Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, tight end Zach Miller and defensive tackle John Henderson all went through warmups and drills and were suited up for a padded practice Wednesday.
The only players not present were two wide receivers _ Darrius Heyward-Bey and Chaz Schilens. Schilens comes as no surprise. Coach Tom Cable said when the club returned from hits bye week Monday Schilens would not practice.
Heyward-Bey, at the time, was listed as questionable with a “sore” hamstring. There was no mention of Heyward-Bey having a hamstring issue coming out of the Chiefs game and it’s not known if he was injured in that game, if he was hurt during one of the two bye week practices or if he was injured while working out on his own during the break.
Asomugha went through some light drills with defensive backs and also was on rope and ball stripping drills. Neither Asomugha nor Miller appeared to be limping, and it remains to be seen how much work they’ll actually do once practice begins.
Henderson has not suited up or participated in a practice for two months. He was first injured on Sept. 19 in Week 2 against the St. Louis Rams with what was first described as a foot sprain and later discovered to be a stress fracture.
More to come . . .
