Isn't it?! Can't stay long... First...RIP Jack Tatum. A great Raiders legend, and a much kinder and approachable man than his on-field image would ever let you know. Seymour's got a lot of leader qualities, in addition to his ability to play up and down the line. He's one of the best, and he wants to prove it. Seymour could become a Raiders legend late, ala Alzado back in the day. By almost any measure, Al Davis GOT IT DONE this off-season. Time for the guys on the field to do their parts -- but we gotta remember that we'll have YOUNG PLAYERS all over the field...and young players make young-player mistakes. The value of seymour is his ability to play tackle and end. This means he flip flop with the ends, and platoon with the tackles depending on down and distance. Also there obviously has been a plan at work as early as last year, which is why scott was playing elephant last year, and we brought in more hybrid types through free agency and the draft this year. lets also not leave out the way marshall used mm 34 in that wolverine package! This is going to be a pressure defense and there will be know way for the offense to know where the heat is coming from. hendu will stuff the run in base looks on 1st down, and most second downs, but on 3rd its a crap shoot. 3rd down seymour moves inside, shuagnessy, and houston coming off the edge, wimbly and scott busting through gaps or, scott coming around the corner like charles haley. Houston and seymour are the key, because depending on where they line up they force mismatches, and limit backs and tight ends that are forced to stay in for extra protection. makes a perfect match for shut down bump and run secondary that everyone loves to complain about.
