Hello fellow Raider fans from Ottawa Canada, my first post here so thought I’d introduce myself. I’ve been a Raider fan over 30 yrs, this day comes with mixed feelings for me. Sad to see the Russell experiment, which cost the franchise so much, reach its final conclusion. I you can blame all fronts on this one; AL for not surrounding him with the tools to succeed (namely a good offensive line), JR for not taking advantage of his skills and taking his talents to another level, and the signing rules which allowed an unproven player to demand such a huge salary. At the end of the day I think we should be happy though, it seems like the organization is making sound moves to stabilize and grow, and it gives us hope that cutting Russell is hugely symbolic of cutting our loses, learning from mistakes and moving forward.

Al must have had a stroke, but instead of hurting him it blocked off oxygen to the portion of his brain that caused him to be stubborn to the point of hurting his franchise. That is the only explanation for this move and the recent draft….

…well, that or Hue Jackson has shown him the light.
