Raider life depends on AL Davis backing off and letting the coaches do their jobs so the players know there’s accountability. Marshall & Jackson need to be given 100% control through T Cable. We can win!

Wonder how much JC will play in the preseason opener?

I hope it is more than what they did with Jamarcus last year. We need to get this offense moving, to hit the ground running week 1.

Almost a full-half the first three games should do it, unless he and the offense looks real good the first 2-3 series, than maybe you can ice it.

    Good Morning Nation,
If your read Monte Poole’s article, you will find out that the stench on his comment section comes from none other than “Madden Raider” aka M.R. aka other alias.

    Part of his dribble:

    1. “Good article, Monte.

Re: Team’s record in Russell era vs. Team’s record in the 3 years b4 Russell,

I’ve been saying the same since Russell was cut, over at Jerry McDonald’s blog (where I’ve since been banned, deservedly, I’m not complaining. lol).

    2. “Sure. It’s not Al’s fault…he’s not on the field….etc. Until, of course, the Raiders win. Then you’ll be giving Al credit for every single facet of the team.

    3. “Al Davis doesn’t even belong in the NFL Hall of Fame. He’s a fraud.”

We were AFC Champs just 7 years ago. That is much better than many other teams. (The 49ers haven’t won a conference championship since 1994). I guess it depends on how you WANT to look at it.

I WANT to think positively about my team, and life in general. I know there are plenty of negatives I could be dwelling on – that is called depression – good luck with that.

  53. BigTed707 Says:

    Dude,
Do you think it is true that J-Russ actually improved the Raiders in his three years here, compared to the three years before?

I think the truth is: we were rock bottom before he got here, and he didn’t help us get any better.

I think the acquisition of John Marshall is one of those positives that Dude requested I point out.

  55. Just Fire Baby Says:

  57. Dude Says:

LOL @Big Ted. Sorry bro, my mood/life dznt revolve around the Raiders wins or losses. Good try though. Funny as hell that you actually harkened back to SEVEN years ago! Notice how the number keeps growing, making it more and more pathetic a argument, yet Raider fan keeps using it. I mean, pay no attention to the fact that the history books will show that no team ever had a more pathetic stretch of losing than the one that the Raiders are currently in. 72. Dude Says:

His track record as a head coach in Oakland and Tennesee have nothing to do with USC. I thought he did some good things with the Raiders and when he was at SC as a coordinator. He has a good staff and good talent. With Masoli being gone, it opens the door for a title.

  97. Bob Marley Says:

    Snb makes a good point.

Paul Hackett must be thrilled that he got a QB who is willing to put in the work to get better, now we can get the most out of one the best QB coaches around.

Not to mention Cable will not be calling the plays…

  99. Just Fire Baby Says:

I’m sure they want either Nick Miller or Ford be the FT punt AND kick return guy.

No sense having one guy only return part of it. JLH’s days as a return guy seem numbered, so he better be productive in his limited time in preseason.

Sticking with my initial claim that JLH and THoward won’t get much run in the preseason. If the young guys look ready to replace them without much or any dropoff, they will be cut. If the youngsters don’t look quite ready they will stay.

But it is almost out of their hands at this stage.

  100. Thec07 Says:

Vegas, agreed… JLH will be allowed to focus strickly on WR… I hope he steps up as the vet he is. 2008 he had a good season… From the way the report I saw about chaz we may not be counting on him… That said it is going to be crucial that JLH steps his game up…

Standard concussion procedure, whatever that is.

  106. Bob Marley Says:

We should have brought a vet to camp to compete and mentor the young kids, right now Schilens and JLH are the the most exeperienced WR’s out there and they have combined for just 91 career receptions and can we really count on Chaz and his bad foot? I doubt it.

Maybe Kevin Curtis if healthy, the former eagle who missed most of the last 2 seasons with injuries, he’s the only guy available who has put up decent numbers in the past.

I would have liked Laveranues Coles but the Jets signed him a couple of days ago.

  107. raiders22 Says:

    BEAUTIFUL!

Denver Broncos running backs Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter have both been injured on the Broncos’ first day of training camp.

Moreno was carted off the field after hurting his right leg Sunday, and Buckhalter injured his left leg minutes later.

About an hour into the workout, Moreno caught a pass in 7-on-7 drills and turned upfield when his leg buckled. He grimaced as he hopped into the team’s headquarters for tests.

Buckhalter hurt his leg about 10 minutes later during the same drill and limped off on his own.

The Broncos traded veteran running back J.J. Arrington to Philadelphia on the eve of camp. They had no immediate word on the extent or nature of the injuries to Moreno and Buckhalter.
