By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer

The Raiders are contenders. No other way to spin it.

Have writing assignment for Sunday papers, I’ll check in later with post-game wrap.

    Teabag,

The team has been in every game except week 1…even the games where they didn’t play well..

Are they back at being an elite SB team? Nope.

Are they a team that can compete for a playoff spot…based on the 1st half of the season I would say yes!
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I agree, the Raiders are in the mix for the AFC West… PROVIDED they beat the Chiefs next week… I don’t know what context most people use “WE’RE BAAAAAAAACKKKK!!!” in… Back to what?

    2000 form?? not a chance…

When they are IN the playoffs… then I will say “We’re back”

  • Chef Sac

DHB dropped that 30 yard gimme in his gut but made up for it on his TD grab. He could’ve fallen after the first hit but plowed through.

Be nice to see him step up from now on…

  • Mistabr0wn

Another miserable week for KKKell & RMR.

    :D

  • Just Fire Baby

    What have you won Mistic?

What did I win when I said Campbell would be benched halftime of week 2, in July?

    Not a damn thing!!!!

I have no beef with any players, unless they aren’t producing. When JC, DHB and Hue weren’t producing, I wasn’t happy, because we weren’t winning.

You seem more happy with “winning” whatever it is in here, than when we won against St. Louis, when you spent all week blogging in all caps about how we should have lost.

  • http://Raiders4Ever.com 860Todd Christensen

Chef Sac, we play the Chef’s next week, I’m sure their Brass is made of Lead! And their really small? Do you have an insight for us Raider Fans who have Brass ones that extend to our knees?

  • DKnight007

Stevie Brown should have also had a TD, but once again the blind ref blows his whistle prematurely.

Stevie Brown…once again making plays baby!

D Bryant has fell off the face of the earth where is that guy ?
    —————————————————————————–

He had a really good game blew up at least 3 run plays in the 2nd half.

  • Just Fire Baby

I guess my offseason prediction of Tom Cable getting COY votes might be picking up some steam.

  • 707raiders

I was at the game, it was nice to see the defense play so well, we should have won this game by much more imo. Too many field goals and missed opportunities in the red zone. U am glad we won don’t get me wrong! Big UPS to DHB! The turnout was weak, we need more people in the stands supporting these guys, if ur a so called real fan I expect u to be there next week, go Raiders!

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ Al and his minions just own me

I don’t know about the name teabag but I agree with you where football is concerned. Every time we go into that potential 3rd straight win, we always turn back into the old Raiders. We win next week, I promise I’m done talking s’t. I always said 3 straight wins.

  • Chef Sac

I’d recommend we try not to trip over our own brass on the way to a 24-12 thumping of the Queefs.

    Sound good?

  • Roch R

Great game but I have to say….

The Zebras were terrible again, and I know we’re the Raiders and blah blah blah, but seriously…

The down by contact call on Stevie Brown was BS

The catch by Tate when he rolled his ankle wasn’t in, I was dying for Cable to throw the challenge flag, his second foot hit his rolled over foot…

But what gets me the most and is a constant annoyance is THE SPOTTING OF THE BALL

At the 12 min mark of the 4th qtr, on a seattle 3rd down, the ref is walking down the line (DOWN THE LINE) then makes a diangle bee line for the first down to mark the ball….

It looked like he was drunk, and did a sideways shuffle.

It’s constant, its blatant, and I hope someone in the front office ques up the film and mails it into the league. Week after week.

But Great game, total D dominance!

  • http://Raiders4Ever.com 860Todd Christensen

    Chef, good to me! lol

  • SnB Production

Al Davis gets the blame and he gets the credit…Just like Jerry Jones said about himself in his presser.

Al, your vision is starting to come through….

Keep finding ways to get the receivers involved like today.

The offense looks very good when we get wide receiver performance….Zach Miller only had 1 catch today…and the Raiders put up 33…nice

  • mistic1

When you throw a rock into a pack of dogs the one that yelps is the on that got hit. This is not lilipops & puppy dogs & rainbows.. This is raider football & my guy pounding you! Victory is sweet, we do it pirate style. We smack you around then let you hear about it.

Where is that dude who named himself after scabs? Havent seen him here since the niner game. Imposters and band wagon fair weather fakes must be exposed!

  • Mistabr0wn

KC is about to look at 2 games of tape and their eyes are going to be wide open.

Cassell might not make it past halftime if our D-line has anything to say about it!

  • Mistabr0wn

Problem is AL doesn’t want credit for getting out of the way!

Anybody who mocks a Raider player who is beloved by his teammates and coaching staff, who has won games in the Silver and Black and supports his replacements whole-heartedly is the only imposter of a fan I know on here.

  • aig-raiders

JC had a fantastic game today. 2 long throws to DHB and Nick Miller were on the money and those guys couldnt catch it. DHB’s hands were so far apart it was funny as he went up for the whiff. However, DHB earned credit for having a good day. I appreciated JC throwing his body on that reverse block.

The biggest kudos have to go to the Dline. They played lights out today and they’re playing “championship caliber” football. Next week is the ultimate test. Congrats to the Nation. 7 long years of misery is over!

  • SnB Production

    Mistabr0wn,

DMAC is all Davis and that man 2 man the last 2 weeks has come through…

So has blitz pressure…but I’ll let that one alone….

Mike Waufle’s system at work. He’s definitely the right coach for this defense. Al likes all his defensive linemen to be able to rush the passer, and today they showed they can do that.

  • Mistabr0wn

SnB, if the front four get pressure man 2 man is nice. In the past we havn’t got pressure without blitzing. Something has changed….AL got out of the way!

  • Just Fire Baby

I thought the NBA league pass was supposed to give you a week for free?

I only got up until Friday.

    Bogus!!!!

    VICTORY!!!

Keep it going coach, don’t let up now.

Now let’s make it 3-0 in the div!

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ Al and his minions just own me

The Raiders are sneaking up on some teams. But when a guy who loses 11 or more games for 7 years straight is till active in football operations, you have to be skeptical. 3 straight wins would be huge. But two straight blowout wins is pretty big in its own right. Not enough to solidify a “return to greatness”, so to speak, but enough to be hopeful. Need that 3rd straight win. Consider how debilitating it would be to the team to lose next week. It would just about negate these two wins. It would bring a since of “back to reality” to the locker room. Biggest Raider game in f’n years next week.

  • YoungAmerican

They’ve been blitzing effectively, too. Kamerion Wimbley is essentially an extra defensive end on some snaps. He helped collapse the pocket several times today.

  • http://www.tedhendricks.com/Ted_vs_Montana.jpg BigTed707

    Good Game DHB!

  • J Hill

    Hey Dubs!

The game started. May want to get your head outta your arsses! Some of your fans are expecting you to show up!

  • http://Raiders4Ever.com 860Todd Christensen

Al AND, are you MR in disguise? Same anti Raider rant. If you are a Raider Fan, speak Raider Football, positivly, for the Raider posters who habituate this blog. Thank You!

Heyward-Bey stepped up without Murphy in the lineup. Defense bullied the Seahawks, and our running back tandem is # 1 in the NFL!

  • lefty12

232-Sure he is-how could you have you have any doubts.

  • beach

Make that a running back trio!

  • Just Fire Baby

#1 ranked rushing offense right now.

    What about our O-line??

Run-blocking might be the best strength of our team!!

  • http://aldavissucks.blogspot.com/ Al and his minions just own me

I tell it like it is, 860. This is a football team that hasn’t won 3 straight in 7 years. So I’m supposed to just believe they’re going to do it this year? My mood is skeptical, but I recognize two straight blowouts. Hence my name. I predicted Seattle to win this game 28-27.

Not anymore….and they have to realize that. The receivers are going to have to be the story of the 2nd half because DMAC has put himself in a place where you have to game plan to stop him.

That’s why I was pleased to see something from the receivers today

The Raiders are going to need them going forward.

    Defense was BAUCE!

  • Chef Sac

The whole D looked beastly, DHB stepped up and DMAC continues his cocoon shedding!!!

All in all a good day.

  • Raidersfan727

the same people who are declaring a comeback are the same people who declared the season was over after the 49ers loss.

although theres reason to be excited, we’ve got keep our composure

Moving Veldheer to LT helps the passing game…which in turn helps the running game.. Plus Veldheer is making run blocks downfield….

Veldheer has been the difference…in my opinion…for what its worth…

Wassup with those orange shoes D Wright is wearing?

    SnB,

It’s good to be back huh? Man, 7 years of misery is over for me. I think the Dline is LEGIT. You win at the lines in this league. That stuff never changes.

  • YoungAmerican

Hopefully it’s not a high ankle sprain or an Achilles’s injury. If he just rolled it really badly, he might be back after the bye.

  • aig-raiders

I agree on Veldheer too. I didnt believe in his blocking skills earlier this season but he has been very good the past 2 games except for those false starts.
