Pears cut, Brown signed off practice squad

Stevie Brown made the roster after all. It was simply a week late.
The Raiders released offensive lineman Erik Pears, re-signed Monday, and promoted safety Stevie Brown from the practice squad. Brown was released in the initial cut to 53 players, but only after he believed he had made the team and was even interviewed by the media about it.
There were unconfirmed reports Brown was cut by Davis over the objections of the coaching staff, who would have preferred the seventh-round pick over second-year safety Mike Mitchell.

Gentlemen, it’s coming. The greatest Raiders forum is about to launch. As I have said, I will keep you guys posted.

each year there are 2-3 guys who try to get us to ‘their’ forum, that said, I applaud your effort..

makes you wonder if the raiders had some idea that another team might have been sniffing around brown and they just decided to cut a substandard o-lineman and thus protect a player they prefered and is cheaper. sure makes for a lot of d-backs on the team. god, when was the last time a 7th round pick got this much cyber ink?
