End 1st qtr: Dolphins 10, Raiders 7

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, November 28th, 2010 at 1:37 pm in Oakland Raiders.

First-quarter notebook:

– Good start on Jacoby Ford kickoff return, then it was all Dolphins and quarterback Chad Henne.

– Davone Bess burns Stanford Routt on third-and-10 for 23-yard gain as Dolphins got out poor field position at their own 10 on last possession of first quarter.

As the quarter ended, Miami was past midfield after runs by Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown.

– Darren McFadden is dumped for a pair of 3-yard losses to wreck a drive that started with a 29-yard Gradkowski to Murphy hookup.

Back to Pittsburgh game, that’s six carries on his last 13 attempts.

– Miami moved 65 yards on eight plays in its second possession for a touchdown, with the score coming on a 30-yard pass to Patrick Cobbs against a trailing Michael Huff. Miami getting first downs, mixing in wildcat, Raiders defense on the defensive.

— Gradkowski can’t do anything with third-and-15 on first series, a 6-yard pass to McFadden on third down. McFadden dumped by Cameron Walke on second-and-8. Ford gets a 5-yard false start.

— Dan Carpenter’s 49-yard field goal gave the Dolphins points out of their first possession, getting 27 of their 29 yards on the drive on a single play _ Henne’s completion to Brian Hartline on a back shoulder throw against Nnamdi Asomugha.

A third down stop? Are you kidding me?

  • RaidersMom

LMAO @ RaidingTexas! Is there such a thing as RFILF? Lol! Way to hold them to just 3 points Raiders.

RaidersMom, I’m just playing with you. I wish there were more women on this blog. I just find it hard to believe that a women would frequent this blog with all the degenerates in here.

Asomugha needs to step up in the 2nd half along with the rest of the secondary. That questionable holding call was huge

Bess is killing our scouting dept.

  • los9091

if they lett Henne sit back there all day he is going to make Bess the PLAYER OF THE WEEK!

    Hope for second half adjustments.

  • djohnnyg

Why can’t we slow down the Dolphins?

They show the stats for Miami’s offense for last week but there’s a big difference between Thigpen and Henne.

  • lefty12

Even with all the whining we are up at the half-go Raiders-all of you.

  • brian_3520

I’d feel better if Jason Campbell was out there as the QB. No way is Gradkowski better than Campbell.

  • RaidingTexas

Miami gets the ball first in the second half. Kinda sucks given the current state of things.

  • Just Fire Baby

I’ll take a halftime lead the way things were looking.

We are in a dogfight folks, drop the petty ish and let’s go Silver and Black!!!!

I think RMR repels women from this blog

Henne is a lot better than Thigpen. Henne makes dumb mistakes though. He’s not a proven NFL QB yet.

  • los9091

    Z. Miller is doing NOTHING for my fantasy team.

    lol

  • Ars3nic3

GO RAIDERS!!! Lets hope for some true Raider Football after the half.

  • RaidersMom

Oh ok Paine. Thank you for explaining. Good thing you did because I was just about ready to call you a major PAINE IN THE ASS ;-)

  • brian_3520

We need to put Jason Campbell in there at QB.

  • brian_3520

Put Jason Campbell in there. He’s the guy who helped us with the winning streak we had there for a while!
