What up Nation?
Man it’s been wild down here in the N.O.
That Saints win yesterday was surreal for this city. People were in the stands hugging each other and crying. It was like a huge church service. Then it got really wild outside. People around the city were shutting down streets and not just the small ones. The whole city partied in the streets in EVERY neighborhood and most were popping fireworks. That seen you all saw of Bourbon Street was the way all neighborhoods were last night. Even the cops had their sirens on full blast and not messing with anyone. It was all love down here.
I watched from home with the family draped in my JaMarcus jersey from (Vegas Raider) and Raiders beanie. But I had fun with everyone else. People were partying with pictures of their fathers and mothers who passed away just to allow their spirit and memory enjoy the victory. EVERY neighborhood sounded like a stadium with loud cheering and music. Thousands did not make it to work today.

Good Morning NATION!!!!
Thankx 4da report 504 and there isnt a more DESERVING CITY….

Tebow has rough first day at Senior Bowl
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 25, 2010 7:53 PM ET
Already tired of Favre Watch 2010? Then can I interest you in a little Tebow Watch?
We pass along reviews of Tebow’s first day at Senior Bowl practice with the knowledge that the buildup to the NFL Draft will be a long one, with many ups and downs for Tebow. Monday was a downer.
Lindsay Soto on NFL Network: Tebow fumbled the first snap from center, then botched roughly 5-6 more during the day. Tebow is used to playing out of shotgun.
Chris Mortensen on Twitter: “First impression from NFL folks on Tebow at Senior Bowl — it is indeed going to be a challenging process for him.”
Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times: “I’m on the sideline at the Senior Bowl practice and let’s just say Tim Tebow is not exactly lighting it up. Horrible mechanics and accuracy.”
Tebow will get a chance to rebound in the next three days of practice on NFL Network.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
don’t we already have a QB who can’t take snaps from under center ???
January 26th, 2010 at 4:51 am
Pete….I think all the talk about Tebow in here is warranted. After Gradkowski we are thin, lol,at QB.I think Minnesota takes Tebow in the 1st round so he wont be available anyway.Soo at some point in this draft we need 2 address the QB.situation.Also our run defense was atrocious at best last season….
January 26th, 2010 at 5:09 am
Tebow won’t be available to us, unless we take him at no. 8…
Jags will take him with their pick…
i’m just amazed at all the Tebow love on here…
watching him play is strange… the way he hands off… the way that whole offense worked…
in the pros… Tebow will be occasionally handing the ball off to a DT… yes, a DT… because he’s in a shotgun… and then runs toward the line of scrimmage with the ball and hands off just prior to reaching the LOS… very strange… and it won’t work in the pros…
yes, he won… a lot… but the training he received at the college level will not translate well to the pros…
January 26th, 2010 at 5:17 am
There’s a lot of talk now that the Jags won’t bite with their first pick and may wait until the 2nd. After the reports, he should last until then.
Either way, there’s no chance of him sitting on the bench for long. First time the starter throws a pick, the fans will be screaming for him.
Just found out, he’s doing a 30 second ad during the superbowl about ” pro-life, pro-family” stuff. That might scare a few teams off. Probably will be a bible belt city that takes him.
January 26th, 2010 at 5:40 am
Jerry Mac had his motha’f'ing crony post this at 3:30 am…
January 26th, 2010 at 5:43 am
Oh, and even with Grad, this QB unit we have is horrible. I love how Grad comes in, plays ok at best, but since Russell was so bad, it made Bruce G look like a God.
Seriously Raider fans, don’t sound like such dopes applauding Grads work and acting like he’s the future when all he did was mop up and play the role of a decent pro QB after Russell’s dreadful outings.
I swear, Raider fans have to be complete morons…
Well, not all, but many in comparison to other fan-bases.
January 26th, 2010 at 5:45 am

January 26th, 2010 at 5:50 am
Good Morning Nation!!!
Hey, I will applaud Grads work because it shows the kind of work that our “starter” has to do. Never said he was the best qb, but…he is the best we have right now!!!
January 26th, 2010 at 5:51 am
GOOD MORNING SPORT’S FAN’S,NEW ORLEANS IN SUPER BOWL, THE APOCOLYPSE IS UPON US…
January 26th, 2010 at 5:55 am
Well it usually takes a QB 2-5 years of learning before they are put into games. We hit Gradkowski in his 4th year.So he was finally ready to play QB in the nfl. What I think is funny is people calling him a “journey-man” QB….lol a journey-man has at least 4 years in his chosen field,so actually this will be Gradkowski’s 1st year as a starter, even tho he came in last season and with T.B.
Grads showed what hard work and perseverance can do for ya….plus his ace in the whole is that % completion thing….I think Gradkowski will start here for a long time.I sure hope so anyway

Good morning Dirt Lot, 4eva, Pete, Northern D…
January 26th, 2010 at 6:08 am
Morning Raider Nation, 4evaRaider, Hwnrdr, DIRT-LOT, and anyone I missed.
Just a little humor to start the day:
Dead man walking.
An old, blind cowboy wanders into an all-female biker bar by mistake. He finds his way to a bar stool and orders some coffee.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the waitress;
‘Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?’
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent. In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says; ‘Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five things:
1. The bartender is a blonde woman with a baseball bat.
2. The bouncer is a blonde woman with a Taser.
3. I’m a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weightlifter.
5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.
‘Now, think about it seriously, Mister. Do you still wanna tell that joke?’
The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head, and mutters;
‘No…not if I’m gonna have to explain it five times.’
January 26th, 2010 at 6:09 am
A crusty old golfer comes in from a round of golf at a new course and heads into the grill room. As he passes through the swinging doors he sees a sign hanging over the bar:
COLD BEER: $2.00
HAMBURGER: $2.25
CHEESEBURGER: $2.50
CHICKEN SANDWICH: $3.50
HAND JOB: $50.00
Checking his wallet to be sure he has the necessary payment, the old golfer walks up to the bar and beckons to the exceptionally attractive female bartender who is serving drinks to a couple of sun-wrinkled golfers. She glides down behind the bar to the old golfer.
“Yes?” she inquires with a wide, knowing smile, “May I help you?”
The old golfer leans over the bar, “I was wondering, young lady,” he whispers, “Are you the one who gives the hand-jobs?”
She looks into his eyes with that wide smile and purrs: “Yes Sir , I sure am”
The old golfer leans closer and into her left ear whispers softly, “Well, wash your hands real fuking good, cause I want a cheeseburger.”

January 26th, 2010 at 6:16 am
LOL @ Exla’s jokes!
Very Nice.
January 26th, 2010 at 6:22 am
it’s amazing to me how many people don’t want us to draft Tebow (even in round 3 or 4) because of his faith & religious beliefs
what a bunch of scumbags
January 26th, 2010 at 6:27 am
actually, never thought I’d say this…
Ricky made a great point yesterday to those people who said Russell (even as bad as he is) is still a better option than Tebow.
He said “how do you possibly get a lower grade than the worst starting QB in the NFL?”
something along those lines. it was funny
I want a QB competition. I don’t want it handed to anybody because none of them have proved it in my opinion.
Russell, Frye, Gradkowski, Losman, Southwick & Tebow
January 26th, 2010 at 6:34 am
Brett Favre & Pat Williams are both considering retirement.
trade Russell & Warren for Steve Hutchinson!

well apparently no-one will pay to see the games now either, huh?
and its rather well documented that Al hasnt done any smart things since the late 70’s thats a slow decline for 30 years… Im pretty sure Al paid Matt Millen to be Lions GM, because then he knew at least one franchise would be worse than the raiders…
January 26th, 2010 at 6:34 am
my prediction…
unless we do an unexpected free agent signing…
the winner of the QB competition will be Losman…
January 26th, 2010 at 6:36 am
JaWalrus will be like Culpepper for Minny in 2004.
4700 passing yards & 39 TD’s!
LOL
January 26th, 2010 at 6:38 am
Al will probably cut loose Gradkowski, Frye & Losman.
then bring back Walter, Tui & Otis.
that way Russell enters the season as the unquestioned starter again …
January 26th, 2010 at 6:39 am
If you thought Andre Smith was Mr. Man-boobs at the combine last year, check out Terrence Cody NT from Alabama. Tipped the scales at 370 lbs. If JaLoser stood next to him, he would look thin.

January 26th, 2010 at 6:48 am
Looking at the initial problems of Tebow and Cody, Javier Arenas sounds great!!
I’m interested in how Arenas, Syd’Quan Thompson, Daryl Washington, George Selvie, Daryl Sharpton, Ciron Black and a few other’s play out.

January 26th, 2010 at 6:51 am
—”There are reportedly “rumblings at the Senior Bowl” that the Bears can’t find an offensive coordinator because candidates are turned off by the prospect of having to coach Jay Cutler. The perception, presumably, is that Cutler ran ex-Bears OC Ron Turner out of Chicago, which it would be hard to disagree with. It would also be hard to argue that Turner did a good enough job in the first place. There is a more logical perception that OC candidates don’t want to work under head coach Lovie Smith, who’s entering a “win or else” situation in 2010.”—
So coaching Cutler is apparently a worse situation than being under contract with Al and the Raiders…
well thank you Jay, Hue Jackson just signed with us because of you… LOL

terrible WR corps and O-Line. many injuries on defense

January 26th, 2010 at 7:06 am
LMN,
I’m guessing Cable told Jackson that if he’s retained he’ll be working with Gradkowski, Frye & Losman.
What would Hue Jackson see in Russell that nobody else in the world does ???
also, if i’m Hue Jackson i’m telling Cable to fix the O-Line pronto!
January 26th, 2010 at 7:08 am
If Jackson signed with us, thats good news. Ravens offense should be a model for us, their main players are second year players Flacco and Ray Rice, and we have young RBs and need a QB.
Also Baltimore spent first round picks in Linemans recently: Ben Grubbs is a Pro Bowl guard and Michael Oher finisehd second in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting, Haloti Ngata is a Pro Bowler, I hope he can make us realize thats the way to build a team.
January 26th, 2010 at 7:09 am
also, if i’m Hue Jackson i’m taking some self defense courses.
those coaches meetings in Oakland can be brutal!
January 26th, 2010 at 7:11 am
Ray Rice is everything I hoped McFadden would be, while Flacco is everything we all hoped JaMarcus would be.
January 26th, 2010 at 7:14 am
El Tato:
Jackson was a QB Coach in Baltimore the past 2 years. Grubbs & Ngata were there before he was!
how much coaching involvement does a QB Coach have with a RB (Rice) or OT (Oher) ? little to none is my guess
Jackson gets credit for working with Flacco and working with Chad & TJ as WR coach in Cincy …
January 26th, 2010 at 7:14 am
