Third quarter: Browns 20, Raiders 9

Notes and observations from the third quarter of the Raiders-Browns game”

– Cleveland content to feed James Harrison (29 carries, 122 yards) and work the clock as quarter expires.

– Raiders get out of shadow of own end zone following fumble recovery but end up punting from inside own 35.

– Anderson carves up Raiders for 28- and 24-yard receptions to Mohamed Massaquoi and Michael Gaines. Touchdown by Harrison nullified by illegal block in back.

Greg Ellis fumble recovery, forced by Thomas Howard on Harrison, prevents Browns from going up 27-9.

– First possession derailed in part by Higgins drop. Frye’s 23-yard dumpoff to McFadden, beating a blitz, is wasted as Raiders punt.

– Raiders immediately give back Janikowski’s team-record 61-yard field goal on first possession. Browns drive for Dawson’s 33-yard kick.

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha missed final series of half but was back on the field to start second half. If he can’t finish, they’re ultra-thin at corner with ejection of Stanford Routt.

I lIKE the unnecessary roughness penalties. Last few weeks there has been extracurriculars by Oakland especially on D and 2 outa 3 times Richard Seymour is at its core. LOVE IT!!!

Routt’s head butt should be his last play as a Raider.

Not saying it will be, but it should…sucktacular.

Morris was horrible filling for reserve guard Walker.

Russell would’ve been burned in efigy had he performed like Frye.

    He couldn’t wait to show Holmgren…how s-hi-t he is…

Miller’s the shizz in a completely good way…

DMC is, so far, a bustola…

Cornell Green should not be an NFL player next year. Period.

53.3 rating is still six points higher than Russells….

    Pretty scary.

    203. 4 evea raider:

Agreed man. Browns have invested in line and its starting to show.

They need a QB too. Quinn’s not it.

Watch Al work a deal for Quinn just to pi-ss Lance off…

    Real Madden,

Just when I was about to join your fanclub you say Frye had a decent game???

What about that last interception and his inability to get in the end zone against a Rob Ryan defense?

    Work with me dude.

1 million dollars per catch for Walker
1 million dollars per catch for DHB
1 million dollars per interception for JRuss
4 million dollars per touchdown for McF
Cable’s playcalling priceless!!! (for the opposition)

    Kudos to SeaBass
