Al needs to retire. He already hired a good coaching staff. Hired Gruden in ’98. By 2000 Al was running him out, drafting kickers in the first round, to let him know who’s boss. He’s determined to not let another Gruden happen anyway. That’s why the Kiffin thing went down the toilet so fast. Al can hire a good coach today. Kiffin all over again.

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ The Real MaddenRaider

Bob, I asked Brien what kind of car he was in, without having ever said what kind it was. He described it, right down to the bumper. So, it’s one helluva coincidence then.

  • Norco Bob

    Lol,..as I said MR,..we got a laugh at your attempt,..what do you call it?…baiting?…nice try though,…anyway,..Red Hawk dude…I have 2 for 1 drink tokens!

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ The Real MaddenRaider

LOL. Alright, Bob. All I know is this. I ask Brien what kind of car he was in. Couldn’t think of a better litmus test. I hadn’t described the car at all. He describes it right to a “t”. So what’s up with that? Color, make, model, whole 9. So, at the very least, whoever posts as “Brien” on this blog was in that car at the tailgate on Jamestown street.

How can a pro defense not be able to run a freakin zone??

    LAME!

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ The Real MaddenRaider

DKnight, that’s part of it. It’s just the overall atmosphere. Coaches have no control. Players come here knowing they don’t have to work. The only ones who do are the ones who are either driven to succeed or the ones who really want to be in this league a long time. You’d be surprised how many NFL players today are just spoiled brats who don’t see past today. Heck, that attitude had worked for them to this point.

Bill Romanowski to be on the pip squeak, Jim Rome radio show @ 10:30ish A.M. PDT,..

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ The Real MaddenRaider

I know you couldn’t imagine it, but if you were to have a beer with Mike Shannahan and get him to open up about what things were like behind closed doors at the Raiders, the last thing he’d mention is the coverage shell they use. It’s much bigger than that.

  • http://Noknuckleheads! 909RaiderLifer

Romo’s mainly going to talk about Goodell’s continued pussifcation of the NFL..

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ The Real MaddenRaider

And players like Romo are part of the reason for the strict policy. I’d rather them interview a real football player and known hard hitter, like George Atkinson, Ronnie Lott, or Ray Lewis, than some roid freak like Romo who just took out his racist rage on the field. Asking Romo about NFL’s policy on hitting is like asking O.J. what he thinks of murder laws. He’s the reason for the rules.

You know I hear you guy’s criticise our players time after time after time. Saying if they were not here they wouldn’t start on any other team in the NFL. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read that crap.

You all say Mr Davis dpoesn’t know talent, then those same players that get roundly criticised by you guy’s go to another team and START.

Gerard Warren must have been vilified in here a thousand times along with Mr Davis not knowing how pick DT’s that can play the run (SnB). I’m watching Gerard Warren play NT for the NE Pat’s right now as a starter but he wasn’t good enough to start here based on the GM’s in here.

Just another example of all tidal wave of BS that goes on in here of which these wannabe GM’s. Now DT’s we have now are the worst in the league they’re the reason we can’t stop the run. Same ol same same ol crap. I’ve been saying for years that you stop the run with your entire defense running to the ball and staying true to the defense (gap control). The most important part of run defense is tackling. Getting the guy on the ground…………period

Your DT’s are just the focal point they aren’t what makes your run defense great, it’s the entire defense. That’s what makes a great run defense.

  • priesttj

I thought Gerard Warren sucked at NT well he looks good now.

Former Oakland Raider OL Rich Stephens is challenging a local Missouri police officer to a mixed-martial arts cage match. Stephens, who played for the Oakland Raiders in 1995, claims that police officer Tim Walker kicked and shoved Stephens during a recent arrest. Stephens has placed a large sign on the back of his pick-up which reads, “What is Short, Fat and Round all over? A Byrnes Mills Cop!” Stephens, 6’7″ 315 pounds claims that he wants to sell tickets to the possible MMA event and donate the proceeds to charity. A local television report attached below claims that all local police cars are equipped with dash mounted cameras and unless Stephens files a formal complaint against the police officer, there will be no investigation into the alleged assault.

Goodell sent out notification today to all 32 NFL teams that the rules regarding unecessarily violent, leading with your helmet, and helmet to helmet hits will be vigorously enforced and possibly result in a suspension.

He considered saving the postage and not notifying the Raiders since no one on that defense hits anyways, but changed his mind at the last minute.

Ahh for the good old days when Tatum and Atkinson were a ‘criminal element’ that instilled fear in the opposition and the Raids would be the first team getting Goodell’s notice.

They made such a ridiculous deal over these hits this weekend.
I didnt see Harrisons hit on Cribbs, but his hit on Massoquoi was legal, not Harrisons fault that the receiver “ducked” into him. He should have been fined for that hit.
Robinsons hit on Jackson was visious and devastating, but not illegal. Robinsons facemask was buried in Jacksons shoulder. He shouldnt be fined.
Meriweathers hit on Heap was dirty and he should have be ejected for it.

  • DKnight007

Al Davis sucks, Tom Cable sucks, Jason Campbell sucks, Priesst sucks and Norco Bob sucks!

    ===========================================

There’s some truth to what you say.

Nonetheless, I’m still going to say that Tommy Kelly is a subpar DT getting paid way too much money, and I find it hard to believe he’d start anywhere else.

True that a good pair of DTs won’t guarantee a strong run defense, but it sure is a good place to start when building one.

And while some here are guilty of blasting or underrating Raider players, the reverse is also true.

And guess what Preist ? You’re a prime example. None of the regulars here will ever forget you defending JaMoron to the bitter end and insisting he’d be a great QB.

Who’s JaMoron starting for now ?

… – On the last drive last week although Campbell played terribly he did hit Ford right between the numbers only to have the ball clank off of his chest like a Shaq free throw off of the rim. …

    ———————

True. Awful job by the rookie on that play, but come on, the offense wasn’t going anywhere all day. That would’ve been another one of Campbell’s patented 2-yard pass plays and there was nothing to suggest we’d score, convert a 2-point conversion and win it in OT at that point.
    ———————————

Also, true. There wasn’t anything to suggest that we’d come back and win but it doesn’t mean that we definitely without a doubt wouldn’t have either. As long as they weren’t getting blown out and were with the ball with time left there’s usually a shot.

Remember that there was nothing going on to suspect that Frank Riech would lead the Bills back from 30+ points down at halftime.
