If Raiders had been better at cashing in on field position, they’d have 40 points.

You would think paying for that NFL Network would give you access to the Preseason NFL feed.
That NFL Network is practically worthless….listen to “Favre Watch” and get 30 minutes of live content a day.
But then something you would like, feeds for a freekn preseason game…and they want $40 extra dollars to watch practice.

Gradkowski is a better #2 than Boller as he is the perfect type you want coming in in the middle of the game.However,if JC goes down for an extenuated time,Boller would probably step in as the starter.

I’m watching game on Bears (Chicago) tv and they are fawning all over Forte and his big run. The guy interviewing him on the sideline intro’d him as “the man of the night”; said he made a tremendous cut that made the play happen.

It’ll be interesting to see if Grad’s can hold on to that 2nd spot.
What concerns me though is our receiving corps. Schillens seems to be injury prone, Heyward-Bey is…well…Heyward-Bey, and Murph, although good at times, lacks consistency. Looks like we’ll shopping around, but who’s out there? Holt? Bryant? Suspect. Very, very suspect.

People say pre-season doesn’t mean much, but for THIS Raider team I think it does. I think they NEED to get in the habit and feeling of WINNING more than other teams.
Looking up at the scoreboard and seeing your team on top; for a team that’s been on the opposite end for so long is good and actually means something.

But I would be fine with Murphy and JLH out of the gate.
I gotta see DHB catch some passes. I haven’t seen that yet…in his 13 months with the team

Dominated all phases. The 89 yd TD run sent a shiver and reminded me of Morrison…but man, Campbell looked legit. Hope he can survive a season with that O line. Morris got him killed right off the bat last week and with his first appearance this week.

To suggest in ‘almost’ any way that the Bears looked good out there you have to be high on something. The only thing you could say is they looked good at times on defense. They looked like the confused Raiders of past years not even being able to line up properly and burning timeouts.
I know you all remember that! Moreover, you could even argue that they were almost as bad as the Raiders of past but “masked” it will a good print on the box score – even as they were soundly beaten all 1H.

Those referring to the 06 preseason are way off base. In those games our starters would get beat and our reserves would make up for it. This pre season our starting D has looked good and our offense has had a lot of injuries but still looks much better than last year. Mario has been mistake free for the most part. Veldheer and Big Bruce will play earlier than expected IMO. Routt actually looked good against the piss poor Chicago wr corps. Maybe his best spot is on the outside as he has said so frequently. It does seem that CJ would do better than Routt against the quicker wr’s that usually play in the slot.

This is the best the team has looked in all 3 phases of football since Gruden was here. Simply referencing Gruden because that was the last time we were competitive, so relax Gruden haters.
The offense is going to continue to get better as the starters get back in there. JC doesn’t look like Plunkett, but he does look like a real QB. He’ll look even better with Chaz, DMac, Bush, Miller, Murphy, and JLH all available bullets for him.
