Halftime: Raiders 20, Cardinals 17

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, September 26th, 2010 at 2:57 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Looks like the Raiders might have to exceed Tom Cable’s 24-points-per-game goal if they want to win this one.

Darren McFadden already has 74 yards rushing and 18 yards receiving. Bruce Gradkowski is 8 of 17 for 126 yards and a touchdown.

One thing the Raiders have going for them _ the Cardinals don’t seem to realize they are having a pretty easy go of it on the ground. The more Derek Anderson throws the ball, the better the chance the Raiders go 2-1 for the first time since 2004.

Penalties . . . I assume that will be a topic of conversation with Tom Cable tomorrow. Says Cross: “That’s past inexcusable.”

  • Cornbread

Ok, forget it, don’t fire Cable…I’m just going to off myself after the last false start pushed the FG try to almost 60 yds.

58 is a lot to ask _ but that’s what they pay him for.

  • beach

Why would you ask that slob to make the kick from 58 yards?

  • djohnnyg

Still the dumbest team in America

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

Not sure I’ve seen a team as determined as the Cardinals to keep the opponent in the game.

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

Plenty of time _ now can they protect or does it end with a sack/fumble or pick?

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

On the bright side, Chargers can’t cover kickoffs.

  • Cornbread

    what happened to the play-calling?

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

It just wouldn’t be Zach Miller if he didn’t get drilled after a catch.

  • Cornbread

    Re Leon Washington – LOL

  • beach

These running plays are bothering me. No room for DMAC to do his thing!

  • beach

2 minutes. You can do it, Bruce, if given some adequate time!

  • Hot Shot

Rams were such a bad team but they beat the Redskins.

Cardinals had that screen swallowed up . . . one more shot at it.

Clutch completion by Gradkowski. Don’t know what Randy Cross was talking about. Couldn’t kick it away.

  • Cornbread

This game, everything about it, is making my skin crawl…know what I mean?

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

Wow. DHB speed pays off in the biggest way right there. Biggest play he’s ever made and he didn’t even catch the ball.

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

    Start running it.

  • Cornbread

    Wow.

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

    Might get McFadden under 100 . . .

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

No way he misses another one.

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

Like the way McFadden is securing the ball.

  • Cornbread

Please, fake the kick and let Lechler run it in. Please.

  • http://www.insidebayarea.com/raiders Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer

Kick this and get out of town, thanking both the lord and the Cardinals.

  • Cornbread

I hope you are right. That would equal the number of misses from all of last year.

  • beach
