POSTED AT THE 2-MINUTE WARNING
– Ricky Williams broke loose on a 45-yard touchdown run with 3:12 to play to put the Dolphins up 33-17 and send most of the fans that remained streaming for the exits. A team that gained 160 yards in four quarters against the Bears in a 16-0 loss was up to 475 yards after the scoring run.
– Bruce Gradkowski threw errantly on a fourth-and-4 play near midfield, turning the ball over to the Dolphins. He was 13 of 26 for 216 yards at the time of the incompletion.
– Chad Henne surpassed 300 yards and continued to go after Walter McFadden in the fourth quarter with a 23-yard pass to Davone Bess. Dan Carpenter’s 25-yard field goal put Miami up 26-17.
– Ford stole a deep Gradkowski pass early in the fourth quarter for a 52-yard gain to set the Raiders up deep in Miami territory. It set up a 30-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski when the Raiders couldn’t punch in a touchdown.

Al sabotaged Gradkowski. Forced the coaches to use the archaic game plan today. I saw nothing on offense all day today to get us to 3rd and short, which is what you have to have in today’s league. We just forced the ball all day. No QB could have pulled it off. Al pulled an old corporate managerial move today. Remember, Jamarucs Russell’s 2008 QB rating was way better than what we have combined this year (and better than Campbell by himself this year).
I hate Jamarucs, but that is a pretty sobering thought.

Well the big thing that was exposed today was that Bruce just does not have the arm strength that Al covets so right away that’s a strike against him. Now I’m seeing that he’s hurt so it’ll probably be Campbell next week and he’ll be exposed too and we’ll be back to square one- no qb no future. doom and gloom!

The worst of it is, if it’s not for a KO return and an outstanding catch and run, we lose 33-3. It’s too bad Jacoby Ford is stuck in this s-t hole. Hopefully Al puts him up as trade bait, for his own good. There’s no hope for the Raiders until Al is gone.

Or make Gradkowski miss a wide open JL Higgins across the middle on 4th and 4.
Grads didn’t make plays today at all! This loss is on him and the offensive line. But as the leader, Gradkowski bears the majority of this loss today!

1. Hue has to be a better play caller. (DMAc has to be a factor)
2. Grad is not a even an avg QB and he lost us the game.
3. The def was to rattled in the first half

You’re right about that! Al should never have let Cable let Knapp (OC) and DeFillipo (QB coach) leave so he could run the offense with Tollner and Buddy Whackit. JR had a good thing going with the first two guys. He also let Brian Schneider go to USC which sank our stellar return teams. Then Chaz gets hurt and we start two rookies at WR. And I’m being nice when I say rookies. After what I’ve seen this year, Murphy and DHB couldn’t be THIRD receivers on any other team. JR never had a chance. Getting cut from here was a blessing for him.

Well, then you’re not paying attention to the myopic idiots around here the last few minutes. They’re still on his bandwagon. You see, this loss was about Al’s “corporate managerial moves” and not Bruce’s ineffectiveness.
When Jason played badly, it was just that Jason is bad. But when Bruce plays badly, it’s someone else’s fault.
That’s what one great comeback against a Pittsburgh team mired in a five-game losing streak does to some people’s brains. It’s not pretty, for sure. Kind of embarrassing for humanity, actually.

If Campbell was playing we would have lost 40 to nothing. Campbell would have been killed by the pressure. Play the Bruce till the end of the year. Hopefully we make a run, if not draft quarterback. Even as bad as Bruce played at times this year, i still rather have that then Campbell against Tennesse, St. Louis, San Francisco. Campbell didn’t even give us a chance in those games and the defense played good against San Francisco. Stay with Bruce we can still win 3 more. Go with Campbell and we may beat denver.

Why was WMcFadden play LCB? Where was Routt? Nnamdi wasn’t 100% today. I’m not impressed with John Marshall’s player groupings. We should be better than that.
The offense was virtually non-existent. The running game wasn’t ready for prime time. Grads quite frankly was careless with the ball & lucky he didn’t have at least 3 more INT’s. If Grads is our best shot at winning, we are FK’d.

Although pulling for him,,I had a feeling we were gona lose when I saw headlines that Bruce was starting. Campbell went 3-1 over the past month, but Cable was determined to put his boyfriend back into the lineup. The “People’s Choice” was the WRONG CHOICE! BOTH QBS SUCK.
But at least Campbell has the height and vision to see over defenses. That play where Ford was wide open and he threw it late right into the defenders hands was disgusting.
The game plan had nothing to do with it. Our receivers had plenty of good looks and you all should’ve known they would choke off the run game so that part is irrelevant.

Part of it. But mostly Campbell just looked scared. Football is a game of men. Gradkowski is a leader and showed he could keep his cool. He at least made effort to evade pass rushers. Campbell would have been sacked 20 times today.

Campbell would not of thrown the ball to get the int because he would have been sacked, Jmacraider12. We have at least a shot with Bruce. I can not believe people are wanting campbell back. He just lost 35-3 the game before. We were at least still in this game into the 4th quarter. I rather watch us stay in the game than get blown out by half.

QB did not matter today. It could have been Ken Stabler out there and we still would have lost. The two things you have to do in this league are run the ball and stop the run. The Dolphins did that today, and we failed miserably at both. That three game winning streak where we were running the ball down people’s throats? Just a mirage…
Even though the sane, rational part of my brain says this team is finished now, we are not totally screwed until SD beats the Colts tonight and then torches us next week. Then we can start playing that song the band was playing as the Titanic went down. If those two things don’t happen, then we still have the slightest glimmer of hope, but it will involve beating the Jaguars, who can run the ball, and the Colts, who have Peyton Manning. I don’t like our chances, but never say die, right? Right?
As far as next year goes, we need to work on the lines before we even think about the next QB that will get thrown to the wolves. No, I’m putting my money on Davis drafting the fastest WR in the draft again and overpaying Mike Vick in FA.

The Raiders tried screens, they didn’t work. They tried running, it didn’t work. Comeback routes didn’t work. Slants didn’t work. The deep pass worked once or twice, but also resulted in turnovers.
What should the Raiders have done?
The only problem here is poor execution. Below-average QB play, one side of the offensive line that can’t block anyone, inconsistent receivers (except for Ford), no TE because Miller is playing at 50% at best.

Has anybody ever thought if this message board is so divided, we can only imagine how the Raiders locker room is??? Year after year we have been lacking consistent QB play since #12 retired. Its just sad. The coaching staff needs to name a starting QB the rest of the way and stick with them. I hate to say it but if it doesnt work out we have to look to the draft. Andrew Luck, said by many to be the safest QB pick in years.

Campbell has grossly underthrown every deep this year other than the KC OT throw.
No sense in saying he wouldn’t have underthrown as well.
Regardless, that play was fresh after a screen for a first down and two runs for a first down.
Than the old play-action deep ball for an INT.
Hue Jackson is not NFL OC caliber. He was not an OC before he came here, and he won’t be here after he leaves here.

I wont change my mind on Campbell, If he played we would have been down 21-0 at half. The line really was horrible today. Mcfadden was hit or ran right into a defensive player every time he touched the ball. Mcffaden defense looked lost and forgot how to tackle. This was a bad game all around. We were still in it for how bad we played though. I still want Bruce back next week and I won’t change my mind on this game.

I never believed too much into the playoffs thing. To me, the most important this year was to get better and give some experience and confidence to the young players. Unfortunately i don’t know if what the Raiders did thus far is enough to build on for the next few years. And I’m kind of worried about the rest of this season. It feels like we’re in the same exact position we’ve been for last 7 years.

Both of QBs are barely average — and i’m being generous. There is NO debate. There’s nothing to debate. It’s the lesser of two evils. Only the Raiders could end up with probably the worst free agent QB in the NFL. And Grads is a decent backup. That’s it. Sorry,the NFL is a QB league and the Raiders will continue to get blown out by legit contenders (Steelers) and offer no resistance against above average teams (Houston, Miami).

The Raiders have a chance at 8-8 and maybe 9-7. If we stick with Bruce and the defense plays better we can achieve this. Also the line has to block for Mcfadden. Even if they don’t block for the pass very well they have to open up whole’s for the running game. If they have no pass blocking at all, bruce gives the Raiders a chance to be a short pass threat with screens and playaction. Campbell not getting any blocking up front, well we loss bad. Also we all know Bruce is not a threat to throw deep, so Hue needs to use more of the west coast. Short passes, screens and Miller.

I will have to say I really agree with trading Asomough. I like him alot but with the way the NFL officials wont allow a corner to play, he just not worth the money. Trade him and Kelly for a first round pick. Get a quarterback and second round a big defensive tackle who just takes up space. I know that this wont be popular here but I would not mind seeing the Raiders go after Brady Quinn. I think he can be made into something good.

Nobody is saying that Jason Campbell is elite like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and those guys, but if Cable gave the guy some breathing room and some time, he could get the job done and he might have top 10 in the NFL stats.
For 2009, Campbell was #15 in the NFL in passer rating you know. Dovovan McNabb, the new Redskins QB in #28 in passer rating right now. He’s WORSE than Campbell. Look it up on nfl.com.

Gradkowski should just call his own plays. He has nothing to lose. His contract runs out after this year, doesn’t it? So Al can’t hold him hostage like he did to Marcus. Bruce has all the cards in his hand, and you know Cable wont’ bench him. Bruce should just draw up his own game plan, tell the receivers where the ball’s going to be. if grad’s physical tools were as big as his heart he’d be the best qb in the league. unfortunately, he doesn’t. he’s a below avg nfl qb, he wouldn’t start a game anywhere else that cable isn’t. bottom-line bruce hasn’t won a game he finished this season.

I was a Bruce supporter, but he just doesn’t have the arm to get the job done. And Campbell doesn’t have the heart or brains, so we’re done for the year.

Like I said earlier, WE ARE FUK’D. We do not have an NFL caliber starting QB on our roster. We need to replace 60% of our O-line (C, RG & RT). We don’t have a 2011 1st round pick & we have very little on our squad that any other team wants. Maybe Lechler, Nnamdi & Bush have trade value but that’s about it.

Bruce injured the same shoulder on the last play of the game. Probably should put him on IR. That will end the QB debate. We’ll lose all our remaining games with Campbell and the team will get blown up once again next year.

Two weeks ago the Raiders were rolling and in 1st place. Two games later they’re two out, with grads playing 1.5 games, and throwing three picks. He won’t see the field again this season, and Raiders will win the division. It ain’t over yet people, have some faith.

D.H. Bust can’t even run a reverse correctly.
If he had cut inside, we would have gotten a first down at the 3.
Bruce’s arm did not look at full strength today, and he is definitely not durable enough to be a full time QB.
We need O line help, a good QB, and some immaginative coaching. This conservative crp isn’t cutting it.

C’mon son… I know nnamdi didn’t have a good game today but he is wayyy above average. Did you guys see how heavily taped his ankle was today??? He’s not 100 percent what do you expect? A high ankle sprain takes 6-8 weeks to heal, and all he’s had to heal is 3, but I’d give him up for mike vick straight up, but nobody else. Nnam’s the best corner in the league and our best/ most consistent player.

He could be like the Dolphins QB Chad Pennington who just injured his shoulder for the THIRD time. Pennington was only in the game for ONE play. Hopefully the second half of the season mirrors the first half. A few horrible losses and a few big wins. That’s as much as we can hope for.
Some progress has been made this season, but consistency in execution still eludes the Raiders. A big part of that has to do with the QB position. A questionable receiving corps, O-line and secondary are concerning as well.
Huff’s play has come along, but Routt is too inconsistent. For a guy with so much speed, he gets burned regularly.
Today the Dolphins’ passing game set up their running game. By the end the Raiders couldn’t stop either.

Im not saying he will be the quarterback of the future but gives us the best chance now. The Raiders need more upgrades and OLINE. No doubt about it. They need a full stable of guys who are above average at least. A few perennial Pro Bowlers on the Oline can make all the difference in the world.

Bud Adams isn’t going to let go of Vince Young. Carson Palmer won’t do much without good offensive line play. He has two receivers who are much more talented than anyone on this team (besides possibly Ford), and the Bengals are perennially s**t.
The Raiders need to upgrade the right side of the offensive line, the receiving corps and the secondary. And they need to stop picking QBs up off the trash heap. This season they didn’t have much of an option. Next season they do.

Cambell played a half last week, Bruce played a half. Bruce had picks and no points last week, then that pathetic performance today. How can you people still hate on JC, and support Bruce? Again, two weeks ago Raiders in first place, two games later with Bruce playing 1.5 games they’re two out. 1+1 =2, have fun in Rehab Bruce. Raiders take the division, with someone other than the mighty Bruce playing QB, bank on it!

Campbell would have done no worse than Grad. Oline stinks to high hell man. Both Qbs are no good but Campbell is better as starting for our team. A qb at some point needs to be able to make all the throws. Grad cant and Campbell can….eventho he looks lost out there sometimes. But it dont matter guys…..both lines are missing key ingredients…..the interior of the oline stinks and the Tackles are average….the dline lacks a true NT and a speed rushing monster at DE. Top that with the fact we refuse to blitz that is a recipe for disaster

Bottom line, it was obvious from the end of the first quarter that this game was going to be a loss. on both sides of the ball the Raiders were getting outplayed.
Had not been for Ford’s heroics, we would be talking about another squeeler type whooping.
One can overlook the Pitt game, but this one at home is a total embarrassment. It also obvious that without Nnamdi the DBs are totally helpless. And, that without a decent offensive game plan, the Raiders RBs are exposed. There was one screen to McFadden.
Where was Seymour all game long? Did he make any impact plays?
Got to give to McClain, at least we know he can play center field.
Cable should be gone asap, the season is not going anywhere but down anyway, there’s very little possibility that the Raiders can win in SD or KC or beat Indy, and Jax is also a tough team. So maybe, the Raiders can beat the donkeys, that’ll be a 6-10, and another losing season.

Cable loves the underdog, which is why his offensive line is made up of guys that couldn’t cut it anywhere else, a guard that couldn’t play tackle and a rookie from a Division 3 school. It’s why Justin Fargas was allowed to continue to bash into his own blockers and run into defenders long after it was clear that he wasn’t an NFL running back. It’s also why a plucky little scrapper with no field vision and a weak arm is your starting quarterback right now.
I was shocked when Campbell was pulled in Pittsburgh. No way was our offensive performance on the quarterback that day. Balls were dropped all over the place, the running game was completely shut down and we picked up one blitz for every five that the Steelers were successful with. Those of you that want Gradkowski can have him. Just don’t expect a different result than what you saw out there today.
Also, the idea that Nnamdi should be traded is one for the books. Our secondary’s performance today without him at 100% today is all the proof anyone should need that he completely changes the way teams approach the passing game when he’s in there and healthy.

The lack of a running game has killed us the past two games.
There’s a handful of QB’s in this league that can win without a running game, and we don’t have any of them.
Play action is vital to our offense but when you can’t run at all, it’s useless.
I wouldn’t blame the run defense, they were on the field way too long.
I agree that Walter McFadden should have been replaced with Huff, the poor kid was eaten alive out there.

Bruce G is toast for the rest of the season. – he will no doubt be placed on IR. It doesn’t really matter because neither he nor JC nor Boller are the answer unless you are talking about a trivia question. I don’t have an answer because there are just too many questions. For example:
• Who should be the new HC?
• Who should be the new OC?
• Who should be the new DC?
• Where are the going to find and who should be the new starting QB?
• Who, which FA, is AD going to resign for the 2011 campaign?
• When is the reign of crappy teams going to end?
• And the band plays on…

The winner of the AFC West will be hosting the Steelers most likely in the 1st round of the playoffs. It sure would be nice if that would be us hosting! Redemption for last weekends game

Repalce Cable with Hue? The guy has only one job to do and he can’t even do that right. Norv was an infinitely better OC and he couldn’t do jack Shi’ite for us.

f this team hire,fire,draft,sign, or do whatever, this team and its coaching staff are all garbage. signing a bunch of players who couldnt cut it on other teams and playing a bunch of young kids who have coaches that cant coach. we are never gonna turn the corner. it starts on the top. and if anyone is wondering what our top looks like its not pretty.

Cable loves the underdog, which is why his offensive line is made up of guys that couldn’t cut it anywhere else, a guard that couldn’t play tackle and a rookie from a Division 3 school. It’s why Justin Fargas was allowed to continue to bash into his own blockers and run into defenders long after it was clear that he wasn’t an NFL running back. It’s also why a plucky little scrapper with no field vision and a weak arm is your starting quarterback right now.
I was shocked when Campbell was pulled in Pittsburgh. No way was our offensive performance on the quarterback that day. Balls were dropped all over the place, the running game was completely shut down and we picked up one blitz for every five that the Steelers were successful with. Those of you that want Gradkowski can have him. Just don’t expect a different result than what you saw out there today.

This is so right on! It’s also why he tried to start Hiram Eugene over Huff and and brought Kwame Harris hear to start at LT. Then he goes and blames last season on JR. Stick a fork in this chump!

gradkowski sucked today.., no question about it… the entire offense looked like a high school team; except, joboby ford… secondary got exposed, including nnamdi… pass rush, non existent… run D, strong at first, only to get exposed when D got tired after being on the field the entire game… better get it together, or this short ride is over… biggest constant in wins and losses is the play of the O line… this game sucked…

Well whoever plays next week, I hope Bruce but I will still watch. One thing I am proud that I am on this blog and no one, that I have read has mentioned race. I don’t look at color and I really believe the Raiders don’t look at color. Whoever gives the Raiders the best chance to win, black or white, I Believe plays.

Young America, the Raiders didn’t use nearly enough plays to get to 3rd and short. They didn’t run enough screens. Slants were too far out, same with comebacks. Gradkowski got hosed with the gameplan today. Al set him up to fail.

I’ve forgotten more seasons then you’ll ever remember. I was a fan when you were but cosmic dust. The franchise is so fukd up no amount of wishful thinking on the part of “fans” such as yourself will make any difference whatsoever. You confuse uncritical support with loyalty, but you’re as misguided as the old codger who runs this excuse for a franchise; as others have rightly pointed out, no hope until Al is gone. Last two games have proven that. The team faced a clear crossroads: path to respectability or the status quo. You think there’s still hope. I say the team just choked big time and still doesn’t believe in itself. But, just maybe, fans who uncritically “believe” can will the team back to the path I think was just refuted. So you prove me wrong and I’ll eat my words at the end of the season.
