First-round draft pick Rolando McClain will wear No. 55, according to the team roster on Raiders.com
Other numbers issued to Raiders draft picks:
12 Jacoby Ford, WR
22 Walter McFadden, CB
23 Jeremy Ware, CB
27 Stevie Brown, S
48 Travis Goethel, LB
68 Jared Veldheer, T
74 Bruce Campbell, T
99 DE Lamarr Houston, DE
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, who wore No. 12 last year, switched his number to 85 in the offseason. No number issued yet for quarterback Jason Campbell. Bruce Campbell is listed only as a tackle, although coach Tom Cable said he would also get work at guard. Linebacker Quentin Groves, acquired from Jacksonville for a fifth-round draft pick, is wearing Kirk Morrison’s No. 52.

No one should get to wear 12…. It should be retired..

Ken “The Snake” stabler——-> 12
Best QB ever…

Here’s addition by subtraction, in the mind of a Raider fan:
Raiders with Russell: 5-11
Raiders without Russell: 5-11
April 27th, 2010 at 9:34 pm
Al’s number: 0.

I am not really sure who is the best out of those 3, but Campbell has had to do the most, with the least…

Really? I’m not trying to knock Campbell, but Aaron Rodgers has emerged as one of the best QBs in the NFL. I’d put him right at No. 4 behind Manning, Brees and Brady.

The addition of Campbell alone at QB will add 4 wins so I would say 9-7 next season

Real MR – how many posts on here today? You were posting when I went to work and when I checked in at lunch and now you’re still at it I see. So many posts and none of them are relevent or make much sense. That has to be a record of some sort. Congratulations I guess. just what are you trying to say…?

JaMarcus or one of his relatives wouldn’t show the work ethic that RMR does with the quantity of posts.

Thec,
I like Campbell a lot. I always thought he wasn’t a good fit in Wash, and I think He will do much better in our system. He needs a good OL, and that was one of his problems with the skins. We need to improve our OL.

RMR – What would you know about the mind of a Raider fan?
April 27th, 2010 at 9:43 pm
Here’s a draft analysis of JaMarcus Russell from a few years ago:
“his touch on his long ball has improved quite a bit, but he still needs to work on his underneath throws. … Still has not fully grasped the mental aspect of calling his own game yet, and will need to have the plays called for him until he can prove that he can handle play-calling on his own. …”
Pretty telling, isn’t it?
Doesn’t it give you an idea of what’s in store?
Isn’t it pretty much everything Raider fans complain about in Russell at present day?
Well guess what?
That’s actually NOT Russell’s draft analysis.
It’s Jason Campbell’s.

Houston is wearing 99 just like Warren Sapp.
He reminds me a lot of Warren Sapp when he was young.

Oh..he reminds of you Warren Sapp *when he was young*. Well played. Well played.

To bad we didnt sign faneca
April 27th, 2010 at 9:48 pm
Campbell is another bomb thrower. Another Davis prodigy. Another Russell.
April 27th, 2010 at 9:50 pm
Come on and sign Henderson
April 27th, 2010 at 9:51 pm
I hope he has a career like Sapp
April 27th, 2010 at 9:52 pm
We were 5-11 last season with no OC, no QB (sorry Vegas), bad OL, and a below avg rushing attack. We added 2 OTs, a Vet QB (who has more TDs than INTs, and completed over 60% of his passes), a DE/DT, and an OC.
We did improve!!
BTW, Campbell has a career rating of 82.3!
April 27th, 2010 at 9:53 pm
Except that he completes 12% more of his passes, his passer rating is 28 points higher, very few lost fumbles and he throws less far less interceptions. Other than that it’s a good comparison seeing how their both black… lol. Put the pipe dow dude and give it a rest. You’ve had a long day. lol
April 27th, 2010 at 9:56 pm
I don’t know why I added DE/DT to the prev post, but I do like Houston a lot, and I think 4eva is right about him. He will help us a lot against the run, and he can rush the passer as a DE or DT. Great pick!
April 27th, 2010 at 10:01 pm
Campbell’s career:
-Rating: 82.3 and his rating last season was 86.4
-cmp %: 61.2% and it was 64.5% last season.
-he threw more TDs than INTs every season he played.
We did improve!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Henderson would be a classic signing for the Raiders. It would help bring stability and more veteran awareness on Defensive side of the ball
April 27th, 2010 at 10:50 pm
I am excited for the season to start and I think we have a real chance at winning afc west
April 27th, 2010 at 11:13 pm
The most important number:
Mr. Jason Campbell will lead the Raiders to at least a 2-1 record @ home within our division and at least one victory versus San Diego, a sweep of either Denver or Kansas City; therefore the Raider’s division record will be 5-1.
Raider’s will sweep at least two divisional opponents!
Even at .500 outside the division that makes the overall record 10-6.
Should the Raiders go 4-2 within the division, they just need to go 2-2 versus NFC West, more than doable. I project a 3-1, but for argument’s sake, we’ll say 2-2; that’s 6-4 so far.
At 3-3 in the AFC Conference (outside the division), Raiders are 9-7.
We just need to go 4-2 in the AFC Conference, against teams, Titans, Texans, Steelers, Dolphins, Jaguars, & Colts to go 10-6.

Good video on NFL.com with namdi, sapp and woodson talkin Raiders football
April 27th, 2010 at 11:15 pm
I am on board with that for sure. I feel a playoff run!
April 27th, 2010 at 11:21 pm
Dan I really see Al giving more leverage to his coaching staff. Should he give them the, GO! to blitz more and be a maverick on defense showing more packages then watch out, we will not only beat up opponents like we did versus the Chargers in the season opener, we will dominate and blow out opponents!
Once again teams will tread with fear when they foresee the Raiders on their schedule!
April 27th, 2010 at 11:30 pm
I hope so if we send a lb a little more I think it will make a big difference. Atleast make the qb read the coverage and not just line up in cover 1.

Jerry,
Maybe you should put it to a vote on which current player should be on the banner.
My vote is for Z. Miller.

Cable is an idiot for moving Lamar Houston at DE. He is an animal at DT. How stupid can Cable be by keeping kelley at DT. He has been a big bust for years. Cut Kelly and move Houston to DT.
