First day in the books

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Friday, April 30th, 2010 at 6:18 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders concluded their second minicamp sessions Monday with minimal media intrustion, with most everyone bailing out ofter updating the JaMarcus Russell situation.

Defensive end Trevor Scott was not at practice, his place taken by Quentin Groves.

All media availability takes place before practice.

Practice highlights included a lot of snaps by quarterback Jason Campbell, some good, some not so good.

A couple of first impressions:

– Campbell throws some truly awful looking passes that still find their target, and find it with good timing.

– For a quarterback who is not supposed to be mobile, Campbell gets outside on a rollout pretty quickly.

– Defensive tackle Lemarr Houston and cornerback Walter McFadden, both rookie draft picks, had their NFL welcomes in the afternoon session.

Houston didn’t know he was supposed to be on the field, raced to left end, then had both his helmet and jersey ripped off in a neat move by right tackle Langston Walker.

McFadden found himself victimized in coverage often by a number of different receivers.

Those and other practice observations can be found on my Twitter page.

I dont mean to sound gaayyyyy but I think I almost busted a nut when I heard McClain said he asked for the playbook the day after he was drafted. It has been brutal waiting on JaPrecious and his next cheese burger. Thank goodness we drafted McClain.

For once, we sound like a professional football team from these tweets.

If JR restructures his contract , keeps his weight down, works diligently and puts in the extra effort, then he should be able to compete to see if he should be on this squad. Short of that, they should cut him. Based on my feeling you might think I’m a JR hater. I’m not! I’ve certainly been critical of his performance and effort to date but nothing would make me happier than for him to turn the corner and become a real NFL QB. On the other side of the coin, I’ve not seen the skill set or natural football ability necessary for this position. I’ve not seen the effort or dedication. There’s been nothing demonstrated on a consistent basis, other than a strong inaccurate arm, that says I’m the Man. Lastly, He’s demonstrated absolutely no maturity or leadership. I guess we’ll all see what if anything has changed in the upcoming days/months, maybe.

All Raider fans have earned the right to be ticked off at JaPrecious. However, it doesnt mean we wont be happy if he ever puts it together. I think we were wrong to think that Al Davis would give up on him right now. Al is one stubborn old fool and he will stick by him. Since Al is keeping him, I do hope that he only plays when he truly earns it.

Gotta run for now later guys…

We have a new QB in J.Campbell but every time I check the blog all I see is people still talking about JaMarcus Russell with the JaPrecious & JaMeatloaf names. Sound like a bunch of damn JaCornballs. Whenever someone says something anywhere near positive about Russell, they immediately get ripped on, yet it’s the JaHaters who cant get him off of thier tongues. Jason Campbell is the QB now Ladies & Gents. Glad to hear that Heyward Bey is making strides. Bey & Murphy is gona tear sh#t up now that they’ve learned how to run routes & catch the ball.

With QB Campbell, Raiders might improve greatly, surprise many
By Jason La Canfora | NFL Network

There were many teams that did many things during the draft to earn rave reviews, but few moves were more deft than the Raiders swapping a 2012 fourth-round pick to Washington in exchange for quarterback Jason Campbell.

In one fell swoop — for a departing asset still two years away — the Raiders found long-sought stability at the most important position on the field, and put themselves in position to wave goodbye to a player who has been an albatross through three seasons since being taken first overall. Campbell’s arrival should signal the departure of JaMarcus Russell (it hasn’t yet), providing a fresh start for both the Oakland franchise and an individual who never received the necessary continuity and infrastructure to succeed in Washington after being selected 25th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Raiders fans should rejoice. Campbell is no savior, and he has his flaws (a looping delivery, occasionally locking in on a primary or secondary receiver, absorbing too many sacks), but his vices are paltry transgressions compared to what Raider Nation has endured since the glory years of Rich Gannon.

    Associated Press
While he may not be a superstar, Jason Campbell has notably outperformed JaMarcus Russell throughout his career. Take a look at their stats:

    Campbell > Russell
    Starts Rating Yards TD/INT
    Jason Campbell 52 82.3 10,860 55/38
    JaMarcus Russell 25 65.2 4,083 18/23
Campbell is the anti-Russell: An over-working, über-diligent individual, who is dedicated to football 24/7/365. Campbell is the first to arrive and the last to leave, who considers bowling with the neighborhood kids a big night out and who’s constant accompaniment is a DVD of the next opponent.

Full disclosure: I am a Jason Campbell guy. I know this kid well, covered him for five years and have a very firm understanding of what makes him tick and the kind of person he is. I visited his hometown, Taylorsville, Miss., a week after the Redskins drafted him out of Auburn, meeting his family, friends, high school principal and teachers. He comes from a family of educators, who have a strong ethical and religious core.

He respects elders, eagerly absorbs coaching and conducts himself with class in all circumstances. He’s no saint, but trust me, he is exactly the kind of guy you want your daughter bringing home. You will not find a better individual in an NFL locker room. He gets it and he burns to win and always wants to get better.

Campbell was doomed by organizational instability, a dreadful offensive line and limited weapons in Washington. The staff and the system was always changing, with some trying to make him into something he never would be. He was always miscast in the West Coast-style offense the Redskins adopted in 2007, before they even had a head coach in place.

Campbell was drafted by Joe Gibbs to be a modern-day Doug Williams, married to the five- and seven-step drops, with a big arm that would play off a power running game with play-action fakes. He’s a strapping, vertical passer and game-manager.

All of those attributes fit the Al Davis MO. He fits the role perfectly. He doesn’t have quite the rocket arm that Russell possesses, but it’s close enough and without all the other warts and deficiencies. And, on top of all of that, Campbell has produced. Yes, it’s been spotty, but despite all that he lacked in Washington, Campbell has shined at times in a way no other quarterback on Oakland’s roster has.

For the first half of the 2008 season, he was efficient as anyone in the NFL. During those eight games Campbell was 6-2, completing 66 percent of his passes for 1,754 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions. He ranked seventh in the NFL in yards, eighth in completion percentage, first in interception percentage, fourth in passes of 25 yards or more and fifth in passer rating (100.5). The offense imploded amid a shortage of weapons, horrid protection and a waning running game in the second half, but Campbell flashed plenty.

Washington was dismal for much of the 2009 season as well, but consider what Campbell did in the second half of last year. He completed 63 percent of his passes for 1,941 yards, with 11 touchdowns, seven interceptions and an 86.3 rating.

I know football isn’t played this way, but if you combined Campbell’s first eight games from 2008 and final eight games from last season, you come up with a stellar “season.” In those 16 games Campbell completed 328 of 509 passes (64 percent) for 3,695 yards with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. That, folks, is good for a 92.74 rating, which would put him among the league leaders in any real season.

NFL ShopMore Oakland Raiders Gear >

Contrast that to Russell, who has thrown for just 18 touchdowns in his career, while tossing 23 interceptions and accounting for 36 career turnovers. Add that to all the stories of Russell being fined for being overweight or lacking fire or composure in the huddle. It’s a significant step up.

The Raiders, though 5-11, were not that far from being a competitive team last season. They had plenty of big wins and could have easily won some others despite shaky quarterback play. They lost two close games to the Chargers, another to Kansas City and gave the Ravens a good fight in Week 17, while beating Pittsburgh, Denver, Philadelphia and Cincinnati.

When you think about just how brutal Russell was last season — in his seven losses as a starter in 2009 (he was 2-7 as a starter), Russell completed 47 percent of his passes for just 731 yards with one touchdown, seven interceptions, five lost fumbles, 24 sacks and an abysmal passer rating — it’s amazing the Raiders accomplished what they did. If Campbell produces at close to his 2009 rate, I see the the Raiders being a .500 team or better, finishing second in the division and surprising plenty of people.

Oakland’s draft was smart and patient. It plays in a division that may be the weakest in the NFL. The improvement that Campbell’s presence instantly provides is a major boost. If nothing else, his ability to protect the football — of all quarterbacks with at least 1000 attempts from 2007-2009, his 2.2 interception percentage ranks fifth overall — is huge.

With Campbell there, the Raiders have the opportunity to stop paying for one of the biggest mistakes in recent NFL history. I would have parted way with Russell yesterday, and no way do I let the situation linger into minicamp Friday.

Cable or Hue said they are going to use more power schemes. Remember, zone or power are both in play on most teams. It is like m2m or zone coverage on D. Probably fewer ZBS stretch runs and more power runs with zone pass blocking.

    ——-

You mean the scheme that’s heavily relied on by the horrible rushing teams like the Jets and Panthers (#1 and #3 in 2009) or those crippled passing offenses like Houston and Green Bay (#1 and #7 in 2009)? Yep, the scheme is clearly the problem here based on the lack of success with other teams that use it.

Or maybe not. Maybe it’s the lack of talent in the system that can’t execute it. Since the data says that the scheme can and does work, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater and get away from Cable’s expertise. The team made moves to address the weakest links on the line in the draft, so let’s let that play out without changing another variable before determining the the scheme is terrible.

    In 2010 the Raiders

  34. Raiders4eve Says:

Campbell will be the starting QB week 1 when the Raiders play the Titans, I can guarantee it (if he stays healthy). You don’t trade for a disgruntled QB who wanted to leave the Redskins to start somewhere else only to be promised an open competition. Don’t make sense, he could have went to the Bills or any other team as his price was pretty much for free.

Campbell was promised the starting job, without it he wouldnt have signed an extension. JR fans are dreaming if you guys think JR will take over this team again.

Well, the only thing JR could do, restructure his contract like Gholston did, fill it up with incentives and hope that Campbell gets injured like Gradkowski did last year, anything less then that, that cat is cut.

  35. Kirk Says:

Russell will never be an NFL quarterback. He has no pocket awareness, and he doesn’t give a sheet.

He will be paid millions to back up Campbell because that’s the way Al Davis does things.

  36. RaiderFanFrom Jersey Says:

Russell is cool as ice, you have to give him that. He’s been criticized majorly (deservedly so) by local fans & media for most of his time here. Now he’s being called the biggest bust ever nationally – BSPN, NFL ntwrk, etc. Through it all, he’s maintained his cool. That is something he can hang his hat on if/when he gets the lead out when it comes to preparation & overall command he needs 2 have at the qb position. Nobody can deny his physical ability. He’s a 24 y/o kid that hopefully has finally felt the stiff kick in the pants that we as fans and the organization has been trying to land for 3 yrs now. I can see him humbled by this demotion/restructuring of role (& contract) & working on his craft like he shouldve been doing from the jump. I’m an optimist & want to see him (& the Raiders) turn the corner & be winners again. Jamarcus & this organization has it in them; its time to put the rest of the league/world on notice. Let’s Go Raiders! Wear that Silver & Black w pride!

  37. Kirk Says:

Jason Campbell was 41-66 in the Red Zone last year and threw 18 touchdowns with no interceptions.

  38. aig Says:

Look Russell is a young idiot. If he grows up at some point, then it’s all cool. Until he grows up, I’m going to be hating.

  39. RaiderFanFrom Jersey Says:

    Kirk,
Those are some numbers I can live with! & don’t forget he did that on a team just as weak as our offensively…Jamarcus needs to seriously take notes from this guy. Campbell can be that veteran leadership he needs that Garcia wasn’t able to provide. Difference here is Campbell is going to provide that leadership/example from the field. It can work! Ahhh, the blind optimism of the offseason; you gotta love it! :-)

  40. SteveAlford21 Says:

    Jersey,

JR is NOT cool as ice: He just doesn’t care. There’s a difference. He isn’t calm and collected, he’s indifferent. He knows that the free ride will be over if he doesn’t at least APPEAR to be putting in some work now, so that’s what he’s doing. Hopefully he will wake up and start doing all the things he needs to do, but that will take a LOT of hard WORK. I have seen nothing to this point that would indicate that he has the commitment, drive, and desire to get it done, but I am hoping for the best.

I would love to see him become an All-Pro QB for the Raiders and be a part of the team (as starting QB) that leads us back to dominance. If he doesn’t get it right with us and ends up being released, then I want him to drag down one of our rivals or be out of the league. If he screws over my favorite team to the point that we end up cutting him because he refuses to fulfill his potential while he is HERE, then I will wish him nothing but the WORST of luck elsewhere in the rest of his career.

I will support any effort he puts forth to get better while he’s a Raider, but he has done nothing to garner any respect or support for him as an individual outside of this organization. If he’s not on our roster, the lazy fatass can eat a 100×100 til he has a cardiac arrest for all I care. Hopefully he’ll prove all the naysayers wrong WHILE STILL A RAIDER… but until he shows me anything to justify any faith in his positive progression, I’ll be one of the naysayers. He has personally destroyed any belief I ever had in him.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must say that I didn’t want to draft him in the first place. Once he became a Raider, however, I wanted him to succeed and gave all the support I could… until he spit biscuit crumbs and bacon grease into the faces of every fan who believed in him, that is.

Almost pathetic reading some of you celebrate basically nothing.
You actually consider it a big accomplishment for a qb to complete passes to someone NOT defended? that it’s “AMAZING” to some of you?
Any of you EVER play catch with a football?
Did you find it amazing that you were able to throw the ball to where the other guy could catch it?
Of course not…yet now you celebrate that a “professional” (and I use that term lightly) who’s JOB it is to be able to throw that same football, much as you and I do, and complete passes, like we do, is now doing amazing?

Like a bunch of lemmings..thoughtless, mindless, easily swayed.
Same in saying ‘OMG…I MEAN..DID YOU SEE THAT? OH MY FREAKING GOD…DHB CAUGHT THE FOOTBALL’

Some of you are sad…big time.

Saddest thing? IS AL PROVED HE’S STILL AL ‘HEAD UP MY ASS’ DAVIS..where it’s damn obvious what should be done regarding JR, where fans actually start feeling good about the team, you make it clear you have NO INTENTION ON DOING THE INTELLIGENT THING…

In other words, everyone will continue to laugh at the Raiders, and Al…as they have all along.

  44. Chris in NY Says:

It seems pretty obvious to me that the Raiders intentionally leaked that story about JR getting cut. The way I see it Al and the Raiders figure JaMarcus’ career is in cardiac arrest. The leaked story, combined with the Campbell signing, is basically the defibrullator being applied to shock JaMarcus’ career back to life. It’s the last ditch, desperate attempt to bring him around. Might work. Might not. Kind of sad that the kid may need that kind of fire under him to finally perform but if it works and he finally starts to live up to his ridiculous potential I’ll take it.

  45. RaiderFanFrom Jersey Says:

I smell what you’re cookin steve but I’m trying to talk myself into giving him the benifit of the doubt. I have been @ the end of my rope w this kid for a while now but I’m happy to hear about a possible sense of urgency he’s come into minicamp with. I’m hoping his immature indifference can be transformed into mature “cool”. I can relate to being a naturally talented kid that’s indifferent who matures into a cool calm collected man with some bumps & bruises along the way. Learning lessons the hard way are usually the “stickiest” ones.

Wonder if Langston will be our starting RT. Seems like it’ll be between him and Barnes. Sounds like Cable wants to play Bruce Campbell at RG. Kind of doubt Veldheer is in the starting lineup right away. They probably want to groom him for the future considering he’s jumping from DII to the NFL.

  49. The Real MaddenRaider Says:

OK, Chris, so that’s their plan for Russell. How do they jump start the rest of the team?

    ———————

If you start to get good QB play your fortunes usually take a dramatic turn for the better. I still believe that if we had say Peyton Manning at QB last year we’d be 12-4 rather than 5-11. So I think they’re rightly figuring that good QB play will jump start us into being a winning team.

The other big changes would include riding Bush and McFadden in the running game. Mixing things up and hopefully improving the o-line. Counting on the extraordinarily young WR corps to come into its own. Hope Hue Jackson can finally get this offense going. Keep Cable in more of a traditional HC role rather than a guy who’s tackling a million different roles. Revive our return game which may have been the best in the league in 2008 and the worst in 2009. And hopefully mixing it up and throwing out some more exotic defensive looks/blitz packages.

  54. the_big_one_of_83 Says:

You mistaken, read my earlier post, no way in the world Campbell and signs an extension to backup Jabust. Campbell was promised the starting job, Guarantee.

  57. Raiders4eve Says:

    MR

What would you say if we end up with 8-8 or 9-7? I remember Arizona used to be a bad team and they went to the Superbowl two years ago. Anything is possible and you should hope so if you are Raider fan.

  58. Chris in NY Says:

I think Campbell is fully expected to start. But if JaMarcus restructures his deal and somehow comes out and lights it up in the preseason while Campbell struggles, they’ll go with JaMarcus until he flops. Again, I expect Campbell to start but it’s not written in stone. JaMarcus and even Gradkowski could still win that job. Campbell isn’t making outrageous money where he has to start. He’s making cheap starter/high backup money.

  59. the_big_one_of_83 Says:

if we can get that vetran wr problem fixed we are this yrs sleeper team

  60. RaiderFanFrom Jersey Says:

Peyton Manning is great partially because of his tireless preparation & work ethic. We could use a bunch of that. However, don’t discount the stability he’s had at OC & organizationally. That makes all the difference in putting your qb/team in the best position to succeed.

  61. Raiders4eve Says:

    Chris

Too many ifs there my friend. If JR who clearly stated today again that he wont restructure his contract until Anderson interfere in the press conference. Again, if JR plays better in preseason, another if Campbell struggles. Thats three counting while reality is clear, AL wouldnt have traded for Campbell and give him an extension and Campbell wouldnt have signed an extension and come to Oakland if he was to be a backup. He could have stayed in the Redskins and play behind Mcnabb who as everyone knows is an injury prone.

  62. Chris in NY Says:

If Schilens stays healthy, we get good production out of either DHB or Murphy on the other side and one of Ford/JLH/Nick Miller stands out in the slot — all of that in addition to Zach Miller’s presence mind you — we’ll be in good shape at WR.

    …………….

I would say, “Not that I wished death on Al, but it was perfect for him to die in August and leave the team to Madden just on time for the season.”

  64. Chris in NY Says:

    Raiders4eve,

It wasn’t up to Campbell to stay in Washington behind McNabb. He was traded. Doubt he would’ve wanted to stay anyway after feeling so disrespected for so long. He has a much better chance to play with the Raiders than he would’ve in Washington. And I fully expect him to start. I’m just saying if JaMarcus shows commitment and significantly outplays him between now and September he could still be our opening day starter. Yes, that’s a lot of ifs, which is why I still expect Campbell to start in Week 1 at the Titans.

AL wouldnt have traded for Campbell and give him an extension and Campbell wouldnt have signed an extension and come to Oakland if he was to be a backup. He could have stayed in the Redskins and play behind Mcnabb who as everyone knows is an injury prone.

    ——————————————————-

Jason Campbell was told not to come to the facility once McNabb was acquired. The Redskins unsucessfully tried to trade him for the last 2 months. They’ve been trying to get a QB to replace him for the last 2 years.

NO ONE ELSE WANTED HIM !!!!!!!

Your insisting that a QB would be assured a starting spot after what we went through with that last year is surprising.

You mean to tell me if Charlie Frye is the best QB on the field, Jason Campbell is going start?

If Jamarcus Russell is the best QB through camp, Al is going to start Campbell over his prized pet?

You actually consider it a big accomplishment for a qb to complete passes to someone NOT defended? that it’s “AMAZING” to some of you?

    ——————————————————-

    Yeah, Rich …

Figured you’d have a take along those lines.

Bottom line is Russell was no where near the National Enquierer reported 300 lbs, and was the best QB on the field today according to noted Russell hater Cam Inman.

I guess the real story is how did the other 3 QBs out there get outperformed by such a slug?

  95. jhill Says:

The quarterback that looked the best in Friday morning’s practice? Bulletin: It was Russell.

If that makes you feel queasy, well, head for that north goal post.

Russell was supposed to be gone thanks to last Saturday’s trade for probable starter Jason Campbell. Russell’s exit, three years after the Raiders drafted him first overall, would have been celebrated as “Raider Nation Liberation Day.”

Instead, Russell came out to play, and he outperformed the Raiders’ four other veteran quarterbacks, although incumbent Bruce Gradkowski is sidelined until training camp with a torn chest muscle.

“My thing is to keep coming out to work until they tell me not to,” Russell said. “Today I’m going to keep coming out, compete for the job, work my tail off.”

“Let’s not make something out of a ghost here,” Cable said about Russell’s often-questionable conditioning. “The kid’s working his tail off.”

    Cable, sticking up for Russell?

    From Cam Inman’s report

    Jay Schraeoder 50.8 Comp 4.1 TD% 3.8 INT% 71.7

I’m excited. Russell is just about even with Donald Hollas when you add in JRs fumbles. If Eddie Anderson keeps babysitting him, someday, with a LOT of work, he may reach Jay Schraeoder level. Won’t that be special?

    Who mentioned weight?
Again, is it a major accomplishment that a professional athlete, in a CONTRACT YEAR who’s been made clear he’s likely on the way out didn’t gain weight?
is that supposed to be impressive?
The fact he was already a fat slob, and didn’t gain more weight isn’t exactly a noteworthy moment.

so what you’re saying is Russell did good playing catch, with no defenders?

    Well…I’m sold.

    Yeah…that’s easily worth 35 mil.

    Where do I sign?

  100. Richochet Says:

Like it or not, Russell is STILL the worst starting qb, in the league, in both of his full seasons.

how odd is it that some of you think that after YEARS AND YEARS of throwing the ball, badly, that now, all of a sudden, he’s now the guy? He’s now going to go from worst to first?

    I’ll say it again…playing catch? I’m easily a 95% passer…easy.
Doesn’t mean I can handle a 350 lb guy barreling in on me…

Nor does it mean Russell can.

Admit it..some of you want the smallest thing to hang on to..considering how long you’ve backed this “slug”. How long you’ve made excuses. How long you blamed everyone but JR’s lazy ass.

Point is it’s catch, nothing more, so why make something out of nothing, considering JR’s last 3 years?

Called setting yourself up for a fall…big time.

Peyton Manning is great partially because of his tireless preparation & work ethic. We could use a bunch of that. However, don’t discount the stability he’s had at OC & organizationally. That makes all the difference in putting your qb/team in the best position to succeed.

    ——————–

Guess what one of the biggest drivers of stability is in terms of coaching and systems in professional sports? Time’s up. It’s success. While that’s usually measured in wins, it’s also measured in progress occasionally despite wins.

In Manning’s case, it was pretty obvious right out the gate that he was something special. Even though the wins weren’t always there (Indy defense was really bad before Dungy arrived) the offense was potent. No need to fix what ain’t broken, so they kept the OC and system in place and refined it around Peyton.

Contrast that with the Raiders. The offense has been inept ever since the end of the Gannon era. They couldn’t find the same kind of QB to replace him with when age caught up to him. While Impatient Al was messing with the mix of players, he also kept trying to fix the problem by changing the coaches and the system all at the same time. To me, that’s been the biggest issue. You need to pick your leaders and a system and then build your personnel around it.

The good news is that we’re seeing some continuity with Cable now. It started when he was OL coach and installed the ZBS and then started to tailor the run game around it. As HC for what will be his 3rd season (counting fractions) we’re starting to see him put his signature on the players that he needs to run the system. If this season brings noticeable improvements over the last few, then we can hope that Al will leave it alone and let it grow from there.

So yeah, had Peyton landed in Oakland there’s a good chance that we would’ve seen more stability in OCs and systems as well. Even with Al.

  104. Zymurge Says:

And for the record, a No. Cal team did take him a “trophy” just last year. The Sharks won the President’s Trophy, awarded to the team that “wins” the regular season with the most points.

Other than getting them a new banner to hang in the rafters it didn’t them much good though, since I assume that the gist of the question was around championships and not just trophies. Instead, they were handed a first round knockout in the playoffs.

But this year is looking better. They’re up on the Red Wings 1-0 in the second round. Right now I’d say that they are the Bay Area’s best chance to for a championship in the immediate future.

Sharks in 2010, Raiders 2011. That works for me!

It’s not Cable…it’s basically anybody but Al.

See, since Gruden and Allen left, Al has, year after year, made some of the dumbest decisions on the planet, both in FA and during the draft.

This year were basic no brainer common sense picks. Nothing astounding, just basically what 90% of teams would do at that time.

    There in lies the mystery.
Hard to imagine Al getting a lobotomy.
However what is easy to imagine is that each year Al is losing it, more and more..and maybe he’s gotten to the point even he knows he can’t follow along, and is taking advice…

What? Your ignorant ass didn’t know that??

Let me say it again…THEY’RE PLAYING CATCH. It’s tantamount to flag football defense..no one is worried about getting hurt, because no one WILL GET HURT.

Now is when you post something that ignores the fact you just got beyotch slapped to the ground, again, and say something juvenile about “oh, why are you hurting my widdle feelings instead of out at the skate park with your kids?”

jerry mc said veldheer and cambpell looked a lil lean to make an immediate impact this season…better start hanging out at in n out burgers a couple times a week..

    ——-

That’s easy to fix. You always seat these two on either side of JaMunchass in the cafeteria. They take turns stealing food off of his tray. This helps the team in several ways:

    1) Puts more weight on our new, “lean” OL prospects

    2) Keeps some weight of Russell as he both loses food and burns calories trying to defend the attacking forks

    3) The rookies learn how to read and react to each other, starting the jelling process early for two key cogs of the future OL

    4) Teaches JaClueless how to feel the pressure. He may not notice the pocket collapsing on him, but I bet he definitely has an inner clock ticking on how long he can keep his back turned from a blindside biscuit snag attempt.

No flareups in his Siberian exile known as Buffalo, as far as I know. He’s always been a helluva worker. Raiders WR’s very young and raw.
While I love Chaz’s potential, he hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

Actually was reading it this morning in the paper about coach yelling at players “BLACK MEANS DO NOT TOUCH”..which in this case was D line coach yelling at a Niner player.

Quote” In the nightcap of the veteran-rookie doubleheader, it was clear the there was still some learning to do. When a defender made contact with quarterback Jarrett Brown – a no-no – defensive line coach Jim Tomsula bellowed, “The black shirt means do not touch!”

During camp, when it’s really hot, lots of teams go to light jerseys, and either black or red for qb’s.

Crabtree has revealed to his advisor, aka his cousin, that he has no intentions of playing for Coach Singletary after the coach made him cry in front of everyone within earshot (true story). LMAO
Bottom line: Crabtree is a little b1tch and he knows it. I bet he cried when he wasn’t voted prom king in High School. What is he a woman? His own clothing line? Maybe if your name is Serena Williams or Jay Z. Who wants to wear anything that says “Crabtree” on it? B1tches do…
