Gradkowski says he’s not done yet

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Wednesday, December 1st, 2010 at 12:27 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Raiders quarterback Bruce Gradkowski confirmed a third degree separation to his right shoulder Wednesday but said he still hopes to play this season.

“I don’t see the season being over for me yet,” Gradkowski said. “I mean, I’m not going to go down yet. I’m just going to keep preparing, just keep rehabbing. But I’m thinking a couple of weeks and get back. If we can make a run here, keep doing well in our division, I think we’ll be all right.”

Gradkowski said the diagnosis wasn’t much different than it was after the first Chargers game, when the injury cost him five weeks. He said third-degree separations don’t necessarily mean surgery and noted it “seems like my shoulder is still strong to where if I just let it heal right, I’ll be all right.”

More to come . . .

Why would I be threatened by Jacoby being better than Heyward-Bey?

    ………………..

Because you want to believe that Al Davis can still score in the first round of the draft. You don’t want to believe that DHB isn’t even a football player, let alone a number one receiver on an NFL team. That’s why.

One question for Bruce? Did you win enough games this year? End of discussion.

We don’t care. Period. We don’t need distractions with some pivotal games coming up. Just shut your trap and rehab and find a job at some other franchise as a backup.

Funny SI, ESPN, even the WSJ was annointing us “back”. Look what two straight losses does to our battered franchise

  8. RaiderDebo Says:

The first issue was called an “arch” injury with Miller said was a torn plantar fascia. Just as he was recovering from that problem, Miller was injured in a 33-17 loss to Miami with a deep contusion to his right leg coach Tom Cable described as “serious.”

It happened following a Chris Clemons interception of a Gradkowski pass on the return, with Miller saying he had been hit both high and low by Miami blockers.

Mistic, why are you calling the Raiders “Cable’s team”, when Al Davis said just a few months ago that he is “heavily involved”? How can it be Cable’s team when the owner has clearly said he plays an active role in football related decisions? What do you mean by “Cable’s team”?

If you can’t prove it was said, don’t make the claim. Without a transcript or a quote, we don’t even have a context. We have no idea what Gannon’s true meaning was until we see what he actually said. If you don’t have a source to back it up with, don’t refer to it.

    ==========================================================

    Again bra? Seriously?

Cable is the head coach, this is why i called it his team. This by the way is common in football, no matter who the owner is. you would know that if you watched football, which you clearly do not.

Not sure if Hue is the right answer. He doesn’t have adequate depth in each job he has taken. He was WRs coach for a couple of years, a couple of years as OC and a couple of years as QB coach. Only Jerry Jones, I believe, had disclosed being heavily involved with football operations in recent years. I’ve heard no other owners insist they are heavily involved, the way Al Davis has. So, it’s not normal. It’s not normal for an NFL owner to come right out and say that they are heavily involved in football decisions. So, again, why do you call this Cable’s team, when Al clearly said a few months ago that he’s heavily involved? How can a team exclusively belong to one person when someone else has claimed to be heavily involved? Explain that.

    ……………..

Yes it is. But it is NOT common for an NFL owner to come out and insist they are involved with football operations, as Al did a few months ago. Most owners today hire general managers, let them handle football related decisions. Them and the coaches, in most instances. But Al Davis has clearly stated that as an owner, unlike most owners, he’s involved with football decisions. This is unusual. It’s not the case with most teams. So, again, how can you say this is Cable’s team when Al Davis clearly said mere months ago that he is heavily involved? How can one thing exclusively belong to one person when someone else has made it clear they’re involved too?
