Final: Cardinals 24, Raiders 23

Sebastian Janikowski from 32 yards out . . . he missed it again. That’s three.

Arizona did everything it could to give the Raiders the game. Raiders wouldn’t take it.

Much more later in a painful postgame wrap . . .

As heart-wrenching as this game was, I watched the Dallas-Houston game and Houston is very beatable. I’m as disappointed and angry as the rest of you, but things will look better in the morning.

  • ColoradoRaiderFan

I like how Cross tried to cover up his brainfart by saying he likes to play is “conservatively” and let the defense get it back.

That’s one of the bad aspects of watching the Raiders, always get the worst teams calling the games. Cross’s partner could be the worst announcer ever.

yeah next week we will win hue will throw the wildcat at them and they wont know what hit them….

  • ColoradoRaiderFan

Spiro commented the Raiders were without their starting fullback Luke Lawton.

  • I am Spartacus

That Spero guy was indeed an imbecile, but at least Cross was far less obnoxious than he usually is. Probably because the Niners were already 0-3 by that time.

TC is an idiot! The Evil Kenevil of coaching. At the end of the 1st half, if DMAC had NOT made the TD, the clock would have expired b/c there were no more timeouts let and raiders would have not scored! If that was the OC’s call; The head coach should have had the wisdom to veto that very stupid and risky decision. Yes, he lucked out and DMAC scored but that was NOT smart coaching.

The 58 FG attempt was another stupid call BY THE HC. That missed field goal was a changed the momentum. They should have kicked for the coffin corner. That was another of his high risk (low probability) calls!

    FIRE TOM CABLE !!!!!

janikowski was over 90% from that distance. if you think cable should have took a shot in the end zone then you’re an idiot. I can’t even listen to some of you fools. They cards were sendin the house that entire series. Why would you risk a sack, penalty, int, or fumble when your kicker is gonna make that kick 9 out of 10 times. NO ONE in their right mind would pass that up and you all know that.

    ^^^^^^^^
If they were bringing the house, then guess what…you run a screen to the RB so he gain more yards to make the kick easier for JanoShankski!

Or you call a QB bootleg!

as long as bob won his parlay things will get better in the win column.

Priest, what reason did the Raiders give for drafting Jano 10 years ago? Do you remember? Something having to do with how many games they’d lost by 3 or less in the previous couple of seasons? And that what justified drafting a kicker in the first round was that he would be a sure thing in these clutch situations?
    —————

That is EXACTLY why they drafted that POS. How many times has he done that? Hmmmmmmm.

He’s a loser plain and simple. He gets millions to do one thing, and he’s a total failure at it.
He can go staright to hell and none too soon.

Jano Crap Ski is a fat, drunk, loser. He should have made an EASY kick but he choked like the pathetic keilbasa eating turd he is.

The Polish army performed better in World War 2 than this piece of crap polack does.

Thanks for ruining everything this team worked for you gutless excuse of human excrement.

  • weaselbit

Seebass just sat there on his knees after the miss
    long time
and it was Fitzpatrick, not a Raider, who lifted him up

He’s not real popular right now

  • I am Spartacus

I think Cable is giving HJackson too much of the benefit of the doubt in running the offense. Jackson is proving to be inept.

  • priesttj

If they send the house at that part of the field it’s exactly what you want single coverage and if it’s not there you throw it away, a SACK isn’t even in the cards the QB can’t hold it if it’s there hit it if not send it to the cheap seats. It’s simple John Madden did it all the time. Sometimes it worked.

  • 2sense

    DKnight,
they did run a screen to mcfadden earlier that series and lost 4 yards. There is no reason to run a play when your kicker is over 90%. No coach would have made that decision. Only idiots on this blog apparently would.

  • 2sense

make the kick easier? he was freakin 90%

Spatacus,..you really think it was heart wrenching?…lol…good Lord man,…I can promise you the players dont feel it was heart wrenching. Im real.

You can hear Cable distancing himself from any involvement in the play-calling during his Press Conferences.

He wants no credit for how it has gone.

POST 538,TJ,nailed it! Tough loss but we have all seen worse! I think all players on the roster should see action during the pre season, period! x5

  • djohnnyg

His name is synonomous with crap. People should say “Hey, I haven’t been regular lately. I haven’t had a good Janokowski in 2 days”. Or- “You should have a look at the Janikowski I just took before I flush it”.

  • ColoradoRaiderFan

Hmm, let’s see. 90% versus “sometimes it worked.” I think SuperBob the parlay winner would take 90%.

I would have taken a shot at the end zone because they weren’t expecting it. You have to do the unexpected to succeed on offense.

Plus Jano had already missed two field goals aready.

  • 2sense

    Priest.

you have to get outside of the tackle box to throw it away. Hard to do when their blitzing from the outside. Yeah your right. Take a shot throwing it into single coverage. Maybe a jump ball or something. That would hold a much higher probability of success than a 90 % FG from the middle of the field. I’m sure you would have made that decision.

Even when a team like the Cards was giving them the game to win!

    Holy Toledo!?

We will see what Cable, Hue and the whole team is made of next weekend at home versus the Texans!

Will they fight or give up?

What is up with Richard Seymor? I saw him on The 5th Quarter show. Wimbley was being interview by Kim Correl and Seymor comes out of the locker room smiling from ear to ear. He adjusts Wimbley’s tie, laughs and states to Wimbley that he needs to know who Wimbley’s taylor is? Then walks off laughing. No evidence of loser’s remorse. I can’t say I blame him. When you have The Three Stooges acting as a HC, OC and ST, that is a funny joke! Better yet what is wrong with me!! I was sick to my stomach after the loss but now I am O.K. with it.

  • DKnight007

    Jets going for the kill!!

Like what the Raiders should have done today!

  • riderm

Here’s the deal with Jano…every time he trots onto the field for a field goal, he HAS to make it. Plain and simple. A miss is not acceptable. 45 yards out…make it. 22 yards out…make it. 58 yards out…make it. And for the love of God…32 yards out for a game winner, MAKE IT!! That’s why he’s the highest paid kicker in the league. Anything else is not acceptable.

    Arrrhhhggg!!!

  • sirblitzalot

Excuse me, but does anybody know what Hue Jackson’s winning percentage was in Baltimore? Yards per game average?

    GOOD EVENING NATION
well, what can i say??? the raiders FIND ways to lose!!!!
there re a few bright spots from todays game, altho i will admit they are hard to see…
look closely,,, dmac is the real deal, imagine what he could do behind a good line…
murphy is the real deal as are rich seymour, zach miller, dan loper, shane lechler…
it is easy to see who must go,,mario flat out stinks as does his daddy… the raiders were poorly prepared. three timeouts in the first quarter?? i went to three pop warner games saturday that were better coached on both sides of the ball.
cable has NO CLUE.. he’s in way over his head…
jano must have been out drinking last night..and tell me again why he didn’t need to kick in camp.. it all boils down to the guru. send his azz packing along with the cupcakes on the line (m henderson, c. carlisle, and l walker..) johnny l higgins? ??? you can’t possibly think he is a good punt returner.. where is nick miller?? and j ford can’t seem to get into high gear….

Speaking of the Forty Niners. Their HC should have given his teams props for nearly beating N.O. Instead he tar and feathered them thru the media. The result speaks for itself. They were NOT flying around busting heads like last week. They played like the losers they are. As far as Crabtree? What a talented pile of dukie squash. Singletary had a whole different approach at today’s post game news conference: He gave his team credit for the way the played today, after today’s loss. I think he should stay in S.F. he is doing a fine job.

  • GalacticGus

I think that they should have gone for another play on third down to get a close chip shot knowing jano was not having a good day.
