No decision on Russell-Frye

With Bruce Gradkowski almost certainly out of Sunday’s game in Denver, coach Tom Cable said during his weekly press briefing he wanted to give the matter of whether to start JaMarcus Russell or Charlie Frye some more in-depth thought.

Expect Cable to make his call, after discussing it with Al Davis, on Wednesday.

Something Cable will have to take into consideration _ tight end Zach Miller sustained a concussion when he was hit near the end of the game by Rocky McIntosh. It was Miller’s second concussion of the season, the first coming Oct. 4 against Houston.

Given the league’s new guidelines on concussions and pressure to play it safe, Miller is no lock to play. Miller has been the only receiver Russell seems to trust. Russell threw nine of his 16 passes Sunday to tight ends.

More to come . . .

    Let’s bring in Keannu Reeves.
If we can’t get a QB, how about someone who played one on TV?

  • jhill

Al: Good work, John. After you check the wire taps, bring JaMarcus in here.

Herrera: Mr. Davis, it’s 3 o’clock, he’s at In N Out for his regularly scheduled “Double Dose of Double-Double.”

Al: Dammit, I thought that was at 1?!

Herrera: Um, yeah, 1 o’clock as well.

Al: Call him, will you? Tell him we have his marijuana cigars and white women waiting.

    Herrera: Yes, Mr. Davis.

    ——————————————————

    LMFAO!

You know you’re soooo wrong for that.

  • jhill

As Davis, Herrera, and Cable walk out the office, they have to step over Gradkowski, who is lying on the floor, still moaning, racked with pain.

    ——————————————————-

Al: pick up that towel and shine my shoes!

O-Line problems: SIMPLE solution, cut Russell, there is no o-line out there that will play hard and protect their QB if the QB has no pocket awareness, can’t read defenses and can’t get pass his first read on who to throw to… Russell is a sitting target, all he sees is his TE since it’s an easy read…

  • Nnamdi21

    From Jerry’s Post Game Wrap:

“The Raiders tied their season high with 14 penalites, and their penalty yardage of 118 was the highest since their 2005 season opener.”

    ===========

Jerry did mention the BS call with Randel El, but left off SEVERAL other calls that were equally if not WORSE non calls by the so called refs.
Oakland did plenty to shoot it self in the foot, but the refs were appauling.

    =================

” there was no sign of the pitch play that gave the Raiders a key first-down last week agianst the Steelers.”

    =====================

Saw it at least twice, once to Fargas.

Translation: “I never saw the game.”

Satele and Morris combined with Carlisle and Green added up to a horrid day for the Raider O. Wasn’t Russell at all.

Satele is a liability plain and simple. Better off with Morris at ceneter but guaranteed, Satele won’t be here next year.

“We knew JaMarcus was a pocket guy,” Orakpo said. “He wasn’t a running threat. So I was able to let loose with all kinds of moves to get to him.”

This comment from OSACKPO, says exactly why Bruce is way ahead of Russell.

Grads presence as QB makes the O-Line look better than it is. When Russell is in there, the O-Line is exposed.

Personally I’m starting to agree on one thing. Russell needs to move on to brighter pastures. This place is way too toxic to groom a young QB you’re way too impatient. You want great auccess right away and that is very improbable. The fans here are not nearly as sophisticated and knowledgable as we used to be. This generatiion of fans are insufferable. Your ignorance is beyond anything I ever imagined.

You can have it,if this is what you’ve become I’m done as a fan wiyth any of you. I’ll still support my team in my own way but as for talking and communicating fools like you guy’s I’m done.

My last comment is I sincerely hope we trade and get Russell somewhere far from here

maybe. still gonna have to do something about Al’s 1983 defensive scheme. playing man 90% of the time is impossible, and it’s showing. there are better athletes playing in the NFL these days and al just doesn’t understand that. you have to give offenses different looks; blitz more often and play some zone. we can’t just line up 11 guys and dare teams to beat us

    how’s that workin anyway???

Watched the game over at the local dive yesterday, with around twenty other Raider fans.

Everyone was into the game and having a good time….

Then, JaMeatloaf started the 3rd. Qtr… What a buzzkill.. We all looked at one another, and said “game over, we’re done.”

You could feel the energy that was there in that place, just go away like someone threw a switch…

  • Sweep The Leg.

You know, it’s not very sophisticated to call someone a bigot, because they think our QB sucks. I’d almost say that’s a “toxic” thing to say.

Race-baiters always call others “ignorant” when they accuse them of being a bigot. I think all your statements are starting to look very transparent.

    Well….goodbye…Priest.

  • 860Todd Christensen

Al Big, saved it, Did anyone besides myself notice the O -line dumped on JR and was hoping that he got hurt, so they didn’t have to play behind him? 6 SACKS?

  • MTraidernation

Al has a GIANT opportunity to restore his relevance and legacy with the uncapped year coming next year. CUT RUSSELL!!! admit the mistake and let him be someone else’s problem. if he succeeds, good for him.

instead of listing the players that should be on the first plane out of town, i’m gonna list the players who have to stay. however, i will list my top 3 players who should get gone and never be spoken of again,

    top 3 go-away-forever players
    1. jamarcus russell
    2. stanford routt
    3. cornell green

    players that must stay
asomugha, murphy, schilins, miller, mcfadden, gallery, howard, seymore, scott, mitchell, johnson, fargas, jlh, gradkowski, morrison, kelly.

that is all. notice there is ONLY one o-lineman worthy of staying. scrap the o-line and start over.

Its not trust…its cuz he is too dumb to read the defense and can only look straight ahead or to the flat for the RB.
