No surprises as practice begins

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, September 23rd, 2010 at 1:06 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Left guard Robert Gallery, wide receiver Chaz Schilens, linebacker Travis Goethel and defensive tackle John Henderson were not present as the Raiders went through warmups and drills before practice Thursday.

It was the second day in a row Henderson was not present because of a foot injury. Coach Tom Cable said Wednesday Henderson missing practice was a “precaution.” Henderson, wearing a protective boot Monday, said at the time it was a non-issue and that he would play.

Stevie Brown was back on the practice squad Thursday after clearing waivers, while linebacker Quentin Scott, a rookie out of Northern Iowa, was also added to the practice squad.

Scott is 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, very fast and can also play safety.

Slade Norris, a fourth-round draft pick out of Oregon State in 2009, was released from the practice squad.

More to come . . .

I hope MBush sits this one out, personally

give that busted thumb another week to heal.

We might need him next week facing DeMeco Ryans, Mario Williams & Amobi Okoye!

McProBowl is doing just fine … give him another 30 carries

    another bonehead move by management!

Norris & Brown are both good special teamers

Cable is 10-20 since replacing Lane Kiffin, a tenure that has been spent entirely on the proverbial hot seat. Rumors of a rift with Davis are constantly on ESPN

    win = cable as mvp
    ——–

If Cable wins against Arizona he’s on track to be the best coach since Gruden.

  14. 8RaiderReign8 Says:

I might be wrong, but I believe Cable has had the best win pct. since Gruden.

  15. Kirk Says:

You can’t win without a good quarterback, and we haven’t had a good quarterback since Gannon.

Gradkowski at least gives us a chance to win.

Glad Stevie Brown is back on the practic squad!

    Got lucky he cleared again…..

  18. Kklutch Says:

Glad to see Stevie back on the practice squad since all he does is make plays. Then he plays against tenn and blows someone up on special teams… Then gets cut WTF.

3 reciever set with N miller a couple times a game wouldnt be a bad idea either…

  19. djohnnyg Says:

Stevie Brown is a player. He’s a guy who will be around the ball. You saw it at Michigan and saw it in pre-season too.

Nobody has ever satisfactorily answered why Hiram Eugene is on the team. What skills does he have? Anybody have any ideas? I don’t get it.
