Gradkowski: I could play tomorrow

Raiders quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, having signed his second-round tender and up to his usual gym-rat ways, said he is feeling no effects from the MCL tears in each knee that ended his season in 2009.

“I never stopped working out because I wanted to get my knees healthy and my legs strong,” Gradkowski told beat writer Steve Corkran in a phone interview. “I could play in a game tomorrow. I feel great.”

Gradkowski said he signed his tender Monday and said he’s been at the facility “on and off” since the end of the regular season. The agents for center Jon Condo (second-round tender) and Chris Morris (original round tender) also said their clients had put pen to paper. Antoher reported signing is original round tender Charlie Frye.

Still no word on linebackers Kirk Morrison and Thomas Howard.

Unlike last season, when Gradkowski was simply attempting to secure a roster spot as the No. 3 quarterback behind Russell and Jeff Garcia, he enters the offseason program intent on being No. 1.

“I’m so excited this year because there’s a good opportunity for me to go compete for the (starting) job,” Gradkowski said. “The way I played last season opened the doors for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do. We beat some good teams last season. We just need to become a more consistent team.”

For what it’s worth, and it’s not worth a lot in March, Gradkowski will get at least a day’s head-start on Russell in the offseason program. There was talk Russell could be at the facility as soon as tonight.

  • I don’t blame ya, TJ..I exposed your ghetto ass as being uneducated. OF COURSE YOU PRETEND YOU DON’T READ.

I exposed you as the raider show hosts LAUGHING YOUR ASS OFF THE AIR..where others listened in and agreed…that you came across as a mumbling, bumbling, uneducated fool.

Yep…lol..if I were you I would pretend you can’t read either.
    3rd grade..right?

Like I said many times before….this team will continue to SUCK and LOSE with the old man making all the personnel decisions, and without a good O-Line, D-Line, and QB, along with better game planning, schemes, and play calling.
Yeah, the old man has lost it. Must be easy for some of these teams to play him. I mean, he signed Tommy Kelly for that huge contract because Denver was supposedly interested? lol. Then, there’s Javon Walker. That signing is just pathetic on so many levels.

wait….I wanna know why the police were called…lol. I need to keep up with this blog better than I have.
Oh, lol..that was Madden Raider..said ‘I think I should do my civil duty, and call the police because some guys are not being very nice on this blog’.

Police laughed at him like the raider talk show hosts laughed at Priest (No, not making that up..they laughed, and hung on him, and did the same each and every week after each raider game..funny as hell hearing them say “and we have priest from fremont” followed by snickering and “yeah, yeah..priest..sure…ok priest..bye bye now”)

Of course MR says “police didn’t laugh at me”, lol..but..I suspect like priest, they’re were lots of laughs going around.

  • Oh..and Old man Kelli?
He called the police to complain about his info being posted, until he admitted HE POSTED IT FIRST..then they got to laugh at him as well.

  • It’s so neat having Oakglen/Seymour sign in just to tell me he misses me..then he leaves..waiting for me to go

You ask some dumb questions Raiderman99 have you ever heard anyone say Russell is not talented?
Ray Charles can see Russell has unlimited talent.

    lol..you moron.

Grads will make them play Russell again before the year is out. He just can’t get it done at a hig enough level. He has no potential for greatness. Russell has a ton of potential he just needs to realize that.

you gotta be sh1tting me about the police thing. LMFAO!

  • And a real nifty gem from TJ the Idiot:

I’ll answer you Raiderman99. When I first saw Russell the first thing I notced was how well he threw on the run and his arm strength. He made some unbelieveable throws. Most were out of the pocket and on the run. Throwing bullets between defenders.

His presence in the pocket was exceptional when he was confident. His ability to see the field was exceptinal when he was confident. His ability to hit his recievers in stide was exceptional when he was confident. his leadership skills were exceptional when he was confident.

But if you innumerate everything you look for in a QB before you draft him Russell showed that before he was drafted. Leadership wasn’t even a question. All the other attributes were there.
Leadership, competitiveness, accuracy, makes all the throws has command in the huddle. The tougher the situations the more he competes. He did that with us.

THE ABOVE POST MIGHT JUST BE THE DUMBEST POST OF ALL TIME..however, I reserve the right to state that something you’ll post, in the future, will be even dumber.

Oh hell no..don’t have time now, but next time you’re on, I’ll paste ya some of the festivities.

Hell, he went further than that, as I recall..was whining to the mods about someone or other, along with reporting it to everyone from his mailman to the locals..then tried to justify it for the following couple of days.

    Kind of funny, actually.

  • TJ???

Sorry I’m not a part of your whine and cry crowd. Hey when are you guy’s going to put up a new billboard since the last one was so effective. lol

Oh I know….your part of the loser b***h kiss ass lap dog crowd who tries to steal money from the TRUE fans who want see TRUE change and for the franchise to get back to respectability and start winning again. LOL

Trust me…..there are a lot more Raider Nation fans that feel the way I do and call and make VALID complaints….then the c**k sucking lap dog Al Davis crowd your a part of.

The lack of attendance, blackouts, and embarrassing billboards calling for change are PROOF if that. LOL

When old man Al goes bye bye…you should go bye bye as well…..LOL

Kyle Calloway would be a good value pick in Round 3 or 4 as a road grading RT or RG prospect for the Raiders.

At 6’6,323 he excels at being a bulldozer on the right side of the offensive line.

  • Why does it seem like Corkran is always the one to contact players/agents/Herrera for comments. I cannot remember the last time Jerry wrote “I called so-and-so for a comment, and was told…”

Brown, Scott, Wimbley, Norris, Nixon & Ekejiuba are under contract. We’ve also shown interest in bringing back Sam Williams.

Morrison & Howard haven’t signed their tender offers yet.

I wonder what the LB corps will look like 3 months from now?

  • RaiderRockstar

saw Eric Allen & Mark Schlereth on NFL Live last night.

Suzy Kolber brought up the fact that Russell missed the 1st day of voluntary workouts.

Mark Schlereth said “if you look behind you and nobody is following, you’re not a leader.”

Eric Allen said “I know a lot of people have been trashing the Raiders over the past 10 years, but as an athlete and a professional, you’ve got to go to work and do your job. This guy just has no clue right now.”

fair assessment by both former players. Eric Allen always shows a lot of respect towards Al Davis and Mark the donk lover actually made a decent comment without trashing the organization for once…

Just heard from a bay-area friend that on the some show, I think Chronicle Live(?), that Willie Brown was on and glowing about Russell.

Said he was at AZ working out and said the exact facility, has had an ex-Raider by his side all offseason, and is in noticably better shape, and will be in to the facility tomorrow.

    I thought ole Willie retired?

Who is the ex Raider by Russell’s side?

  • hwnrdr

What was the final, Dakota? Was going to go last night, but…had too much to do last night!!!

what is J.P. Losman doing these days?

I haven’t heard anything about him visiting any teams.

is he going to play in the UFL another season, or do you think he’ll find a team before Derek Anderson, Charlie Batch, Kyle Boller, Daunte Culpepper, Rex Grossman, Joey Harrington, Jeff Garcia, Jon Kitna & Mark Brunell?

Willie Brown did retire, but retired players & coaches give interviews too …

so at first Russell was with an olympic trainer and now he’s with a former raider? which is it?

  • JaMarcus is a JOKE!!!!

What in God’s name is he thinking?

He is getting paid a fortune, not producing, should be the absolute leader of this team and is fighting for his job, and the fans have turned against him and he doesn’t show up??

Even if he made a deal with the team to come in later because it is voluntary he’s still screwing up BIG TIME.

He is not serious about being the player he can be and doesn’t get it.

If I were him and read the comments on this blog and PFT I would be so aware of my image that I would do everything in my power to show the world I was working.

Even a teammate called him a “HORROR SHOW”. The guy is officially brain dead. I’m done with him.
