Schuening waived; Vallejo to practice squad
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 at 4:19 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Two days after being promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, the Raiders waived offensive lineman Roy Schuening, according to the transactions page at Raiders.com
Schuening was put on the roster after Robert Gallery went on injured reserve following back surgery.
Once he clears waivers, Schuening could be headed back to the practice squad. Counting the Monday signing of UC Davis tackle Elliot Vallejo, the Raiders have seven members on their practice squad, one under the limit.
Vallejo, 6-foot-7, 315 pounds, spent the 2008 season on the roster of the Arizona Cardinals as a reserve offensive lineman, and was on the Cardinals’ practice squad in 2007. He was undrafted out of Davis, where he started 32 games after transferring from UCLA. In August, Vallejo suffered a fractured kneecap during training camp, was placed on injured reserve and later released with an injury settlement.

Losman to sign with Raiders

J.P. Losman has found his way back into the NFL.
Mike Florio reports that Losman and the Oakland Raiders have agreed to a deal. It’s believed to be a one-year deal. Losman was in Oakland to take a physical with the team.
We’re told the team was heavily influenced by Losman’s play in the UFL and his development under Jim Fassel.
December 15th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
where does it mention Losman
December 15th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Let me know when that worthless bag of sh*t is waived. The guy that wears the #2 jersey.
December 15th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
PFT is saying a one-year deal, so you gotta think he might play the last two games.
Way to go Jamarcus.

I was thinking the same thing! Now I know why he lives in Vegas. I am going to have to visit our friend Vegas and have him place some “wishes” for me
December 15th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
And here comes Fassel. CaptainBlack, I’m with you on Gruden.
December 15th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
Fassel, oh no! I’d rather have Cable instead
December 15th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
The Raiders had Fassel years ago, supposed to be an offensive guru. He did not work out.
December 15th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
The Giant players is was written did not respect Fassel
December 15th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
I watched JP live twice this year.
Throws a perfect spiral 90% of the time and can move a little. Had his WOW moments more so than just about anyone else in the UFL.
Don’t know if he is the leader Bruce is/was. Seems like a prick, but it was the UFL.
With this signing, it seems like the first-step in the transition away from Jamarcus Russell. Big ups to my boy Bruce Gradkowski, for helping Al see the light, with Bruce’s spirited play and will to win. It was what the team needed, and needed to see to see how toxic Jamarcus is. If he leaves this offseason and plays elsewhere, I will be a Bruce Gradkowski fan.
Going to go pour some beer out for #5 right now.

1 Fassel on staff is enough,

i don’t want dad too…

Javier Arenas, DB/KR Alabama
December 15th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Vegas,
Grads has been the best thing about this season.
Whatever happens for him, i’ll be a fan.
Hopefully he’ll be back in Silver and Black…guess he won’t go on IR since we released this lineman…

Zac Miller …#2 almost got him killed dude, hanging that one up in the 4th….that play for me showed how much the other players are sick and tired of #2….what he did to Miller on that play was unforgivable.it was the pass of a coward

“Losman sucked”
33 career tds 34 interceptions – compared to JaMarcus Russell, he’s Peyton Manning.
threw for 3,051 yds and 19 TDs for 84.9 rating. How ridiculous do you sound? Gradkowski didnt even throw for that much.
