Murph will have the most recieving TD’s.

if he can hold on to the football and run good routes.

chalk those up to rookie mistakes though. the kid really has some potential

We need two reliable WRs. T.O or Laveranues Coles. I dont mind bring in also Adewale Ogunleye, he could do the same damage Burgess did the first year as a Raider. Chester Pitts and Mawae are also players who could help this team. Brad Hoover a FB who opened lanes for DeAngelo Williams is also a player I would like to see this team get. We need some veterans in this team, the rookies are gonna need time to adjust, if we going to play Seymour as fulltime DT then we need a solid DE, Ogunleye has a good track record.

I don’t really care about Cooper Carlisle and hope he gets cut, Walker, Barnes and Campbell are good options but I would like to see Pitts compete with them as he is a natural ZBS player. Mawae is a must have in my opinion, Satele is pure garbage. Laveranues Coles is a number 2 wrs and cheaper younger then T.O. T.O wants $5 mill, is he worth it? I think so, we need touchdowns. Coles can be reliable Wrs, Schillens is one injury away from being in the injured reserve. We need a WR and center, those two are must have, the rest is a good addition.

Did you talk about this schit yet?

CBS2 in New York reports that Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor has been arrested for rape.

According to the report, Taylor is accused of beating and raping a 15-year-old “runaway from New York City controlled by a pimp.” The alleged incident occurred early Thursday morning at the Holiday Inn Holidome Hotel in Suffern, and charges are expected to be filed once police complete their investigation. Though the original LT has a long history of drug abuse and other brushes with the law, this is still a shocking report. May. 6 – 11:02 am et

You ever get pulled over for no reason? I’ve been given the DUI test and passed 5 times. It’s demeaning. My brother is a teacher who doesn’t drink or smoke got pulled over across the street from the school he teaches at while a cop searched his car. Doesn’t look good when your students walk by and see that. You don’t mind the law because you’ve never been racially profiled and never will

I am all for getting TO, Coles, or both for that matter.

However, Al believes in the talent of the young guys he’s selected and he is going to let them have it.

An injury might force his hand, but then the asking price will go up.

    Tonga Talks About Raiders Camp
    by Quinn Gooch Analyst

    Written on May 06, 2010

Manase Tonga made a nice impression this past weekend at the Oakland Raiders mini-camp. In fact, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report earlier this week, the former Cougar looks to have a good shot at not only making the team, but even starting at fullback for Al Davis’ squad.

“I definitely got the impression that the spot is wide open,” Manase told Deep Shades of Blue. “That was the thought of the two veterans that were at the camp as well”.

Tonga, a rookie free agent, may have the upper hand on both veteran Luke Lawton and Marcel Reese. Lawton is currently serving a suspension for violating the NFL’s drug policy, while Reese is a converted wide receiver who saw action in just two games last season. Another veteran fullback prospect Oren O’Neal was recently released by the Raiders. Chase Moline, another rookie free agent fullback from UCLA was also in Oakland’s camp last week.

Tonga says that it was a bit surreal during the first day of camp as he donned the Raider uniform for the first time. “The first day I was getting taped up next to Darren McFadden, then later on I was out there catching passes from Jason Campbell. After the first day though it was just playing football, I wasn’t really paying attention to who was out there on the field with me. I was really impressed with the players at camp, how humble they were and how ready they were to go to work. It kind of shocked me, I was expecting to see a lot of ego but it wasn’t like that at all.”

Prior to the draft last month, Oakland was one of the teams that showed interest in Manase who grew up in nearby San Mateo and starred at Aragon High School. “So far it’s worked out,” says Tonga. “It’s a good place, a good situation and it’s close to home. Nothing is guaranteed at this point though, I still have to work for it.”

Tonga says he is excited that his dream of playing in the NFL is within reach and that he is thankful for the chance to wear the silver and black colors of the one of the most storied franchises in sports. “It’s just an honor. I’m privileged to put on the colors of some of the greatest players to play to the game. This organization has given me the opportunity to live out my dream. It’s just an honor.”

As Tonga arrived at camp he was able to reconnect with a couple of friends, a fact that made last weekend a little easier for the rookie. Former Cougars David Nixon and Todd Watkins are both Raiders and gave Manase some insight and advise about how to make it in the NFL. “It was good to get reacquainted with both David and Todd and spend some time with them. They showed me the ropes and stressed that it’s a business now. They told me to approach it with a business mindset, to work hard and give the coaches a reason to keep me around and not cut me.”

Tonga is continuing to work out and work on aspects of his game that Raider coaches want to see him develop further. His quest to make the NFL resumes May 18th at the next Raider mini-camp.

McClain alone will make this defense better.I think We should add another DT, but it’s not that important.

DTs: Seymour, TK, Bryant, W Joseph, and Heard.
DEs: Houston, Matt S, J Richardson, and Scott/ Groves on passing downs.

    That’s a good DL.

Darrius Heyward-Bey, receiver, Oakland: Prior to the draft, Oakland coach Tom Cable — who is known for his unbridled enthusiasm — told reporters that they’d be amazed to see the progress made by Heyward-Bey, the surprise No. 7 overall pick in the 2009 draft. He said Heyward-Bey had made great strides from a disappointing rookie season. However, Heyward-Bey didn’t appear to make huge strides in Oakland’s minicamp. He was improved, but he still had several drops. His hands are his biggest issue and it seems he has not fixed that problem. It’s obviously early and Heyward-Bey has plenty of time to make strides in 2010. But it doesn’t seem like he’s quite ready to take the next step.”

Coming from BYU’s spread, almost shotgun-only offense, I can’t imagine Tonga has much experience being a lead blocker or has even lined up in the I other than short yardage situations. He still may be a great blocker, but it is all new to him.

He is pretty nimble for his size and can catch.

I am eager to see him in preseason. We know what we have in Reece and Lawton, and it isn’t much.

The insight into the world of Al Davis was fascinating.

Not one of these guys spoke ill of Al, yet none of them defended his way of doing things.

It is a shame that Al has fallen into the trap of the modern definition of insanity; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
