Pete’s Draft – 1st Edition
1st Round – Center
Stefen Wisniewski*, Penn State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 298.
Projected 40 Time: 5.13.
We should trade down to pick up an extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd and then take this kid. A real live, smart center with a little bit of a pedigree…
2nd Round – Defensive Tackle
Dan Williams, Tennessee
Height: 6-3. Weight: 327.
Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
2nd Team All SEC – I like big, mean, heavy loads in the middle…
3rd Round (1st pick) – Middle Linebacker
Micah Johnson, Kentucky
Height: 6-2. Weight: 254.
Projected 40 Time: 4.71.
2nd Team All SEC – I like big mean heavy loads in the middle…
3rd Round (2nd Pick) – Right Tackle
Anthony Davis*, Rutgers
Height: 6-6. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.24.
Big, strong guy… may not be there when we pick…
4th Round – Right Tackle
Chris Scott, Tennessee
Height: 6-5. Weight: 341.
Projected 40 Time: 5.43.
Big, strong guy… should be there when we pick…
7th Round – Defensive Tackle
DeMarcus Granger, Oklahoma
Height: 6-3. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
He’s a medical basket case… but if he’s there… and he might be… we should take him…
December 21st, 2009 at 8:19 pm
You having fun Pete?
December 21st, 2009 at 8:20 pm
I still say we draft a center in the 2nd or 3rd round.
December 21st, 2009 at 8:23 pm
normally i would agree with you…
but there are 2 reasons we need one in the first round…
1. we desperately need a center… smart, strong, nasty…
2. there are only 2 good centers in this draft… the rest are not worthy of consideration…
wisneiwski has the pedigree, is smart, and we really really really need a good center…

And if you don’t know who he is, well, you’re on the wrong blog site.

Florida Pete,
That’s quite the detailed draft already, you must have some free time.
I don’t start looking at the draft until the big bowl games start, and I know where the Raiders will be picking.
December 21st, 2009 at 8:32 pm
Bush and McFadden both had their chance to shine at the start of the year. They looked great in the game against SD and solid against KC, but then stumbled a bit and DMac got hurt. When Fargas first started playing this year it cannot be denied that he gave the team a spark and improved the running game.
I believe the Raiders truly want Bush/DMac to win the job…but they have to win it. Play like they did against the Donks and they are well on their way. Fargas is so damn consistent, if the young guys get that down they will get the snaps.
December 21st, 2009 at 8:33 pm
I went back and watched the game. TKelley had a very solid game. All 4 qtrs. He has benefited the most from Seymore. He gets doubled half the times, but he had a good game

80 yards per game…
i’ll take Bush’s 5.0 yards per carry…
thank you very much…

We should have been starting Bush since the beginning of last year.
If we had been starting Bradkowski and Bush without DHB, we would be going to the playoffs.

I thought he was supposed to be like Seymore when Al signed him to that big contract. Sort of a hybrid DE/DT type who could move around.
Instead he’s put on a ton of weight, and is stuck at the tackle spot.

Not a bad mock. I love the younger Wis, to be the future Center, he is smart, tough and strong at 6′3, 298, and has the Raider lineage….but taking him within the top 7 is a big reach.
Then again the crazy old man Al has reached for WR’s with inconsistent hands, underacgieving CB’s, overweight and lazy QB’s, and has even drafted a freakin kicker for cryin out loud in Round 1…..so if the looney decides to reach for Wis with a top 7 pick….I wouldn’t be at all shocked.
At least the kid Wis uncle Wis was a great Raider. The Raiders need to trade down from the top 7….as we say every year…but the old looney man won’t do it.

McFadden would be much better with upgrades at C, RG & RT imo … and somebody who can hold their own at QB
teams used to stack the box with Russell behind center because they knew he couldn’t get the job done and take advntage of mismatches or audible and change the playcall at the line of scrimmage
I still think DMC & Bush can be Thunder & Lightning.
everybody thought Cedric Benson was a bust until he got some blocking in Cincy!

For everyone that think is a top rate back….Opposing D’s rally havent had to plan for him, being down the chart for whatever reason. He is NO Earl Campbell. He is big like Earl but nowhere near the stamina or arm strength.I know we have three RB’s,but whoever Bush ends up with they will have to have another top-notch RB which =$$$$$$$$$$$$$,io

December 22nd, 2009 at 7:57 am
So, what’s the bet fellas? You think they’ll give Bush less than 10 carries next week now with Fargas healthy? I bet he’ll get less carries than the other 2 backs like he has all season long despite out producing them by far.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:04 am
Bush should be the starting running back, hands down.
He runs harder than DMAC and he is more explosive than Fargas.
He can also catch for a big back and he is just in need of more reps.
DMAVC is a change of pace RB and I will say it one more time. Please look in history at Eric Metcalf (Da Browns) and see how they used this guy. Also see Reggie Bush for the Saints. Utilizes the guys speed because he is not a power back.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:12 am
CJ
I agree with the DMac/Metcalf comparison but Bush is not a power back. He is a big guy with impressive moves but he will not move the pile at all. Dawkins blew him up at the goalline. 245lbs and he can’t move a pile tells me that he needs to hit the weight room in the offseason.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:13 am
Bcz24, good read. Those inserts in McFadden’s shoes may be effecting his footing.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 am
DT42 you are right in that Bush is no Jerome Bettis or even Jacobs for NY but he has more power than DMAC. NOw if I need to change up for 3-5 yards I look towards Fargas.
I still think Bush is our starting back right now.
When he has a game he really has a game. North to south runner.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:20 am
I agree that Bush should start, I think they should use McFadden as a Metcalf type back like you said and Fargus as a closer. On that goalline stand Fargus should have been in there. I miss Zac Crockett being in there. Can’t we suit him up?? He is in the scouting dept!!!!
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:24 am
Give Bush EVERY ONE of McFelldown’s handoffs. DMAC should strictly catch passes. And maybe an occasional pitch.
He can also run back kickoffs when he learns how to take a hit without fumbling, however I have never seen a RB go so limp on contact. It’s like he is momentarily paralyzed with no regard for ball security.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:26 am
McFadden = way to much dancing… should be getting the ball in space a la Reggie Bush
Bush = has no HEART… needs to be spelled every 2-3 carries
Fargas = has the heart and will impose his will, just not physically gifted or young enough to carry a team
Thats my take on our running situation

December 22nd, 2009 at 8:36 am
Mcfadden is no where a near a monumental bust. We are not utilizing him properly, he’s not Chris Johnson to be sure, but who the hell is to say Chris Johnson would be Chris Johnson behind our line. DHB is not getting a fair shake if you call him a bust. He DID NOT DRAFT HIMSELF at #7. Once the kid gets a little confidence, and a raport with a QB (NOT #2) he would be a decent WR, with huge upside on the long ball. I still say he should definitely be returning kicks.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:36 am
Morning Nation,
McFadden has not run the same since he was forced to switch from Adidas to the Swoosh due to the NFL contract. Got turf toe right away and although Nike has changed his shoes several times, he hates running in them.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:38 am

It is a close call, but DHB is still more of an unknown. In other words, DMAC has proven he is a massive bust while DHB has not fully exhibited his bustitude.

From Pro Sports Dailey
“Browns quarterback Brady Quinn has been placed on injured reserve with a right foot injury sustained on his 24 yard run at the end of Sunday’s 41-34 victory over Kansas City and will be lost for the season. “It’s going to take a little while (to heal),” said coach Eric Mangini. He said he’s not yet certain if he’ll undergo surgery. Derek Anderson will start Sunday against the Raiders. Brett Ratliff will be the No. 2 and Josh Cribbs will be the No. 3.”
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:42 am

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Does our O-line make him fall down untouched? Does our O-line make him fumble so often? Does our O-line make him so injury prone?
Plus, this same O-line has been good enough to get Bush a few dominant performances while DMAC has none.
And how are you supposed to “utilize” a guy who – when not nursing injuries – usually trips or lets go of the ball?
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:44 am
I think that this years offseason will be the most important one in a long time. If this team is going to turn the corner this will be the make or break year.
McFadden – has to continue to heal from those turf toes. Work on Ball security. Offensive staff needs to find ways to get him the ball on the outside (think Charlie Garner/Eric Metcalf).
Bush – sign him to a long term contract, Al needs to make a commitment to him and tell him that he needs to be ready to carry the ball 20 times a game. He has to hit the weight room and work on conditioning. Zac Crockett should be working with him on how to deliver a hit or drop a forearm on a defender instead of running out of bounds. Earlier I said to trade him to NE for A. Thomas, draft T. Cody from ‘Bama and move to a 3-4. But I think we can pick up Thomas after he is cut.
Fargas – time to make the transition. I want to see him on KR’s. He did it in college and he is fearless. Focus on mentoring McFadden,Bush and leading special teams. Now he is going to need a reward for being selfless. Put him in a Zac Crockett type role. Give him the ball in goal line and short yardage situations and let him be a closer type when we are ahead and running out the clock in the 4th quarter.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:52 am
Adrian Peterson fumbles FAR more than McFadden… is HE a monumental bust? I think not. Thats all there is to it… McFadden WAS dominating the Chargers in the 1st half of the first game, and then we CHOSE to move in another direction offensively. I agree he has a case of fumblitis but as someone else mentioned, Tiki Barber had it a LOT worse than DMac, and he worked at it and look how good he turned out. Im telling you right now, if we get rid of DMac he will go somewhere (NE) and show us exactly how good he could be. We will regret not giving that kid a chance to develop
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:54 am
And yes our pourous oline DOES make him fall down some times because hes have to make extra cuts in the backfield to try and allude the tacklers that busted up the play…

Brady Quinn season is over, he is in IR. Anderson to start against the Raiders
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:58 am
McFadden is not what we all expected, but he is doing pretty good the last games, the main problem for him is being healthy. I can’t call him bust.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:58 am
I don’t think McFadden was drafted to be the next great RB, I think it was to bring big play ability to the offense. McFadden wasn’t some smash mouth runner in college, he was a weapon used in a lot of different ways. Another reason this offense SCREAMS for an OC is the way DMAC is used. He is NOT Fargas and he is NOT Bush in terms of a RB, but he is a big play waiting to happen as we saw in the Pittsburgh game and last week.
Find a way to get the guy matched up against a S or a LB in the passing game BY DESIGN! There is NO reason why we are not seeing that. What is being done to even set up a play like that?
Pitch sweep on 4th and goal from the 4 instead of 2nd and goal from the 1?
I mean, we can go on and on about this. Cable needs to be more creative!

December 22nd, 2009 at 9:03 am
The thing with McFadden should be “touches” instead of “carries”.
Cable needs to be WAY more creative with how he comes up with touches for McFadden. Let Bush be the “RB”, and just let McFadden be a weapon.
December 22nd, 2009 at 9:04 am
I agree Jhill… Just like Reggie Bush. Get him the ball and swing passes and screens and let him run.
December 22nd, 2009 at 9:05 am
Quinn out, Anderson in for the Browns this Sunday. It’s actually a fairly big blow for them because Quinn has been playing well and moving that offense the last month or so: 7 TDs to 2 INTs in his last 5 games. Browns averaging 24 ppg during that span after averaging around 10 ppg the rest of the season. Back to back wins.
While Anderson was very good a couple of seasons ago he’s been a total bust this year. Let’s put it this way: his QB rating is worse than JaMarcus Russell’s … 13 points worse.

You ought to check the stats before making such a ludicrous comment.
Peterson in his career has 882 carries and 19 fumbles, or 2.15%. He scores TDs (37) at 4.19%
DMAC has 205 carries so far in his underwhlming career and 8 fumbles, or 3.9%. And only 5 TDs, or 2.43%.
And these are total fumbles, not fumbles lost. Apples to apples, so to speak.
December 22nd, 2009 at 9:24 am
And Peterson also averages almost a yard more per carry than McFelldown (4.0 vs. 4.9).
December 22nd, 2009 at 9:25 am
From PFT:Out of 33 qualifying NFL quarterbacks, Quinn finishes second to last in completion percentage and yards-per-attempt. The only player Quinn bests in both categories: JaMarcus Russell, of course.
December 22nd, 2009 at 9:27 am
So, Peterson fumbles half as much and scores TDs twice as much. Nice.
Is someone really trying to come up with an angle to compare DMAC with Peterson? LOL! Peterson wins that one easy.
On the other hand, our coach doesn’t know how to use DMAC. I think he can be effective in space, as many have pointed out. Quit running him between the tackles!

My point is not bogus at all. Why dont you look up and see how many times AP fumbled in his first 200 carries for a comparison. My point is simple, your calling a guy a bust before hes ever had a chance. I know Adrian Peterson is a much better RB the DMac, and would never compare the two. Then, when you’re called out, you change your stance and, eventually, resort to name calling. And you want to talk about education? Grow up.

Use McFadden like we used to use Charlie Garner. What’s the harm in seeing what he will do with a shovel pass or a bubble screen.
If Cable stays he has to delegate better. He needs to focus on the O-Line where he is one of the best position coaches in the league. And then he needs to manage his staff. Let Tolliner be his OC and call plays, and keep everyone on the same page on game day.
If he can’t do that then Marc Trestman can.

I have no problem with ZBS as long as its complimented with some pulling guards and trap plays. DC’s have too much time to prepare just for one style of running. Also, Trestman would be a disaster as HC – too weak to force accountability. Cable has at least developed smarter, more mature play, lowered penalties, and squashed the me-first attitudes.

Windy and snowy by Lake Erie. A QB who couldn’t beat out the Brown QBs (Frye), a QB on two bad wheels who couldn’t make the Cleveland squad (Grads), a QB who lost his job to Edwards (Losman), A QB who su@ked so bad he had to be benched in favor of Quinn (Anderson) and our very own JaMonumental – wow, expecting scintillating field generalship might be a stretch come Sunday.
It’s the Robbo show. He’ll tell his D to strip the ball every time McF touches it.
So, run Bush, run Bush some more and run Bush some more. And TACKLE Jerome Harrison!

Re: Trestman
I would be curious to see what Trestman would do with JRuss. I hear really good things from Canada on how he was grown as a Head Coach. He does have a very involved system and JRuss can’t half ass it. But like i said earlier i have no problem with keeping Cable as long as he delegates more and focuses on his strengths. I just think that if Cable does go then i’d take Trestman over Fassel. I just like his offense more.
I really think that this offseason is going to be huge for the franchise. The younger guys have to step it up and follow the lead of old pros like Seymour and Ellis. They have to learn to prepare for the season and take care of themselves. They (Jruss, Bush, Dmac and all of the others) have been in the league for a couple of years now they are veteran players now is the time to turn this thing around.

Al must be prepping Southwick to move straight into a management or GM role – the only position more important than QB for the futire success of the team. Gang way for the kid on a mission from Gawd!
Al: Denny, theres 30 seconds left. Draft me that speedy CB…
Southwick: Sorry Mr. Davis, I already called it in. We picked the stud O-lineman.

This is a professional football team…not your kids little league.
Play the best players that give you the best chance to win.
Not players with intangibles but no production
Not players based on draft status
Not players on scholarship
Davis and Cable threw away the season giving too much playing time to the wrong players and banishing others inexplicably to the bench.
Russell, DHB, Fargas, DMAC got way too many touches this year. And the difference was a playoff chance.
If Gradkowski had played from go…we win two more games
If DHB WASN’T playing…we at least beat K.C – drop after drop after drop
Fargas should not have been starting…too many 20 carry 60 yard efforts. THAT DOES NOT WIN GAMES
DMAC see above
Tom Cable should only come back based on how well he uses these players:
1. Michael Bush
2. Louis Murphy
3 Johnnie Lee Higgins
December 22nd, 2009 at 11:21 am
i with most of you, i think bush should be our main rb. however he needs too many breathers. after they came back from commercial ( 2 min warning 1st half) bush carried for about 10 yrds to around the denver 10. i jokingly said to my pops, “watch he’s gonna need a rest”. just being sacrcastic of course. next thing u know bush is waving towards bench running off the field. 1 play and the dude needs a rest? c’mon man. thats probably why cable dont play him half the time. does he have asthma? thats a serious ? too. maybe dude has some sorta breathing issues.

12:12 jerrymac: Don’t know if it’s safe, but I think there’s a lot better chance of him staying than it seemed like at around midseason. I don’t see a new playcaller coming in. If Cable stays, both Hackett and Tollner are under contract for another year. You don’t bring in another coach, so one of them would have to call the plays. And I guarantee if Hackett was calling plays, you’d be doing what they did in New York and KC, complaining about how he’s too conservative.

This formations using Pears as a blocking TE….added a whole other dimension to the left side of that line on running plays. They can also use Pears on the rigth side.
Bush was very effective running out of this formation and Cable and Tollner better keep using that formation blocking scheme with Bush and Fargas to wear out the Browns.
DMC should be used more on the outside and cutback against the grain plays and in the slot and on screens.
Bush can also be used on screens more.
On that 4th down goal line play….I still don’t know why DMC just didn’t sprint to the pylon. On a pitch like that, cutting back is a futile attempt at scoring.

Tuesday December 22, 2009 12:38 Bo Schembechler Jackson
12:41 jerrymac: ZBS calls for a lot of stretch plays and inside runs. It’s the bread and butter of the offense. All the backs have to run them or it becomes predictable. Once they admit McFadden can’t run inside, they’ve conceded they shouldn’t have picked him No. 4, and they’re not ready to do that. They have run him a ilttle more outside of late _including the pitch play at the goal line I thought was a good call that Denver stuffed anyway.

Tuesday December 22, 2009 12:46 NYC DAVE
12:46 jerrymac: You’ve got to have the ball an awful lot and your defense has to come up with a lot of stops to promise that many carries. You can identify a lead back and get him carries, but it’s tough to promise that many to two unless the game goes as planned.

DMC should have ran to the pylon instead cutting back.
If they stop running DMC inside…it is NOT an admitted mistake of drafting him #4 overall.
They need to get the ball to him in SPACE and let do his thing from there. Get him the ball on screens, bubble screens, pitches, wheel routes and use him in the slot.
As long as he makes plays in those situations, it is not admitting they made a mistake taking him #4 overall.
The lousy RB coack Kelly Skipper, needs to teach him to slash more and make people miss, instead of him tryin to run over people.

All backs must run inside the tackles, otherwise you are predictable on offense. If a guy dosent gain more than 2 or 3 yards between the tackles, those qualify as good hard nosed runs “tough yards”. Dmac does make tough yards inside, this sets up the outside game. Dmac’s real issue is his health, we havnt seen the raiders be able to set up the inside out game with him, because he hasnt been healthy enough to earn the required work load. The last 2 weeks point toward him becoming a solid pro back. He is also improving in terms of patience, and balance, or breaking tackles.

After reading the concern about Micheal Bush’s conditioning, it reminds of Earl Campbell. I’m sure some of you old dogs would remember the way he ran.
He would get tackled, then he would get up very slowly, as if he just ran a marathon. He would look exhausted. Then he would go back to the huddle, get the ball and smash through tacklers like they were butter.
Bush reminds me of that. Hey, I’m not saying he’s Earl Campbell. But he just reminds me of that style, where he gives the impression of being tired, but can still run over defenders.
Campbell kept getting the ball all game, and come the fourth quarter, he would win the game.

Yep, Jim Brown too.
But for Jerry to even go there sounds conspiratorial. Afterall he’s the 3rd string Back who is leading the team in rushing. C’mon Jerry.

The Raiders????
Noooooooo…
December 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
Good day all! This is just the kind of opponent that beats us. I hope the team is talking about that. We seem to let down when we play this type of team. Go Raiders stay focused for consecutive weeks and win two in a row.

Not looking forward to that.

Ooops, too late.

Steelers place Limas Sweed on IR. sign Joey Galloway
why couldn’t we placed Nick Miller on IR & sign a vet like 14-15 weeks ago!?!?
bunch of circus clowns running the show in Oakland, i swear
December 22nd, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Nick Miller was being saved for the playoffs . Whats wrong with that?
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:00 pm
I like Erik Pears backing up the TE spot in emergency.
Gives us an extra hog to run the football behind
However, I hope Zach Miller & Charlie Frye are healthy & ready to start @ Cleveland
A TE is a QB’s best friend & security blanket. I think the Brownies are gonna bring the heat every play like Dallas did at New Orleans on Saturday. test our o-line & QB. Rob Ryan wants to prove Oakland was wrong for letting him walk & convince Holmgren he deserves to stick

i with most of you, i think bush should be our main rb. however he needs too many breathers. after they came back from commercial ( 2 min warning 1st half) bush carried for about 10 yrds to around the denver 10. i jokingly said to my pops, “watch he’s gonna need a rest”. just being sacrcastic of course. next thing u know bush is waving towards bench running off the field. 1 play and the dude needs a rest? c’mon man. thats probably why cable dont play him half the time. does he have asthma? thats a serious ? too. maybe dude has some sorta breathing issues.
=======================================================
Fine, run him until he asks for a breather. Then bring in Fargas to get his carry or two. Perfect.
Everybody gets to play and the best back gets most of the carries.
Bush is out of shape because they hardly ever run the ball as a team…..
How is Bush out of shape anyway? What is it with this team? Perhaps Cable should spend more of his time MANAGING THE TEAM and BEING A HEAD COACH and less on trying to be an Offensive Coordinator.
Last I checked, the Head Coach was a higher position than the OC
Give it to Tollner or Hackett and do your job!

These young players have to realize they have to stay in shape ALL YEAR LONG
Bush needs to do what jerrymac said and break out the dam combat boots and run up mountains, down beaches this offseason, dragging DMAC behind me untill DMAC learns how to run on two feet.
JR needs to put down the pie and work out, run, train, throw, study this offseason.
If they all work hard good things will follow. Al will get some vets to mix in with this young talent and the mocking shall stop.
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:19 pm
What up Raider Nation!!!
The problem with McFadden is that he is not a patient runner when running between the tackles. He tries to hit the hole full speed without waiting for the blocks to be setup, this also cause his fumbles, he gets stripped because he is running upright.
DMC needs to watch film on Priest Holmes and learn to setup blocks and hitting the hole. But he really should be converted to WR, he has great burst after the catch, that slant against WASH was beautiful.

The question you have to ask yourselves is this; would it be better for Al to fire Cable at the end of this season or at 8 games or so into the 2010 season?
Either way Cable ain’t making it another full season in Oakland, so why not fire him when we might be able to hire a decent replacement instead of in the middle of next season when we might end up with Sanjay lal is interim HC?
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:21 pm
Tom Cable is going to win COY in 2010.

Jerry is just doing his job, earning a check, supporting his family and he doesnt slap women around when he isnt twittering.
Why are you venting your unbridled hate on poor Jerry?
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:22 pm
KrappyKell, you senile old goat, do you have nothing better to do than hassle a beat writer with the same old question over and over?
Yeah, we all know you want Jerry to ask Al about his performance as the general manager. We know it keeps you awake at night and causes you to soil every pair of underwear in your drawer.
But why do you think hounding the poor guy is going to accomplish anything? You’ve gotta have something better to do, like update your real estate web site or make another payment on your Swiss chalet.
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:27 pm
I will answer my own question.
Its because you are f%#king nuts.
You cant get at Al so you take it out on Jerry in hopes that he takes it out on Al.
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:35 pm
Mr. JP Losman better get some reps, he is going to need them. Mr. Russell will get sacked and knocked out as he is outta shape, crazy this late in the season, I know. He gets sacked and gets the ball knocked outta his hands so easily. Are his hands any bigger (or smaller) than Dave Kreigs? Mr. Frye is still seeing twinkle, twinkle little stars.
Mr. Satele needs to stop bopping his head up and down (like John Elway always got away with) giving away our plays, he doesn’t do it every time, so I wonder if it is a tell that other teams gauge upon?! (Professor Eyepatch do you have any free time to follow up on this)?
Mr. Gradkowski should only play if completely healthy as he is clearly at minimum our solid 2nd string/backup for years to come, he has definately earned a legitimate shot at the starting qb position.

Pete’s Draft – 1st Edition
1st Round – Center
Stefen Wisniewski*, Penn State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 298.
Projected 40 Time: 5.13.
We should trade down to pick up an extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd and then take this kid. A real live, smart center with a little bit of a pedigree…
2nd Round – Defensive Tackle
Dan Williams, Tennessee
Height: 6-3. Weight: 327.
Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
2nd Team All SEC – I like big, mean, heavy loads in the middle…
3rd Round (1st pick) – Middle Linebacker
Micah Johnson, Kentucky
Height: 6-2. Weight: 254.
Projected 40 Time: 4.71.
2nd Team All SEC – I like big mean heavy loads in the middle…
3rd Round (2nd Pick) – Right Tackle
Anthony Davis*, Rutgers
Height: 6-6. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.24.
Big, strong guy… may not be there when we pick…
4th Round – Right Tackle
Chris Scott, Tennessee
Height: 6-5. Weight: 341.
Projected 40 Time: 5.43.
Big, strong guy… should be there when we pick…
7th Round – Defensive Tackle
DeMarcus Granger, Oklahoma
Height: 6-3. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
He’s a medical basket case… but if he’s there… and he might be… we should take him…
=======================================================
Three 1st round prospects in the first three rounds? Well, that about sums it up.

The difference is that Bush actually is tired. Otherwise, he wouldn’t pull himself out of the game for a breather. He’s got large potential, and is definitely the team’s best HB…but his conditioning is just not good. He’s got JaMarcus gut, too.

Someone asked what the heck Samson Satele was doing bobbing his head before passing plays right as he snaps the ball. He was turning his head making the correct line calls. Remember Barret Robbins used to do that. He plays because he’s better as a power blocker. And as you guys have noticed we had only half of the line zone blocking. Even then we ran power most of the time. That’s why we caught the Donkeys out of position. They expected us to zone, instead we ran a Power scheme. Injuries caused it, but Cable looks like genius because of it. and Don’t worry KoolKell, I 100% understand what you’re saying. You are a representative of our frustrated fans. Keep getting your voice heard.

Pete, I like the list, but the kid Davis from Rutgers is a BEAST and definitely will not make it to rd. 3. One can always dream, though. I’d love to see them trade down and get him and Williams early!!!
