Raiders inactives as reported from Nashville: RB Michael Bush, LB Travis Goethel, CB Walter McFadden, WR Chaz Schilens, DT Desmond Bryant, WR Nick Miller, G Bruce Campbell.
No surprise in Bush being inactive. We’ll find out next week whether his being on the field this week was more of a charade or legitimate progress to being able to play in Week 2 at home against St. Louis.
At that point, he’ll have had 20 days since surgery to insert screws into his left thumb.
Those who were wondering how close Bruce Campbell is to unseating Cooper Carlisle at right guard have their answer. Apparently, despite his size and speed, the Raiders haven’t found a use for him on special teams, either.
Nick Miller has been on the Raiders 53-man roster for 16 weeks (he was placed on injured reserve last year for the final week) and been inactive 16 times on game day. Goethel (lower back), Schilens (knee), Walter McFadden (hamstring) and Bryant (elbow) have been injured.
Kyle Boller has been designated as the third quarterback.
