End 3rd qtr: Dolphins 23, Raiders 14

Third quarter notebook

— Miami picked on Walter McFadden one last time in the quarter on a 19-yard slant to Roberto Wallace, putting Miami at the Oakland 41 to open the fourth quarter.

Nnamdi Asomugha was doubled over on the sideline with an unspecified injury or condition.

— Bruce Gradkowski was late to see Jacoby Ford and then underthrew him at the goal line on a deep attempt, with Chris Clemons getting an interception in the end zone and giving Miami the ball at the 20.

— A second three and out for Raiders offense, drawing “boos’’ not “Bruuuce.’’ McFadden dumped for another loss. That’s six carries, minus-8 yards. Medium deep Gradkowski-to-Murphy play doesn’t connect.

To make matters worse, Davone Bess 47-yard punt return following a 48-yard punt sets up Miami again deep in Oakland territory.

They got no points when Dan Carpenter’s 50-yard field goal attempt was short.

— Miami has had great field position all day, and got it again to set up a 45-yard Carpenter field goal to go up 23-14. The Dolphins opened at the Oakland 44 after the Raiders punted out of their own end zone and Bess returned it to the 44.

— Raiders first possession _ three-and-out, and Gradkowski is lucky a second-and-10 forced throw to Darren McFadden was intercepted by linebacker Koa Misi.

— Bad start to second half _ Walter McFadden plays a routine out pattern to Marlon Moore into a 57-yard touchdown pass from Chad Henne. It’s a 72-yard drive in five plays and gives Dolphins a 20-14 lead.

No way we beat SD. 5-7? We’ll be lucky to go 6-10. Another double digit loss season when we thought we were going to playoffs. Ha. What a joke.

    Same old Raiders.

  • Just Fire Baby

Remember, Jamarucs Russell’s 2008 QB rating was way better than what we have combined this year (and better than Campbell by himself this year).

I hate Jamarucs, but that is a pretty sobering thought.

  • Born with a Patch

    DHB didn’t play but a few downs today…. whatever…. I’m out boys… and you 2 girls…. Stay Strong Nation!!

nice knowing u bruce. have fun in the ufl where u belong… take cable & company with you. losers

Neither guy is good enough for the UFL. AD, big mistake siding with the coach over the QB last year. Bud Adams better be paying attention.

  • F GarbageKowski!!!

  • SilverNBlackPA

I love how when Ford bailed Campbell out of a crappy pass against KC, it was “Campbell gave him a chance to make a play and Ford made it!”

But when Ford bails Grads out of a crappy pass today it’s “That proves Bruce sucks, Ford shouldn’t have had to take it away”

Grads haters are just as blind as the lovers.

  • Just Fire Baby

I’m saying Gradkowski sucks, he obviously proved it today.

But Campbell sucks too. Obviously, because they watched Bruce all year and still chose him, lol

  • Al sabotaged Gradkowski. Forced the coaches to use the archaic game plan today. I saw nothing on offense all day today to get us to 3rd and short, which is what you have to have in today’s league. We just forced the ball all day. No QB could have pulled it off. Al pulled an old corporate managerial move today. He put an employee he doesn’t want into a position where he was destined to fail, so that he could point to it on his review.

  • lefty12

246-Just like he bailed out Campbell.Face it they both suck and neither one should be starting.

  • PK28

this piece of trash “qb” is what “raider nation” supposedly wanted???? cable & whoever else supported bruce needs to go if they think that little guy give them the best chance to win. losing record as starter & thrown more ints than tds.

  • djohnnyg

And to think, even the media bought in to the Raiders being for real.

    Are the Raiders for real?

    Answer: NO!

  • Glutten for Punishment

pathetic!!!! cable is toast. hello jeff fisher.we need a QB so badly.

  • bg22958

1)Huh? Bruce just played exactly as his stats would have predicted…weird.

2)Cable went from coach of the year canidate to on the hot seat again by buying into the hype and yanking Campbell.

3)Looks like Hue has positioned himself very well for next season.

The proverbial (poop) is going to hit the fan, explode and all hades is gonna bust loose. Will not be a pretty sight, Just stay clear, or look out for flying debris.

Well, there you go. You’ve got JC.

  • 0ak72

it’ll only take 3 more years to find and groom a qb and become competitive for real….

  • Well, it looks like it’s going to be Campbell again. LMAO

  • turner42

Not a Grads lover or hater, I just don’t see how you bench the starter after the best 4 game stretch in the past 10 yrs. Doesn’t make any sense.

  • djohnnyg

Nice play on 4th down Graddy boy.

I was wrong about this polish piece of garbage. Back to Am. Legion league you polish piece of …

  • What difference does it make if DHB clear out or not. Yea I said he was missed, either way your god Garbagekowski couldn’t throw it that far anyway. So why bother covering deep.

  • djohnnyg

“Well, you know the deal there is, you know and things, and the deal is, agai, I’ll have to look at the film and you know see what the deal there and that and get ready to play San Diego next week”.

    -Tom Cable.

  • DaTruth91

DHB wasnt on the field alot…so stop bashing the guy that didnt even play

    intersting notes
    1. Hue has to be a better play caller. (DMAc has to be a factor)
    2. Grad is not a even an avg QB and he lost us the game.
    3. The def was to rattled in the first half
    4. walter Mcfadden should be on the practice squad
    5. nnamdi was not 100% and it showed
    6. where was Z miller at????
    7. Ford is gonna be a star in this league( he single handledly contributed to every pt we scored)
    8. Oline pass protected very well today, Valdeer is def an answer for us at tackle.
    9. Raiders get out coached alot

exactly!!!!! wtf is wrong with cable??? open your f’ing eyes!!!!

  • DaTruth91

not sayin JC is a better opition, but he doesnt underthrow recievers for interceptions. JC has problems with decision making but I just dont see him under thwrowing as many balls as Grad did

  • There you go, great game, great gameplan, good bounces gone our way, we had this game in the bag from the opening kickoff. Yes I’m delusional like a Garbagekowski supporter.

  • 0ak72

i hope there’s a lockout next year at this rate

  • Now we will here that the midget f$Cker was not 100%.
bullish!t he sucked bad plain and simple, we left points out there cuz the freakin hobit couldn’t throw deep.

  • turner42

Cable tried to outsmart Al, and lost. Bye bye.

  • LB

    It’s Al’s fault.
It’s the play calling. I said that last night. Duh!
No QB could’ve won using these calls.
    It’s anything but Grad sucks.
How many more excuses do the Grad lovers have?

Grad sucks and he gets hurt all the darn time.
He couldn’t sustain any drives, threw two ints, threw late, etc. Why people want this clown, I don’t know??

  • 0ak72

does anyone believe jeff fisher would want to come to oakland.

  • brian_3520

The Raiders would be very blessed if Jeff Fisher became the coach of the Raiders. He’s one of the best. No doubt. He’s a California guy you know. He might want to come back to Cali. He played college football at USC. Never know.
