yeah we could have tradid for boldin or grabed TJ but TO is having a great year

  • J Hill

    Look RRS …

Sorry you’re all up in arms because I admitted I was wrong about Huff. Bauce and Raider O were right, the guy sucks.

And Armond is a solid poster on this blog. Top 10 imo.

You said he was a class act, and I agreed with you.

    What’s the problem?

People seem to forget that Wilfork was the initial target from day 1.
    —————————

Wouldn’t that be something if we had him in the middle?

That’s why I keep telling folks it’s still a work in progress.

Al identified the need for a run stuffer. NE wasn’t willing to part with Wilfork who was about to sign his 2nd contract (the big one) but was comfortable letting Seymour go cause he wasn’t as essential, a bit more long in the tooth, and (most importantly) didn’t want to give him the crucial 3rd contract.

    Al will though.

Point is, Al knows the O Line and NT are positions of need. For whatever reason, they didn’t like Cody who is apparently in the Wilforkian mold (no jokes about it breaking lol) so he got Houston to replace Ellis’ production.

I think Houston will turn out quite nicely. Had a chance to watch him at UT when I was hanging out in Austin last year. Good motor, real firey type dude.

Cable said he wanted the 4 guys already off the board when they took McClain at 8.

The top 2 DTs and top 2 LTs.

Now, we don’t have a 1st and I doubt we trade back up into it or trade more of our picks AWAY for players this year, so Al will make the best of his 2011 draft rounds 2-7.

Let’s not forget free agency either.

Al did grab Henderson which was a great move.

  • J Hill

    RRS …

Didn’t you post some stuff about a black farmer and farm equipment?

I remember some other stuff too that was pretty outta left field.

Either some trolls you from time to time, or …. well …

  • LA to TheBay

    Huff should play nickel.

Shadow the slot guy and occasionally blitz.

    He’s being misused, IMO.

    Exactly!

Al wanted Wilfork, but he gets crap for not drafting the fat guys some of the other semi pro’s wanted.

    Oh well …

  • LA to TheBay

I think a lot of these players are out of position really.

    Agreed.

But CJ37 has moved ahead of Huff IMO. I’d like to see more of Stevie Brown too.

Huff is a FA after this year, and he can walk as far as I’m concerned.

  • LA to TheBay

Yeah I honeslty thought it would be McClain then Cody and he was there for the taking.

I was a bit surprised but was OK with the Houston pick.

This should really be a 34 team.

It just may be next year if we get the all-important piece.

    Scott/Wimbley OLB
    McClain/Goethel MLB/WLB
    ShoNasty/Fat Guy/Seymour

  • J Hill

I say we trade Campbell and Grads for Manning, Chaz and a 4th for Reggie Wayne, Zack Miller for Gates and Bush for CJ2K… oh yeah Huff for Polamalu as well.

    ——————————————————

    LOL!

  • popcicledrip

yeah al did try to fix the dline hederson was a great move but he really made a big move to fix oline I kind of thought that big john was going to go down quickly

    —————————————-
I’m sure he will unless he seriously lights it up.

He’s decent in a cover 2, but problem is QBs just go after Branch’s side.

I’d like to see more of Stevie Brown too.
    ——————————-
He’s this year’s Nick Miller. We haven’t really seen enough of him to know he’s that good, but you can just feel it. Looked great in preseason. Him and Wimbley were preseason MVPs.

  • LA to TheBay

I don’t know about Veldheer and Campbell. They were smart 3rd and 4th rounders as projects.

You’d hope they get the more polished guys, but as none were available, they took the best on the board.

Something REALLY needed to be done after the draft to get an established guy or two.

Okay, so my fantasy team was just boned by the bye week.

For my #2 RB spot, so I start Danny Woodhead, Jason Snelling, or pick up Julius Jones?

All of those options kind of suck…

    Agreed!

I had to roll with Brandon Jacobs & Jonathan Stewart as my RB’s last week and I still won (beat Plunk)

    LOL

started Kenneth Darby & Cadillac Williams last week too (in a different league) and won that game as well. those guys netted me a total of like 4 points. pfft

    That’s rough.

The worst part is, Fred Jackson FINALLY becomes a starter, and his bye week comes up. Thank god Ray Rice has started coming around for me.

I think I’m going to go with Woodhead. Should be a big part in the passing game without Faulk around, and now that Moss is gone everyone else should see the ball more… in theory…

what was the worst offseason move we made all year I think it was the trade for groves

What did DHB do in last Sundays game aginst the Chargers?

  • RaiderRockstar

YA: I feel your pain man

    last week scenarios

#1 Mendenhall & Ronnie Brown on bye weeks. Pierre Thomas OUT injured

    subs = Jacobs & Stewart

#1 Justin Forsett & Benjarvis Green-Ellis on bye weeks. Clinton Portis OUT injured

subs = Darby & Caddy Williams

    Ooh damn, that hurts.

Although I’m glad I’m not the only person who has Forsett as a starter. Why the Seahags don’t use him more is beyond me, he’s by far their best runner.

Nah a 5th rounder for Groves wasnt a bad move. Making him a LB may not have been a great idea, but it wasnt a bad trade.

    the entire draft!

we had a fine MLB in Kirk Morrison and fine DE’s in Seymour & ShoNasty

we needed 1 nose tackle and two OT’s that weren’t projects!

    Henderson & Walker? really?

rookie LT’s converted to play center & guard? really?

a kick returner in RD4? those guys are dime a dozen! look at nick miller! louis rankin is still a FA too!

  • http://www.wix.com/GGEden/ggeden GG

DHB didnt do anything wrong, Campbell just didnt throw his way, he was open or one on one coverage and Campbell just didnt go his way, Campbell doing the safe options to Miller, which is fine when you need to keep the chains moving.

And Gradkowski and his sore shoulder threw a pass to DHB on a hitch route that hit the ground like 5 yards short of DHB.

DHB is often just running go and hitch routes, with a safety creeping over in cover that side. Whilst Miller runs seams and in routes, and Murphy runs a variety of routes.

Boller could be good for DHB and Murphy. Campbell is good for McFadden and Miller. Gradkowski healthy is good for Miller and Murphy.

I don’t see him being productive until the coaches expand the routes they call for him. As long as the majority of his attempts are vertcal routes, he’s going to be a non factor.

    new post Armond Shields lubbers!

  • popcicledrip

we are getting better but you can tell we are still playing like a bunch of highschool kids we are not getting the ball to wide recivers are safteys are getting destroyd In the passing game getting run over in the run game you could have mistaken our secondary last week for a division 2 school against boisestate I know rivers is great but come we half to stop beating are selfs in games its killing us every game

  • BenRaiderfan

BenRaiderfan – Grads latest injury was caused by him taking risks. What can you say…the guy has a heart bigger than his body can handle. He shouldn’t take on defenders like that. He’s already proven himself already as a balls to the walls kind of guy. As for your insult about him putting on a skirt. Come on, man. Really? You’re gonna call out a guy that lays everything he has out there on the field? Look, I agree with your point about not anointing him the next Gannon before he does anything but you need to back off with that. Grads doesn’t slide butt first with nobody within 5 yards.

Fact is, Grads is the best option right now. Need proof of that? The head coach and coordinator both agree he is the starter.

JC did a pretty decent job coming off the bench and didn’t make any mistakes. But he still has to work on getting the ball downfield.

    *******************************************************

Look guy, you’ve got it wrong. First of all, that’s not heart. That’s a career backup taking whatever chance he can to keep his job. Like coming in injured when he couldn’t throw marshmallows. It’s not fire and desire and all that crap. It’s a guy that saw his chance in Houston ripped to shreds when frigging Craig Nall stepped on the field. He got his shot with the Bust stinking up the joint and he made a good run. But he’s as fragile as porcelain and he’ll crack whether he runs into a linebacker or a pillow. And whether he has this heart or not, he NEEDS to beat a damn good defense if he’s going to be a QB in the league. Troy-less Pittsburgh and Cincy do not count for that. If he’s half as good as half the people say, he should have owned the Cards and Texans because their defense were begging for a buttkicking. The Cards gave him 5, yes 5 starts at the 38 or greater in the first half. How the hell do you think he got 20 points in the first half? Bet you thought it was that fire and energy? WRONG!!!! It’s playing on a field that 40% smaller than a normal football field. Don’t believe me. Look at the second half with normal field position. How many points? 3. Geddddouuuuuuddddaaheah. Let him prove it before you say it.

  • BenRaiderfan

Debo, those TD drives when we needed them most were solid, no doubt. But saying that Grads is 0-2 isn’t fair at all. First off, while he didn’t start the Rams game, clearly…CLEARLY…he was a big part of our turnaround in the 2nd half. Using the term “starts” is a technicality that you’re throwing in there just to make sure his record start with a 0. As for the Arizona game, look I’m not one to make excuses but dude. Come on. 3 missed FGs? Let’s get real here, Debo. The team was in position to win with a gimme FG at the end. Let’s call a spade a spade.

    *******************************************************

What turnaround??? We won by two points, we were down by 4 points. That’s 6 points. Look at Campbell’s drives in the first half? Cable goes for it on fourth and one (money on the ground but we walk past it). Jano missed a field goal and we kick a field goal and interception and a three and out. That’s it. That’s what I hated about the Cards game. The same thing happens (4th and one miss and missed field goals) and everyone is saying poor Grad. Meanwhile he didn’t score a point in the 3rd quarter just like the Texans game and no one says anything.

Obviously, JC has started slow in all three games he’s been in. If he had been with the team a year, I’d be concerned but not for a new person. After beating the frigging Bolts, there’s no way anyone can convince me he couldn’t have beat the Rams. He’s the only QB who’s led two back to back TD drives this season.
