Johnson, Schilens not practicing
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 at 1:12 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Cornerback Chris Johnson and wide receiver Chaz Schilens were not practicing as the Raiders finished stretching and drills before getting into team practice sessions Wednesday.
Johnson, who had a groin strain coming out of the Pittsburgh game, made his way to the field but was not suited up. Schilens was not on the field.
Tight end Zach Miller and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha were both practicing, as was defensive end Jarvis Moss, who was signed to the roster and wearing No. 94.
The Raiders have not announced a corresponding transaction to keep the roster at 53, with the most likely move putting Trevor Scott on injured reserve after a torn ACL.
More to come . .

Kool.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:13 pm
And once again Schilens is out. If/When he comes back, he better be a difference maker.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:14 pm
Not Kool. Chaz still out.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
So much for all the progress Chaz was making.
Michael Floyd in the second round of the 2011 draft.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
Trevor Scott will come back before Schilens does. Unbelievable.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:18 pm
What a big surprise , No Chaz , I expect Jesus back before Schilens.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:19 pm
Sigh. Why didn’t we get TO/TJ again?
November 24th, 2010 at 1:20 pm
Did Chaz get hurt stepping off the plane from Pittsburgh or what?
November 24th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
Blacked out, I guess.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:22 pm
Every person writing on this blog has as many catches as Chaz this season. What a waste of roster space.

Just cut Campbell and get it over with.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
Everyone chaz is done does anyone seriously think he will ever practice let alone play. It’s a sad story I just give up on him. Can’t sit and wait around as an organization. Time to cut ties with him.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
I don’t think roster space is very important to the Raiders. See Nick Miller 09′
November 24th, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Put Chaz on IR and see what other srub WRs are out there. This is beyond frustrating.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:25 pm
You’re right KK, roster space is not important, unless The Al can find someone else’s washed up 1st round bust or a guy that runs a 4.2 40…………

would YOU PEOPLE just relax?
I reported 6 months ago that Chaz would be ready by Week 16 this season … just ask fellow semi pro blogger DMAC!
he’ll be here when we need him, just in time for the playoffs
November 24th, 2010 at 1:38 pm
The really sad part is, the Raiders could desperately use Chazerella about now in week 11. Nobody else has taken his place.

And what is his time in the 40?
November 24th, 2010 at 1:40 pm
If the “big, strong, fast, explosive” Darrius Heyward Bey had stepped up, Chazerella would be an afterthought.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Austin Pettis in the 3rd round?

Jerry Mac,
Would you please provide an injury update on Darrius and his clone Rolando?

Hey! what is Chaz costing us again? Oh! that’s what i thought 7th rnd money… if we cut him what do we lose? maybe our best WR Oh! OK! let’s keephim until we can get a guy better than him. Sounds good thanks……
November 24th, 2010 at 1:42 pm
I think theres a better chance of Kell, BSJ & TW all voting Republican in 2012 than Chaz staying healthy for more than 8 games next year (including preseason)

TJ , Your right but, the doctor bills must be higher than a no. one pick.
November 24th, 2010 at 1:52 pm
BHP, do you defend each and every one of the 53 players on the team even if they’re lost causes?
You know, the team that’s better than the 1980 team? Or was it the 1983?
It’s sad you are not on the payroll for Raiders PR staff.

Chaz signed a four-year, $1.755 million contract
this is year #3. Next year will be his “contract year” or final year of that original deal
he has 44 catches in 3 years. Thats about $39,887 per catch

A lot less chance than THAT! I had the same surgery as Chaz & was walking in 4 days. I’m nowhere near an athlete anymore than I’m a Republican!!!

An unimpressive rookie season at best. P Willis put up 135 solo tackles his rookie year.
When Singletary gets fired, I would like to see him coaching the Raiders LB’s. Did wonders for R lewis, and P Willis.

Why did you have to bring up Javon Vegas Walker again ?I was just getting over that one.

If you’re talking about the metatarsel, I did too. 5th one on the left side. No surgery required, back jogging, running, cutting in just a few weeks.
If it’s the knee, I’m not sure. Went under the knife for a finger (still got the screws), but that’s it.

Chargers have been winning with less talent at WR, our qb’s aint good enough, but Bruce gives us a better chance

Don’t blame Javon Walker; he tried to retire and decline a 10 mill. contract but Al Davis begged him to stay. That is documented fact. Then, they don’t even give the guy a chance. Made no sense to me. Still doesn’t.
November 24th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
The next time I see Chaz ‘little baby’ Schilens name mentioned I hope it’s in the form of an announcement saying he’s been cut.
Why don’t they tell us what’s going on with him? Are they embarrassed to tell us that he somehow managed to injure himself again?
“Chaz has a pinky finger deal. That’s the deal there and that the deal and well have to watch film and see what, I mean or deal and watch and things like the deal there”.
November 24th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
Can someone find out who did his surgery? JFC..did he go to “Surgeries r us”?

He needs to call the Slocumb guy that Capt Kirk is schillin for to claim damages
