Cable refutes Yahoo report

Raiders coach Tom Cable said at his weekly press briefing he and Hue Jackson enjoyed a laugh over the Yahoo! Sports report which said the two had a strained relationship.

Cable said he had no problems with Jackson’s play-calling Sunday, including the sequence when Kyle Boller was in at quarterback and the Raiders wound up turning the ball over on an interception.

More to come . . .

    JHILLLLLLL,

I’m calling you out right now……..You effin pisses me off. You have a problem with not admitting when you are wrong.

here is the game film jerkoff. 11 seconds left and not 6 secs as you stated. You are flat out wrong and you know it.

    ——————————————————

I said he CAUGHT THE BALL WITH 6 SECONDS LEFT.

    LMFAO!

You want to zero in on the time left on the clock?

What about your claim that there were 2 WRs streaking into the end zone?

Why are you pz’d off, lol?

I can’t open the link you posted but I have the game on DVR ready to discuss whatever you see on tape.

YOU are wrong and making shhhhh up!

So you to YOUR point, there was 11 seconds left on the clock and the QB had only DHB streaking deep with double coverage. Ford was running a pattern to the sideline, right or wrong? Both DEs came in damn near unblocked forcing a throw off the backfoot, right or wrong?

Is JHill saying that throwing the ball to DHB in the end zone with 11 seconds left and no timeouts was

    NOT

    the right thing to do?

    —————————————————–

I’m saying DHB was double covered and was the only guy going deep. Campbell took a chance with the 15 yd sideline route hoping the WR would get OOB. The rookie WR cut it up under the defender to get OOB.

Were you able to open AIGs link?

What did you see on that last play?

I was only joking, but now that I have had a moment to think about it…..couldn’t be worse than Cable!

    Glutten,

I agree that the team plays harder nowadays. Haven’t seen any quit in them the way they did last year against the Giants and Texans.

Wonder how much of that has to do with the Cable’s enthusiasm, how much has to do with Russell leaving, and how much has to do with Hue Jackson’s much improved offense.

  • Glutten for Punishment

trust me sammyBull, i would lick the sweat off Als nuts if he locked up Cowher or someone like that but it aint happening and this is what we got and it is an improvment, might not be a ton of it but is nuntheless.

  • Norco Bob

Since when do head coaches and OC`s and DC`s get along?…some might, but by and large they are rarely in same meetings, rarely cross paths,…in most cases dislike each other or more likely barely know each other,…Im sure there is tension with Cable and Huey,..as well as with Cable and his DC Phil Donahue…it happens with most teams if not all of them,…Yahoo Sports is a flop,..they get losers like Mike Silverstein and Jason Cole to write crap that is typical internet lies,…like the one when they lied about most coaches wanted Mike Mitchell released, which was of course 100% baloney. I have spoken….by the way,..Jon Gruden in 2011 or Im gone.

But JHill, wouldn’t receivers be double-covered on every single hail mary? You still have to throw it instead of asking a receiver to shake off a defender and get out of bounds with 6 seconds left.

I think more importantly, Aig was showing us how JC has a history of these types of non-killer-instinct plays, and why he has such a losing record.

  • J Hill

11 secs left and homie threw 16 yds up for grabs and it wasnt even to the sideline. Ford was no where near the sideline for a tap. You either throw out of bounds or into the endzone.

    —————————————————–

Are you really telling me Ford wasn’t running TOWARDS the sideline?

Of course it was a duck you CLOWN! Isn’t that what throwing off your backfoot because the DEs are in your face?

Did you see him make a move to shake the DE but decide against it and heave it towards Ford?

Who the EFF said it was a nice sit in the pocket read and throw to the sidelines?

It was a busted play! Oline BROKE DOWN!

You act like the guy sat in the pocket, dropped back, and threw it to a RB 5 yds down field, lol.

Oh, and why are you mad again?

  • RaidingTexas

Alex, he’s better than Boller. What else can the Raiders do? They don’t have a better QB option right now. It is what it is.

I don’t think anyone is campaigning for Jason to be the long-term solution. Despite preferring him to Bruce, I have said here multiple times that we need to draft a franchise QB in the Bradford/Luck mold. I don’t want any more castoffs (McCown/Campbell), retreads (Daunte), journeymen (Bruce/Boller), etc.

I’m happy with the way they played yesterday. They didn’t quit they played there asses off. We should all be happy with the way there playing this yr compared to last eight yr’s. We are on the rise. Someone had to lose yesterday it just happened to be us. They quit against pits and Miami. But showed heart yesterday to me. And that should mean a lot. We know how it feels to be in the hunt this yr. How it feels to beat SD, how it feels to kill the broncos and beat kc. And that will go a long way to how we will do next yr. I’m excited and raider nation should be also. Major props to the team this yr.

RaidingTexas, the Raiders do not know how to develop young QBs. Drafting a franchise QB would be a big mistake.

    Alex,

Let’s not make this that hard. DHB going into the endzone against double coverage making a catch he’s never made in his life?

If it’s really down to that as the option how about neither one of them would be smart?

Now why don’t you tell me why, if it was indeed a Hail Mary situation, why we didn’t have Chaz and JLH in the game ALSO sending EVERYONE into the endzone?

Why were Ford and Murphy even running short routes to begin with????

THAT is what I’d rather discuss that does JC suck because he didn’t overcome Carlisle running into him or if he should have thrown to DHB in the endzone.

    RaidingTexas,

we’re not debating that the defense and special teams didn’t cost us the game.

However, that last pass simply confirms what many of us debate here weekly: That Jason Campbell doesn’t have what it takes to be a consistent winner in the league. He doesn’t have “it”. No killer instinct.

He proved it in Washington and is proving it here.

He’s turning 30 next season and isn’t our long-term answer if we want to be a team that can beat the top teams out there.

They guy played great yesterday although I was pissed he didn’t just throw it in the endzone on the last play and he held on the ball too long a couple times he continues to improve regardless of his age. Who could we get that is noticebly better than him in the offseason without getting rid of key pieces on our team knowing it’s going to take that guy time to let learn the system? That’s right, nobody

Well if Im gone Im gone,..Iv instructed my ticket rep, Sarah Cattaneo, to NOT send me an invoice for 2011 if Jon Gruden is not the head coach,..she responded that she got email and will abide by it,…if Jons not here in 2011 A lot has lost its baddest tailgate party for life.

  • inonewordraider

We actually played our best game as an offense with Campbell on DMAC being DMAC Zach Reece Murphy and even DHB gettin in on it. We’re continuing to improve and we’re still a SD slip up away (KC will lose to either Rams or Tenn) from controlling our destiny. Our young team finally found it’s identity maybe too late but this is a contender as is and will be for a while. Be happy were back in the hunt because Tom Brady Peyton Manning Aaron Rodgers Drew Brees Matt Ryan and Sam Bradford aren’t falling in our laps.

He wouldnt stay away because he hates Al,..from what Iv heard he loves Al,…the problem is Al, not Jon,…and nobody in Alameda has the balls to tell Al whats best for the future of the Raiders,…because alot of them would be fired the day Jon and Bruce came back….and for the record, once again, with most teams, the coach and owner arent best friends…almost all head coaches half to walk on eggshells around their owner.

    Inonewordraider,

unfortunately, that weird decision at the end of the game has been his career norm.

And unfortunately, some people DO think he’s the long-term answer, despite the fact we play the Vikings, Packers, Patriots, Jets, and Bears next year.

We’re not going to improve next year if he’s still our QB. We’ll be 6-10 with that schedule.

JC simply succumbs to pressure situations.

Philly, New England, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, NYJ, Baltimore, Green Bay, Atlanta, New Orleans, Indy, Tennessee,

Is the current formula more to your taste? That same formula of castoffs, retreads, journeymen over the last 8 years?

If we don’t draft one, then Jason is probably the best we’re going to get. Maybe if the Cowboys think Kitna is their guy now, we can trade away Nnamdi or some picks for Romo. I’d be fine with a gunslinger like him.

  • raidertalk

    The problem with Cable…

he seems ok and can get along with Big Al…

But he’s panicking out there, the challang on that run and going for it on fourth and 3 with more than 7:30 minutes left in the game.
Your down by 7, your starting QB is hurt, kick the field goal…7 mins is an eternity
