Nnamdi, Miller, Henderson on field; no DHB

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 at 1:16 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, tight end Zach Miller and defensive tackle John Henderson all went through warmups and drills and were suited up for a padded practice Wednesday.

The only players not present were two wide receivers _ Darrius Heyward-Bey and Chaz Schilens. Schilens comes as no surprise. Coach Tom Cable said when the club returned from hits bye week Monday Schilens would not practice.

Heyward-Bey, at the time, was listed as questionable with a “sore” hamstring. There was no mention of Heyward-Bey having a hamstring issue coming out of the Chiefs game and it’s not known if he was injured in that game, if he was hurt during one of the two bye week practices or if he was injured while working out on his own during the break.

Asomugha went through some light drills with defensive backs and also was on rope and ball stripping drills. Neither Asomugha nor Miller appeared to be limping, and it remains to be seen how much work they’ll actually do once practice begins.

Henderson has not suited up or participated in a practice for two months. He was first injured on Sept. 19 in Week 2 against the St. Louis Rams with what was first described as a foot sprain and later discovered to be a stress fracture.

More to come . . .

    ——————–
Saw a picture of him on my milk carton in a Raider uni.

Been missing for parts of 2 Years.

The Great Chaz Schillens is a pipe dream.

Wonder if the same people clowning Bruce are talking up Chaz.

    Because of health, or ability.

    Both?

  • LA to TheBay

That said, I hope he comes back in week 17 (wishful thinking, I know) and helps us secure a playoff spot with a great catch (right before landing akwardly on his foot after sitting on the bench once the play has ended).

Health. I think Chaz has all the ability in the world. From what little we’ve seen of him, he always plays very well.

Should be Murphy, Ford, Nick Miller in the slot.

    DHB moved to DB.

I know some punk will archive this and bring it back like a year from now once DHB strings two 100+ yard games together in a row.

    So be it.

I am really just looking at the intangibles….
This team has waaaayyy to many weopons on O….
I do not beleive their is another O that is dynamic as ours in the NFL….except MVICK

    Just look at what a DCO has to plan for;
    ZMiller
    DMAC
    JFORD
    DHB
    JLH
    LMURPHY
    Meyers
    MBUSH
    Reece
NMILLER <—Who gets zero run but is a maker
    New wrikles like;
    Wildcat
    reverses
    and other trickery gadgets…

Lebeau is losing sleep right now…and thats just what he has seen to date.

Hue Jack has proven his worth to me. Each week he installs new packages….Picks is going to see some new ish that we all havent seen but i suspect it will be to spread them out with some 4 wides…

Picks is going to get the full on assault…

On the D side we are playing lights out…PERIOD.

That is why I say we will blow picks out….This game should in no way be close….

    —————

True. He’s had a tough break, so to speak.

I had the exact same injury in high school, though. Broken 5th left metatarsel. Was back running and skating (played hockey, weird in southern california I know, but its more popular than you think) in six weeks, walking around after about 3.

He injures it in a non contact drill (I stepped on an uneven surface while running) and then has to have his knee scoped for overcompensating?

Either his injuries are worse than they let on, he’s extremely fragile, or the Raiders medical staff is garbage.

Or some combination of the three.

Murphy and Ford 2 main recievers. DHB will be slot and eventually share with Schilens. Imagine when Ford and DHB run a spread, safetys wont know who to swing help on cause one of the db will get burnt. Then they still gotta worry about Mcfadden and Z miller underneath or Murphy wide open…in a perfect world- Murphy, Schilens and Ford together are thick at WR.

Idk if it’s a blowout or close scoring game

My wife thinks I’m crazy. She says to me “Why are you yelling? They can’t hear you.”

I haven’t been impressed with Pitt. They don’t appear nearly as imposing as years past. I don’t think it’ll a be a blow out. But I think we’ll handle them pretty easily going away. 23 -13 Raiders.

Al Davis, and his flunkies, who profess to dislike the media, sure likes to wallow in it’s praise.
    ————————
If I were to wallow, I’d prefer it be in the positive rather than the negative.

    …………….

You wallow in the negative, too! That’s KK’s point. The media has no credibility when they criticize the Raiders. Suddenly when they praise the Raiders, they’re credible? Can’t be both. Either they were on point when criticizing the team when they were losing, or they’re just stoking up the Raider bandwagon for good entertainment and ratings while the team plays good today. Can’t have it both ways. Either the media can be trusted or they can’t. If they can’t, why should one believe the media now when they say the Raiders are good?

  • olinesux

    damn he showed up…laterz loser

  • http://www.aldavissucks.blogspot.com The Real MaddenRaider

I don’t trust the media. Because the Raiders have basically told me over the past decade not to. So, I don’t. So now that the media is saying the Raiders are good, I have a tough time believing it. John Herrera told me they can’t be trusted. They’re liars.

probably everyone, Shark. Who knew Vick would come back and look this sharp? Who knew Andy Reid would sign him, one of the league’s sacred cows, considering Vick’s background? I give props to those who called it that Vick would come back strong. But to condemn those who couldn’t see it? Can you blame them?

    Actually…no I don’t.

KK’s point was to piss on the good press the Raiders received. And His “flunkies.”

Sounds like an agenda to me.

Many in here are smart enough to discern balanced reports in the media, and the gang pile of lemmings that want to get in on the action when things are not going well.

The same heard mentality will take hold in the media when the Raiders demonstrate they can win constantly.

  • SharkCatcher

Not at all..we all hit or miss- that’s for sure..I wanted TONGA TO BE THE FB..I liked franz Joseph…and bing..lol

  • http://www.aldavissucks.blogspot.com The Real MaddenRaider

Vick is playing QB better than anyone in the league right now. Is he the best? We’ll see over the course of time. I hate Tom Brady but let’s face it, he’s at least met the requirement of being consistently good season after season. If Vick keeps this up, he’s the best in the NFL. Period.

  • SharkCatcher

Brady showed a little bit of heart last week. Not used to seeing him play with that much emotion.
