Our defense has a rookie middle linebacker calling the coverages. We will get better and just laid an egg. If we get production at the QB position these last 6 weeks, we may be in business. This team might not win many more games this year given the schedule ahead, but at least it can expect better competitive value and build for the future. McClain might have the smarts and physicality to be a good player, but so far he hasn't shown that he can be a great player, and I made the comparison with Patrick Willis, because he is a player who made great impact from the beginning of his career and McClain hasn't. But, as it has always been the case, drafts seem to even out in the long run. Al Davis has made obvious blunders in the first rounds, but he has drafted solid talent in the later rounds. Case in point the whole slew of rookies and young players that could and should compete now and in the near future.
