Floyd Little, but not Branch or Stabler? What a crock.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:48 pm
Does JaDavis Russell want to be great? Is JaDavis watching Jerry Rice right now?
February 6th, 2010 at 2:48 pm
GOOD!!!,,,NO TIM BROWN!!! GREAT!!!

The part I quoted you on is NOT on Wiki.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:49 pm
Jerry Rice was a hell of alot better Raider then Tim Brown ever was,..period.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:49 pm
Better yet, is Al Davis watching the HOF thing and asking himself whether he TRULY believes JaDavis Russell is capable of having a HOF career.
Because JaDavis is being paid like one!
February 6th, 2010 at 2:50 pm
Oh shut up old feel kell,…you miserable old man….get a life outside of al davis,..hes a winner, youre a loser,..get over it..old fat loser.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:50 pm
repost
Ahh…I can’t just leave yet.
Cris Carter and Tim Brown belong on the same panel, to be elected to The Hall next year. Both are “me first” guys who somehow convinced themselves, and others, that they were all about the team. One thing about both guys, though — they NEVER quit on their teams, like the Randy Mosses of the world.
Some of those others (agree with M…the most obvious: Cortez Kennedy!?) were only there because people recognize their names, not necessarily their games. Still…those ELECTED this year all belong there.
But, when greats like Cliff Branch (his numbers DWARF Lynn Swann’s) and the incredible Lester Hayes are left out, the Hall Of Fame is only half-credible.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:50 pm
Another day, al davis owns old kell,…like every other day. old fool kell.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:51 pm
Lonetree, A great 40 time. lol Classic.
Kell, thanks for the response. I agree.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:51 pm
Tim Brown was a crybaby, just like old kell,..tim brown and old kell dont deserve the hall of fame,..they will never join al davis there…period.
February 6th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
You guys watching Jerry Rice and Steve Young talking about football and hard work……Jerry Rice at the facility running wind sprints 3 days after a Super Bowl victory.
Is Al Freek’n Davis watching this. The GM that DOESN’T BELIEVE IN CHEMISTRY….
Is JaDavis Russell watching this? The QB that won’t even bother showing up to OTAs and practice?
February 6th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
Happy to say that I never did watch the twice yearly Rice-a-Roni vs Emmitt Smiff match-ups.
Wasn’t a single desirable outcome from any of those games that I cared to see.

I wonder if JaDavis Russell would be willing to work with Jerry Rice for some time…provided Jerry was willing…..
Jerry Rice busted his backside to get good…..
JaDavis Russell wearing jewlery and being overweight is a disgrace.
I hope he took time from his day of “training at a world class center” to watch Jerry talk about his days as a draft pick from some small college in Mississippi

February 6th, 2010 at 3:01 pm
I recognize that Davis is the sole decision maker.
I just don’t think the team can win with him making ALL the decisions…..
For example, JaDavis Russell being FORCED into the lineup when he didn’t even win the job in the offseason.
A culture that was created that allowed a JaDavis Russell to show up overweight, indifferent, not understanding the playbook and still forced into the lineup.
That was and is Al Davis’ decision and his alone.
The draft of Darius Heyward-Bey….nuff said
Darren McFadden…..not even the 15th best running back taken in the draft…..
But its DAvis’ team to do as he wish. I hope things get better this year….but I am not counting on it
February 6th, 2010 at 3:01 pm
Yes goin to the games is a great day, awesome experience,..however old fool kell spends his days, all day long, obsessing over al davis,..he cant break free from that,…thinks about him all day long,…thats why youre a loser old kell,…hey have you been to canton?..I have, theres a huge display of all things al davis,..go check it out!! hahahaha

HayesDaze,
you know that some of the lack of support for your man Lester is because he was a Raider.
there’s probably others who dislike stick-um (but nobody seems to raise any concerns that all wide receivers nowaday use hi-tech gloves on their hands to inflate their numbers – sorry folks but a cold wet football sticks to those things in a much different way than frozen fingers).
Lester deserves the Hall, perhaps some day…
February 6th, 2010 at 3:04 pm
Now, KK –
Since you’re in meltdown mode…do you really want me to go hunt down where you used a professional writer’s words as your own…but you didn’t say you didn’t write it yourself?
That would be plagiarism, KK…and you’ve been guilty of it time and again in here.
I might have to issue another HYPOCRITE ALERT on you, KK! (You are the record holder, you know…)

Unfortunately, this is increasingly the take of more Raider fans.
When wins and losses don’t matter, and we are talking PROFESSIONAL sports..not tee-ball….something wrong.
With that said, I am more aligned with Norco’s view.
I just don’t think this team can win with the decisions being made by the Owner

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fan_(person)
Teams that have a large amount of fans that have such an obsession with their team that their lives are practically based around the team are often called rabid fans. These fans often congregate hours before kickoff in what is known as a Tailgation. The Oakland Raiders are often cited as an example of a team with a rabid fanbase because of their large fanbase internationally as well as unusually large amounts of local news coverage in Oakland/SF Bay Area in recent years being dedicated to the team even during the down years of the recent past. People need to remember that the glory years and the countless years of domination far outweigh the recent past and the return to glory is inevitable.

The new gloves are actually stickier than Stick-um…and they’re a lot cleaner in the muck. Prediction: the league will start limiting the gloves’ impact pretty soon, much like the PGA had to crack-down on equipment/balls.
When technology is more important than the players’ own abilities to make plays, the game suffers for it.

TV money : $5,000,000,000 divided by 32 = $160,000,000
Ticket sales : 60,000 x $50 = $3,000,000 x 10 = $30,000,000.
Ticket sales and concessions and merchandize are all just gravy. The TV already pays for everything.

Cliff Branch could run by Swannie…and catch all the balls that bounced off Swannie’s hands in games other than the Playoffs and Super Bowl. Swann was an above-average WR…whereas Branch caught everything, in all games — and was as feared as a deep-threat could be in his day.
Branch was a better player EVERY SINGLE DAY than Swann. Period.
Throw out some more weak chum, KK…
February 6th, 2010 at 3:29 pm
Again, the themes from this HOF special on NFLN…
Work hard, study hard and be a great teammate.
The freekn Raiders are so frustrating because the current iteration of this team DOES NOT represent those things.
Starting with JaDavis Russell…the epitome of slothfullness, laziness and entitlement!
Step up JaDavis…..and someone tell Al Davis that character matters in a football player…chemistry matters..COACHING MATTERS!

No, I don’t think you’re worried about my karma. I think you hate that post though. What else can you say?
February 6th, 2010 at 3:40 pm
Kell, Disarray, amongst players, coaches, and orginizations is not uncommon amongst teams that are losing.
The Raiders are not the only orginization to experience this “dysfunction”
Talk to a Saints Fan.
They wrote the book.
February 6th, 2010 at 3:41 pm
Lynn Swann: 1974-1982 Rec: 336 Yds: 5,462 Avg: 16.3 TD: 51
Cliff Branch: 1972-1985 Rec: 501 Yds: 8,685 Avg: 17.3 TD: 67
——————–
Just based on numbers alone, the great Raider Cliff Branch smokes Swann. But, more importantly…anyone who saw Swann and Branch both play (and was objective about it), would have to agree that Branch was at least Swannie’s equal — and actually better, for a longer period of time.
That Branch sits on the sideline of the HOF is a crime. And shame on KK for letting his hard-headed pride try to make an argument for Swann over Branch. Pure BS…and pathetic.
No more chum for me, today Kell — it’s starting to numb my buzz.
February 6th, 2010 at 3:44 pm
KoolKell,
not worried about the karma, correct.
as well, there is nothing to be learned or gained from a past won-loss list, so I don’t concern myself with it either.

February 6th, 2010 at 3:46 pm
What I dislike about this team the most is the lack of professionalism. The laziness of key players…the background noise…the constant hiring and firing of lousy coaches that should never have been hired in the 1st place.
Again, these Hall of Famers keep talking about teamwork, working harder than the next guy, leadership, and great coaching.
Then you look at the Raiders…and you see none of that. You have a slothfull QB that was FORCED into the lineup and is looking like the same will happen again short leash or not…..bust draft picks and lousy free agents.
Al Davis will never win again until he changes the way he makes decisions and the conclusions he reaches.
No more speed guys…get football players
February 6th, 2010 at 3:47 pm

How is it that a coach that never won a championship (Don Coryell) even be considered as a HOF’er yet another coach with 2 Super Bowl rings (Tom Flores) not even make the list?
The fact that sports writers are the people that determine who makes it into the HOF is a karmic joke. All of these writers, many failed athletes as well as others with some kind of historical bias and/or agenda, live to determine the fate of Fame as it were.
Someone said it before on this blog, that is like having the Printing Press Union determine the Pulitzer Prize winner.
The NFL Hall of Fame is nothing more than a traveshamockery!

fact is having followed the Raider franchise since its infancy I am aware that the winning has outweighed the losing over the course of time.
fact is, even if that were not the case I would still be a Raider fan.
as a W’s fan and an A’s fan. and a Cal fan.
hometown stuff. family stuff.
want them to do well, but when they don’t I ain’t changing jerseys.
and whining and spitting on them brings nothing.

Pendergast gets job with Raiders
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on February 6, 2010 6:06 PM ET
Clancy Pendergast is staying in the AFC West.
The deposed Chiefs defensive coordinator will join the Raiders as the team’s next defensive backs coach, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Pendergast remained on staff in Kansas City for a while after Romeo Crennel took the defensive coordinator job, and the Chiefs said they wanted to keep him in some role. Eventually, he got out. Perhaps the Chiefs had a clue where Pendergast was going to end up.
February 6th, 2010 at 4:07 pm
Gannon is a red ass.
I respect his “intensity”.
Make no mistake, GRUDEN coached and ran those teams.
Being a obsesseive compulsive loud mouth does not make you a leader or a winner.
It requires a TEAM effort.
Gannon had the tools around him to make a career out of what was a fairly mediocre football existence.

KK — Why do you cuss so much when you get frustrated in here?

Gannon is at the head of a long list of ex-players who say the organization is a mess. It’s also a common perception around the league.
NFL players voted it as the worst place to work in the NFL.
You just don’t want to hear it. Sticking your head in the sand only enable losing.
February 6th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
Is that how you talk to your wife, KK?
“Gawdammit, Fraulein! What did the microwave instructions say??”
February 6th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
Because old kell is frustrated,..every day,..and hes getting worse every day…Al Davis owns that old fool kell,..and the funny part is Al Davis doesnt even know old kell,..old kell is just another old loser,..while al davis is a billionare in the hall of fame,..lol hahaha

February 6th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
Bobbo…that’s the dumbest copout excuse ever..saying “Al’s in the hall…so…HE GETS A FREE PASS FOR TOTALLY DESTROYING THE RAIDERS.
No one gives a flying ratsass on getting in the hall almost two decades ago, for what he did OVER A QUARTER OF A CENTURY AGO…
You grasp that?
Yeah, A QUARTER OF A CENTURY AGO Al had his act together.
Since then he’s become the worst owner of any team of any sport.
Simple fact.
February 6th, 2010 at 4:17 pm

If the Raiders Organization is the worst place to work then I suggest whoever considers that to be true should go out in this world for a bit of perspective.
Irrigating fields with a team of Brahma Bulls for 4 bucks a month in Rajasthan comes to mind as a worse place to work.
Or the Nike sweatshops in Southeast Asia.
Or sweeping up in a Tegucigalpa bus station.
Oh…worst sports franchise. Millionaires complaining about working conditions. Doesn’t that beat the pi$$ out of the synapses.
February 6th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
Kell,
The only players I care about are the ones on the current roster, and more importantly THEIR opinion.
The Grass is always greener on the teams that are winning.
If the Raiders are winning, the perception goes away.
This is a simple truth.
Again, to quote our beloved John Madden.
“WINNING is a great deodorant.”

Who, and what relation, I will never tell you…but, I know you can never change the way I feel about this team, or its owner…no matter how many negative articles you plagiarize to make bad news worse.

You so naive you believe that teams don’t pay attention to fans?
Al has repeatedly commented on negative comments regarding him AND the organization..comments yelled loud and clear by fans and media…OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE’S PASSING ON WHAT PISSES OFF THE MASSES.
Blindly going along, accepting it as if you should just be a mouse and timidly concede is the worst thing any fan can do. Fans who show up and DON’T boo bad performance, and horrible decisions?

WRONG.
If someone is offered 20 million by two teams, and one of those teams is the Raiders..NO PLAYER WILL PICK THE RAIDERS.
That’s the point.
Oh..yeah..if you offer 30 million? Sure..just like Hall…just like Walker…just like Wilson…etc…throw stupid money? Of course they’ll laugh all the way to the bank.
Point is the Raiders are still the least desirable team, in the NFL, to play on.
