in with the same ole stuff.
I said I thought the game was over when the Redskin adjusted to McFadden. Grads was in when that happened. Grads should have been going to the slot WR or whoever the LB or S was covering. The play was working because of a mismatch of a RB against a S. There was ZERO adjustment by Cable on that.
Because I point to other areas where I thought the game was lost doesn’t mean I support Russell. CMON!
December 13th, 2009 at 6:34 pm
Jhill,
I am definitely not for Russell. But I also recognize that even with that bust in the game, there is no reason a team should get blown out at home against a 3-9 team.
The team has holes all over the place as a result of neglecting key positions on the O-Line, D-Line and Linebacking corps.
Plus, the Raiders don’t have a running game. Fargas is a nice guy and all…but there is no real time production out of the running game. At the end of the day, RBs need to get yards….Fargas doesn’t do this.
Bush is the only back on this team to have 100 yard games the last two years…..Fargas is a role player and nothing more. DMAC is a disappointment as a ball carrier.
Fire Cable and hope the new coach will use Bush and DMAC correctly

When did I say there was no difference? How many hits did Grads take today? Did he get knocked out of the game?
The Oline played bad today, like your coach told you they did. Why are you trying to make so many excuses for the Oline? We couldn’t run the ball with Grads in there and they got our starting QB killed today.

the booing wasn’t directed at the team-it was directed at Russell and Davis for forcing Russell on the fans.the last few weeks i’ve seen the coaches make good halftime adjustments.to me,you could see the letdown from the players when Russell entered the game.as Essiason said early in the year,Russell is an anchor around the teams neck.i hate to put it on one guy,but imo,the last 3 1/2 weeks have proven it.the team preforms and looks like an NFL team when he isn’t in the game.there is no doubt we have many other problems, but unless we improve the QB position none of those matter.
December 13th, 2009 at 6:41 pm
Jhill,
I think we are on the same page…with some minor disagreements on approach to fix this mess.
A lot of Raider fans think that we are just a QB away from a good team. They ignore the defense still getting gashed, the lack of a real running game, the special teams problems and a head coach that can’t get his team ready to play week in and week out.
31st against the run….that’s unacceptable
O-Line is horrible. You can make the argument that we have to replace every position on the line with the exception of Henderson.
When Gallery gets back from that back surgery, broken leg and all other problems…I have a feeling he is going to look REALLY OLD next year.
99 problems
December 13th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
the REAL problem with this team(besides al davis) that most people fail to see is BOTH the line units. despite big name on each line, both are pretty inconsistent. our defense is still ranked 30th in the league against the run even with el savior seymore. any offensive line that features cornell green(CORNELL GREEN!!) as a starter is bound to suck, and they do.
if big al had a shred of rationality left(he doesn’t) he’d use the upcoming draft and off-season to bolster both O and D-lines. he won’t though. at least we’ll get the fastest guy at the combine though!!! those guys are “great playahs”
christmas dreams that will NEVER come true:
al hires a GM
al hires a real DC and stays out of the way
al uses top 10 pick on an LT
uses 2nd round pick on a center
jamarcus russell is cut, and his name is never mentioned again.

S&B you are soooooooo wrong about the Dline.they are the strong point of our Def. and they are pretty young, except for Ellis.our LBs on the other hand are another story and are usually responsible for the big plays that cost us game after game.
December 13th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Jruss is the most obvious symptom of a bigger problem: Al. he deserves the boos for his body of work. But he also gets the boos because he is the personification on the field of the 80 year old “rather be right than consistent” running the team. There are tons of issues that need to be addressed, but many of them are the direct result of AL doing what al does. Unfortunately for us, that is running his team into the ground. The more he looses, the more he tightens his grip (Cable is the head coach). The more he tightens his grip, the more our issues multiply and the further we slip from respectability.

They need help up the middle. Kelly/Warren are serviceable at best. THey are also paid way too much for what they do.
They need help at the MLB position for sure.
But the DTs are still bad and the MLB doesn’t make plays at the line of scrimmage

it’s pretty hard to determine our strength defensively when we run a scheme that is outdated by at least 20 years. we have great players on defense, however, they play in a system that is destined to fail. the year is 2009. it is IMPOSSIBLE to play man-to-man 90% of the time. it worked in the 70s when the raiders had the better athletes AND a rule book that allowed for the mugging of receivers. players, coaches, schemes, the way the game is played has changed and Al and the raiders have not. keep doin wht you’re doin, keep gettin what you’re gettin.

i finally registered to post on this site after reading since the off-season. unfortunately it was after this particular game and im a tad drunk, but i need to vent.
disclaimer:
i am and ALWAYS will be a raiders fan. i even got a raiders shield tat on my arm when i visited oakland on a business trip an hour before the raiders@niners preseason game this season, in fact -and im from alaska! im proud of being part of the nation despite the unfortunate sh*t that i get from people that dont know anything about football before the past few seasons. so i dont need anyone getting on my sh*t for not being a true fan.
for the blind jruss defenders and those endlessly parroting ‘racism’:
i would be 100% behind jruss if the guy could help us win games. he cant, not right now at least. i dont know why he would make such outrageous claims of improvement he has made after 3-4 weeks of sitting on the bench, but he did, and he couldnt back them up. he should have been pulled and frye sent in for the last few series’ of this game. the radiocast and freaking local SAN DIEGO sports commentary were dejected and pissed off by jruss performance. greg papa, the man i am afraid will die from a brain aneurysm every time the raiders make a TD, didnt even give a sh*t the last quarter and a half. neither did i.
for everyone else:
i wouldnt call the O-line garbage, but it is obvious that they are different when jruss is out there. gradkowski gets sacked twice in a half, and jruss gets one in nearly every series. maybe our O-line isnt good enough to protect a rooted QB. if thats true, then we either need to fix our O-line or our rooted QB. which is quicker and easier? (the answer is QB, as grad’s production has shown us).
i dont want to give up on jruss -i mean look how much gannon moved around before settling in oakland and taking us as far as he did. the kid is young and obviously extremely naive. he can learn, but he needs more than a 4-week benching to do it. he needs to SIT and LEARN until he can PROVE beyond a shadow of a doubt that he HAS learned. he should be considered an project-QB and not be allowed to be on the field until he has met some arbitrary conditions. if he wont take a pay cut while he does that, then he needs to be let go. i wonder who will pay him big bucks after seeing this season.
as a side note: why is it that sh*t olbermann smashes the raiders every chance he gets EXCEPT THIS TIME?? counting the sacks is lightweight compared to the crap he would pull on us when we win. i hate that guy.

The DTs don’t take up space. They don’t eat blockers. They are okay at rushing the passer and such…but they aren’t the guys that can clog the middle.
As for salary, I am hating on the salary. The Raiders pay too many players ridiculous salaries for middling performance. Gotta start getting salaries in line with performance.

I was advocating this last year when it wasn’t popular but we should have traded Nnamdi when his stock was at an all-time high. We could have easily gotten a 1st and a player. Whats the point of having him? Shut-down corners are great on a good team. It doesn’t matter when your team sucks. Now, his stock has taken a little bit of a hit and it might be harder to move him. Classic Al mistake. Made the same mistake by picking up Seymour. Always thinks his team has a chance to compete and is only a player or two away.

I have a feeling Al, when going through JR’s contract with a fine “5 tooth” comb, wishes he added in “must come into camp in shape, and stay in shape”.
Now Al wishes he can void the contract, but he can’t.
And the dumbest rock on the planet has to be JR with his “that’s not even something I’m going to consider”, regarding his contract.
Nope..he’s going to take what’s owed him, and what’s very VERY OBVIOUS, is he’ll be quite happy dropping out of football, while spending the rest of his life over a bbq pit.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
SnB,
Cable did try and run the ball with Russell in, at first. But he just couldn’t help himself on a few plays.
On the first 2 drives that Russell was in, the team moved the ball down to the 28 yd line. BOTH TIMES, 1st and 10 from the 28, Cable calls pass plays that Henderson gets beat on for big sacks. BOTH TIMES.
Those 2 play calls were HUGE! Cable should have stuck with the run and short passing game to Miller and Murphy. Tried to go deep with Russell and a 7 step drop on 1st and 10, and WHAM!
We all saw it was Grads mobility that allowed him to work behind that Oline. Why Cable wouldn’t just pound the rock and take the screens and TE passes from that position on the field is beyond me. Don’t put the team in a position to fail!

December 13th, 2009 at 7:21 pm
We’re beating a dead horse here gentlemen. There are too many fix-its to happen overnight. No doubt we need a coach/qb relationship and build around that. Sad to say, if Cable goes, we go back in time even more. In Cables’ defense, he’s got more fire than the last 7 years worth, but he needs to make changes too. That was his o-line out there today. So lets start there. Get a good OC and a play caller, coach the o-line and manage game day. Cable needs some help. Three weeks of mediocre glimmer spoke alot as to where some consistency could get us.
Coming from such a wretched last seven years, there was a spark of hope. Maybe today the beating was so painful, Davis will see the need for a mobile/wco type qb. He plunked down 60 mil on the table and lost. If he thinks he can recoup that, he’s wrong.
Pick a smart combo: coach/qb. Build around that. Look at the winners. Your way is losing.
You just can’t throw a strong arm in todays game and expect results. Doesn’t happen. Way too many components. Everything thing has always been a gamble with Al. He’s won big and he’s lost big. But there are other ways to win. Put a well thought of coach/qb combo out there. Build wisely around that. Al wanted to build around JR and Dmac and DHB. Didn’t work and probably won’t ever. Need a coach first and foremost.
Your victorious teams had well seasoned vets, good picks and decent coaches for the most part. And they knew the game. They were smart and they were hungry. Al, the plan is simple.

Booing is part of sports. It’s stating “HEY, THAT’S UNACCEPTABLE”..this isn’t the opera, where you politely clap regardless, it’s measured in win’s and losses, or at least giving 100%.
What I would be is that every player who hears it silently says “Good..I agree. Get your s**t together, JR”.
As far as the game being over when fans boo?
Huh??
They’re booing, in this case, the player. It’s designed to KICK THEM IN THE ASS..it’s a verbal ‘LET’S GO, DAMNIT”.
Any player who quits after being booed should quit, period.

Kelly and Warren need to restructure or go home. I just don’t see it like some people here do with Kelly. He has NEVER made a play that made me sit back and say wow. Last week watching the Packers game, I saw Raji (who I was against drafting because he would probably eat his way out of the league on the Raiders) make a play where he just drove the guard back into the backfield and completely disrupted the running play. I haven’t seen Kelly do that once. Plus, he might be the dumbest player we have on defense with the continual offsides plays. Warren is decent but he’s not worth 6 mil per year. Hopefully, we can get him for like 2 mil per year.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:23 pm
I was advocating this last year when it wasn’t popular but we should have traded Nnamdi when his stock was at an all-time high. We could have easily gotten a 1st and a player. Whats the point of having him? Shut-down corners are great on a good team. It doesn’t matter when your team sucks. Now, his stock has taken a little bit of a hit and it might be harder to move him. Classic Al mistake. Made the same mistake by picking up Seymour. Always thinks his team has a chance to compete and is only a player or two away.
—-
we could end up with another fargas on our hands. a guy who is a die-hard Raider. asomugha is obviously a guy that values and espouses loyalty and leadership, we dont need to get rid of a player that has those qualities as well as especially-high ability. no sense in getting rid of exceptional players for other exceptional players, especially if the team has more to benefit from them than simply from their ability.
aso is a class-act, treating him like a pawn in a chess game is doing him a disservice.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
that is no catch if you are wearing silver and black!
December 13th, 2009 at 7:26 pm
the other players MUST know that it is directed at jruss.
i know it isnt helping anything, but if you paid for a ticket and wasted your afternoon at this game, you deserve to boo when jruss goes out there and destroys your enjoyment.
sh*t, for the people who bothered to show up, they especially deserve that right.
——————————————————-
I understand that too ….
I think my issue is that we were still in the game, and came off a scoring drive and there is booing.
Really????
Can we at least wait until the guy makes a bad play or 2? That first sack was clearly on Henderson. Orakpo beat him like a drum. Other than that, the team was moved the ball to the 28yd line and Russell completed passes to Miller and Higgin. Henderson gets beat, Cable calls a bad reverse on 2nd and 19, and DMac drops the next pass that would have at least made it a much easier FG.
There was no need for booing after that series.
Defense gets the ball right back and the offense hears boos while coming on the field. RIDICULOUS!
December 13th, 2009 at 7:27 pm
I love Captain Kirk but he’s just average. I would try to keep him around for a low salary and draft a LB in the draft to bring some serious competition. Howard should stay for the long haul. Not great against the run but consistently makes plays game to game and plays with fire. Gotta like that.
Huff: See ya later. Welcome to the Branch, Mitchell, Eugene era.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
Booing is part of sports. It’s stating “HEY, THAT’S UNACCEPTABLE”..this isn’t the opera, where you politely clap regardless, it’s measured in win’s and losses, or at least giving 100%.
What I would be is that every player who hears it silently says “Good..I agree. Get your s**t together, JR”.
——————————————————-
Of course it is. But my goodness you would think that there would be a bit of balance. The kid is terrible, but he wasn’t losing the game AT THAT POINT. He just led the team to a scoring drive. The defense got the ball back, and the offense has to take the field to boos?
I understand all the Russell stuff but I just don’t get rooting for your team to lose. Can we lose before the boos come out?
December 13th, 2009 at 7:30 pm

You think trading him to a contender would be a disservice?? I think he would be ecstatic. The only reason he didn’t gripe about staying here was due to the astronomical contract he signed. I know he’s a good guy. But I can guarantee that we would love to play for a contender and get some real exposure that goes with it.

why would you want to trade Nnamdi?for more draft choices?you guys hate the way we draft.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
I don’t think we should try and trade Russell. We need to make him 3rd string and ride out his contract. Why should we REWARD him by letting off the hook and going to another team? He needs to serve out his sentence a take the next 3 years of bashing from the fans. Let him sit on the sidelines and catch the rath of the fans.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
I hope Al got a good look at the QB who took a beating today but stood tall and led his team to the win.
Jason Campbell will be a FA in 2010.
Go sign him Al.

i agree with that. boo those who deserve it. i was very happy with the defense, considering the offense jruss was mustering. the whole season the D has been doing well and then dropping off when they realized there was no point to their effort (i would say this was subconscious and not a overt decision to give up) and dropped off.
i think everyone is out there doing their best. the problem is that some bests are not NFL-calibre, and that affects everyone else.
i think the D did the best they could before a sense of hopelessness overtook them. when your offense is not only ineffective, but working against you, it takes a lot more than most people have to overcome that. i dont blame them for that. a paycheck cant override the psychological effect of your own fans booing you while you try to make up for your own offense.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
More draft choices and a lineman in exchange. Why not?? Has Nnamdi helped us win any more games this year?? I think he may be overrated at this point. Sell high, buy low.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
not at $10 million a year, even though to be honest, since it isn’t my money i don’t care about salaries.as long as we can sign whomever we want,we shouldn’t worry about what a guy is being paid.if we don’t play them someone else will.

======================================
Doesn’t sound too bright? LMFAO…that’s an understatement, if I ever heard one.
I hear the host say ‘Here’s priest from Fremont’..I expected someone, because of comments on here from others, to come on with an astute take, passionate, and precise..instead PRIEST SOUNDS LIKE A FREAKING MORON..
I use to wonder why he spelled like an illiterate..thought maybe he was just typing quickly…BUT NO..THE GUYS TRULY DENSE.
I SWEAR TO GOD priest talking makes JR’s speech sound clear and precise. Priest sounds like a ghetto hick, all slurring his words, bumbling over his comments. It’s like a drunk would sound, with a mouth full of marbles, except priest wasn’t drunk.
And the funniest part was the hosts making it clear they knew about priests idiot calls each week, and cut him off mid sentence, not even letting him finish his “I WATCH JR..HE GOOD. I SEEN HIM PWAY. EVERBODY GIVE UP ON HIM, BUT I KNOW HOW TO PLAY”, saying “yeah yeah, priest, we got it” and disconnected his dumbass.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
and then when we are giving up huge passing plays you will complain we need a CB.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
No I wont. Not as long as we still generally suck as a team. If we were a player or two away, then yeah. We’re clearly not.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:46 pm
I love the fact that none of you guys think about defensive adjustments when Russell came in.
Defensive Ends can’t pin their ears back with a mobile QB due to leaving a running lane if they get pushed behind the play.
With Russell in those guys were not afraid of Russell beating them with his legs.
IT CHANGES THE PASS RUSH SCHEMES
No way the Skins play that way if Gradkowski stays in.
Game was 10-10 before the Special Teams Coach keyed a late half TD to put the Skins up 17-10.
Game could have been very different with Gradkowski healthy.
December 13th, 2009 at 7:46 pm
By the way, aren’t we giving up huge passing plays as it is??
December 13th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
Re: Booing.
Players know in most cases, where it’s directed.
How can they not?
JR was booed the moment he jogged to the huddle to start the second half. It’s the fans way of saying ‘OH NO..ANYBODY BUT YOU’.
And yeah, the fans waited for ANYTHING that resembled the JR of recent to let him know they again are saying “OH NO”.
You could almost see the resigned look on the players faces..and as the sacks mounted, you just saw the team look depressed, and defeated, almost resigning themselves to the inevitable.
Now, it’s not just the fans who saw it..Papa saw it..Flores saw it..on the postgame show, the host saw it..Artie saw it.
If Grad is out for the season, just write down 4-12

it serves us as much as it serves him being here. we have one CB that isnt a problem. at this point i think shutting down the X receiver and his leadership and POISE is worth whatever we are paying him. imagine if we didnt have the leaders we did on D, we could be looking at a much worse situation than we are now.
the guy is worth keeping around, and he knows it. i think he already feels like he is a Raider and he is doing what he can. best to cultivate that than get rid of him for another pick that will be maligned by us monday-morning QBs (or CBs, in this case).

it makes me laugh when people say when Russell enters the game the coaches should call more running plays and not pass so much.is he an NFL or not?or are you saying he is sooooooo bad,we shouldn’t let him throw the ball?

I don’t really disagree with any of that Richochet.
I know in a lot of ways I’m being unrealistic about the booing, but gawd damn man! How is the team supposed to TRY and come back with all that booing? Our home crowd needs to try and give the team some confidence! Does Henderson REALLY know they crowd is booing Russell instead of him after those sacks he gave up early in the 2nd half?

Pretty much. And definitely shouldn’t be calling deep drops and deep patterns. Nothing but dump offs, TEs, and crossing patterns or plays out of the shotgun.
Same stuff Cable called for most of the Pittsburgh game.

i think Cable has a chance if we go 7-9. at least that is an improvement, despite it being a big change of plan. i mean who else is there??
cable seems to have the respect of the team. if he can improve even slightly over last season, i think he will stay. a lot of blame lies on jruss and the receivers dropping the ball, and i dont know how much better we would be (minus the sometimes f*cked-up playcalling) if we had Gruden running the show.
let someone get their heels dug in. we arent going to improve with what we have (and one first-round draft pic -see Murphy for a non-first-round success story) if we keep switching things up. we only get so much each season. we need to work with what we have, and we do have a lot of talent that needs to be nurtured.

December 13th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
I think todays booing was pure frustration. It was a message to Al, and fans were booing at the bs JR has been. Part of me feels sorry for him, but the other side says, hey, you’re in the show now. You’ve been pre-paid, big time. When you signed, surely you knew this comes with the territory.
Message to Al: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
JHill: That would be pretty funny if JaM went before Al and said he would like to be pardoned, you know, released. And Al, the warden says, sorry kid, you’ve got to finish your sentence, three more years. But I will make you 3rd string for good behavior.
December 13th, 2009 at 8:11 pm
Lefty,
You know what you have in 1 QB, and you know what you have in the other.
It’s pretty clear to me that their should be a different set of plays for Russell than Grads. Grads is obviously more mobile than Russell and can buy more time. I would simply NOT run plays that take 4 seconds to develop with Russell in there. He’s going to stare down that 1st read so make it a quick one instead of something deep.
Stop wishing for the leopard to changes his spots. If he’s good at getting the ball to the TE and RBs, then feature that instead of keeping Miller in on Max protect. And Russell completed balls to JLH and Murphy, both on shorter patterns, and both for 1st downs.
I’ll say the same thing for Fyes if he gets the start. He’s not as mobile as Grads and our Oline needs work. Shorter routes man!
December 13th, 2009 at 8:13 pm

December 13th, 2009 at 8:19 pm
Seriously fellas …
All we are talking about is the team having a chance to win when we are down. Even with Grads in. Once again, we were losing getting out played by a team with a worse record than us BEFORE our #1 QB went out.
How do we get to the point where the OTHER team is talking about having a chance to come back. I really don’t see the vision for this offense. It seems pretty vanilla and not capable of consistantly putting up points with out some kind of luck.
And I really thought our defense was making strides but our LBs in the middle of that zone coupled with Branch’s inxperience and Hiram Eugene is prety painful to watch.
DAMN IT!!!!!
December 13th, 2009 at 8:19 pm
the plays are there-the QB just doesn’t see them and holds the ball too long.every game Russell has played,i’ve heard the announcer say at one time or another that the pass was thrown too late.it isn’t that we are calling plays that take too long to develop, its that the QB doesn’t make the decision fast enough to make the plays.

are we really looking to have to styles of offense? what other team caters to two different style of QB??
we need to make a choice and if that choice changes in the future, we need to make the change in an offseason. either way, it needs to be more-or-less permanent. we can be switching in-and-out QBs that require different things from our O-line. Thats a recipe for mediocere…ness?

I wouldn’t say that we are looking to have to types of offense, and I’m in no way talking long term.
Grads is hurt and done for the year. There is no way I would call 7 steps with a deep route as the first read if I were calling plays. For what? It would be nothing but running the ball and PA passes for Russell. 3rd and long would be out of the shotgun and probably moving the pocket to one side of the field by design.
I would do something other than what we ALL know won’t work.

Today’s second half performance by the Raiders have officially put Al Davis on the spot. This offseason he has to choose between JaMarcus Russell and the rest of the team. They clearly went south when Russell came in. Then he gotta figure out what to do with Cable.

Time to look seriously at available veteran FA QB’s. Does Vick fit in here? May be he will. Certainly the WHAlE (i.e. JaBustus) will not be a serious contender for the QB position, assuming he’s even here.
Our next draft absolutely must focus on quality POWER O-linemen & a MLB. Fill all other needs (i.E. D-Line) from FA. We don’t really need any other skilled players. WE NEED MEAN POWERFUL BIG-UGLIES.
AD must have figured out by now that JaBustus is NOT THE MAN he thought he was. AD just needs how to separate himself gracefully. I know, call a press conference with an overhead projector showing a bunch of X’s & O’s showing how the WHALE was insubordinate for not following instructions and eating too many cheesburgers at practice.

is he really done for the year? Al needs to look at things and think:
Do i really want to develop Jruss?
or
Do i really want to abandon (or force to adapt) Jruss?
we have three more games that mean absolutely nothing. spend them on whoever you think will carry the torch.
thats three REGULAR SEASON games you are willing to give up to develop someone. it either needs to be Frye (the un-Jruss) or Jruss, and that needs to be a final decision. he needs to decide what direction this team is going. there is obviously no middle ground.

Did you hear the collective sigh of the 18,000 in attendance–including his teammates–when Jamarcus entered the game? I feel bad for him, but he has no business being out there. Bruce might not be a sure thing, but he really didn’t do anything today that led me to think last week was a total fluke. In fact on several stalled drives he’d actually made the throw but the WR or refs took it away.
December 13th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
Vick is not the solution we need to draft one and learn behind Grad. Vick is inconsistent and makes horible decisions in passing situations. We NEED to address this qb issue with the FIRST pick!

90210:
i think youre right (at least at this point). we could do better, but i think we have a QB that can perform NOW as well as develop into something better over time. i dont think we should spend a first round pick now on a QB (then we would have TWO first round picks in training?). spend it on an O or D-line (maybe someone to shore-up our run D) and spend some resources developing grads or frye (if we ever see Freye again, that is). i think Grads has a lot in him, and he is eager to prove himself. this is a good thing, and i think it should be taken advantage of. either way, all these kids are young (mind that i am only 27 years old), so they have a lot of growing up to do. we could use that to our advantage. if it extends our losing streak to 10 years, would it be worth it to develop our real QB of the decade?
December 13th, 2009 at 9:15 pm
We have decent recievers that play their butts off for a leader, Al should address the o-line in the free agency but we do need to draft a one of these young qb’s. By the way Jake Locker = Andrew Walters IMHO! If we draft a qb let it be someone else rather than this chump!

GOgo,
All I’m saying is that we do need someone in the wing to come in and step up. Grad is a good QB but the nation deserves to have an elite QB and due to his size and lack of arm I think he will get hurt in trying to make some plays because he lacks that arm strength and quick release that premier qb’s have. I like the way Grad carries himself and his leadership abilities but honestly he is not the answer 2 or 3 years down the road.
