McFadden-Bush; practice update link

The media is scheduled to meet with NFL officials for their annual presentation on rule changes and points of emphasis this afternoon before practice.

In the meantime, check out what NFL scouts have to say about the relative merits of Darren McFadden and Michael Bush in a story in today’s Bay Area News Group publications.

Practice starts at 3:30 p.m., Pacific time, with live updates available on my Twitter page.

A post featuring news, notes and quotes will come this evening . . .

    What’s the matter, Rich-O?
You got no use for a cornfed half-wit, with no discernable skills whatsoever. I am an educated dummy, though. I have a dusty ol Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Comm.
I wanted to be an ink stained wretch like Jerry when I grew up. That, or an astronaut.

As if you can’t tell I’m a frustrated sports writer by my ramblin posts. Comma splices and run-on sentences be damned.

    ‘Sup Rich-O?
Sorry Bro, No offense. Just assumed. You ain’t been around much, lately.

Hell, I thought you just got back from a deep sea fishing/golfing vac. That’s right, you own your own business. Must be nice. Hiring, btw?…JK.
    No biggee..

Did go on a fishing trip with son, but golf is mostly local. This one was a family vacation.
Jhill and I did have an exchange regarding Pebble Beach, but that was his trip.

Your point about the WR’s taking pressure off Miller is a valid one. I like the Raider WR’s. They are just young and unproven. The reports on DHB are very encouraging so far. But, as you’ve said before he needs to prove it when they start firing live ammo.

Chaz, Who I really like, and who has shown flashes of being very good in his limited action, is starting to worry me. The guy needs to show he can stay healthy. Some bodies just can’t withstand the rigors of pro football.

I hope his injuries are just a fluke thing that goes away. But, there is defenitely cause for alarm.

The girls are safely tucked away. Just grabbed the last cold beer outta the fridge. Lil missy is on her way home from work. She’ll probably be pizzed I wasted the whole day away in front of the computer. But, today I’ll probably get a pass.

About time to call it a night.
    Have a good evening fellas.

Former Florida Safety John Curtis, 24, Reportedly Commits Suicide
8/06/2010 12:09 PM ET By Hal Spivack
Former Florida safety John Curtis reportedly has committed suicide at age 24, according to the sports website http://www.onlygators.com.

Many former Gators and friends of Curtis have tweeted their respects.

One player who took to twitter right away was Cleveland Browns rookie cornerback, Joe Haden. Haden, the No. 7 pick in this year’s NFL draft who played with Curtis at Florida, tweeted, “U never know how much u truly love someone until they r gone!! R.I.P John Curtis #24! U will be missed!!!!”

Curtis was a special teams specialist during his time in Gainesville. He played on the Gators’ scout team in 2004, sat out 2005 with a knee injury, but was able to play for the team during their 2006 national championship season.

He saw action on kickoff return and punt teams in their title run.

In 2007, he blocked a punt against South Carolina but tore his ACL in 2008 that eventually ended his football career.

You better hope you are not in the same crappy zone I am in.
Vegas got lots of west coast games. I get every AZ game and the crappiest matchup left on the network table that week. Lots of dungver games.
