Report sheds light Johnson’s ankle

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Friday, October 1st, 2010 at 6:42 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Tom Cable said he’s certain Andre Johnson will play Sunday when the Raiders host the Houston Texans.

An AOL Fanhouse report suggests Johnson’s sprained ankle is serious enough to be getting special treatment.

Namely, “platelet-rich plasma therapy.”

Not sure what that is other than what I just read in the above link, or how effective it is.

But if I’m the Texans, it’s Week 4 and I’m playing the Raiders, Johnson is taking the week off.

I think it’s very premature to say that Grads is better than Campbell. So far he is performing in this offense much better but to say he’s a better player overall is at this point unfair. Grads is still learning and growing he has a penchant for very serious mistakes. He plays the game a bit too error prone for my taste.

Campbell has shown in his career that he can be very productive and he’s very good in the redzone over his career. IMO he just needs to get comfortable in this system and on this team. Time will tell if he or Grads is the longterm answer.
    ——————–
Is Campbell the more gifted athlete? Probaly. That being said my question is how long do we wait? I genuinely feel the Raiders need to do whatever they can to get some wins now. Some may say to see the big picture and I respect that. I definetley see the big picture and I am smart enough to know that if you put together a winning program other things start to fall into place, like signing good free agents and not having to overpay for them. Players will actually want to come here. I can give several more examples of what winning now would do for this franchise but I’m sure you get the point. My Question is how long do you want to wait for Campbell or anyone for that matter to get this thing turned around? If Grads wins games as much as he sends my blood pressure thru the roof with his up and down play I say stick with him. As a Raider fan I just want to see a W at the end of the day!

  • Jmackraider12

i wont answer questions that arent relevent to the actual issue that is being discussed..how many starts, or how many teams or pro bowls does not apply to a player who hasnt been a constant starter his whole career.. Those are dumb questions..and are not relevent to bruce gradkowski and more importantly US FANS right now…

  • Dude

By the way, your boy has more pics than TDs in his career.

  • Dude

Yep, thats kind of what I thought. Good effort tho bro. LOL!!

  • Jmackraider12

yeah and most of thoughs stats came from his rookie year in tampa were he started most of the games that you see on his all time record…i didnt need effort to reply to your translucent stupid questions..

  • Dude

    bucs,browns,rams,raiders, who was the 5th?

  • Jmackraider12

obviously your goal is to point out every last bit of information that would prove me wrong, and proving gradkowski is cowpoo, but YOU, cant judje a players skill set from a bunch of years that have no pertinance to the argument, “”"Is gradkwoski good enough for the oakland raider fans to place hope into right now..and judging from his play WITH US in the past..THEN YES, he is good enuogh right now cuz he proved he can beat good teams with OUR TEAM, NOT THE BUCS OR RAMS OR BROWNS… Thats the issue, and i think more people then not take my side in that argument RIGHT NOW…

  • Dude

    Texans

  • Dude

PS- Love, love, love a guy who refers to the team as “us”. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jmackraider12

Bro you never even made it to the minors lol, ur like the half retarded guy that sends in tapes of his 4th grade bball team and still lives with his mom at age 30..and is so intent on proving everybody else wrong cuz u have no friends..lol..and yeah i do refer to the raiders OUR TEAM, has us, cuz im a fan..

  • Dude

Tried out and didnt make it?? OK. thats a plus for him! LOL!!!!!

So he would have played for the Texans but he couldnt
make the cut. Ok. Got it. My bad.

“Hey man, he never played for the Texans bro. He tried out but couldnt make the cut. Take that dude!” LOL!!!!!

  • priesttj

Listen if Grads continues to get better and win games who wouldn’t want him for the starter. I think what peple are saying for the thousandth time. Is can he continue to win games? if he takes chances with the football like he did vs the Cards I can gaurantee you the answer to that is NO!!

Hrads has to learn and play better, if he does he has a real chance of keeping that job. But the way he played vs AZ wont cut it longterm in fact I doubt he”l keep the starting job more than a couple of weeks. It’s up to him to get better or he’ll get benched………….period

  • Dude

Oh yeah, Gannon never played a pre season down for the Pats…

    ————————-
Why the Raiders lost to the Cards

    1)Special Teams, Jano 3 misses & 102 yard K.O. return TD
    2) penalties
    3) questionable play calling

Grads did not make or break that game, he made plays when he had to and put his team in a position to win. It’s not his fault that his polish counterpart decided to stand around on the sideline like a useless mule instead of practicing on the sideline for what would have been a game winning kick.

  • Dude

    Did he win?

  • Jmackraider12

Agreed Priestt, but, would we even be bringing that up if janikowski makes the FG. Ill admit he didnt play his best and i was gettin pretty pissed myself during the game, but on the final drive when it counted most, he delivered(3@9 and 4@10 converted) and got us in FG range(and if there is no PASS-INTERFERANCE on DHB that could have been a TD, that DB literally saved the game)..but ill take a guy who plays shaky and conducts game winning drives all day, just like he did against cincy last year and just like he did against PITT Both way better teams that the ZONA team we played last week..riddle me that

  • Jmackraider12

He was drafted by them and was on their official roster HE WAS ON THAT TEAM..

  • Dude

I must have missed the answer…. Gradkowski beat the Cards??

If he plays he will burn asomugha all day now wen the texans play the broncos the true shut down corner champ bailey will shut him down the way poor nnamdi culdnt evn dream of!!!!

Chimp 24 and Chump Bailey sounds more appropriate to me.

  • Dude

He was NEVER on their roster.

  • Dude

His rights were traded before he even signed a contract. But why let facts get in the way of a good story, right?

  • ArmChair GM

Grads was trying too hard last week, that’s all. He was too geeked up and trying to be the hero on every play.

But he’s a stand up guy.

I like Jason Campbell as a person. He’s a humble, personable, stand up guy too.

I wish the best for both of our QB’s as individuals.

When Campbell gets his shot again, hopefully he sees the kind of energy and on the field leadership that is needed to become a consistent winner.

  • Jmackraider12

Naw, i have a life i didnt research that in the last 5 minutes to get my jollies off, u were wrong about grad being on the texans chimp, same deal..saying grads finsishes his carrer with us as back up or starter, thats still 4 teams each for gannon and him, once grad gets traded or signed by anothet team you can ay you won the argument..

  • Dude

Raider fan. Not Raider kool aid guzzler’

  • Dude

Yeah I know…Grads never played for the Texans. He wasnt good enough to make the club. He was for all intents and purposes cut.

  • Jmackraider12

hahah..u claim to be a fan but i have yet to hear you say one strategic/hopeful/rational thought, that a fan would contribute to a blog of indeed his favorite team..do you have anything to say but negatives? Cuz if you dont your not a real fan…

I agree that I want more out of him as far as consistancy and overall decisions. BUT, at this point I’ll take my chances with the guy who seems like he is really giving his all out there and wants to win, as opposed to the guy who checksdown enough to not lose but not win either. Think about it, a guy who plays on the edge will lose some games for you, but I believe he will win more than lose in the long run. It’s a long season, let’s see how this plays out. As I said before I just want a W at the end of the day. If for some crazy reason J. Campbell comes out like a madman lighting it up, great. I say he should have been fired up in week 1 of all games, instead he looked like a zombie. How can you argue with that? It’s not like it was week 10 and the Raiders were out of the playoff hunt and he was beat to a pulp, what’s his excuse for being so lifeless?. The reality is it was week 1, how do you not get pumped for a season opener for your new team. Don’t you want to prove people wrong among other things? I challenge you to give a logical arguement defending Campbell’s lack of inspiration to say the least. Humor me please. Like I said If your not up for week 1, well I don’t know what to say. His actions or lack thereof spoke volumes.

  • Jmackraider12

Gannon didnt stay with the patriots cuz they wanted to convert him to a DB, so i guess that makes him bad too? Maybe grad was cut cuz he didnt fit kubiaks system? Do you know that has well?

  • Jmackraider12

    or im sorry *not signed

  • Dude

Funny hearing a guy who thinks Grads is the second coming of Rich Gannon using the word “rational”. LOL!!

  • priesttj

Trust me my friend even if we were to win that game Grads would be under scrutiny by astute fans and coaches because the game shouldn’t have been close. In fact I think Seabass saved his butt by not making that kick and bringing the focus on him instead of Grads.

Coaches do not overlook the mistakes he was making even if he wins. Because they know he’s not performing well. He cannot play like that and continue to win games. No more than someone that runs into the street in traffic constantly will eventually get hit. He has to play better………period

  • HairyBush

    *with

  • priesttj

Now having said that I think Gradkowski will play much better this week. He knows that the coaches were not happy with his play. Wether the fans and the media realize it or not, you can bet the coaches had a long conversation with him on being more careful with the football.

  • Jmackraider12

Dude, find the post were i specificly said that “grads was the next coming of rich gannon” and i will admit im wrong and that your the smartes football analysist ever, ok?

Or you could find the post were i said grads is like a gannon type comparing their film study habits..

  • Glutten for Punishment

i remember reading stevie brown tried out for NE, did he sign?

  • Dude

Youve used Gannon as a comparison during your whole argument. Dont try and slink out of it now that youve gotten f’n detroyed. Thats what a beetch would do. Well, if the shoe fits……

  • Jmackraider12

Priestt, Seabass saving grads but?? wouldnt you think a Raider win would bring a good focus on the team and grads? we would be 2-1 and instead of talkin 2-2 we wuld be talking a possible 3-1..and that would bring up negative talk of gradkowski??Isnt our team modo JUST WIN BABY, ill take the “w” buddy.
