Raiders radio on the move

The Raiders continue to be nomads in terms of a radio home after opting to go with a syndicator which will handle the rights to their games.
“The Raider Organization is delighted to announce an exciting new relationship with Compass Media Networks, pursuant to which Raider games will be broadcast in the Bay Area on KFRC 1550-AM and KITS Live 105-FM, as well as a broad affiliate network in California and beyond,” Raiders chief executive Amy Trask said. “We thank KSFO (560-AM) for its support of the Raiders for the past six years and wish it well.”
KSFO marketing director Anthony Licciardi made it clear the network had wanted to continue with Raiders broadcasts and weren’t dumping the club _ KTCT (now KNBR 1050) did in its last radio deal.
“We tried to keep the Raiders, we wanted to keep the Raiders,” Licciardi said. “Ultimately, they went with a syndicator, and the syndicator found them the best offer.”
Hard to believe the Raiders new setup could be any worse than it was on KSFO. Other than game day, there was virtually no Raiders content. Most NFL teams have radio deals which put their coaches on the air _ often to answer questions from the public _ and have regular features and interviews with players.
Much of the Raiders’ problems are their own. They’re so over-the-top in terms of controlling the message _ preferring an infomercial to critical or objective analysis _ it makes for bad programming other than the games themselves.
Here’s hoping syndication will make things better _ although it’s worth noting it was a radio rights issue (when Bob Speck Productions gave way to Nederlander Sports Marketing in 1993) that led to legendary voice Bill King leaving the Raiders when the club was in Los Angeles.

KSFO sucks. Zero Raider coverage.
Prior to KNBR buying the Ticket 1050, the Ticket was nonstop Raider talk, with JT the Brick’s daily show, Rod Brooks had a segment, regular interviews..nighttime was call in talk most nights…
With KSFO the ONLY time you heard Raiders were only on game day.

SnB is just like most of these guy’s they always want what they don’t have. Because they believe that anything they don’t have is better than what they have. No matter how other teams or GM’s show interest in our players they can’t be that good.
I heard many times what other teams thought of our defense and especially the dline. In most cases they were very impressed. Not saying they played well every game and at times they were inconsistent but there were times when they were dominant as well.

Im pulling for Gradkowski to win the job from Jawalrus, thats how bad this idiot is. I wouldnt mind Dan Williams or any NT that is good enough for them to stop the run!!! Im sure they can find a good OT in the 2nd round.

This is a good move. KSFO sucked. Hopefully we now get some more Raider coverage. Although it will be hard to listen with a team that sucked so bad. But whatever. A little is better than nothing.

priest, today’s NFL is passed balanced, using as many receivers as possible. Passing range is anywhere the defense has holes…for most teams. For the Raiders, it’s beyond the 10 yard mark all of the time. The Raiders are different.

How come Al Davis got mad with Kiff for ‘undermining behaviour’ and ‘disloyalty’ and yet he does nothing while Russell continues to make Davis and the Raiders look like total clowns?
Russell is a sad joke. He acts like someone who knows the game is up and is just waiting for reality to hit. The tragedy for the Raiders is that Russell was the best QB prospect in the year the Raiders had the No 1 pick. If only we had had the chance to get someone like Stafford or Bradford or Ryan.

The one thing I think McNabb DOES bring to the table for Oakland, is teams can no longer stack the box against us. They have to respect the passing game. Im sure the addition of McNabb will be big for Chaz and Murphy as well. That said, I still think the price is too steep for a guy that MAY get us to 8-8 or 9-7, and will more than likely only play 1 year here.

Russell weight & a potential trade for McNabb are still just unverified rumors at this point. We could be getting all worked up over nothing. I do think Donovan will eventually be dealt, but I’m not sure what level of interest Al Davis has displayed (if any). nobody knows!
Cable + Hackett + Tollner + Gradkowski + Frye all returning and the fact that Russell was assigned a babysitter in the offseason doesn’t bode well for him. At this point I think it’s Russell or McNabb – not Russell & McNabb … and let’s not forget that we’re also looking at QB’s in the draft and “reportedly” interested in Sage Rosenfels too

Well, it’s a nice tactic, Rockstar, but even though I’m a billion times less intelligent than Sarah Palin I’m not falling for it.
Never said that there weren’t both Republicans and Democrats in each place, nor did I ever say that people in Houston or Dallas were stupid.
What I said was that the Pope would get a better reaction from his slapping of Nacy Pelosi in places like Dallas and Houston because she is considerably less popular in those places than she is in NY. I used Dallas and Houston as examples because they have large stadiums, and I used Sarah Palin as a substitute for Pelosi in NY because her poularity there is about the same as Pelosi’s is in Texas.
NOW do you get it? It is a joke, you know… just like the one you posted.

All has to do with winning clown. When they were winning there was plenty of content. Just like when they were winning they had 2 to 3 Monday Night Games a year. Get back to winning and not only does it shut guys like you up, the coverage is expanded.

Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland – has size, agility, arm length, excellent upper body strength…and a brain disorder diagnosed from high school (which scouts didnt know about) – PERFECT! (sigh) , either this guy, or Bulaga….
Koa Misi, DE/OLB, Utah – explosive first 2 steps, plays hard, good pursuit guy…would be learning the OLB position….i m thinking he’s the fall back if Thomas Howard is dealt.
if we do the trade, then acquire a 2nd round pick, swap that for OT Jared Gaither (familiar with Hue Jackson from Ravens year)
Linval Joseph, DT, E.Carolina – has natural strength, good size at 6-6, 325, solid character , a lot of upside..the cupboard is bare (since Gerard Warren was dealt)
Vlad Ducasse, OT, UMass – great pick up if we were to acquire by trade – put him right in at tackle or RG
Phillip Dillard, ILB, Nebraska – a little short, pursues hard, moves well laterally, would need a big DT to protect him from guards…good in coverage so thats a plus
A.J. Jefferson, CB, Fresno St. – good returner with NFL speed..should help secondary at some point..allowing Johnathan Holland to go back to gunner on special teams. – Jefferson’s return ability is another plus. Another dude that is explosive is Utah’s R.J. Stanford.
Kion Wilson, OLB, S.Florida – good closing burst, tough and competitive, good character..hig motor, see and go reactor…the type you root for…gives you everything he has.
