Joint statement from NFL and NFLPA

The following statement was released through e-mail by the NFL and NFLPA:
The NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association have resolved a dispute concerning the Oakland Raiders’ off-season workout program.
As a result, the parties have agreed to cancel two days of the Raiders’ off-season program (next Wednesday and Thursday, June 16 and 17) which had previously been designated as OTA days. Raiders’ players are not permitted to be at the facility on those days, but will be paid for the sessions. The club cannot reschedule the cancelled OTA days.
Note: The announcement of the OTA dispute regarding the Raiders was announced following the media availability period. Will pass along any Raiders comment, if one is forthcoming. No word as yet if next Tuesday’s OTA session will be open to the media since the Wednesday session was canceled.

ROMAC doesn’t have Raider speed. We knew that when we drafted him. Why is he covering WR’s? I remember Kirk Morrison trying to cover Brandon Marshall in the redzone last year too. Guess how that ended up?
and Kirk did have speed and decent cover skills. DC John Marshall needs to quit this or we’re gonna be calling for his head during the regular season. it’s bad enough that we suck against the run!

hopefully in a four reciever situation they let the lbs bring the heat and the safeties lay some wood, sounds like a third & long sitation to me so a 7-8 yd completion would do no more than pad stats.

they aren’t competing for return duties. Ford was brought in to be KR/PR. JLH will be WR and a backup option for Ford at PR
Cartwright & Figurs will compete for the KR duties to be shared with Ford. you always have 2 guys back there. I’m sure a bunch of the unknown or unproven WR’s & DB’s would like a crack at KR/PR job too, if it gives them a shot at making the roster

Actually the UAW has been unionized in America building cars since the 1930’s. They have been unionized at Ford Motor since the early 1940’s. Lower end workers MUST have the right to bargain collectively, and I am more a management type myself, but I still recognize that right. And BTW, my family has a cherry red 66 Mustang 289 with about 30K miles on it they bought brand new. Sweet ride.
